Release date for #5...this is killing me?? It's like holding chocolate in front of a starving woman and telling her she can't have any....I LOVE THIS SERIES!!!
I'm going to go against the grain and say that the author has watched Pretty Woman one too many times. :p Quite a few instances in these 4 installments I have read almost direct quotes of conversation from the movie or scenes that are pretty much bang on.
I've not read any of her other serials, but I can't say that this one is amazingly wonderful. I'll hang in there and read the 5th and what I hope is the final installment in this, but needless to say, it did not really suck me in.
There does not seem to much of a plot, and if there is not much of a plot, then I want amazing sex, which IMO this book also failed in. The sex scenes between Avery and Sean seem awkward and...just bad. His portfolio said he wanted a virgin to teach her, but what little sex they've had (bc they've both been too busy having drama and woe is me episodes), including the first time, there has not been much teaching. He paid a lot of money to have her for the weekend, but he's too wrapped up in his personal woes/drama to really make any use of her.
I also read this weekend a book by Abbi Glines (Fallen Too Far) that did a much better job of a first sexual experience for a girl. There was just something about their relationship, emotionally & sexually that did not ring true for me. I just did not feel much connection to the characters.
That said, these are short quick reads and I may give her a 2nd chance try one of her other serials.
OMG OMG OMG!!!!! Holy shit all I can say right now is NOOOOOOOOO!!! That ending is killing me.
This 4th installment had me feeling so much despair for poor Avery. I wanted to kick Sean in the balls!! Why does he keep showing her this wonderful charismatic side of himself and then when things get too real, he does a 180 into doucheville?!!!! Avery tells him she loves him and he sends her back to Miss Black. Avery in a fit of rage throws a bunch of cash in his face, cash Miss Black gave as an advance to buy some clothes. Apparently it's enough to buy a new car. Now poor Avery has to pay it back by working her ass off for free for Miss Black. I cringed when thinking what kind of jobs she would send our poor girl out on.
She's so almost completely broken at this point. The man she loves just threw her away. Her beloved parents are both dead. She's in jeopardy of losing her scholarship. She's in such dire straits she has to become a hooker to get by.
My stomach twists like I'm going to be sick. I gave him my heart and he fucking returned me--like I was broken."
I kept thinking, holy hell how much more can this poor girl take??? When is Avery going to get a break here?!!! What the fuck is up with Sean?!!! I know, he's mourning his dead wife, but to totally obliterate this poor girl is just unforgivable. Avery keeps going on. She has tenacity!
Life keeps bitch slapping me, but I keep getting up
Things like the sky and the sea calm me. They remind me how small I am. Maybe that makes other people feel lost, but it makes me feel like my problems aren't so large, like maybe I can really survive this life and all the things that have happened to me. If a grain of sand can stand to be pounded by the sea, then I can take the beating I've been handed.
She runs into Sean again after having not seen him since he kicked her ass to the curb and to her dismay, she's still affected by him.
It feels like my heart has become a black hole and my entire body is being crushed and sucked into the massive force. My chest aches, it literally aches to have him so close."
Sean tries to reach out to her but at this point she's trying to close her heart to him. Just one more go around with him will completely obliterate what's left of her heart and soul.
Ok so there was only one thing I didn't like about this one. I noticed a couple of scenes were extremely close to some popular scenes in the movie Pretty Woman. Could have done without that. This story can hold its own without borrowing from a popular 1989 movie!!!
Also I just have to get this off my chest. Mel is a HORRIBLE FUCKING BEST FRIEND!!!! Who the hell convinces their best friend, who is a VIRGIN, to become a HOOKER!!????? Ok that's all I had to say about that bitch!
This book ends on a HORRIBLY DEVASTATING note!!! OMG I can't take it. Things have to work out in book 5!!! I totally freaking love these books and I still love Sean too!!!! He redeemed himself in my eyes!
I said I wasn't going to read these, because I thought it was ridiculous of Ms. Ward to demand 2.99 for an installment (which apparently she is drawing out to capitalize on as much money as she can- since there are now 10 installments). at 2.99 a pop, that means that for $29.99 you have read all ten installments (with apparently more to come)- legit best selling authors don't even get that much for honest Hard-Cover books let alone E-Books, let alone 20,000 word installments! Ive stopped at six because I realized I would much rather spend sixteen dollars reading either a handful of decent books or two books from good authors than be swindled out of reading anymore of these.
Yes, her story idea is a good one, and her writing is decent (grammatical errors, plot holes and lack of attention to detail not-withstanding). However, I won't tolerate an author who draws out these installments for the sake of financial gain, and in doing so is lifting story lines from other authors and movies just so that she can pad these stories and fill in the holes. I can tell what books and/or movies Ms. Ward has been watching or reading during each of these installments. Did you think no one would notice that you have essentially lifted scenes from Pretty Woman and inserted them into this book? Escargot and a red dress? Really?
A gross disappointment. If I had spent even $5.99 on the full novel (not these ridiculous installments) and I would have noticed the story similarities I probably would have looked the other way- however, it is egregiousness in its highest form to continue to pillage from your dedicated readership by serving them repurposed plots that don't even belong to you.
