Lavinia's heart's desire—creating the elaborate hats she loves—doesn't belong in this small town. How can she choose between the life she has and the life she wants? Especially when she's so utterly vexed by the handsome scoundrel who's just arrived in Eden.

Rhett Laughlin intends to fulfill a dream and open a profitable restaurant in the growing town. Instead, he's marched right into trouble with one of Eden's most eligible bachelorettes. But as much as Lavinia Brinkman is making things difficult, Rhett can't keep himself from thinking about her.

With every spirited encounter, the animosity between Rhett and Lavinia is starting to look a lot like attraction. And the town of Eden is about to discover what happens when these rivals find what truly lies in their hearts…

Not as good as the first of Caroline Fyffe's Colorado Hearts series. This was a nice listen and I enjoyed the characters and seeing the sisters become closer to fulfilling their dreams and falling for handsome men to boot.

This was an enjoyable listen for me and I look forward to the next in the series. A new reader to Ms. Fyffe's novels, I won't hesitate to continue to support this author.

Another fun escape into the old American west! Ms. Fyffe has created such a lovely family of sisters with a creatively delightful twist!

Lavinia’s character was a bit hard for me to like at times with her dog-headed determination to leave - even when everything screams for her to stay and Rhett’s reasons and attempts at becoming a restaurant owner landed way outside the common sense fence but it was still an absolutely delightful read as we watched these two work their way from embarrassed and uncomfortable acquaintances to the heart-warming couple they became.

True Hearts’ Desire: Colorado Hearts Book 2 is by Caroline Fyffe. This series of three books centers around the Brinkman sisters of Eden, Colorado. Their Father had run the ranch along with Blake Harding for many years while his wife had taken the girls back east where it was safer for them. Unscrupulous friends had taken the girls in but intercepted his letters and payments and convinced the girls that he had wanted nothing to do with an of them. Upon his death, the girls were notified they had to come to Eden to sign the paperwork. This gave them ½ of the estate and Blake the other ½. The girls had to stay on the land for 6 months before it was clear. Or, they could choose to take money for their share and the ranch belonged to Blake. They chose to stay on the ranch. In addition, they were each given a business in town to run.
Lavinia was very upset. She had hurt her eye and was unable to attend Belle and Blake’s wedding. Just as Karen, who helped at the hotel, came to tell h er she was leaving for the wedding, Karen noticed a man getting out of the stage. She was delighted that the new doctor had come in time. If he could ease the pain and get her ready, she would be able to do her bridesmaid’s job. She was so delighted she kept introducing him to the townspeople; but she was not quite right, he was not the doctor!
Rhett Laughlin had come to Eden to open a café. His brother Shawn had wanted to do that before his death. Shawn had read three articles in the newspaper about the Brinkman girls and thought they would bring life into the town. However, these articles told lots of minute details about the girls, including some that were embarrassing. Rhett showed these to the sheriff and he and the girls’ lawyer began an investigation as to who had given that information to the press.
Would the rest of the girls find happiness in Eden as Belle did? Was there a man for each of them?

This is the second book in Colorado Hearts series and it definitely is best if its read as a series. While the second book does go over why the five sisters have all come to Colorado, I felt this book was all the richer for having read the first book. Caroline Fyffe does a wonderful job recreating the American West and writing a story that you just can't help to get involved with. This book mainly focuses on Lavinia but there is some progress on each of the sister's stories as well. Not exactly sure who the focus of the next book will be but I'm definitely looking forward to more stories set in Eden..

I enjoyed the story of these 5 sisters making a way for themselves and their loved ones. In the beginning I was having a hard time keeping all the of sisters straight. There was so much information. As I got further along I was able to piece things together. Maybe I should have read book 1 first and that would have helped me to keep more in line. I especially liked the story of Rhett and Lavinia.

