Don't Come Around Here

Rate this book
He's back in town and wants back in me.

Brad was my first kiss, my first love, my first everything.
Then my dad found out.
And he made sure Brad didn't come around any more.
I've never been able to get him off my mind.
Now, we're both back in our hometown, and it seems the feeling is mutual.
He wants to be with me again, but he left back then.
My panties get soaking wet when he's around.
But I know better than to let him in them again.
He may have stolen my innocence, but I won't let him steal my heart.
The problem is, he did that a long time ago.
And this bad boy still takes what he wants.

Don't Come Around Here is a full length standalone romance featuring a dominant, alpha male athlete and the curvy, feisty woman he falls for. It has no cheating and no cliffhangers, but a very happy ever after and plenty of steam.

Don’t come around by Eva Luxe and Juliana Connors a four-star read that will leave you hot and bothered. This pair write a good story together, there is drama and sex a plenty and a great storyline that will keep you hooked, Carly and Brad as a whole were great but there were little things that didn’t compute with me, but overall I loved the whole story.

A Second Chance At Love?

This is the newest in the "Don't" series by Eva Luxe and Juliana Conners.  I have enjoyed reading books written by this pairing of terrific authors before and I enjoy their writing styles that complement one another and make for flowing stories that transport you to the worlds of the characters in the book and their descriptions are so well defined that I can almost 'picture' what they look like and their personalities within the books.  In this one, we meet Brad and Carly. who were high school sweethearts and very much in love until her father went ballistic and dragged Carly form Brad and his mum's home. I'm just surprised that they didn't call the police on the man as he wasn't behaving rationally. Anyway, because of her father's threats they have to keep away from each other.  he goes off and becomes has a very successful sporting career which is what he wanted and Carly goes to college.  Six years go by and they both happen to be in town at the same time. As soon as they see each other, they realise that their feelings haven't changed and they are now mature enough to 'fight' for their love. But to make their romance easier they keep it low key. However, the press find out that Brad is home and they camp outside his home.  What's now going to happen to their possible HEA?  I did like how Brad wasn't just a womanising jock and he took responsibility for himself and his actions and was ready to prove to Carly how deep his love for her is and how he will do anything to give them a chance at happiness. There is plenty of hot sizzling intimate scenes that you will need to have your fans at the ready to switch to maximum force as they are STEAMING!  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.  However, as I loved the story so much, I bought my own copy and am now enjoying the bonus material included!  So get yourself a copy of this and enjoy reading their journey to a possible HEA!

DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I really enjoyed this latest book in the "Don't" series by Ms Luxe and Ms Conners. This story is about Brad, a member of the Miami Sharks football team and Carly his high school love. Brad and Carly met and fell in love in high school. They choose to keep it a secret because Carly's father is very overprotective and does not want her dating until she has graduated from college. One day Carly's dad discovers that they have been seeing each other when he comes to Brad's house and takes Carly mom. Brad is unable to fight for Carly because of the threat her dad poses. Carly and Brad must stay away and go their separate ways. Years later the two happen to come back to their hometown and begin to see one another again. This time both are able to fight for their love. They run into problems with the press who has found out Brad is home and have camped out in front of his mom's house. Carly has a hard time with what the press has written about them and is not sure if she is up to the challenge that Brad's includes. This is a very will written book. I loved how the two of them were able to meet again and realize they never stopped loving one another and what they had was meant to be. I really enjoy the stories of the men of the Miami Sharks football team and the women they love. Absolutely wonderful HEA!

This another story in the “Don’t” Series and this story is about Carly and Brad. With a hidden relationship as high school sweethearts it comes crashing down due to an over protective father. Both Carly and Brad never forgot one another or moved on with another having broken heats for years. Six years later and they happen to both be home visiting their parents. Brad has become a professional football player for the Florida Sharks and Carly is one semester away from getting her MBA. Once Brad sees Carly he knows he wants her and will do what he can to achieve it! Carly is unsure if she should get involved with Brad not knowing if he is the same or different person. Both are afraid that the connection, chemistry and love they had as kids will not be there. Only one way to find out and give Brad a chance to protect Carly like he could not as a teenager! Getting to know one another again and how they connect is a great second chance love story. Can they move forward or will they have to battle against Carly's Dad and Brads public opinion? I enjoyed each story that Juliana and Eva have written in this series. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Juliana and Eva did great with this second chance romance. Brad and Carly were high school sweethearts and were so in love. They kept their relationship secret due to her father, and when they are caught together, her father takes her home and Brad stayed away from her so she wouldn't get in more trouble. Six years later and they are both back home visiting their parents. Brad is a professional football player and Carly just has a few more months of college until she gets her MBA. Carly isn't sure if she wants to start up with Brad again, but Brad wants Carly back and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. They still have a connection like before and their chemistry is off the charts hot. During the six years apart they never forgot about each other and their attraction to each other is stronger than before. Will they be able to have a relationship with each other or will her father and Brad's fans get in the way? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

