Excerpt from The Story of Nefrekepta From a Demotic Papyrus: Put Into Verse

While doing the verses I was constantly reminded of certain Egyptian illuminations by Miss Florence Kingsford, now Mrs. Sydney Cockerell, which I had seen some years ago, and she has been so kind as to provide the book with a frontispiece and tail-piece.

A magnificent translation into English by Gilbert Murray, than whom there is none better. A deft and imaginative rendering of a fascinating Demotic text.

Magnificent translation by magnificent translator! An Egyptian story told via a demotic papyrus; very unusual and fanciful; not the same old Greek stories.