LIFE IN EDEN WAS AN ADVENTURE

Once again, Ms. Caroline Fyffe has taken her readers on a roller-coaster ride in this emotional journey of family, loss, secrets, new beginnings and love. The story has brought the five Brinkman sisters back to Eden, Colorado, where they were born, from their home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They must all agree to spend six months in Eden to inherit according to the will left by their father, John Brinkman.

The story will start with the wedding of Belle Brinkman to Five Sisters ranch foreman, Blake Harding. But a problem has happened as Lavinia was placing flowers, a piece of one will hit her in her eye. Now Lavinia is at the hotel in pain, and it’s time for the wedding. The stagecoach arrives, and it is thought that the new town doctor is on it.

Rhett Laughlin has moved to Eden, Colorado to open a restaurant and to try and fulfill his late brother, Shawn, dream. What a shock to be pulled in the hotel, and up the stairs to try and remove something from a ladies eye. She keeps referring to him as the doctor and insistent on his help, and not allowing him to clarify who he really is.

“It’s time to make some changes. His own future had yet to be determined.”

The plot of the story will be riddled with embarrassment, mystery, suspense, danger, secrets, dreams, and romance. Once the truth about who Rhett Laughlin is, Lavinia is mortified at what happened. Then to learn that a newspaper in San Francisco has been running weekly tell-all features about the Brinkman sisters has the girls upset, but the one person that they trust like a sister may be the source. That will lead to accusations, hurt feelings, and a riff in a lifelong friendship.

“Keep in mind, though; everyone has a skeleton or two in their closets.”

The town of Eden is seeing an influx of new arrivals, and some overheard conversations lead to danger. Lavinia will risk safety to learn more and then find herself lost in a heavily wooded area. She is lucky that Rhett noticed her heading to the meadow where she gathers flowers. But what she tells him will have him and the town leaders on alert.

“Some things are more powerful than fear.”

Lavinia’s plans were placed on hold when she and her sister went to Eden, and now that the six-month time period is nearly up, she has the opportunity to return to Philadephia and apprentice under a famous millinery. Her heart and mind are pulling her in two directions, one to pursue her dream, the other to remain near her sisters and the town she loves. Will a harrowing experience and rescue change her mind—or maybe a letter be the eye-opener she needs?

While the story has all five sisters and other key people in the town, this one mainly focuses on nineteen-year-old Lavinia and the friendship she develops with Rhett. Together, they have a way of bringing out the best in each other without judgment, and along the journey, they are falling in love. I think she would have made her father very proud. The greatest legacy she can leave is to continue in the direction she is going.

“I’ve never been surer of anything in my life. You make my heart sing. Why would I ever want to be anywhere else? But the watcher knows. Our life is only beginning.”

True Heart’s Desire picks up where Heart of Eden, the first book in the Colorado Hearts series, leaves off. We are again in Eden, Colorado in the late 1800’s with the Brinkman sisters, Blake who is their brother-in-law and Belle’s husband and others we’ve met before along with some newcomers. This time Lavinia is front and center and keeps us on our toes. She first meets Rhett when her sister drags him to her hotel room thinking he’s the new doctor in town. He plays along so Lavinia can attend her oldest sister’s wedding after he flushes out her eye and reduces the pain but lies of omission are still lies especially considering how she acted and what she was wearing! It only got more interesting from there.

The story flowed smoothly between the town, the woods, forest, meadow, ranch and all the characters. There were a few stories being told and they tied in nicely. The characters had a depth to them especially those who had secrets to hide. As the story unfolds we are reminded of the primitiveness of the times and also the lawlessness. The sister’s lives and those of the ranch hands, the sheriff, the lawyer and others are intertwined and many go back to the relationship with the sisters deceased father, whom they were estranged from through no fault of his or theirs. They all have their hopes and dreams, most tied in with their inheritances of businesses previously owned by their father, but others not. Lavinia is torn since she feels a connection with Rhett but also a pull back to Philadelphia where they were raised.