I received this ARC from Bookfunnel for my honest review. Brad and Carly were not only high school sweethearts but they were each other's first, truly a romantic fairytale. There's only one big problem. Carly isn't allowed to date until she's out of college. Yes, you read that correctly! Her father is so tyrannical about it that when he finds them together, he literally pulls a gun and holds it to Brad's head threatening to kill him and forcibly takes Carly home. He stays away from her so he doesn't cause problem, hoping she'll come to him. She's heartbroken when Brad no longer talks to her. When she starts to make contact at graduation, he walked away. Now six years later, Brad plays pro football and Carly is finishing college. Her parents have sold their home and bought the house next door to Brad's mother. What are the odds? One more date, one night of passionate lovemaking and now what? Wondering how this will unfold yet? Don't wonder. Get the book and follow these characters and Eva Luxe's tale to find outmore. You won't be disappointed.

Oh wow, what a lovely story of Brad and Carly. Childhood sweethearts who just wanted to be together. Sadly Carly had a very strict father who loved her BUT he is a bit much. After finding them together, he threatens Brad and that’s when their lives change.
Six years later, Brad returns home. Never dreaming that Carly’s family live next door. Now the fun begins. They still want to be together but their lives have changed so much. The things they have to do , to Still want to be together. It was heartbreaking. Always watching over your shoulder to see if her dad is around. The other problem for Brad is the paparazzi as he is now famous.
Well as they say, the heart wants what the heart wants and Brad has never given up. He has stayed true to his word. He has really good friends and I will be reading about them shortly. Loved it, brilliant read.

Very well written story with great storyline and plot. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable. I like the main characters and how they develop. I like the pace of the story. About giving the second chance to one that hurt you before. A really passionate story where the characters have to oversome a lot before they can have their HEA.

The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes it better of than without it. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters.
There are passion, drama, emotions, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this amazing story. It is captivating.

These two authors is the perfect combo when it comes to writing. Just love it!

Voluntarily Reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book!

I am not sure why this book didn't do it for me. Ok, no I know.. it was all over the place and the charachters didnt feel real or genuine. It just felt rushed and mumbo jumbo the whole time. In the past I enjoyed the workings of these two authors, now I am just confused. Brad and Carly were so juvenile and immature. The dad had too much power and trying to run Brad off while he lived next door was daunting. The words displayed in this book were redundant to say the least. I round up my ratings and that's the only reason I gave it 3 stars. At least there was an HEA even if previous characters were mentioned from different series and not actually in the story. It just left me frustrated that it took so long to get through.

2.5 STARS

Brad and Carly were each other’s first loves. They had everything planned out – go to the same college and be together. But Carly’s dad had other ideas. He caught them both together and threatened Brad. He tells Brad to leave Carly alone and to never see her again. Brad goes off to play football for the Florida Sharks. He is living his dream as a pro football player. Carly is in school going for her MBA. Six years go by and Brad returns home to spend time with his mom. And Carly is staying at her parents who moved next door to Brad’s mother. They happen to be home at the same time. Things start to get interesting. This was a good read overall. The characters seemed a little wishy washy for my taste. And the supporting characters I felt were not really developed. Over all a good read though.

I am really enjoying this series, and I love seeing all the people from previous books again. I also loved the idea of two people who hadn't had the chance to see if their "puppy-love" could be the real thing. That's what this one felt like to me. It wasn't really a second chance love story, but it wasn't really a new romance love story either. This fact made it a little harder for me to understand Brad and his feelings for Carly so many years after graduation. I also wasn't always happy with how Carly acted. There were some parts where I had to remind myself she wasn't still in high school. For the most part, I enjoyed the story, and since these are some of my favorite authors I know I will be reading their next release.

Another fabulous collaboration by these 2 amazing authors!
The story itself was very well written with characters that I fell in love with. The authors wrote them so that you feel like you know them or can relate to them.
Carly and Brad are childhood sweathearts, which by Carly’s fathers rules, isn’t against the rules. When they get caught in a compromising position, her father sends him away.
Flash forward to them being all grown up and trying to make a relationship work again as adults, with adult issues.

