Cameron Westcott has spent eight years recovering from heartbreak by keeping romantic entanglements casual and simple. He’s never minded being called a manwhore, but after two years immersing himself in his new winery, he might be ready for the next chapter. Especially when he meets a sexy wine distributor—only she says she isn’t interested.

Following a bitter divorce, Brooke Ellis relocated to Ribbon Ridge to rebuild her life. Things will never be the same for her, and she’s coming to terms with that reality when she meets charming, persistent Cam. She can’t imagine a happy ever after given his reputation, but he makes her feel so good.

As the sparks between them intensify, they’re both hesitant to commit for very different reasons. Or are they really just sabotaging their own futures? If they can trust each other—and themselves—they may realize that what they share is too good to let slip away.

So Good (Ribbon Ridge- Love on the Vine #1) by Darcy Burke is a 2016 publication. I was provided a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This first book of a new series by Darcy Burke returns to Ribbon Ridge with a new cast of characters. The series opener lays a solid foundation for what is sure to be an outstanding arc for Ribbon Ridge fans.

This book started off with a light and flirty tone, with some pretty sharp banter, and saucy conversation between Cam and Brooke. There are some super charged sparks flying between these two, but when one zigs the other one zags. But, even when they seem to finally land on the same page, a sensitive issue for the couple and for their extended families could throw a wet blanket over everything.

The light and breezy tone that initially grabbed my attention slowly evolved into a very emotional story, that choked me up a little bit. Cam and Brooke both have issues to overcome, both needed a good talking to, on occasion, but overall, they are a dynamic couple, and it was fun to watch them go through the paces of their relationship, seeing them fall in love, and work through the obstacles in the way of their happily ever after.

Although my heart was heavy with sadness for Brooke, and I hated to see her feel such disappointment, Cam really won my heart, and boy did his character go through some changes! I loved watching him transform and step up to plate for Brooke, who deserves every good thing he has to offer.

Overall, I loved the small town setting, the winery, the family and friends that surrounded the couple, and the way the romance built to a crescendo, with just the right touch of drama and emotion. I can’t wait for book two in the series and hope there is an update on Cam and Brooke soon.

I read several of the other books in Darcy's Ribbon Ridge series and even though I could never ever keep the characters straight, I really enjoyed them. So when I saw there was a new series in the same world, I couldn't wait.

I loved Brooke and Cam. Their banter is spot on and the chemistry and UST is palpable in ever scene. They're both good, likable characters.

My downfall with this book was all of the push and pull and drama. And there was a lot of it. Brooke has a bit of a secret and they've both been hurt in the past. All of that coupled with the truth equals a mess.

Overall, it was a quick and mostly fun read. I loved seeing the characters from the other books and I look forward to the next in the series.

**Huge thanks to Darcy Burke and NetGalley for providing the arc in exchange for an honest review**

I am so glad that after Burke wrote the Archers that she didn't stop there. I really loved the Westcott boys and wanted their stories, now I'm going to be able to get them.

You learn about the Westcott brothers in Dylan's book, Only in My Dreams. From then on I wanted to know more. What can I say, I'm nosy. I'm a authors dream reader. All they need to do is mention someone and I have to know about them.

Drives me up a wall. Ha!

You might get a glace of the brothers in Dylan's book but you really get to know them in Hayden's book, You're Still the One. That where this off shoot of the series comes from. Being a HUGE fan of the Ribbon Ridge series I'm going to tell you to read that first then start the Ribbon Ridge: Love on the Vine series. It will give you a better feel for the area and the people. Plus you'll get to know Hayden and his family who make appearances in So Good.

Cameron Westcott is up first. The player of the family. I've got to tell you that I got tired of everyone saying that. In fact it's one of the reasons Brooke didn't want to date him. It kind of bugged me that neither his friends or family along with Brooke really took the time to notice how much his life had changed. It made me a little mad.

This is one of the reasons I really enjoy her books. They often both piss me off and make me tear up. My emotions get a workout that's for sure.

Now don't get me wrong I really liked Brooke, but sometimes....

I did forgive her a lot because I too have dealt with some of what she's dealing with in her life and talking about it isn't always easy. See what I did here? Now you'll really want to know what I'm talking about and have to read the book.

My job here is done!

