Time is not on Daniel's side and when Reed's pack catches up with them, there is only one option on the table. He can only hope that the omega forgives him for taking it. When duty turns unexpectedly into desire, he sets about wooing the pretty boy. Mistrustful and defiant, Reed resists until Daniel's plan of seduction proves too tempting. But there is a secret between them and revealing it could doom their growing affection.

Samantha Cayto is a Boston-area native who practices as a business lawyer by day while writing erotic romance at night—the steamier the better. She likes to push the envelope when it comes to writing about passion and is delighted other women agree that guy-on-guy sex is the hottest ever.

She lives a typical suburban life with her husband, three kids and four dogs. Her children don’t understand why they can’t read what she writes, but her husband is always willing to lend her a hand—and anything else—when she needs to choreograph a scene.

She is a member of the Romance Writers of America and the New England Chapter and credits RWA, NEC and the wonderful friends she’s made there with helping her become a published author.

What in the actual hell is wrong with Daniel and desperate omegas in distress? 🙄 I mean, this is just ridiculous. 🤬 In the fifth book, Omega in the Middle, Daniel rescued an omega called Ben and since he’s a city living beta, he decided to send the omega to the rogue pack. And then someone else liked Ben and he wasn’t able to let go of the new toy he picked up. 😒 And he stuck his dick to Ben the first chance he got using omega’s heat as an excuse. 🙄 And now, this is about hero-wanna-be dickhead Daniel and Ben’s brother, Reed story. What in the actual F did I just read? 🙄 Daniel is just an arsehole. 😒 He’s like “oh, I like the city and I can’t settle down with a family and I don’t believe in love” and he just kept f**king Reed. And the deflowering of Reed was just a horrible mess. 😑 It just kept getting worse and worse. Even in the end, although they did end up being together with a HEA, Daniel was just irredeemable for me. 😑 Do yourself a favor and just read from book 1 to 4. And skip, 5th and 6th, they are just a giant mess at least  IMO. 😒 I thought the fifth was my least favorite but boy, I was wrong. 😖 It’s official now, this one is my least favorite. 😒 That being said, I’m still going to read the upcoming books in the series since I like Samantha Cayto and the first four books were really fantastic.

This is my new favorite in this series. What can I say, although this story started out with a huge amount of intensity, with quite a bit of danger and suspense that made parts of it hard to read. Yes I was extremely anxious at times during the first half even though I knew it had an HEA (What can I say... I really immerse myself when I read a book). The two MCs in this book were beyond incredible. Reed is amazing as an omega who doesn't think or act like one when he is given a chance. Daniel, whom we know a lot about from the previous book has definitely matured, though he is still a work in progress. The two put together are like a match to gasoline it is so hot, I think the two of them together are the hottest couple of any in the series. The way the two MCs developed and grew through this book was breathtaking. Since most of the action takes place far from the Rogue pack we only get a tiny bit of pack stuff. This story is with out a doubt the most suspenseful and intense of all the books thus far. I am happy to see that based on the epilogue and what it says about Loki that we will get at least one more book in the series, though I am greedy and want MORE!

If I thought Omega in the Middle was weird and weak, I was wrong. This one was even weaker... :(

I don't think I like Daniel ... :(
Even Reed's temper and feistiness didn't save the book, I'm afraid... :(

Still, I'm going to read next books in The Rogue Pack universe and I can't wait for Loki's book. I hope it's next and I hope it'll be much more to my liking.
The 4 first books were amazing! I want that again! ;)

I liked this book as it’s not an alpha-omega story, the lead males are beta-omega. It got angsty coz Reed learned that Daniel had sexual relations with Reed’s bro Ben some time back but the circumstances were totally understandable. Daniel was a good hero and I’m glad Reed kept his individuality by living in the human world with Daniel, just like he has always wanted.

Finally!

Finally a Samantha Cayto book resonates with me! I’ve had two previous encounters which were lacklustre to say the least. So I was a little hesitant to get the latest Cayto novel (it’s not this one, I know) so I was trying one more time before deciding since I can get this on KU. And it’s a winner!!

Phew! I can’t remember why the previous two books didn’t resonate with me. I don’t think it was the writing style. I think maybe it was just the storyline. Anyway, guess I can now confidently go purchase the latest Cayto installment. Yay!!

Well, let’s get back to this story. I wouldn’t say this shifter-verse is different from the many others. It actually is quite familiar with similar settings as other more common shifter universes. But I liked watching Reed and Daniel together.

