This is the first novel I read by Ata Nahayi, a Kurdish novelist from Baneh, Kurdistan Province. The novel in brief is about the fall of a Kurdish family set during 1940s, before and after invasion of the Allies in 1941, with the Soviets controlling the north part of Iran, and the rise and fall of Republic of Mahabad in 1946. It is not gripping, yet I like the flow of the novel, easy to read and follow the plot. The writer attention in here is on the characters think (psychological) and feeling (emotional), which I think could have been developed more. Yet, the juxtaposition and conflict of Muslim and Jewish community, to my eyes, is the strong point of the novel. I going to read his next novel https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...