WHY DOES EVERY NOVELLA IN THIS SERIES END ON A MOTHER-CLIFFHANGER??!!
WHY CAN'T AVERY CATCH A FREAKIN' BREAK??!!
I can only blame myself**sigh**. I shall take the full responsibility of blame for reacting the way I do**sigh**. But honestly, Mz. Ward? can you BLAME me for these reactions??!! No seriously, I love your work--he,he!
The fourth installment in this wickedly awesome series sees avery literally break-down in her anguish over Sean--you arrogant bastard!--and his utter disregard and cold reception to her admittance of feelings. As is usual we pick up right where we left off: Avery is wandering the streets in pain and complete helplessness after telling Sean how she feels. He has returned her.
YES. YOU READ CORRECTLY. THE BASTARD OF DICKLAND HAS RETURNED AVERY TO HER PIMPTRESS.
Avery must now face Miss Black and beg for her job. She also now owes Miss Black the money she was advanced. That remains upstairs in the hotel. scattered at Mr. asshole's feet. after she stormed out.
YES. AVERY IS IN DEEP SHIT. THE DEEPEST OF SHIT. SHIT-DEEP.
But, Sean seems to be popping up everywhere, and Avery is trying to move on-unsuccessfully--despite Sean's persistence about wanting to talk to her. Things are not always what they seem and Sean obviously regrets letting her go. We sense this but never actually hear him admit it until a tragic turn for the worse...:(
CAN I TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS SERIES??!!
DO YOU THINK I CAN PATIENTLY WAIT FOR BOOK 5??!!
I will wait patiently, biding my time and being the masochist that I am, because like Avery, I am now a whore to this series and Mz. Ward is my pimp. LOL!
Avery doesn't think she can make it as a call girl. Her heart is to easily involved & she needs to remain detached in order to succeed in the business. When Sean pushes her away, it is more than she can handle & she tries to pick up the pieces to move forward. The only problem is this is the only job that will pay this kinds of money & she has to find a way to okay with it. When Avery is given her last chance to make a new client happy, she feels the pressure of having to get it right or her life will be over as she knows it. The new client hires Avery for a business meeting transaction as an escort & Avery soon feels right at home with him. But her worst nightmare starts to take shape in front of her as Sean ends up being the client's business meeting. Will Avery manage to pull it together or will she breakdown & lose everything?
The tug-a-war saga continues between Avery & Sean. Sean is so detached from who he plays to be & Avery cannot stop her heart from being involved. It's time for Avery to learn to stand on her own & be the strong woman she meant to be.
What the hell is wrong with writers there days??? I really have enjoyed these books but I feel scammed and this one was only 73 pages long. WTF!! I am not one to give bad reviews but when i start a series and I read it in just 30 minutes, I am mad! Laugh it up H.M. Ward knowing that you write good books and keept the audience with your short scam books. This was the shortest one of them all. I will finish this series only because I am curious but I WILL NOT BUY ANOTHER ONE OF YOUR BOOKS!!!!
Authors can write all these series in 1 book and put a reasonable price on them and people will enjoy them and not feel scammed! I know I would buy a book no matter the cost if it was good so instead of scamming your readers have a little pride and self respect to not screw with the people that make you your money.
Even though I'm enjoying the series, I think it's a rip off to readers selling chapters at $2.99 each. She is at 7 installments and counting. I feel duped for purchasing 3 of them since the first one was free. I will not be purchasing any more books from H M Ward.
As we learned in previous installments of the Arrangement series, Avery lacks stability in all areas of her life. Her family is gone and her graduation from college is questionable as well. All Avery Stanz has now is her friendships with Mel and Marty, two people who she holds dear. They continue to offer Avery emotional support, and some mad decorating skills as she navigates this dark time in her life.
In volume 4 of The Arrangement series, we continue to follow Avery Stanz as she navigates her way through a hellish life. She’s still broke, still without a decent form of transportation and has a close encounter with the unemployment line (if there is such a thing as unemployment for call-girls). Avery, now indebted to Miss Black, must continue her employment knowing that she’s not cut out for this business, but there is no other way for her to survive.
Avery has loved and lost not only her family, but Sean Ferro as well. She admittedly gave him her heart only for him to return it, and after a few run-ins, albeit unsuccessful, with the elusive Sean Ferro, Avery must continue her daily struggle to persevere, and there doesn't seem to be any light at the end of the tunnel.
Sean’s life is still shrouded in mystery, but will he give up all he has left for Avery, or was it Allison? The ending to volume 4 will leave Avery hanging by a thread to sanity as she may have lost the ability to protect her heart, but her mind as well.
You’ll have to read to find out!The Arrangement serial continues to offer gut-wrenching obstacles that leave readers yearning for more.
Avery is officially annoying me but I’ll continue with this series cause now I’m engaged. I don’t mind cliffhangers but I do mind 25 of them lol. I’m thankful these are short stories though so I’ll continue till the end as long as Avery gets more tolerable for me.
