"A single drop of rain falls on her nose. She looks up to the night sky, and I want to get lost in her.
She’s my end, my middle, and my beginning. But in another life. Not this life."

As reviewers, you're unlike the standard reader.
When you read, you have certain things to be cognizant about at the back of your mind. Because, you are reading not just for you but anyone else who is reading your review. The thoughts that go through your mind, the reasoning behind your rating etc.

It's safe to say, I was absolutely speechless after reading this and I had no idea what or how to express my thoughts. So just like this book - this review is going to be a hot mess.

Note: If ever you don't want to read this whole review but do end up reading this book, please see the third section at the end. This is the most important thing in this whole review and I cannot press the issue hard enough.

"As he ripped his lips from mine, he also took my breath with him. Fucking bastard."

________________

The Good
"I want to bend and snap her in ways that shouldn’t be legal or even written about. I want to fuck her so hard, all she can see and hear is me."

This is not your conventional love story.
If the title was any indication, I wouldn't even consider Saskia and Ryken's love to be love.
If I had to put a name to it - it would be more like deep rooted infatuation to the point of toxicity.

I enjoyed a lot of this story, more than I initially thought I would - because a friend of mine mentioned that there was a lot of cheating in the book. Which, by the way - I'm having mixed feelings about. Since it was pivotal in the plotline and the whole "I fell for him, he fell for her" trope, I gave it a chance and I'm happy I did!

"Every action has a reaction. As she looks up at me with those mocha-colored eyes, I know right here, and now, even if I tried to convince myself I hate her, I would never be able to achieve it."

During the first three quarters, I was going to rate this 4 stars and be done with it. Gush about all the good things, and leave little space for the 'bad'. But that would be dishonest, and although a lot of people loved this book - I guess I ended up just liking it.

"Maybe I don’t need that heated spark all the time. People go years, or sometimes lifetimes, without ever feeling that special link everyone talks about. Some people settle, and that’s even an okay thing to do. I just have to work out if it’s tolerable for me."

Something I really enjoyed was the realistic construction of how people don't always end up together because even though you 'love' them - they are not good for you at the time. I really did not like Ryken, and I will talk more about that below but I hope the author doesn't go the mainstream way to a 'happily ever after' when the characters deserve better than a unhealthy love.

"Look at our start, if it’s this rocky already... Imagine how our ending would be."

The Bad
The writing took a lot of getting used to, but once I got used to it - it felt like the next issue was the flow. This was a biggie for me, the flow and the movement of the passages was too jumpy.
The timing that was spaced was unclear and the dual POV's got confusing because sometimes we would jump back or forward in time and it wasn't mentioned anywhere.

There is cheating in this book. Be warned, if you plan on going into this wanting a 'safe' read. The whole concept of cheating and atypical endings is something of a complex quandary in the New Adult / Romance readership audience. I have some friends that stay clear of all books that aren't a HEA or that have cheating in it. I have a lot of friends that like when it is explicitly stated before the book begins so that the reader knows what they are going into. I also have some friends who just don't care.

"It’s a funny thing falling in love with someone unexpected. Especially, when you have eyes for someone else. Even more so when you know you want that other person more than the one you’re with, but there’s nothing you can"

What started off as unfamiliar territory to me slowly made me come to realize what the author was trying to convey. The cheating was a background story arc that added to the all-in-all high levels of angst in the novel. Even though it was necessary, I really wish there was a mention of how wrong it all was by the two main characters. After a lot of "But what about him/her?" mentions, there was nothing that shouted "this is wrong on all levels, and everyone should know that."

"Even then I’m afraid somehow I’ll find my way back to her. She’s that never-ending love. That uncontrollable fascination. It hasn’t died and it probably never will. I’m afraid I’ll love her even when I shouldn’t. I’m afraid I’ll want her even when I can’t have her."

I really did not like Ryken. At the start, it was due to his two dimensionality. There was nothing that I could flesh out of him, I still don't have a clear understanding of his motives and him as a character personally. Towards the end, I didn't like him because he became a pushover and knelt down to his fathers criminal industry and became the legacy that his father wanted him to be. I really hope he redeems himself in the following novel and stops the organization that he now runs.

