I was very excited to come across this because I'm 99% sure these are the same illustrators who did one of my childhood favorites, another book adapted from Monkey and the Journey to the West, Havoc in Heaven. I'm not sure if that was also adapted by Jill Morris -- I feel like the it was a little wordier, but maybe that's because I was a tiny tot learning to read at the time.

I didn't love this quite as much as Havoc in Heaven, possibly because I also as a child had a longer adaptation of Monkey Subdues the White Bone Demon.

You know, I'm not sure I ever found what happens when they get to the West.
