“MOTHER’S DAY” part one! Talia al Ghul returns for her son Damian, whom she trained from birth to be an assassin. With the evil in Robin’s past finally revealed to Superboy, it might be too much for the Sons’ partnership to survive…especially when the boys find out her next victim is one of the most important people in their lives!

As much as I hate seeing Talia return to bring more drama to Damian’s life, we got some excellent moments between Jon and Damian as they discuss Damian’s past.
The chemistry is wonderful, as always! I loved seeing Jon try to bring Damian around to being more like the other kids. Jon is putting on a brave face throughout this whole thing but it’s clear he’s a little fearful of Damian’s past. I love how protective he is over Damian, too. He’s younger and more green but he was willing to fight Talia because Damian’s “isn’t a weapon. He’s my friend.”
Gotta say, coolest panel was Damian balancing on a sword’s blade. I was in awe!
I'd also like to say that I'm devastated this is being cancelled. I was excited about Bendis taking over Superman until it was announced that nearly all Super titles are getting the axe. 😒
Overall, I enjoyed the Talia al Ghul mini arc, but they continue to make her character more pathetic by the issue, and that's not a good thing. What I actually like is Damian's noticeable progress regarding his morals.
And seriously, Jorge Jimenez deserves way more praise!
Superboy gets to get a first hand look at the complex mother-son relationship between Robin and Talia. It really is a complete contrast to what Jon has with his parents. It was interesting to see Jon discover a lot of things Damian hasn't told him about his past, including that he is an ex-killer. I think what was most surprising was who Talia as is out to kill at the end of the issue. Definitely worth a read!