"He kisses me like he can’t get enough of me, and I kiss him like I can’t find my breath, and the only way to find it again is to kiss it from him."

I also kind of wanted her to end up with Stiles. I really just wanted her to be happy without Ryken because in my personal opinion - I thought she deserved way better. There was a lot of mind fuckery and brain games that the two played with each other that just got repetitive after a while.

"She’s fire and ice. I could burn her in gasoline, then step into the fire and burn right along with her."

That being said, I actually really look forward to reading the following additions to this series and I have high hopes for both Ryken and Saskie. This does end in a major cliff hanger, so I'm on my toes waiting for the next ARC to come my wayyy <3

The Ugly
When writing a book that deals with topics such as sex trafficking - I really wish authors would go into it the same way that other topics such as suicide or self harm are dealt with.

At the end of every book that deals with suicide, the author posts a note on how if you know someone or if you are someone that struggles with suicidal thoughts or tendencies, here are the following numbers or links that you can contact people to find help. I love that, because it means that whoever reads your book till the end will fucking see the message and it raises that little bit of awareness that could end up saving a life.

All the way back in Grade 11, I did a personally conducted project for my community and service credits on the topic of Sex Trafficking. I still get nightmares today from some of the stories I read, and some of the testimonies that people came out with. I really wish the author put a note at the end that specified where and how a survivor can get help, or if you knew any knowledge on the topic in your neighborhood or in your city even, who you can contact or give an anonymous tip too. Moreover, if readers wanted to learn how they can help by advocating or sharing - there can be social media links to that too.

Here are a couple ways that I found on methods that you could help:

i)If you are located in the US and get an inkling that someone may be a victim of sex slavery or human trafficking - there is a around the clock hotline that you can call : 1-888-373-7888. Any tip would help the fucking world, and you would help those who cannot help themselves.

ii) Listed here are some indicators that can help you decipher if a person is a victim of sex trafficking and/or human trafficking.

iii)If you are an employer, educator, business person, or even just a person that can share this to a major audience. Get people to take the human trafficking awareness training program here.

There are so many more ways that you can raise awareness, volunteer and even vouch for and about survivors and make a little change with the sex trafficking industry. It is the second largest criminal industry in the world, folks. Be that voice.

KITTY KATS CRAZY ABOUT BOOKS

DISTORTED LOVE: Is a full length Contemporary Romance/Dark read and is the first book in the (Dark Intentions Duet) by T.L. Smith.

The synopsis for this gives you clues that this book is going to get it’s claws into you. I loved him from the age of sixteen.
Hated him from the age of eighteen.
He disappeared at the age of nineteen.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

And it certainly did!! But don’t expect a happily ever after from these two characters because this is their story and their story doesn’t have one.

Saskia like many students is counting down the months when school lets out for the final time it’s her second to last year she has to attend, Ryken has called her a barbie bombshell, he’s heard all the usual stories about her, she lives in a trailer on the wrong side of town, doesn’t come from money and she’s only attending this school due to a scholarship.

Ryken is in his senior year of school he’s counting down the days until he turns eighteen and his fathers night club empire is handed over to him, but that’s not all his father has dipped his hands in. Though he does keep Ryken away from this side of his shady dealings, you see his father also runs a sex slave trade.

Saskia is attending her first party held by Ryken’s best friend, at this party she’s caught the eye of Quinn.

This was the catalyst that set everything in motion. From this point onwards the book takes you on a crazy journey.

Argghhh this was like Romeo and Juliet on crack, I literally have whiplash!! This book completely drained me, the too and fro, backwards and forwards, the love to hate you hate to love you these two had going on did my head in, but like a train on a collision course for the life of me I couldn't stop reading it!!
And the aftermath is me sitting here with a reeling mind wandering wtf did I just read!!
It was like I was stuck in a maze, confused as all hell not sure if I wanted rescuing or needed to keep reading, and keep reading I did, a book that I'm questioning myself over because I didn't like or connect with any characters but I ended up devouring this like I was on speed I needed to know what was going to be the outcome for these characters. So like the name of this book 'Distorted' my review is kind of 'Distorted' too.
For me it wasn't what I would peg as dark but the angst in this was more than I could've hoped for, and the author delivered it in buckets. it had me sitting on the edge of my seat with anticipation throughout, and now I'm wanting, needing, stalking the release of the next book because how this ended has definitely got me wondering what's going to happen in the next book.

