SOMETHING OLD

Cassandra Ross worked at Stephens & Associates for years and saw Vance Stephens at corporate events and holiday parties. He was her boss's son and was said to be a maverick. Vance was a celebrity lawyer. He invested in a fleet of start-up companies and lived a bachelor lifestyle.

Their exchanges were always intimate, stolen moments until a New Year's gala when Vance took her breath away in a passionate Winter's kiss. He received a phone call and left before Cassandra had a chance to reveal her feelings for him.

SOMETHING NEW

Cassandra found out months later that Vance was involved in a situation that could lead to his financial ruin. She didn't see Vance until he walked into the company's holiday toy drive almost a year later. He wore a designer suit with a diaper bag slung over his shoulder as he steered a high-tech baby stroller. Vance said he was a single Dad and then introduced her to Braeden Jacob Stephens, his adorable two-month old son.

Vance Stephens wanted Cassandra from the moment he saw her. She was off limits for years and bad timing had kept them apart. A stressful moment and his random proposal will prompt Cassandra to accept an arrangement. Can she handle the situations and responsibilities or will her own past and insecurities destroy her chance at happiness?

So Romantic! This is my first read byJessica Caryn and most certainly not my last. I cried during the wedding scenes. Vance was a modern day Prince Charming. Gah!! Braeden was adorable, and I loved Cass's determination in trying to find balance. Kudos to her for being the calm, professional woman she should've been and not losing her shit in the office. This is what I want to read in a romance. Sweet but still kind of dirty. It was so easy to follow and hard to put down. I've been in a bit of a reading slump, so I took the rec from my friend, and I'm so glad I did. Winter Blues has a different story-line with heart melting romance. Great chemistry between the MCs. I appreciate that the book ended too. I hate cliffhangers and the HFN ending worked for me. I hope there will be a book about their friends because there was an event that had to be canceled due to the weather, so I wonder if that's significant. 5 romantic stars!

The book was ok for a quick read.

I felt the characters and relationships where a bit clinical the only one that moved me was the love Cass had for Breadon.

Also the timeline was a little sporadic, i have enjoyed books that use this method but usually the Novel is a lot longer giving the reader time to adjust to the different stages, this however being a quickie it didn't work.

The whole feel of the book is that the reader has been dropped into the day to day life of the characters with no real climax, there is a loose story but for the most part its things you would do on a daily routine.

What i loved.....

The Author has an uncanny knack of letting the reader fill in the blanks in a beautiful way, finding out about Cass's eptopic pregnancy and finally filling in the blanks of how she must have fallen in love with Breadon, although highly relevent in lieu with the way the story is written, i find it very clever that we are given the instruments to paint our own picture.

I adore the love Cass has for Braedon, the time he had to be picked up from nursery and how she must have felt... Also to be as understanding as she is with her husband and all his drama...

A easy read

Worst

I have read almost 125 books from Kindle. There have been few which didn't catch my attention or I didn't think they were up to my expectations. But this one in particular his the worst that I have read till date. Nothing made sense in this book. The summary said something else and the real material was something else. It had unnecessary display of emotions on weird times. I mean how can someone have such a perfect demeanor in situation of jealousy or anger? And what is the wrong with the kid? Sometimes he is acting like a six months old and sometimes he turns into a two years old. No sense at all. No nexus of one situation from other. The topic about Cassandra's past was mentioned in like two to three chapters. Half of the book talked about the fact that we're getting married and how emotional everyone was and an entire chapter was dedicated to a dance number involving everyone. The oh so serious groom is shimmying and suddenly the sincere bride has become a naughty vixen. Even in front of her in-laws!!!! Are you serious? Are you living a fantasy. WTF was that? Horribly plot. No climax. The author tried to give a built up for climax but it ended in one chapter. Cassandra's life ruining past was some kind of bullshit who anyone could guess even before the built up was made. Her ex's girlfriend was so understanding and loving and cheery and everyone just started making her feel welcomed suddenly even though they know nothing about her. And Vance is such a saint descended from heaven. God know what was the investigation. What happened to his firm? What was his celebrity clientele? Bunch of crap load vomited in this book. Strongly suggest to not read. Mere wastage of time.

Winter Blues

This was about two people who were attracted to each other when they first met. But due to outside forces did not get together for several years. When one night he kissed her, but leaves suddenly. She heard rumors several months later. But it was a year later that she sees him again. But he wasn't alone. He has a child. This story grows from there. With the past can either of them be able to become a family? What about the baby's mother?

This is a well written book with a good story, but I am not much of a romance reader. I think those that are will love the story of Cassandra Ross and her relationship with Vance Stephens. The two have a different type of relationship that involves company business and arrangements that end up being much different than they started out as.

?

It was more like a storyline from a soap opera than a book.
It was cringe worthy in some parts.
Too much unnecessary content.
Finished very abruptly, like the author realises she had no where to go.