There were emotional moments. I laughed and cried and couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The pages turned quickly far into the night. There were family and friends, reminisces, hurt, sorrow, lies, anger, sadness, illegal activities, accidents, horses, Rhett’s dog, dreams fulfilled, love and affection and confidences along with a few twists and turns. The descriptions of the land, the food, the water, the meadow and the mountains made me feel like I was there. It was nice how their father was woven throughout the story even though he had died. There is a happily ever after or two in the offing but I can’t wait to be back in Eden once again.

True Heart’s Desire is another five star read from Fyffe. I can’t wait to read more in this series as well as some of her other historical romances.

Favorite Quote: Crossing the meadow to the stand of rainbow-colored grand buckwheat, as well as the plentiful supply o f alyssum, she began to carefully snap off stems of both. Within the forest, a ray of sun glimmered on a deer trail she’d not noticed before. Blake had talked about hidden falls somewhere up this way, and how much their father had loved spending time there, thinking about his girls, praying they’d return.

The story of Lavinia Brinkman, one of the five sisters, and Rhett Laughlin from San Francisco, California and his faithful companion “Dallas”. This book gives you so much laugher, some tears, and lots of smiles.

Rhett wants to open a restaurant in the town of Eden. Can he do it? Rhett has a lot of sadness in his heart, decisions to be made and details to work out. As soon as he gets off the stagecoach he is whisked away to help a lady in distress “Lavinia”. In the days to follow, because of a circumstances and misunderstandings, Lavinia is embarrassed, angry and hurt. Of course, she also can’t stop thinking of the handsome Rhett.

Lavinia loves creating beautiful ladies hats and she manages and runs the hotel and its restaurant. She loves to pick flowers in the meadow and Rhett loves the peacefulness of the meadow. Lavinia has falling in love with Rhett’s dog “Dallas” (and so did I). Will they admit their feelings for one another? The town is growing and a lot of great things will come out of this, but will trouble also follow? Will Rhett be able to let go of his sadness and live for the future and still have room for Lavinia? Can Lavinia stay out of trouble? Will Rhett be able to keep Lavinia safe?

I highly recommend this Second Book in the Colorado Hearts Series. Caroline Fyffe has never disappointment me in her writings, and I personally cannot wait for Book Three. Remember, we have three more sisters to read about. Come join us by enjoying True Heart’s Desire. You wont regret it!!!

I really liked this book. It had a lot of story line going on with the five sisters, along with a friend who may not have been a friend, we’ll see. Lavinia is the main character in this story and Rhett Laughlin is the man who arrives to town and lets the sisters know that everything that ever happened in their lives has been published in newspapers, along with the fact that they have inherited their father’s ranch and money and that they are now very well off, as long as they stay there at least six months. After that who knows if they will all want to stay. Lavinia had an offer to study under a hat milliner and she loves her hats. It was her hearts desire to become a milliner and open her own shop. She would have to leave though in order to do that. Rhett has become quite the distraction. Her heart keeps confusing her. The book was easy to read in one day, one that kept me interested, had strong characters, a moving story line, based in the west, and a romantic twist, along with a good mystery. I found it to be really entertaining.

I received the book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review which I have here. I always love receiving books in the mail or online and being allowed to read and review books I may not have had the opportunity to pick up otherwise.

A very touching emotional read that has a little bit of everything in it, a family who has traveled so far as they start over in a new place with new issues that will lead to loss, love, drama, secrets, danger, suspense as they get to know the people and the land. Five sisters much come back to their roots to the home where they were born, they most stay six months to inherit the land their father gave his blood and soul to. We start with a wedding of one of the sister and a mishap to another which has them running to the stagecoach as it arrives with the new doctor on it. He is pulled through the hotel up the stairs to help Miss. Lavinia, Rhett is left in shock what is he expected to do and why does she keep calling him Doc.