FOR GOODREADS
ARC

I have Never loved a book yet hated a book as much as I did for Distorted Love!
I am so confused yet so in love with these two characters. The back and forth, the chemistry, the angst, the sheer lust in this book gives you Goosebumps all over your body even after you are done with the book.

I honestly can't wrap my head around this book. As a reader your first would be "oh that's not love! that's pure lust" but as you continue to read it, you realise the love these two share is so unconventional but it is love!
I can honestly say that I am willing to punch anyone who says that what Saskia and Ryken have is not love. It may not be all rainbows and butterflies but one can't doubt that their 'odd' relationship is dark and gritty; it's love, and it is bloody enjoyable to read!
Distorted Love is a Dark Romance...it's against everything we know and think about what a romance book should be like.
Give it try! I think you might enjoy it.

ARC-BOOK REVIEW
Release Date-20/03/18

This book has bleeding destroyed me.
Like Totally Wrecked me in a major big way.
This has got to be one of the most angsty stories I've ever experienced.
I'm so confused I'm not actually sure if I hate this book as much as I love it.

 photo giphy_zpsnyjsn5io.gif

It has all my most hated Tropes.
In particular, love triangles, hate them sooo much !!!
but still, something compelled me to give this a go.
And in all honesty, I can only give it it's full five stars as Distorted love has gripped me with its sharp talons piercing my skin and digging in for maximum damage leaving me ravaged with blood and tears.
After finishing I'm sat here with the biggest lump ever in my throat.
I'm just like so sad it's unreal, I'm an actual mess here.

 photo 757237_zpsfeaonxdk.gif

There's a fine line between love and hate and I'm straddling it.
But when something affects you so powerfully for whatever reason that may be, it's definitely done its job ten-fold.
So sorry for my vaguish ramblings, but I think the blurb for this says it all, and really this just needs to be read with no preconceptions.
I really hope this affects you as profoundly as me.
Saskia and Ryken I am waiting in anticipation to discover where this journey is taking you and I eagerly await book two.
I was provided with an ARC of "Distorted Love (Dark Intentions Duet #1)" By the author of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

Hated him!

I hated Ryken, there was nothing likeable about his character nor was his character developed enough for me to understand him at all (maybe author’s intent) Livia and Saskia were both just as unlikeable with no limits or lack of morals and ethics when it comes to doing the right thing. As for this epic love that the other reviewers talked about between Ryken and Saskia? Well I’m sorry but between all the hot sex he kept having with Livia and then willing to give up “the love of his life” for her I certainly didn’t see or feel the love between them! I normally really like this author but I am so disappointed with this book but I can’t say I wasn’t warned as the blurb more or less said what it would be about, I guess I just expected more from the main characters.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Fiction loves to add glamour to monsters but when a monster embodies true reality with an estimated 27 million adults & 13 million children who are victims of human trafficking currently, than it does not matter how much sugar you pour on a pig,it's still going turn to bitter slime. Ryken the lead character is morally bankrupt and irredeemably abhorrent.I cannot find words to describe the women in his life.

I need help, how do I recover after that?

Omg, TL Smith always leaves me speechless, but not numb, I feel numb.

I was pulled in all directions, I felt for Saskia then Ryken, then I hated him, liked him again, oh what a jumbled up dark mess this story is.

Two people who couldn't be together but loved each other. A story that starts off like any other high school romance, innocent quiet girl falls for tall, brooding bad boy but don't be fooled.

