Dr. Killian Kingston teaches organic chemistry to pre-med students. He’s grumpy, jaded, and loves to speak unprofessionally to his students. They’re all too intimidated to call him out on using such coarse and abusive language. He’s simply going through the motions of his day when a stunning transfer student becomes the object of his affection. And despair.

I downloaded this Amazon freebie because the cover caught my interest, but this story was all over the place. The assembly line of cliches, one dimensional characters, and condescending male lead character made this story difficult to connect with. The trumped-up family feud between Allegra and Killian was interesting, but he came off as a creepy, perverted, conspiratorial weirdo. The knife play scenes were descriptive, but this story was unsatisfying, overall. Killian’s initial declaration of hate for Allegra and her family was quickly shifted aside so he could seduce/dominate/throw himself at her. Of course.



Oh, and Allegra willingly gives Killian her virginity after meeting him briefly in class. Of course.

Hard to really get into the read and then it was over. Killian was a jerk not even like a redeemable jerk, just an angry bastard. He isn't nice to anyone not even his conquest, I don't like that he had a safeword then gaged to so she couldn't say anything. This was the first that featured knife play that resulted in actual cutting, I just wasn't into it, and then a big ole cliffhanger happened.

This was a completely unexpected decadent surprise!! Darkly addictive, pulled me right in, made me grin like a lunatic, and had me searching for the rest to buy in the middle of the night so I could find out the rest! Super short, but packs a punch!!

Looking for a short sinfully sexy, seductive, depraved and vengeful?! Well this is the book for you!!!! It will consume you to the very end and leave you begging for more. Killian Kingston is brilliant and successful, but he life has been about getting revenge on the Clyper family who took everything from him at a young age. Just when he thinks they are all gone, alluring Alegra walks through his doors and she is a Clyper!!!! Now Killian must decide whether he wants to finish what the Clypers started or unwrap the mystery that surrounds a beautiful broken girl.

What can I say about Marie Skye that I haven't said before?! She is a gifted and talented author that writes stories so mesmerising and brings out the visceral attachment, making them unforgettable. The characters are flawed & fractured, yet together they are dangerously perfect. I hope so much that there will be more on these characters and Sinister world, as it was intoxicating to read. I need, want, demand, beg for more!!!!! Amazing short novella that will hit all the right spots.

This book is about a doctor/medical professor (Killian Kingstone) whose family was destroyed by another family (the Clypers) who experimented on live subjects and seems to have killed people, even removing their organs. Killian only has a brother left and now lives to get revenge by killing all the Clypers. When a student (Alegra) enrolls in his class and he finds out her grandfather is one of the notorious Clypers, he decides he has to kill her, too. He has an unfortunate habit of cutting the women he sleeps with. When he finds out she has been a cutter of herself in the past (and enjoyed it), he ends up having rough sex with her and cutting her, even though she was a virgin. This was with her permission but all the rough stuff was rather hard to read. The big questions become: What if he falls in love with her and, if so, can he stick to his plan for revenge? Readers need to be warned that there is a clilffhanger, so they should be ready to read the next book to find out if there is an HEA.

3 1/2 Promising Stars!

Killian hates anyone “Clyper”. He almost loses it when Alegra Clyper walks into his classroom and catches his attention because she’s late and intriguing. Well aware of her famous family who are well respected, prominent physicians in the public eye, he knows the evil, sinister, self seeking truth in their hidden agenda. Hidden agendas that have ruined Killian’s family.

Turns out Alegra is innocent and untainted from the Clyper legacy. Adopted, and finding out her relationship to the Clypers after a blood test for her adopted father fails, she is not exactly thrilled with her connection to a family that gave her away. Killian and his cutting fetish really turned me off though. It was a little too kinky and twisted for my tastes.

I was warned that this was a very short story, but I was not expecting the HUGE cliffy at the end!

I read this book on my Kindle. It’s currently available on Amazon for purchase. This book is a dark romance. This book was okay but I didn’t like the main character Killian. He’s an asshole and there’s nothing redeemable about him. I didn’t like how he treated the women in this book and I didn’t like that this book has knife play in it. This was my first time reading dark romance. I don’t know if this genre is for me or not but I wanted to read something different.

Sadistic "knife play" more like blood play. And to each their own sp long as they are consenting adults.

Killian is more of an arrogant prick, the vulgar language butts head with the high level of education and the title he holds. While Killian, I'm sorry, Dr. KILLian is, in fact, a doctor. He seems like he truly doesn't care to hold the title. The, erotica scene seemed okay-ish until Killian opened his mouth at a later date about the topic of consent.

The only saving grace was the last chapter, and now I am intrigued. Do I still not like Killian? Yes, the female lead, Alegra, actually seems decent, deeming as her personality does shine through at certain moments.

Killian Kingston is a lecturer on organic chemistry and he is totally inappropriate He doesn't care who he iffends because after all his life totally revolves around revenge on the Clyper family and everything else is secondary. When Alegra an exchange student joins his class he is instantly drawn to her but she is a Clyper even though she has been disregarded since birth can he forget his vendetta against her family and can they have a future together. Sometimes the story line jumped around and was a little disjointed but not enough to destroy the storyline

This book is not a typical book that ends with an HEA so don't expect that. This book is drawing and you will want to read more. The author will make you want for the characters and make you want to continue to read more into the world she has created. It is a wonderful read and it does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to read more in this series. It is wonderfully written and I would recommend it to anyone.

This is so weird at the start.... how can a professor be so mean to the student?
But you know what, the author manages to make me keep reading it. I can't stop reading even though I know this is all so wrong.
One thing I'm not happy about this book... ITS TOO FUCKING SHORT
also A BIG CLIFFHANGER AT THE VERY END
I want the full story asap :)

While the storyline itself wasn't bad, I didn't much care for the book. It just wasn't for me. If you are into this sort of play then it would be a great read. I love dark reads, but this one just took it to a kind that wasn't within my interest. The writing was good, and the story of a man seeking vengeance for wrongs done to his family was interesting; that is why I have it the 3 stars.

Wow! This book is dark and so good. Killian is an arrogant doctor teaching a class he wants nothing to with. Enter Alegra, a student with a last name that makes him angry, but why? There is definite chemistry between these characters, but do they act upon it? While this is a Novella, I’m hoping this author makes it into a full length book! I really enjoyed this.

I really liked the engaging characters who have great chemistry and interaction that pulled me into their story.