Carly and Brad were high school sweethearts. When Carly's dad discovers them, he threatens Brad with a gun to never go near Carly again. Six years later Carly and Brad are both back in town and run into each other. The chemistry is still sizzling but can they start over? Can Carly forgive Brad for not fighting for her? Can they both get a second chance? The story flows nicely with drama, passion, heartbreak and steamy romance. Great book! Great characters! One-click for a touching romantic read.

High school sweethearts Brad and Carly have not seen each other in six years. Not since the night Carly’s father caught them in a compromising position. Brad is now an NFL superstar and Carly is finishing her MBA, but once reunited the chemistry and love is still there. But will his career in the spotlight be too much for her to deal with? Or will her father once again try to come between them? With great characters and storyline that was a heartwarming story, this book should not be missed.

What a fantastic book! I could not put this one down. The characters were so well written they were completely believable and the story line moved at a great pace. This book had me laughing, crying and pissed off! I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves reading a book with roller coaster emotions and plot line that makes you sit on the edge of your chair cheering for the couple. I received this book as an ARC and voluntarily chose to review it. This is my honest opinion.

Ok, so the first couple chapters I struggled through but After that it got a better. This book was a quick read with some great characters (except for Carlys dad, he was aweful). Carly and Bradley are childhood sweethearts but Carlys dad wouldn't allow them to be together. They both go their separate ways but now they are both home again at the same time. They struggle to find the love they used to share as the adults they have grown into.

This story was medium paced and only revolved around the two main characters Carly and Brad. They were high school sweethearts and were pulled apart and threatened by Carly's father. She never forgave her father for that. After six years both came home to visit and saw each other. It was nice that they wanted to get reacquainted to see if there was anything left of their former love. The story covers their developing relationship and the hardship of fame. Carly's dad was still a problem but this time Brad fought for her and would not leave Carly alone. It was a sweet romance.

I have enjoyed all of the stories involving the guys of the Florida Sharks and their women. This one was another good addition. I really liked Brad. He was such a stand up guy whose feelings never wavered for his high school sweetheart. Carly was a little wishy washy in her feelings and what she wanted with Brad, but that might be a result of growing up with her extremely overprotective father. I loved that the women from the first three books made a couple appearances throughout this story.

This is a well written book about secrets and desires. It is a sweet story about first love, friendship, romance, hot sex and trust. The story pulled me in from the first page and didn't let me go until the end. This is the fourth book on the “Don’t” series, they are all standalone books with no cliffhangers. The book is fast-paced, the writing is fluid and easily read in one sitting.

Carly and I were each other's first in everything. She was my everything until her father told me to leave and never come around here again. This is a great second chance romance that will have your heart pumping and your kindle smoking. Well written with interesting characters and a page turning story line. A great read. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review. The story of Brad and Carly was a sweet read

This is a great second chance romance that shows us that some things are just meant to be. Carly and Brad tried to make it work in high school, but as Eva and Julianna show us sometimes it takes growing up to realize what is important and what your willing to fight for to discover what you really want out of life. Finally, I thought the characters were enjoyable and the storyline kept me engaged. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this book.

Don’t Come Around Here is about high school sweethearts and second chances. First I have to say, what is up with crazy dad!? Second, what is up with hot professional football player NOT being a manwhore?! Good story with lots of angst. Characters are mostly likable, though Carly got on my nerves a couple times. Definite recommendation. I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.

I have read and an voluntarily reviewing this book after receiving an advanced copy.

I liked this story about enduring love between Brad and Carly. They were high school sweethearts but were torn apart when Carly's father forbade them from seeing each other. After six years apart Brad returns to his home town only to find Carly is also visiting her parents. They find that the love they shared is still as strong.

Carly and Brad were high school sweethearts till Carly's dad broke them up...he didn't want her to date till AFTER college! It's six years later and both are home visiting their parents, finding they live next door to each other! Brad demands a date with Carly and she accepts. This book was steamy but I didn't feel like it flowed well. The writing was sometimes choppy and didn't read well.

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

After losing her first and only love because of her Dad, Carly never truly got over him because she still loves him. Now years later he's so close and he wants her. Brad had stayed away when Carly's father had threatened him to stay away, but he never had real relationship since but now she older and he won't stay away now. Two people that find each other after 6 years apart, it is such a sweet story with a few hick ups along the way but a great read that will have you glued to the end.

Don't Come Around Here is an entertaining read. A cute storyline with plenty of heart. I liked Carly and Brad and the chemistry they shared. Very good; high school sweethearts get a second chance at love. I like that his character was very down to earth and willing to chase her. Although their lifestyles are miles apart, if you really love someone, you are willing to sacrifice and compromise. He is courageous and she is skittish, their second chance has a whole new level of trials but what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger...