Ryken was to take over his father's business once he turned eighteen then later to take over his fathers sex trafficking business.
Ryken was warned Saskia wasn't the right girl for him when his father saw he had feelings for her his father even threatened to have her taken and sold, he believed that she wouldn't let the things he did slide, his fathers orders were that he had to have a girl who would overlook his business dealings, be happy with designer things and be by his side, a trophy wife who turned a blind eye...
Saskia would never be that woman, the girl from a trailer park was not a material girl but her richer cousin was.
Livia is destined to be a lawyer she's the better fit by the order of Rykens father and once Livia finishes college who would question or suspect the husband of a lawyer in illegal dealings.

Rykens path was always planned even when he fell for the blonde girl, his Barbie but was forced to be with the brunette.

I hated it at times, OMG my heart, love triangles are so cruel. All I wanted was for Ryken to fight for Saskia and he couldn't even do it, not even when he became the underground boss.

This book will make your head spin.
If your the kind of reader that gets all squeamish at cheaters, honestly this isn't for you then, me, however, I love and hate the drama of it all, it's fiction and can't wait for more.

I need book two now!, my sanity needs It! i'l be over hear rocking in the corner waiting.

***ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review***

Ridiculous manic girl meets stupid criminal boy.

Holy effing mind eff of the freaking year!!! T.L. Smith is a newer author to me but I have found that her twisted new adult dark romances are unique and right up my alley. There is no way to know what is going on in her stories, even when you are positive you have it figure out Smith throws in another twist and messes with your head even more. Distorted Love is no exception to the dark and twisty. I found myself turning pages left and right trying to figure it out. I finished this in a few hours and I now have more questions than answers and I am impatiently waiting for the final book in this duet to land on my kindle!

She's my end, my middle, and my beginning. But in another life. Not this life.

Ryken and Saskia are two people drawn to each other. They complement each other in ways that most people search for until their dying breaths. But they are also completely wrong for each other. From different worlds, Saskia wears hand-me downs and lives in a rundown trailer. Ryken lives in the biggest mansion in town and is set to follow in his father's very powerful footsteps. If they can stay away from each other they'll be fine. But staying away is hard when that person is the only thing you truly want.

"It's impossible to stay away from something you want more than your next breath."

I LOVED this book!!!! I have strong feelings toward every character, even the ones that appear for only a scene or two. I loathe Livia in a way I have never loathed a character before. I really wanted to find something to like about that girl but I just couldn't and I am positive that my feelings will only grow stronger in the conclusion. Robert, Cane, Stiles, heck even Quinn I found myself liking, some more than others but hey they can't all be my favorite. That spot is reserved for Quinn in case you were curious. I do love me a bad boy and while Ryken certainly checks every box, I found myself giddy (yes giddy!) whenever Quinn made an appearance.

"It's me you can't have. Haven't you worked that out yet, Ryken? Two wrongs can't make a right. You and I, we're two wrongs."

^^^^^ That quote sums up Ryken and Saskia perfectly! I am dying, literally dying to read the conclusion ASAP. Who do I need to talk to to make this happen???? I'm not above bribing!!! I needs more Ryken, Saskia and of course Quinn ;) Thank you T.L. Smith for an amazingly messed up wonderful read!

Five Distorted Stars!!

After reading numerous books by this author she’s finally done it she’s broken me, I’m a mess.

When i finished the book I felt like I’d run a marathon not because the book is long but because of the way I felt whilst reading.

This author is a genius the way she uses words to drag the reader along on a dark twisted journey. Every word is used to manipulate the readers mind to keep you guessing, to look for clues, to fall in love with the characters she creates.

The characters were easy to fall in love with except one who shall to me remain nameless. Ryken is a master manipulator he’s selfish and cruel but I don’t care I love him. Saskia is my girl she’s the one I’m routing for in the story she has such an inner strength and trust me she needs it.

A dark twisted story that I just couldn’t put down with an ending that made me cry it’s a total WTF moment that just makes me anxious for part two.

Well played T.L. Smith well played.

"Bless me, Father, for I have sinned. ... Today I fell further down the rabbit hole I wasn't invited into. Today I fell in love."