As the story moves on and it comes out just who and what Rhett is poor Lavinia is mortified. The story he brings with him about all that is going on in the news has the sisters up in arms not knowing who to trust since it looks like their dear friend might behind this new turn of events. What follows is a very emotional story of friendship, trust and honor as well as pain and sorrow leaving a friendship torn.

Lavinia is torn in to different direction as her feelings grow for Rhett, with the six months coming to a close she must decide to follow her dream and return home or stay and build a life with Rhett. The story is build around these two and their romance as well as danger, but it also brings back some wonderful old characters as well as some new ones. It was nice to touch base again with the sisters, seeing what is new and how their life is going as well as some others I hold dear to my heart. I really enjoyed the humor as only Ms. Fyffe can bring to the table with one heck of a roller-coaster ride of danger, love twisted around pain and sorrow that grabs you from the first page with a read I couldn’t put down. I loved how she twisted the story around suspense and danger filling it with dreams and romance as the secrets unfold you are left in an awe state wondering how it will all play out. The characters are wonderful, you will come to love them and hold them dear to your heart. The plot is one that holds your attention and keeps you turning the pages. I thought this first book in this series was great but I like this one more. I can’t wait to see what is in store for the other sisters and how all their lives will turn out, from an author who knows how to tell a story that keeps you captivated. You can read this as a standalone but reading the first in the series will add depth that you wouldn’t have. I can't wait to listen to the audio which I have bought, audios add so much more for me and it is a treat I am really looking forward to.

If you’re in the mood to step back in time to an America that not many of us would be able to survive today… then step into the world of the Colorado Hearts series with True Heart’s Desire. First, a slight notation – I always recommend starting series from the beginning, yet sometimes it’s more important than others. The Colorado Hearts series is one that truly does need to be read in order for the best understanding of this world and it’s residents. Events flow from one book into the next, and we’ll get a little bit of each sister’s journey along this adventure. So this time I believe it really is important to start with Heart of Eden and move in order from there. But, that choice is up to you.

Lavinia and Rhett get off to a rather rocky, embarrassing case of mistaken identity at the start of True Heart’s Desire. But it doesn’t take very long for the attraction that they both felt from the start to begin growing. And going along for the ride of a mixed bag of emotions that this couple goes through to reach their happy ending is a sweet treat. Lavinia has dreams, the kind that don’t work very well in such a small town. She has a choice to make and it’s complicated by one handsome, annoying man. Rhett has a past that he needs to get beyond, leaving that past is painful yet there is one lovely young lady who could make getting through the pain so worthwhile. His dreams lie in this small town of Eden, Colorado and if he’s lucky not only his beloved dog, Dallas, but Lavinia will share that dream with him.

True Heart’s Desire is full of interesting characters, some villains along the way, a small town’s sense of community and gossip, choices to make and risks to take. We get a glimpse of each of the five sisters, touch on events of the first story and get ready for the next adventure. I had such a good time falling into this world. If you enjoy Western Historical Romance, then I believe you’ll feel right at home in this series. I’d definitely recommend this series and I’m now waiting for the next chance to visit the Brinkman sisters and the town of Eden, Colorado. If you’re ready for some tender moments, some danger, definitely laughter and tears, brought together in a really good story then you need to add True Heart’s Desire to your reading list.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

