#BeWorthFollowing: How to Be Different and Influence People In a Crowded Social World
Spend just a few minutes on any of the major social media platforms and you’ll find that women are longing for encouragement, hope, purpose, connection, acceptance, and love, but yet, they’re not finding that. Instead, they’re finding story after story that is centered on fear. Terrorist attacks, cancer-causing foods, political worries—the list goes on. But even without external fears to contend with, women are fighting internal battles about their worth and abilities on a daily basis. Social media encourages people to compare their lives to the ones they see online. Comparison creates a habit of ungratefulness, an attitude of dissatisfaction, and pattern of envy and even judgmentalism. It’s no wonder women leave social media feeling worse rather than better. We’ve got to take charge of this. As women of faith and women in business and ministry, we have an online responsibility. If we want to get the most out of social media, we need to learn how to better contribute ourselves. We can choose to be intentional in what we post, what we share, what we comment on and what we promote. We can also be discerning in what we choose to read and believe online. This book, by social media specialist Jennifer Bennett, is not another “social media strategy” book. Instead, it’s a book that invites readers in all seasons of life to be women of integrity who make a difference online and in the lives of others. Women everywhere are online, regardless of how busy they are, and this book helps them be intentional and responsible with their social media activity. This is a book that can be applied to every part of life.

This book is for anyone who is tired of all the drama, vitriol and anger on social media. Can social media use be redeemed? The answer is a resounding, "YES!" I follow Jennifer on FB and have watched her book come to life throughout the process. I was delighted when I got my copy. It is useful for those in the workforce as well as those who use social media for personal use.
Jennifer weaves a self introspective thread through the entire book, which is made up of 14 chapters of helpful advice, practical tips and guidance. Are you the problem, or is social media? What type of image are you sharing on social media? These and many more questions are up for discussion.
I am also hopeful that this book could be adapted for use with teens...so many good life lessons and social media etiquette would be helpful as youth navigate the virtual world. Guidelines and advice in a youth setting for this issue would be a godsend for parents and those who work with young people. (Perhaps book #2?)

A must read if you want your social media messages to have eternal impact!!!
Social media is all the rage. How many likes, comments, engagement can you have? What are your #'s? That is what most people are looking at but what if we started to focus on the flip side? What if we shift the focus to what I hope is the new wave of social media and that is to #BeWorthFollowing. As I read this book it became a new friend. There were times I felt like Jennifer Bennett was writing just to me, like she could see directly into my heart, that she was answering questions I hadn't even begun to ask. It got me thinking about my message, it brought encouragement to things I was already doing. It had me stop to think about what discussions I get involved with or what I choose to step away from. It all matters. This book was a bright ray of sunshine, it was a breath of fresh air in a cluttered world. It isn't the average how too book, it is exceptional and very different. It will encourage you to step forward without fear, it will challenge you to not focus on the #'s but to let God take care of that, it exalts being unique, one of a kind, finding your own voice and not comparing or trying to be someone else. It asks thought provoking questions that will help you find your voice and share it. It is a must read that you should read several times to gleen every morsel that is available. I am working through it a second time and then will do a third read. I highly recommend it, in fact I wish I could give it a double 5 star rating. This book is for people who have decided not to live their lives as ordinary. It's for those who want their influence, integrity and time here on earth and in the world of social media to matter. I enjoyed this book because it challenged me to be better, to think before I post, and to pay attention to the conversations I listen to and engage in. You get everything in this book--social media practical tips and principles, life leadership lessons, an occasional laugh or two and speaking for myself, some stepped on toes. If you want to do social media right, no, scratch that. If you want to do life right, then equip yourself with Jennifer Bennett's book, #BeWorthFollowing.

Social media influences people in various ways. Some people are constantly checking their accounts. Other people don't check as often. In this powerful, inspirational book, the author reminds us of the impact of our words on social media. We have the opportunity to share words that uplift and encourage and lead people to God. What an amazing blessing to be a positive influence in the world! Great book. I received a copy of this book and this is my honest opinion. No review was required.

This book is an amazing commentary on how Christians should present themselves on social media. As I read this book, I constantly found myself agreeing with Dr. Jennifer Bennett. This book is deeply grounded in biblical truth while also offering practical tips I can employ immediately. Reading #BeWorthFollowing confirmed my thoughts of social media I had all along. Social media can and is used as a tool to show up in the world making connections with people from your home to their home. A place where you can be the hands and feet of Christ bringing light into others dark. Social media-online, is like the real world-offline. We must approach social media-online as we do life-offline by being intentional with our influence. We have the power, His power, to impact the world right at our finger tips.
I was so excited to find #BeWorthFollowing book as a cheering companion for what I already knew in my heart. A very powerful read, it's challenged me to ask hard questions in order to stay on the pathway He's called me to be a influential leader.
If you are someone who's passionate about making an impact, in your home or as a leader outside your home, in ministry, looking for guidance on your online platform, knows they've being called to serve and numbers just don't mean anything, in seminary, and someone who's looking for like minded people in the thought of making a positive impact your voice can have online and offline, this is a read for you!
The author has a on going community built around her message of #beworthfollowing on Facebook. A private group where she continues to shine her leadership for online and offline influence. She is "worth following"!
Who you are online is who you are offline and vs. who you are offline is who you are online. You have an opportunity to SHINE a light!

I just finished the book, #BeWorthFollowing. If you love being on social media and want to make a difference for the Kingdom of God this a must read. In this book, you will find words of encouragement that enable you to step out and be yourself, conquer fears and strengthen your presences on social media through prayer and God's guidance.
You will need a pen, highlighter and something to take notes. This book has too many good nuggets in it to not make it a reference book. You will want to take your time reading the book because it is full of humor, honesty, teaching, and knowledge that comes from Jennifer. She writes from her heart sharing her failures and success in #BeWorthFollowing.
I challenge you to purchase the book. I know there is something in it that will make you a better, teacher, minister, leader or entrepreneur. Make an impact on your world #BeWorthFollowing.

I am so thankful that this is not just another 'social media strategy' book...but one that really speaks to me as a woman of faith, a writer, and one whose desire is to let the light of Christ shine through all of my media interactions! Dr. Jennifer Bennett teaches us how to harness the power of social media for our ministries and our businesses for good...both our own and that of others.
Let's face it...most of the world is on social media these days...so we need to be both discerning and intentional in the way we engage. This book will give you encouraging ways, in line with God's Word, to be an influencer who is worth following.

I am taking forever getting through this book. Not because it's bad...but because it is SO good! As a Christian I find it hard to be involved on social media without it feeling forced or fake or pushy. Those aren't qualities God wants us to share with the world. This book really dives into different aspects of social media and how to really evaluate what you're doing, what you're posting and inspires you to create a different plan for your social media use. There are so many great nuggets of wisdom in this book! Every entrepreneur should read this!