As a whole, the book is very enjoyable and like I said your emotions will run the gambit. A ton of ups and downs. After I was done I couldn't wait to read the next one which is called So Right and is out in January.

So, this is the first book in a new series but also the seventh book in the Ribbon Ridge series. Although this could easily be read as a standalone, it was obvious that it was a follow on book to at least one previous book.

I felt that this book kept to-ing and fro-ing, and that was mainly due to Brooke - I wasn't a fan. Right from the start she vacillated and frankly wanted her cake and to eat it too.

Cam, his brother's and his best friend have set up a winery. Eight years ago his girlfriend (soon to be fiancée) brutally dumped him for a man with more money and made it clear that money was all she cared about. Since then he became known as a player with a girl in every town when he was a travelling wine salesman. However, since opening the winery eight months ago he has become a bit of a hermit.

Brooke is still smarting from her divorce a few years ago. Her husband cheated on her with someone from work whilst she was trying to come to terms with her inability to have children. Speaking as someone who is also unable to have children I found her self-pity and absorption tedious beyond measure- maybe I just didn't want children as badly as she did. Her fertility colours her entire life, she won't commit, won't date, won't envisage getting serious with a man.

Brooke gets a job marketing Cam's wine, although TBH we never really see or hear of her doing anything about it, the novel mainly takes place at various parties and functions to promote wine organised by Cam or other wineries. Cam flirts with Brooke and she blows hot and cold; flirting one minute then giving him the cold shoulder. They both agree for their professional relationship info should go no further - and then promptly go further in the toilets at a function!

I think overall I found this was written like a sweet, small town category romance with lots of sex scenes, which seemed odd, but my irritation with Brooke just made me want to tell her to Man Up.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

A Wonderful, Entertaining & Romantic Story.

A Wonderful Story.

A touching Story. I truly felt for Brooke.
Cameron & Brooke are so fun together, they were wonderfulcharacters. The beginning of the Story is so funny because of the banter these 2 try as they may they are Zig Zagging around each other.
After coming together as business associates they have a connection that has them falling for one another.
They both have pasts that end up coming out that ends up tearing them apart.
Will they offer their secrets or end up questioning what could have been?

•••••••••••

REVIEW: 3.75 stars--SO GOOD is the first installment in Darcy Burke’s contemporary, adult LOVE ON THE VINE romance series focusing on the Westcott brothers of Ribbon Ridge. This is vintner and winery owner Cameron (Cam) Westcott, and wine distributor Brooke Ellis’s story line. LOVE ON THE VINE is a spin off from Burke’s Ribbon Ridge series. We were first introduced to Cameron and his brothers (Luke and Jamie) in You’re Still the One (Ribbon Ridge #6). You do not have to read the original series to follow the premise of SO GOOD but I recommend reading You’re Still the One for some backstory about the brothers and their new winery business.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Cam and Brooke) SO GOOD focuses on the start up of Cam, Jamie, and Luke Westcott, and Hayden Archer’s new winery West Arch Estates, and the building relationship between Ribbon Ridge newcomer and wholesale wine distributor Brooke Ellis and our story line hero. There is a side story developing as Brooke and a number of the Archer significant others begin to research the historical significance of the town of Ribbon Ridge.

Brooke and Cam met under less than auspicious circumstances at the annual International Pinot Noir Celebration near Ribbon Ridge Oregon, although the sparks flew from the outset. Brooke wanted nothing to do with a man she believed to be a player- a reputation as a manwhore had preceded Cameron Westcott’s introduction. When Cam offers Brooke a position within the company to help promote their wines, a line has been drawn about sleeping with the boss, and a line that is crossed several times. What ensues is Cam’s pursuit of the woman that calls to his heart, and Brooke’s continuous need to push Cam away knowing that she can never give him the future that he wants.

The relationship between Cam and Brooke is a push and pull, back and forth, yes and no, frustrating match up as our heroine is afraid about what the future may bring. Both Brooke and Cam have experienced heartbreak in the past but Brooke’s pain is compounded with personal loss. Throughout the story, Cam makes several attempts to woo and seduce out story line heroine only to be rejected time and again, or in a haze of morning-after guilt and punishment. The $ex scenes are intimate and seductive.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Cam’s brothers Jamie and Luke, a number of the Archer clan including Cam’s best friend Hayden and his wife Bex, as well as Brooke’s new BFF, and Ribbon Ridge librarian Kelsey McDade. Kelsey and Luke’s story will be told next in SO RIGHT.

