There are countless stories about grand romantic gestures, but sometimes the sweetest romantic gestures are the small ones. This is one of those stories.
Donna is one of the special few who recognizes a gesture of love when she sees it. Johnny never realized that he'd done anything special, until the day Donna's treasure breaks. He'll do anything in his power to make her happy.
Holly Jacobs leads a life full of romance and adventure. From skydiving to jet-setting around Europe, from snorkeling in coral reefs to writing while wearing beautiful silk peignoir sets and popping chocolate bonbons, Holly Jacobs leads a life that is the epitome of romance...
Well, my fictional life sounds more interesting, but not better than my real life. Really, I'm the happily married mother of four. I cook a lot, garden and weave baskets! I write for Montlake Romance and Harlequin. My books range from lighthearted comedies to more serious dramas...but at heart, they're all stories of love.
I don't always set out to write a series of books, but seem to find myself gravitating to them. Because so many people have asked, I've posted lists of all my series in order at www.hollyjacobs.com/bookseries.html. I really try to make each story stand alone, but many of my readers enjoy reading the series in order. Hope this helps!
Thank you to everyone who's picked up a single book, or more of them. I'm so lucky to be surrounded by so much support!
Such a simple story with such a wealth of emotion. Grand gestures are nice but truly the small everyday gestures are the true measure of a loving partner.
Never thought a day would come when I'd ugly cry over spoons, but then again, I cry over just about everything—kids, puppies, books, commercials, stubbing my toe, you name it. However, it doesn't take away from the fact that "Spoons," despite being a short-length book, enamored me with its genuineness and buoyant outlook on relationships. In this complex world, a love like Johnny and Donna's is a boon, a privilege, and certainly sets the tone for my own married life someday in the future (easy there with the proposals, boys!). This book was a wonderful read, one I'll always be coming back to and renewing my hope in true love.
PSA: Please don't ignore your injuries and get them checked out before they get too serious.
The story may be short but as Holly has always proven, right from the heart and very real. She takes the advice to write what you know and runs with it, doing excellently. I so enjoy sharing glimpses of the glee she shares with her family. Makes my days a bit brighter. Thanks Holly!
This was a nice little love story, it’s the small things that make up happy, enjoyed the storyline and really enjoyed the story about the Authors gift from her husband!