We'll that could be my next confession. Distorted Love is a rabbit hole you fall into so willingly you don't even realize it. I fell in love with every T.L. Smith book I get into my hand starting some time ago, so it's no surprise I fell deeply in love with Distorted Love as well.

"How the prince steals the heart of the princess with just one kiss. He could steal my heart with his lips alone."

Distorted Love is slightly different from T.L. Smith's latest books. In my eyes anyway. It still is dark, toxic, enthralling, sexy but yet somehow different. Again she created a world you get sucked right into as soon as you turn the first pages and you are not able to leave until you turned the last page.

"It's impossible to stay away from something you want more than your next breath."

Saskia and Ryken are special in every possible way. So different from each other, yet so similar. No wonder they are attracted. You feel the game of pushing and pulling deep in your reader's soul. Saskia and Ryken seem to be two wrongs which clearly can't make one right. Yet they seem to be two magnets who'll always find their way back to each other. They dance a dangerous game and one of them will get hurt in the end.

"And Ryken Lord just made me his living breathing Barbie without even knowing it."

My big mystery is Quinn. I don't know why but there is just this dark aura around him, that keeps pulling on my heart strings every time he made an appearance. I want to know about him so I truly hope, and I'm begging here, that he'll get his own book!

"I'm afraid I'll love her even when I shouldn't. I'm afraid I'll want her even when I can't have her."

Distorted Love will ravish you. It will take bits of you, piece by piece. It'll stuck under your skin and you can't escape.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

This is a dark, emotional read that follows mostly Saskia and Ryken. This is one of those books where the characters are in HS, but act like adults and dealing with major shit.
*Warning-This review will have spoilers. I read a lot and these reviews also help me remember details from the books. I will tag the spoilers, but if you are using the Goodreads app; the spoiler tags wont work...unless they fixed it after I wrote this review:)*

Saskia is poor living in a trailer park. Ryken Lord is set to inherit his fathers night club and sex trade business. Saskia (Barbie) and Ryken have an instant attraction, but R's dad discourages the relationship because R needs a spouse that is a gold digger and only cares about material things...(willing to turn a blind eye on his criminal dealings) Saskia isn't that girl but Livia her rich cousin is. So begins the cheating, and hurting of Saskia cycle.

Saskia is a doormat. I get she loves R, but allows him to hurt her again and again. It's like she's happy to have whatever scraps he'll give her.
Ryken is an ass, he's a selfish prick...and I'm frustrated that I still give a shit about him.

The book basically follows their back and forth toxic trainwreck of a relationship. Stop reading here if you don't want the ending ruined....

This was a quick read and while reading it, you can't help but ask yourself....WHAT THE HELL? There is so much going on that just doesn't seem plausible. Our female character just seems to not get a back bone and it makes you mad as a reader. Plus a couple things happen and you wonder how does she just let it go and not do something.

I'm sure I say this every time I finish reading one of T.L. Smith's books......I think this one may be my favorite to date. It really kept me on the edge of my street the whole time. It was a very emotional story that I really didn't want to ever end. Once I got started I found it impossible to put down.

There are several superlatives that I could use to describe my feelings after reading this book, but none would do them justice.

This is an amazing book about two fated lovers, Saskia and Ryken. Wrong for each other on so many levels, they are continually drawn to each other despite the consequences.

Ryken is a conflicted, brooding hero, whereas Saskia is something of an enigma: she’s introverted but determined, delicate yet strong, submissive and feisty.

There are parallels here to be drawn with other fated lovers, such as Romeo & Juliet, Troilus & Cressida, among others. The authors borrows the very best elements of those stories and turns them into a book I couldn’t put down.

This book is part of a duet, so it ends on a pivotal moment in the story. I almost screamed in frustration; the second book can’t come quickly enough. I will wait anxiously until then.

so i finished this a few days ago. but of course myself got sick and seriously sleep 3/4 days away. so my review is finally going up. i liked this book but i didnt love it as much as i loved buried in lies. which made me pretty obsessed with TL Smith and I went out and bought all her books in a single day. wasn't a big fan of any of the secondary characters i wanted to rip my eye out because of them. but the main characters made me not too. i loved it, it made me wanting more. so i cant wait to read more in the next book.

