The Grumpy Chicken Pub is infiltrated by a famous Ghost Hunting television show and our ghost chicken is not amused. When one of the ghost hunting crew ends up on the opposite side of the living, Ginger and her ragtag of misfits leap into action. Will the Grumpy Chicken ghost help solve the crime like before, or are there more ghosts to contend with?
Find out in this next installment of The Grumpy Chicken Irish Pub Series.
Constance Barker lives in the Midwest with her husband and two Akitas where she can look out from her screened porch onto a wooded area brimming with activity. Since she was a young girl she read mysteries, often given to her by her grandmother. She loved figuring out who the culprit was and sometimes she was right and other times startled at who the author picked as the assailant. Now she enjoys writing mysteries herself. When she isn't writing stories, she can be found in her favorite vacation spot, Las Vegas or shopping for bargains.
After the first murder in years, things have gotten back to normal at the Grumpy Chicken until a paranormal reality show comes to town to film an episode at the pub. Excitement builds, and suddenly the host dies mysteriously, forcing the Chicken to shut down food service and drawing Ginger and the gang to solve the death. Though the story takes a predictable plot twist, I thought it was entertaining to read all the same. Looking forward to more adventures at the Grumpy Chicken.
The second book in the series and the second murder that has to be solved! This time Ginger's dad, Tom, has convinced the Ghost Hunter TV show to come to the Pub and check out the ghost chicken. The taping has barely begun when one of the co-hosts, Zach, playing one of his tricks, accidentally dies. Right there in the restaurant kitchen area. Once again the gang who think they are the crime solvers of the town jump into action.
The book has a cooperative group of misfits who are willing to spend much of the night watching the filming while spending much of the day trying to find the murderer. It is fun to watch them suggest ideas and see which ones actually get carried out. Even those that do come into fruition have some hilarious repercussions. Why would you throw a rock against a window instead of pebbles?
Ginger was a highly motivated sleuth, and she managed to keep her crew under better control the second time around. With everything else going on, the ghost chicken didn't have very many cameos in this story. However, I have a feeling that there is more on that subject to come.
It was also nice to learn a little about Ginger's childhood and mother. I am hoping as the series continues we will get more insight on her family and background and why she seems to stay away from the men. You know, get to know her better!
PLEASE NOTE: The title is Treachery on Tap (Grumpy Chicken Irish PUB series-not Put!

I look forward to more visits to the Grumpy Chicken Irish Pub!!! I received this book as an ARC. I am voluntarily posting this review. Each book can be standalone. Much better as series. Ongoing story and cast of chacacters.
The Grumpy Chicken Irish Pub has been invaded by Ghost Hunters who had heard about the Grumpy Chicken Ghost. While the main host is obnoxious and full of himself most of the rest of the team nice enough. When that host ends up dead there are several possible suspects. While the death is being investigated the pub must be closed and Ginger, the manager, is worried because of the lack of income. She and her team of friends decide to help with the investigation to get her business back open as soon as possible.
While this story was okay it did not keep me engrossed. I did not feel any real empathy for any of the characters. In fact they mostly seemed quite shallow to me.
The Grumpy Chicken Irish Pub is visited by a reality show exploring ghosts. During the first filming, four blue blobs that appear to be ghostly mice are found moving around under a regular customer’s favorite bar stool. And, a prank goes wrong with murder suspected. The Grumpy Chicken crime solving gang is once again in action. This is particularly important so that the restaurant kitchen can once again open for business. With a bit of questionable antics, the help of the gang’s computer wiz, and some good deductive reasoning, the crime is finally solved. But, was there any proof of a ghostly Grumpy Chicken?
Quick read, but still enjoyable. I love how the ghost chicken works itself around the narrative. I'm also happy to be back in the gang again. The author has created clear, empathetic characters that are just so engaging.
And the fake swearing? It gets better and better.
I would have liked to see more of the coffee shop host. It seemed like that character was going somewhere and we didn't see his story fully develop. Still a fun read.
As always a pleasing storyline and lots of jokes and mysteries. A good whodunnit with just enough silliness. The characters who are regulars at the pub never fail to entertain.
Only book two and I'm already hooked on the Grumpy Chicken but I shouldn't be surprised I love all of Constance Bakers if you love a great cozy then these are a must read
Second in a series about the Grumpy chicken Irish pub series. It continues the story of the ghost chicken that haunts the pub. In this book the pub has a TV show setting out to prove the story of the ghost and the host winds up dead by an unusual manner.
Finished reading the 2nd book in the series and I'm glad I continued. The second book was better then the first and a fun read. This book had more involvement of looking for clues outside the pub.
Once again Constance Barker was out done herself in this funny paranormal mystery series The Grumpy Chicken Irish Pub. Book 2 Treachery On Tap was a funny and sad as was A Frosty Mug of Murder book1 was. I wish I could visit The Grumpy Chicken and get to know everyone it would be a blast. Constance Barker please keep this series coming.
A wonderful romp in the haunted pub. Ghost hunters have descended to capture evidence of the ghost. However when one suddenly becomes deceased it is up to the crew of the Grumpy Chicken to save the day. Wonderful characters and a great humorous plot that will have you chuckling (or clucking) until the end. Wonderful series
