As an older dragon, Nyve's been waiting years for his fated mate. He just didn't think he'd be so... young. Austin is the breath of fresh air the alpha dragon needs, but Nyve can't help but worry about the age gap.
Austin feels stifled by his overprotective aunt, who took him in after his mother died mysteriously. As a half dragon, half wolf shifter, he's never felt like he's fit into either world. But he misses his mom—and meets his fated mate when getting a tattoo to remember her.
As Austin strives for independence while also learning to accept his mate, the guys at Treasured Ink learn more about a mysterious organization with a sinister motive attacking mythical shifters.
And it seems like Austin's distant father might be involved.
It's up to the dragons to get to the bottom of this—before someone they love gets hurt. And in the midst of it all, Nyve struggles to give his young mate the space he needs, while controlling his fear that he'll lose the one thing he's been waiting his whole life for.
Alpha Dragon: Nyve is the second in a steamy new mpreg romance series centered around alpha dragons who love ink and getting inked. Each couple gets a HEA, but the books are best enjoyed in order. Warning: this book is so hot it’ll scorch your pants off!
A fun, easy and sexy read... and dragon one of my favs. Gave it 4 stars cuz have a feeling this series will get better as it progresses. Like the fact that the couple stories are per book but the overall story arch is covered over the series. Particularly loved Austin, he has a lot put on his plate quickly and responds like a champion! Can't wait to see where things go next in this series!
I like how this story picks up and continues with the overall plot - someone is causing some trouble for shifters, mystical shifters especially. I like that all the guys are involved and we get to see what's going on.
I think that the plot will continue to get more interesting and I'm looking forward to continuing with this series.
2 and 1/2 stars rounded up to 3. I thought it was kind of boring. I had to force myself to keep reading. They didn’t solve the mystery, but I don’t care.
4.5 the plot thickens🐲 I received this book from the sweet and spicy arc programme for an honest opinion. I really enjoyed Nyves and Austin's book. This is book 2 in the treasured ink series and though you can read as a standalone I would suggest reading the 1st book before as they have an on going plot theme throughout the books. Austin is a young omega looking to get his first taste of forbidden freedom from his too protective aunt so decides to get a tattoo to commemorate his dead mums poetry. Nyve is getting broody after being round his friends Nosko and Taran(characters in the 1st book) daughter. When Austin walks in he's surprised to find that his fated mate is so much younger then he is but is hopeful. This is there romance and the on going storyline of the terrorizing muggings being put on the mystical shifters. I liked that because of the age difference between the two main characters and Austin's fledgling independence that there relationship was a slow burner and not instantaneous though obviously because of the fated mate business the attraction is but they took there time to act on it. I think Nyve has become one of my favourite characters as he was just so solid, kind and dependable a big looking brute but with a kind loving heart. Austin was a sweet but little brat that had Nyve wrapped round his little finger but the dynamics worked and I enjoyed seeing them slowly starting to form there relationship. We got a little more detail on the culprits behind the muggings but it is still left unfinished. I would of liked to have found out what Nyve looked in Dragon form and what Dragon Austin was by maybe a scene in there transformation form and I'm not really a fan of the endings as its more of a hfn but I suppose that's to be expected seems its on going but would of been nice to see Austin and his pregnancy progress and of course his aunt's reaction. I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
Austin has lived a sheltered life under his aunt’s watchful eye. When he meets Nyve their time together finally gives him the courage to take steps to make his life his own. Nyve is willing to wait for Austin but has trouble with Austin’s yo-yoing actions, they are happy together in the end but no nice conclusion for their relationship.
The book left the mystery form the first book still open ended so presumably once we get to the last guy in the shop we may find out everything. Much more was found out about the muggings and the group they are connected to and it connects back to Austin’s father. I was confused as his aunt’s reactions but hope that will come out in a later book. If I had known this was a serial type storyline I’m not sure I would have gotten started but I’ll probably continue as I want to know what will happen in the end.
The plot has merit but Austin being so indecisive about what he wants even after he meet Nyve it really pissed me off. I want more of the crazy anti-mythical shifter plot that was good.
Nyve is an older dragon shifter that has been waiting for his fated mate. When a younger man walks in his tattoo shop he realizes that his wait is over. Austin is trying to get away from his overprotective aunt and figure out what he wants to do with his life. He is a part wolf part dragon shifter. He is attracted to Nyve but doesn’t know about fated mates. The two form an unlikely bond.