This is my first TL book, and it really is something
A story of 3 pods in a pea.
3 characters joined by love, lust and luck
Ryken is stuck with a sinful father, head of a crime empire, with his fat fingers in a lot of pies. One of them- sex slavery
Thank God his mom instilled some good morals in him. He likes Saskia,a hard working girl in her ultimate year of HS. She's here by good graces of her cousin Livia. She's on the wrong side of the town,in a trailer with her mom.
The story takes a .......unusual(bizarre) turn, I felt
I loved the writing but I had a hard time picturing the scenario. A 15/16 year old, doing what she does, is a bit OTT for me, but that's just MY OPINION
Please go and read the book
You're guaranteed a mouth hung open response!

5 ★ – Satisfyingly Sexy, Deliciously Dark, and Amazingly Addictive

I honestly don’t know if I can write a coherent review for this book, so my deepest apologies if I don’t make sense. My heart is still in an incredibly messed up place right now and I’m not so sure it’s ever going to be the same. Not after going through one of the most unsettling, but freaking awesome reading experience I’ve had in such a long time. This book was dark, twisted, and disturbing, but I devoured it in less than 24 hours. It was so damn good.. so good it hurts, but I still can’t get enough. I want more… I need more!

Ughhh this book… I seriously LOVE/HATE this book so much. Distorted Love completely destroyed me in the BEST and MOST SATISFYING WAY. The story had so much darkness and heartbreak, but it was so intensely real and undeniably captivating. Not to mention, sexy, suspenseful, and thrilling. As much as I love to read lighthearted, adorable, and sweet love stories, there’s something really alluring about dark romances. That being said, I’m still very picky and most of them don’t really “click” with me. I really don’t know which stories I’ll like and enjoy, so I held back from requesting the sequel for this book.

Well, I MOST DEFINITELY shouldn’t have…

All it took is one hit and I knew without a doubt that I’ll be craving to read all of T.L. Smith’s other books. I mean there were things that bothered me and I’m still not sure how I really feel about the story and the characters. BUT… I was hooked from the very first page and this book had me reeling and on edge the entire time. I never knew what was coming — it was so frustratingly fun, thrilling and intriguing. My emotions were all over the place — infatuation, happiness, hate, love, anger, hope, sadness, pain. It was such a mess — a beautiful mess. This book definitely affected me so much more than I expected that even when my heart was breaking into pieces, I DID NOT WANT TO STOP READING! I don’t know how much more I can take, but I NEED the next book NOW! That ending totally ruined me and I can’t stop thinking about what’ll happen to Ryken and Saskia. There’s no other way to put it — I’m consumed by their twisted love story and so hopelessly addicted. If there’s anyone who knows just what I’m going through… that would be Camila Cabello. Her song, “Never Be the Same” describes EXACTLY how I feel towards this book.

Love is complex, messy, and sometimes even tragic. Distorted Love left my heart broken and barely beating, but I can’t seem to let it go. T.L. Smith is such a brilliant writer who knows just how to tease, seduce, and reel you in. Once you have a taste, you’ll keep coming back for more. As soon as I finished reading, I immediately requested for Sinister Love and hoped I would get approved. And I DID!!!! I cannot recommend this book enough. You really just have to experience Smith’s gorgeous and awesome writing to know what I’m talking about.

Current Status: Impatiently stalking my email waiting for my Sinister Love ARC to arrive. I’m so obsessed because this book… well you read my review, but I’ll just leave part of Never Be the Same lyrics here…

Something must’ve gone wrong in my brain

Got your chemicals all in my veins

Feeling all the highs, feeling all the pain

Let go on the wheel, it’s the bullet lane

Now I’m seeing red, not thinking straight

Blurring all the lines, you intoxicate me

Just like nicotine, heroin, morphine

Suddenly, I’m a fiend and you’re all I need

All I need, yeah, you’re all I need.

Distorted Love
By: T.L. Smith
4 Stars

Well my goodness, what a story!