TRUE HEART’S DESIRE, the second entry into the Colorado Hearts series by Caroline Fyffe, is a heart-warming look at historical Eden, Colorado. The five Brinkman sisters have all moved to this male dominated town to take over the ranch left to them by their estranged father. Can they fulfill the conditions of the will, however, which requires that they all stay in this small, wild-west town for six months?
This story center on Lavinia Brinkman, one of the younger Brinkman sisters, whose real desire is to make hats. She is torn between staying in Eden with her sisters after the six-month period ends or returning to Philadelphia where she could study the art of hat making with the experts. Meanwhile, she is running the local hotel and restaurant.
San Franciscan Rhett Laughlin feels responsible for his brother’s death. To honor him, he moves to Eden with the intent to open a restaurant, even though he knows nothing about running a restaurant or cooking. To make matters worse, upon his arrival in town, he is mistaken for the new doctor. He soon finds himself in a very compromising situation with Lavinia, which will be made even worse when everyone finds out he is not the doctor!
This story of early Eden, Colorado is told with a lot of humor and historical details. There is romance, mystery and a dog named Dallas that is sure to capture your heart. Since I haven’t read the first novel in the series, I have to admit that I was a bit confused at first with the number of characters, but it didn’t take long to figure out who was who. The story caught my interest immediately and held me captive through the satisfying conclusion.
The author’s wonderfully descriptive passages made me feel at home in this small mountain town, and its sweet romance makes it a suitable read for anyone, especially those who enjoy tales of the old west. Can’t wait for my next visit to Eden!

I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

In True Heart’s Desire we go back for a visit to Eden, Colorado to find out what the Brinkman sisters are up to. Belle and Blake get married and just before the ceremony Lavina has an incident with her eye and she doesn’t think she will make the wedding. She decides the man arriving in town is the new doctor she calls for him to come look at her eye. Things go downhill from there when she discovers Rhett Laughlin isn’t the town’s new doctor. When the required six months are up, Lavina becomes conflicted as to whether or not she wants to say in Colorado or go back East where she thinks her dreams will come true. She has to decide where her true hearts desire really is before she can be truly happy.

This author has such a way of putting together a story with characters that pull you in right at the beginning of the story, where you can’t help but laugh, cry and cheer when things come together. These sisters are all very strong women, are loyal to each other and don’t give up no matter what situation comes their way. I felt like I was visiting old friends and meeting new ones on this visit back to Eden. I liked Rhett right away and felt so bad as he was dealing with guilt that he had put upon himself that really wasn’t fair. He was definitely a strong hero but didn’t try to overwhelm the heroine. I definitely was rooting for Rhett and wanted him to be happy. I definitely love stories that are beautifully wrapped around families and the strength that comes from a strong, loving family. The Brinkman sisters didn’t let anything get in the way of what they wanted. True Heart’s Desire has a strong plot with great characters, a bit of fun and laughter, a sexy hero and it all comes together quite nicely in the end. Another hit for this author.

I have been waiting for this next book in the series. These sisters are all so different but have fallen in love with the town and the people. But in everything there is a struggle. And leaving dreams behind to find others is just one Lavinia has to face. Such heartbreak and tenderness, danger and despair is shown throughout this story along with some quite funny antics also. I teared up a few times and that is hard to make me do as well as laughung out loud! I feel the heart in Caroline's books and that makes me love them so much more.

Lavinia has always dreamed of being a milliner as long as she can remember. And her dream was about to become reality. Until her fathers death. And their move to Colorado. Now she runs the hotel and cafe and is happy with her life. But she wants her dream.

Rhett comes to town running from his past. Running from the guilt and blame he believes he has caused. Bearing the newspapers with the stories of the sisters, and the hope of keeping his brothers dream alive he is determined to make it happen.

Mistaken identity causes things to go from bad to worse upon entering town. And he gets off on the wrong foot with everyone. Which is fine with him. Except he can't get the lovely Lavinia out of his mind. And that can only bring trouble.

There is so much standing in the way of these two. But common ground is found and a love of Eden brings them all together. Their openness with one another brings about a bond stronger than either thought possible. And when faced with his greatest fear, Rhett realizes what his true heart's desire is. Can Lavinia come to love him as well or will she leave him broken once again?

Lavinia Brickman is one of five sisters who were summoned to Eden, Colorado following their father's death. In the first book of this series, you learn that the sisters were taken from Eden when they were young and had grown up being told that their father was a monster and wanted nothing to do with them. Upon coming to Eden after his death, they learn that their father loved them very much and always wished they would return to the home he had built in Colorado.