THE ARRANGEMENT SERIES "This story unfolds over the course of multiple short novels. Each one follows the continuing story of Avery Stanz and Sean Ferro."
Seriously, H.M Ward? (Yes, I'm talking to you!) Do you like to toy with me? Do you like cliffhangers THAT MUCH? You are killing me here. Don't let me fool you though, I'm loving every second of it.
I crave this series. I count down the days until I can get my next Avery and Sean fix. Each installment in this series has been an emotional roller coated ride. I love everything about this series from the characters to the story line to Ms. Ward's cliffhanger endings. This series is addicting. It has stolen my heart and my sanity. I strongly recommend this series.
I gave The Arrangement Volume 4 by H.M. Ward 4 STARS. The Arrangement Volume 4 was another AMAZING addition to this series. If you haven't jumped on The Arrangement bandwagon...do it NOW!
PS: At one point goodreads listed The Arrangement Volume 4 as the final installment in this series. I'm happy to report that Volume 4 ins't the final installment in this series. I'm extremely glad that Ms. Ward has decided to continue this series. For one, I didn't see how Sean ad Avery's story could be wrapped up in only one more installment. Plus, more installments means more Sean and Avery!! And who could complain about that. :)
Oh my God, Holly has so done it again!!!! While reading, I was happy, sad, laughed (out loud lots), angry and really tense by the end of it. She truly invokes every emotion in this 114 page volume!
I received my ARC (Advanced Reserved Copy) at 5 pm and am done it by 8 pm - that has to say something! I couldn't put my eReader down. I even read while walking and going to the bathroom (I know TMI!).

I truly LOVE her Best Friend Mel and looking forward to finding out more about Marty too... This latest volume has openned up a lot of routes for a lot more volumes! I look forward to the journey and hope you all do tooo!!!!
http://www.yaparanormalromance.com/ - Will give you more information on Ms. Wards fantastic library of books. She has truly become on of my most treasured Authors... Her imagination is somewhat of a dream to mine... Fantastic!

I am extremely grateful!!!! Now where's Volume 5???? LOL
I'll make this short. I love when people give long reviews, but I also appreciate the shorter, to the point ones, too. This one will be fairly frank... I love this little series. It would make a great book, if it were that; a book. I also wish it were listed somewhere when the next (and hopefully final--also no info on that) installment will be released. For those two reasons, I can only give this 4 starts. If it were just a regular old novel and we could end the pain and agony over waiting, this would be 5 strong stars...but alas, it's not. The nail on the coffin is that each short story (which all end in cliffhangers) costs $2.99. So, it's infuriating. If I were you and I could do it all over, I'd wait until all of the books were released. My list of sequels is too long to keep track of anymore.
I mainly bought these because I was curious as to how this author got to be a NY Times and Amazon best selling author. I'm still trying to figure it out. At the beginning it seemed like a mildly intriguing (although hardly original) story but it went on and on and over and over the same ground. Plus it had terrible grammar & typo's all over the place, and some of the most shocking clangers I have ever seen ("... the matching earrings she had bought to match the necklace ..." Hello?). All of that could have possibly been forgiven if there was some decent sex in the book, but no - that was terrible or non-existent too. Felt completely ripped off after buying 9 of these, and I will never buy any more books by this author. The only reason I even gave this two stars is for the sheer cheek of the author - a good lesson in clever marketing.
WOW!!!! This just keeps getting better and better. Not sure though how much I can take of these ending's over and over. I mean I am only 41, and not sure how much more my poor little heart can take. I mean it's killing me, just the wait alone.
With that said. the # 4 was AMAZINGGGGG. Can't wait for # 5.
I just hope that, this series doesn't go into the double digits. That would suck. I know we all want it to keep going; but it has got to come to a stop for our hearts sake, lol.
But when it does, let's just hope and pray, it's a good ending. That's all we ask for, since we had to wait so long, lol.
But these 4 books have been well written. Great Job!!!
Still reading this to figure out what the hype is about. I don't feel like I know the characters at all. By the time you think you know them, the book ends. I don't think that works in the author's favor at all. What she must fail to understand is this isn't a TV series. People want closure. Thankfully I only paid 2.99 for the first ebook and got the remaining 9 online. This should be one of those book sets for .99 cents on Amazon. Like the Billionaire series. It doesn't have enough drama/plot to stand alone as a novella or anything else for that matter. What can I say...
OHhhhhhHHHhh this is getting GOOD!!!!! I felt like I was having a heart attack when Sean was at the restaurant! I was right there with her and all her emotions!!! Gah this is good!!!
I don't know if I'm getting into it or if it's getting better ...but this one was more interesting. Avery is starting to get a little more back bone... even though she's still in the whoring business. Sean is still broody and mysterious. And with his shitty actions... but it still feels that he's falling for her against his better judgement. The drama with the knight in shining armor was a nice touch.
Ok, now this cliffhanger business has got to end, I was truly ticked when I finished the next book, just when you get into it, it stops, I literally sat up in bed and screamed and woke my husband up!!
I liked it. I just felt like it was filler. Building up o the next book. I def think that this and the next book should have just been combined. But I did like it.