SO GOOD is a story with plenty of sexual banter between Cam and Brooke, enveloped by the angst of too much drama, secrets and lies. Brooke refuses to acknowledge the truth whenever Cam questions our heroine about her past, and when the truth is finally revealed Cam is blindsided once again. There is a distinct lack of communication and mystery about Brooke’s past that added to the already tense morning after scenarios. The premise is entertaining and engaging; the characters are passionate and energetic although Brooke’s hot and cold reactions were a little over the top; the romance is a bit of a struggle towards a happily ever after.

DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH NET GALLEY IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW. RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!

This is a spin off of the author's Ribbon Ridge series. While this book can stand alone, I found that it was enriched by having read the entire Ribbon Ridge series that preceded it, especially You're Still the One.

This story itself has me rather conflicted. On one hand, it was a quick and somewhat entertaining read, but on the other hand, it had me wanting to strangle the two main characters! They kept holding back their pasts, and it left them unable to really get a relationship going, especially since they worked together and were reluctant to do anything that jeopardized that dynamic. Yet, they both wanted to act on their attraction to one another and the starts and sudden stops on that front got quite annoying!

Everything came to a head in the last 30% of the book, and the resolution felt rather rushed. There was a lot of meddling going on and the main characters really didn't communicate well with each other. It made me feel as though the main focus of their relationship was the sexual aspect, even though they hadn't had one for much of the book. I also felt that the author missed an opportunity when it came to Brooke. Her previous Ribbon Ridge books were very emotional and enlightening reads for me, and yet when it came to Brooke and her situation, I felt very detached from it all. I felt she could have delved into greater depth about possible solutions to the situation and discussed more in depth about what Brooke had previously done to resolve it. It would have been somewhat educational as to what other women in that situation might go through, and instead it felt like the author hadn't wanted to do much research for this story.

I did enjoy the historical turn that this book took, and how we got to see more of the community/town, rather than just focusing on the Archer businesses and aspect of things. It made what I already knew really come alive. All things considered, I'd probably continue with the new series, but I'd hesitate on purchasing this book or subsequent ones.

I know that I am not the only fan that was relieved that the Ribbon Ridge series novels weren't over, they just branched off to the Love On The Vine with it's sexy Westcott brothers! In SO GOOD, we have the sexy bad boy Cameron meeting his match with the feisty, yet wary Brooke Ellis.
What a roller coaster of a romance this book is, filled with sexy sass as well as heart tugging emotion. Brooke is smarting from a painful divorce, so she has no interest in dating men who are players when she finally decides to dip her toes in the dating world. She decides to concentrate on her career, but of course she meets the one man she shouldn't want, Cam Westcott, yeah, the one with the reputation as a player! What she doesn't realize is that he has had some heartache in his life, too. He's a guy and not going to admit it to anyone. When she tells him that she isn't interested, that intrigues the hell out of him and the game is on.
The electricity between the two is hot and sexy as they taunt each other while trying to ignore their increasing attraction. At first, they agree to be friends. Their problem is the tension is getting to them and they can hardly keep their hands off each other, but then something always comes between them to damper the fire. It's hard as they can't ignore the embers which always flare up between them. Finally, they begin to take a chance on moving forward together, but their hurt and baggage take it's toll. They have the chemistry, but need to take a refresher in Communication 101! They have a falling out after Brooke gets some upsetting news and finally shares her painful past. Eventually after he calms down, Cam realizes that he does want a chance of a future with Brooke and he comes thru in a beautiful way. Emotional here! All I know is that I was holding my breath waiting for them to stop sabotaging their new found love and take that big chance on each other.
Phew, what a ride!
I love Darcy's writing and how she has you become emotionally involved with the characters who are full of depth and heart. The way that Cam and Brooke communicated was realistic and it made them so human with all the pain and the joy until they found their happily ever after. The only bad thing is the wait for the next story!

Darcy Burke makes my heart feel So Good!!

I got absolutely and completely lost into So Good!! So Good was like an attached limb as I could not part with it until I turned the very last page. Even then I had an extremely hard time saying goodbye to these people. Yes, people. Darcy is so good that they are not just characters in a book but actual people that you know and love.