Their father's will required that they all remain in Eden for six months or be paid a particular sum of money and they could move on with their lives. The six months is now almost up and Lavinia has plans to return to Philadelphia to learn from a great milliner to realize her dream. Then she meets Rhett Laughlin, a newcomer to Eden. She mistakenly thinks he is the new doctor in town and embarrasses herself by asking for his medical attention. Upon finding out the truth, she tries to avoid him but is constantly drawn back to him. As they spend a little time with each other, they share secrets that no one else knows and form a bond with each other. But, Lavinia is determined to leave to accomplish her dream but is that dream worth giving up what might be something wonderful with Rhett?

I have read several of Caroline Fyffe's books and have never been disappointed. The stories are clean and wonderfully romantic. The characters are well developed and the story is well thought out. I was given an arc copy of this book and I enthusiastically offer my review.

I highly recommend this book and this series. The stories are exciting and mysterious, warm, and loving all at the same time. Each book is a stand-alone so you don't have to read the full series it's just so much better if you do.

Lavinia Brinkman is an heiress thanks to the father she never knew. She agreed to live at his ranch for six months in order to inherit along with her four sisters but she wants to be a Millner back in Philadelphia. Her sisters all believe she has changed her mind. The position she wanted has been taken. So she runs the cafe that she inherited from her father and lives on the ranch where he always wanted her to be. On the day of her sister's wedding, she has an accident and something has gone into her eye and she can't keep it open. Finding the new doctor, for the town, has arrived she asks for his help.

Rhett is new in town and he just got off the stage. He has come to open a restaurant in Eden, Colorado, a place that his brother always wanted to go. He has a misunderstanding with a prominent citizen of the town and is embarrassed. He wants to fix the mistake but he's not sure how to go about it. He talks with her sisters while he's in town and they don't seem to hold a grudge so he's hoping to be able to stay in town and fulfill a dream of his brothers.

There is also something going on in Eden that neither of them is aware of just yet but they need to find out what it is and then decide on whether to stop it or not.

This is the second book in this series and it was another wonderful story that I loved.
One thing I have seen is Caroline Fyffe writes very believable and complex characters. She also writes every story with adventure and danger to give the reader a reason to keep on reading and having a hard time to put every story she writes down.
I am always taken right into the story and feel like I am a part of the time and town and even sometimes the family that she is writing about. I am always so excited to read one of her books and I am always thrilled for the story is so enthralling and I just have a hard time putting it down.

This is another dramatic story that I highly encourage you to read and I am very sure you will love it.
I would also recommend the first book in this series so you know the sisters in this story and the story behind this town of Eden, Colorado.

I received this ARC from the Publisher Montlake through NetGalley with no expectations of a review. However, I loved this story and wanted to review this book and hope to help others find good books to read.

This series should be read in order.  This story begins with the wedding of Blake and Belle (from book 1). The girls are about to meet the requirements of their father's will; then they can move on.  Will they?  Lavinia Brinkman embarrasses herself and the new man in town, Rhett Laughlin, by assuming he is the new doctor.

Frankly, I've found this book wanting.  It is boring, without depth or substance.  After the great first novel, this has been a disappointment.  I can't even imagine the reason Rhett has decided to open a restaurant (related to his deceased brother).  He knows nothing about cooking or the restaurant business.

True Heart’s Desire is book 2 in the Colorado Heart’s Series. The saga continues with the Brinkman daughters. This time the focus is on Lavinia and her interactions with a new man in town who she mistakes to be the new town doctor.

Lavinia’s misconceptions about the man, Rhett Laughlin, a handsome stranger who comes to her rescue more than a couple of times, causes her more trouble than she is ready for. She finds that the more involved she gets with Rhett, the more she is mired in danger. Both characters have their own secrets that they must share in order to form a bond that they both desire. Whether they are able to reveal their secrets is another issue.

Another enjoyable addition to this series with plenty of intriguing characters, especially the Brinkman sisters, and situations. I look forward to the next one.