Saskia and Livia are cousins attending a private high school. Livia coming from money and Saskia living off the support from her uncle and sometimes present mother. Livia, the one who is making her rounds with the boys in school and Saskia, concentrating on keeping her grades up so that she doesn’t lose her scholarship.

Ryken they boy with mysterious eyes. The one you look at and deep inside your gut is telling you to stay away from. Nothing good can come from being in a relationship with him.

Two cousins…One boy…
One cousin is perfect on paperwork.
One cousin is perfect for love.

While I was hooked from the beginning of this book, reading it nonstop, I didn’t feel any connection to any of the characters. The constant back and forth love, hate, leave, stay, push, pull, drove me crazy. In my opinion took away from the story.

Bring on book two because I’ve got to know how this triangle will end!!!

From what I gathered from the reviews, the main characters sleep with other people throughout the story (the hero is in a relationship with the heroine's cousin eww!).

Better, the hero is involved in human trafficking and profits out of it and there's someone committing suicide at the end?

Plus they're all high school kids so I think I'm gonna skip this one.
It sounds like a mess to me and I don't think I would like either of the MCs.

Pity since the synopsis sounded so good and I actually wanted to read it.

Oh well.

I’ve read a lot of TL Smiths work so I thought I knew what to expect with this book but I really didn’t. I should know better by now.

I don’t know what it was about the two main characters but I loved them from the start. I went through a rollercoaster of emotions reading this book. I adored Saskia but I’m extremely torn about my feelings towards Ryken. On one hand he’s everything I love my book men to be but on the other he’s everything I despise.

This book messed me up. I’m drained after reading it (in the best way possible). The story and characters took on a life of their own and dragged me along for the ride. And what a ride! Plenty of hotness, a forbidden attraction and a chain of reactions no one can stop, this book has it all. It kept me on the edge of my seat, made me hope and despair, made me fall in love with certain characters and made me hate some of them with a vengeance. I need book two. NEED it!!! How am I supposed to carry on without knowing what happens next? The next few weeks are going to feel like a life time. Absolutely amazing book.

"Forgive me father for I have sinned"
Lord have mercy!!!!!! Distorted Love is such an emotional rollercoaster, I'm at a loss for words on how this book makes me feel.
T.L Smith knows exactly how to twist a tale that will leave your heart shattered and you mind reeling for MORE!!!
Saskia and Ryken have a chemistry that is off the charts hot and it isn't in either of their best interests to get involved.
Distorted Love will leave your brain in MUSH!!!! There is tons of angst and you never what is coming next, even if you MAY think you know how it's going to unfold, you are thrown for another loop.
I was entranced through the entire story and can't wait to get my hands on the next installment..

I am going to try and keep this review spoiler free, so it might not be the best review ever written. How do you sing all the praises without saying too much?

TL Smith is a master story teller, Distorted Love grabs you from page one, and does not let go. It is a two part series, so there is that. More Ryken and Saskia to come.

All I can say about Distorted Love is, that if you are a TL Smith fan and read everything before this then you won't be disappointed and if not, then you can start with Distorted Love. It is TL Smith Brilliance, think we need to create a word to describe the story telling genius that is TL Smith. Something in the line of Tl-siliance. But I will leave the creating of words and phrases to TL Smith. Nobody does it better than her.

5 SHATTERED HEART STARS!! My heart is shattered! I am trying to put it back together again, but still struggling to find the pieces. OMG, what has this author done to us readers with this phenomenal book. I have never read a story like this before she has written a masterpiece. This dark twisted love story will take you on one emotional rollercoaster ride you never want to end. T.L. Smith is the master of dark love stories, her words are like gold and turns it to a 5 star read. I am sorry, my review can not do this story justice, so JUST READ IT!! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

TL Smith had once again blown me away with her writing. When it comes to dark twisted romance, I can always count on her to deliver. This book has such well written characters and a plot line that kept me guessing. I clearly love her main characters Saskia and Ryken, but I also found myself loving her side characters as well (can I please have a bestie like Robert?!) Can we also talk about her plot twist and "villains"? I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for part two!!