So Good is laugh out loud fun, downright sexy, witty and just so full of personality. It's like this book has it's own heartbeat!

The dynamic between Cam and Brooke is ADDICTING!!! I could not get enough of these two! I was so torn because I could not wait for these two to get their happily ever after, but I knew once they did, the book would be over. I did NOT want So Good to end!!! Cam and Brooke are both dealing with painful breakups and are not ready to move on to something else, but the sparks fly when they meet each other and it's like they don't even have a choice. Watching these two get over their painful pasts and learn to love again is RIVETING! I was completely held prisoner by So Good!

I ABSOLUTELY recommend this book! In fact, I guarantee if you don't read this... you will be missing out!!! Squee!! I can't wait for what comes next!

I had a little trouble getting into this story at first. There was an immediate push and pull going on between Cam and Brooke that started to get a little frustrating. Then finally things started to fall in to place and it seemed as though they were actually going to give into their feelings and I couldn't get to that part quick enough.

I really enjoyed the banter and sexual tension they had going on and when they finally gave in it to it, it was a huge relief and I couldn't wait to see how things progressed from there. Then suddenly things weren't really progressing, they just happened. The relationship between Cam and Brooke felt a bit like it went from zero to ten in a matter of days (or pages if you will). One minute they were fighting their attraction and the next they were jumping headfirst into more.

They were both dealing with hurtful and heartbreaking pasts and Brooke was keeping a secret that could be a deal breaker, so I get the push and pull and the wanting to take it slow because they were both unsure. I guess I just would've liked to have read more about them while they were trying to wade through their doubts and fears and figuring out how to be together rather than having so much of the book surround them fighting the idea before it ever took root.

Aside from the change in pace of the story, I enjoyed this book for the close-knit family feel it gave and the sweet, sexy romance it was. I liked both Cam and Brooke and think that the author developed them nicely, even if Cam sometimes got a bad rep for being a player when I don't think that's what who was at all.

I won't hesitate to read more in this series. I'm actually really excited to read about Kelsey and Luke in the next book.

I enjoyed the Ribbon Ridge series, so when I saw there were more books set in the same town, I was definitely interested. In a lot of ways, with the characters you encounter, it was like coming home. But with new characters, and a new story. The Ribbon Ridge books have a central theme that is a little heavy, not in a bad way, but this book has a lighter feel, which I enjoyed.

This book, quite honestly, was a pleasure to read. It was lighter, but it had depth. Cameron and Brooke are both appealing and like-able, and their path to romance is fun to watch and be a part of.

Darcy Burke is a favorite, go to author for me because she tells stories with characters who fell real. You could walk up to them on the street and talk to them, ask them about their family, work, their lives...because you feel like you know them at the end of the book.

The pacing is strong, the characters are compelling and the plot is believable. What you get when you read this book is a good book that is well put together and a pleasure to read. I recommend this book.

Excellent start to a new series, a spin off from Ribbon Ridge with characters from that series making an appearance in the new story. Ms Burke is a gifted writer who has impeccable insight into what her readers want to see. The story between Cameron and Brooke is a case in point.

There is wonderful chemistry between Cam and Brooke, their banter was delightful, their attraction to each other was magnetic (pun intended!). The story started out light hearted but the more we learned about the characters, the deeper the story delved into past heartbreak. The buildup to the ending was very well done.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and its characters...looking forward to more of the series.

So Unexpectedly Good

I really didn't want to like this book because it does check all the boxes of a typical contemporary romance, but it sucked me in and I'm intrigued enough to read book 2. At times I did feel like the storyline got a little cramped with characters in an effort to introduce everyone necessary for the overall series; however, it wasn't overly forced and the continuing storylines are not obnoxious cliffhangers - they're feasible and realistic. I like the various characters - yes, Brooke and Cam's drama got a little over the top in the back and forth, but the premise for it made sense and was relatable. I think my favorite part of the book was the focus on various friendships and family - and the various dynamics such relationships can create. Definitely will be reading the rest of this series and see myself looking into other books Burke has published.