Lavinia and Rhett's story is set in the beautiful western town on Eden. Lavinia and her sisters have inherited much. As Lavinia is trying to sort out what her true heart's desire is, everything is made more complicated by the influx of newcomers to their beautiful town. While Rhett tries to mind his own business he finds himself swept into the lives of Lavinia and her sisters. The story is full of action, romance, and strong family values. I loved seeing developments in the lives of the other Brinkman sisters as well seeing the relationship between Lavinia and Rhett blossom. I look forward to the next book in this series.

Fudge is dependable in writing a good story

I have read several of Fyffe's books, set in the historical American West. This is the first I have read of this particular series. I like how her books reveal more about the places and time period than many in this genre. I also appreciate her well developed characters, and how she is not shy about revealing their flaws...everyone has them, right? Find a comfy place to read about the Brinkman sisters and other characters who make Eden, Colorado their home. You'll want to read another, all types although each book can easily start alone.

Beautifully written series

Lavinia is a wonderful sassy character and she made this book. She was not some wimpy woman who was just going through the motions until her man would come and save her. She knew what she wanted and did what she could go get it. This book was not love at first sight or second. It was almost hate but humorous as they fight their attraction to each other. I laughed and enjoyed Rhett and Lavinia story as they came together. I love this series as it tell the path each sisters take to find their future. I can't wait to read the next book.

Nice sequel

I started reading this author for her Montana books--the mail order brides. This led me to reading the McCutcheon series and recently this 2 book Colorado series. I will be watching for more of her work. What grabs me most is her development of characters. I enjoy the way she writes positive accounts of life in the Western era, mentioning history's dark times but not dwelling. She writes romance without steamy sex scenes. Her work is professional and we'll written. I enjoy her characters so much I can overlook the few glitches in social history that I found.

This was a delightful, sweet historical romance that I thoroughly enjoyed. The author has a pleasant writing style that flows smoothly and makes understanding her story effortless. Her characters are well defined and well rounded. It was easy to imagine them as well as their surroundings.

Although this is Book Two it can be read as a stand-alone because back story is given. I can tell you from my experience, you will also want to read Book One. Most definitely a I recommend this book and am eager to read the next to learn more about the sisters. 5 stars out of 5 star rating.

Good

True Heart’s Desire wasn’t as good as Heart of Eden because I had hoped it would tie up some of the loose ends however that wasn’t the case. I enjoyed the updated and really liked the addition of Rhett and Dallas. I’m not sure how I feel about the new doctor and hope he grows on me as I continue the series. I’m anxiously awaiting Clint and Mavis to acknowledge there interest as well. I’m not typically a fan of old westerner romance but I have enjoyed this series so fan and will continue to read them in hopes of a happy ending for all my beloved citizens of Eden.

Designer Hats

Book two in the Colorado Hearts series, this story focused on Lavinia Brinkman and Rhett Laughlin. It deals more with the sisters settling into life in Eden, and the conclusion of their first six months there. I found the book a bit slow and boring. The few incidents were quickly resolved and I didn’t find anything memorable about the story. It is, however, well-written with likable characters. In spite of my bland review, I am going to read book three, the final book in the series.

True Heart's Desire - What a Good Read!

True Heart's Desire is a book about the girls in a family who were to inherit a ranch and then develop the ranch in such a way that they and their guests would enjoy the activities offered. Unfortunately, community members decided they should obtain the horses on the ranch and use them for their own purposes. Thus begins this book. Read to see how everything is resolved. I really enjoyed True Heart's Desire and hope you enjoy it also.

True Heart's Desire continues the story of the five Brinkman sisters, focusing on Lavinia. I enjoy all the characters in this series - both the new characters and the ones introduced previously. This book can be read on its own. You don't need to have read the previous book to enjoy this one, but the first book provides background that fills in the story.

I received an ARC from the publisher through NetGalley.