Great mystery and romance. Sweet and sexy. I liked the dynamic between the friends in the tattoo shop. There is a cliffhanger to the mystery. Really enjoyable. I can’t wait for the next installment. I had not read the first book in the series. It would be best to read them in order. I was able to follow the book but the backstory would have been nice. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of the book.
i read this book as part of an arc program. I really am enjoying this series. This is the second romance in the series about a group of friends who are dragon shifters and have recently opened a tattoo parlor. In this book, it is Nyve who finds his fated mate with Austin. Nyve is an older dragon and has always wanted to find his mate. When Austin comes into the parlor wanting a tattoo of lines of poetry written by his late mother, Nyve knows right away Austin is his mate. Austin is a young man who is a little naïve and has been raised by an overprotective aunt after his mother died and his father left him with her. With the muggings continuing to target the mystical shifters and the threats getting worse, the group at the tattoo parlor try to find who is responsible. I can't wait to continue to see what happens next. Good series.
This is the second book in the series that I have read, but I am reading them out of order. I read book three first and then this one. It is recommended to read them in order. Although they are standalones, I agree with the recommendation.
Austin and Nyve are fated mates with a really big age difference between the two. The age difference makes Nyve doubt if being with Austin is the right thing. Austin is half dragon shifter and half wolf shifter. Due to the way he was brought up he doesn't know much about fated mates and bonding. Will these issues stand in their way of a HEA or will they be able to embrace the love they deserve? *I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is my honest review.*
This is the second book in Treasured Ink Series. An enjoyable book the writing was good. This book leaves you wanting more. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters interesting. The characters were developed and thought out. Nyve and Austin are the MC’s of this book and fated mates. There was humor, a questionable father, dragons, tattoo shops, drone, attempted mugging, poetry, sex, knotting and so much more in this book. It is good but it does end a bit abruptly for me.I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
OMG! Kellan and Kaz are just mean with how they are stringing out the plot with the muggings and the people behind them. This story shows us that things are much scarier than we had thought before and I can't wait to see how this all turns out in the future books.
I loved that Nyve was willing to let Austin come into himself before insisting on completing their mating. This really showed that Nyve respected Austin, and respected their bond. I also liked that Austin respected himself enough to want to know himself rather than just jumping into a mating.
Nyve is a tattoo artist when in walks Austin a young man who just happens to be his fated mate. The mystery of who is mugging the mystical shifters from Taran's story picks up and continues and it does end on another clifffhanger. Austin is just 22 and just wants his independence and the chance to be on his own for a while. Nyve is just sweet and is whiling to wait as long as it takes for Austin to be ready to settle down. This is a sweet story. I received a copy for an honest review.
4.5 stars. Austin is a bit of a spitfire who is just now reaching for independence. There is quite a bit of an age gap and it bothers Nyve in the beginning but never does he step away. I loved that Nyve is willing to wait for Austin to spread his wings; going at the pace that Austin sets. There's a lot more intrigue in this book than the first and the romance is a lot slower paced but still great. I need book 3! Adult read
The mystery behind the muggings is getting better as more pieces come to light. I would love to see more in these stories. The pregnancies and births. Also I would like to know about the different types of dragons. And lastly I would love to see them spend some time in shifted form, along with what they look like. Why aren’t the couples flying together? It’s almost like the shifter part is pushed way into the background.
This one different than the first book in the series. Austin was young and so immature at times it felt like he wanted Nyve but only in his terms. That wasn't fair at all. I still loved the intrigue with the muggings and the hate group, and then all the intrigue with the Dad and the Aunt. While not liking this book so much, I'm still going to read the next book. I just believe that Nyve's story could've been so much more with a different mate.
The pacing is still a bit weird in this one. I'm really liking the mystery that's unfolding. Austin seemed to be giving up his dreams of independence too easily for my taste. I think he should have been a bit more insistent, but that would have made the story significantly longer. I would like a little more on Nyve's background. He's sweet, but I don't have as much of a feeling about his background as I got from Taran's story.
Nyve’s book is a lot of fun. Nyve, one of Treasured Ink’s tattoo artist has just found his mate. Austin is a dragon wolf hybrid, he’s lived a sheltered life and he’s trying to grow independently. Though there is a large gape in age the guys make a go of it. The plot is fun and lite with a bit of data down intrigue thrown in.
This is a great read! True fated mates can overcome almost anything. But that is put to the test once again. I love how fate overcomes the obstacles put in her path this time. A wonderful addition to this amazing series!
No words can describe how to praise this author!!! I love it, only one thing I’d like to read about the births. It cuts all the intrigue out to not read what happens while giving birth. But I’d recommend to anyone who loves shifter mpreg these are awesome reads!!!