Emotional, beautiful, romantic

A beautiful emotional story, quite relatable to real life situations
Brook wasted so much time denying herself of pursuing a good relationship because she so busy coming to her own conclusion. Instead of telling Cam the truth so he can decide what he wants, she hurt him by lying. No relationship can work without honesty, no matter how painful it is to make yourself venerable it is what is needed for us to create bonds. Cam also needed to talk to Brook about how he was feeling, apart from the amzing chemistry honest between them, communication is a most important ingredient in having solid relationships. They both learnt that if they love each other, dealing with their concerns together is what they needed to do

Easy read

A little disjointed with who belonged to who and Brooke (heroine) could be annoying at times however for the most part I did enjoy reading this novel. The story is good but it lacked depth and a lot more could have been put in instead of endlessly drawing out scenes. Cam (the hero) is a great character and I enjoyed his sense of fun and commitment to himself. The constant referral to their exes, her ex-husband his girlfriend, was painful and I would have liked to know more about them in one fell swoop instead of dropping sentences in different chapters like a scavenger hunt. Read it for yourself 3 Stars from me.

So Good is a romance in Oregon's wine country between Cameron Westcott and Brooke Ellis. They have a lot in common including a love for wine and working in the wine industry.

They are both careful about starting a relationship. Brooke is divorced, still hurting and distrustful of men. Cameron ex-girlfriend betrayed him eight years ago and he still has issues with getting close to a woman and trusting her.

The relationship develops because the heart wants what the heart wants and they can't resist the pull to each other. This is a cute couple with interfering families and big personal issues but mature adults that find what they need in each other too. I enjoyed So Good.

I always love going back to Ribbon Ridge. It like a reunion every time I come back! Cameron and Brooke's story was everything and more. I was rooting for them from the very beginning. I love how Cameron wasn't giving up on Brooke. They both had issues about love for different reason but they worked it out the best they could. They each had family and friends helping along the way which I loved. In the end everything turned out the way it was suppose to for them. Can't wait to see what they are up to in Luke and Kelsey's book.

I really enjoyed the premise of the book and the locations. I even learnt a little more about wine! This was very much an inevitable ending with some road blocks along the way. The characters were well developed although I can't really say I liked Brooke all that much despite the tragedies of her past. All in all it was an entertaining read which left some hooks to entice you to read the next in the series.

Sweet tumultuous romance

This started out as a avoidance story, but the chemistry between the H & H could not be denied. However Brook made decisions for Cam without him even knowing. Then the phone call avoidance and then no calls at all this was just had page filler. The mixed messages and rapidly shifting moods and attitudes by Brook was also disappointing. The story did redeemed itself in the end. Ok read.

Great characters, wonderful town and hot romance, what more do you need?

I’m so in love with Ribbon Ridge and it’s inhabitants! This story depicts the coming together of two people that deserve love, at the wrong time. I enjoyed their banter and flirting, the push and pull of their attraction, and the absolutely hot, steamy sex when they come together. A satisfying romance and I hope to meet this couple in subsequent books.

Pure unadulterated Chick Lit set in Oregon wine country. Brooke and Cameron meet, are attracted to each other, but both have pasts that make them very reluctant to get into any kind of relationship, split because of their reluctance. How this is all accomplished is the main plot and it is well done. The characters are engaging. 3.5 stars raised to a 4. Thanks to the author and publisher for an e-galley for an honest review.

Cam and Brooke

They were attracted from the start. But Cam was a girl in every town kind of guy and Brooke wasn't interested in that kind of guy. Cam, his two brothers, and best friend were starting a winery. Brooke worked for a distributor for wines. They both were coming off bad relationships not wanting to start something new but the attraction just grew stronger.
A great story with characters you'd love to meet.

Second chance in love. Family saga. Friendship. Wine. Vineyard. Good banter and camaraderie. All these and more in this book. Cameron and Brooke were heartbroken from their previous relationships, once bitten, twice shy. But they manage to be with each other in the end.
The title is apt, it's so good.

Very Enjoyable Read

This a sweet story about two wounded souls that are afraid to risk another chance at love.
Both Cam and Brooke are endearing and relatable characters, the side characters add a valued sense of family and hilarity and there is just the right amount of steam to suit the tone of the book.

Love in wine country

Cameron and Brooke are drawn to each other ,both involved in the wine business. Both have avoided love because of prior bad experiences. Brooke is infertile which makes her push her love away. Love does win out.