The problem/life Reed was trying to escape from was a legit hellhole. The solution Daniel proposed to extricate them from the problem was logical. One of my pet peeves is when the authors come up with crazy solutions that don’t make sense. In this case, thankfully it was not the case.

What I really enjoyed about this was the journey Reed and Daniel took together to get from Reed’s old pack to his brother’s new pack to Daniel’s. Also from strangers to rescuer/rescuee to lovers. And I loved the detail of Reed’s very obvious and drastic behaviour change in the presence of his father.

In short, this was truly an enjoyable read. Will definitely read more of Samantha Cayto’s work now!

I'm reading this series all out of order, so as I'm writing this review, there are 8 books in the series and now that I've read this one, I've read them all and I AM NOT OKAY.

This series is weirdly addictive, so I really hope there will be more books added to it in the near future BECAUSE I NEED IT!

This series has a million characters and it's almost hard to keep up and remember who's who, but i don't care because I'm so attached to this pack that the author could add 46 more characters and I'd still be happy.

Okay, enough fangirling.

Omega on the Loose was about Reed and Daniel. I'll be honest, I kept this book for last because I wasn't super excited for it, mostly because I knew Daniel was a city guy and not a pack guy so I wasn't sure I was going to enjoy not being in a pack the whole book.

Joke's on me...cuz this story took place in packs for the most part, haha.

So, I LOVED THIS BOOK. I ended up loving both Daniel and Reed as characters, I loved the element of looming danger in the parts where the MCs were stuck in Reed's old pack constantly scrutinized by the alpha.

I did expect a biiiit more drama to come from that situation, but I'm also glad that instead, the story kept moving forward.

Daniel being forced to be a cruel Beta to Reed and treat him badly in front of others GAVE ME LIFE. That's a favorite trope of mine: pretending to be cruel towards your love interest to survive a dangerous situation (like the night court scene in A Court of Mist and Fury, yum) GAH! The annnnnngsttttttt.

Anyway, clearly, I really enjoyed this book and I feel like I'm doing a very poor job right now of communicating why...sooorry, all reviews are not created equally apparently, hahaha!

This is marginally better than the previous installment, where Daniel, a Beta, came off as an old creepy leech.

I don't get Daniel in this book either; he acts like a total doormat instead of a beta. Reed is too unconventional and pushy for an omega, especially a severely abused one. I do get his fight for personal rights and freedom, but he can really use a good spanking here and there.

That said, I can't wait for moar! There are arctic shifters, there are former enemy shifters, there are more sigmas and omegas to claim... and only Samantha knows what else is roaming the local woods =)

Oh, and the length of each installment is perfect for my current schedule on the run :)

Can't wait for book 7!

Totally hooked on this series! 'Omega on the Loose' is a glorious comeback to soothe the slight disappointment of how the previous book ended. Again, we follow Daniel, a self-sufficient shifter with a kind heart. The story is a paranormal alternative universe take on the Knight in Shining Armour coming to rescue the Princess locked up in the Evil Castle. But they're all boys of course, and the beauty in need of rescue will have none it. He's busy rescuing himself, thank you very much! As an escapism story with a happy ending this shifter story is working fabulously well. Five well deserved wolfish stars!

Reed and Daniel

Another wonderful book from Samantha Cayto! Daniel is such a great guy. He helped Ben in the last book and volunteers to find Reed, Ben's omega brother. He finds him pretty quickly but so does Reed's pack that he'd just run away from. Daniel thinks quickly of a way to get Reed out of danger and into his arms. Not too much angst, steamy scenes, and a HEA!

Loved it. Absolutely loved it. I had to read it in small chunks and it took me more than two weeks to finish it because I’d been traveling. A lot of people didn’t like Daniel but I’m an absolute sucker for abused omegas saved and loved by their big bad dominant mates. I had to skip the previous book, Ben’s book where readers got to meet Daniel for the first time because I’m not into MMM. But it’s all good, I didn’t feel like I missed much and frankly I didn’t care to know about what happened in the last book because otherwise I’d have read it. This was great. I highly recommend it. As always, Samantha Cayto delivered❤️

After the last book, this is a really new side of Daniel. I wonder why they can't just get internet for Daniel and like... an apartment in a nearby town or something? Also, I kept feeling like Daniel was going to have a convo with Reed that went something like "look, in the human world, partners make choices together and work as equals, I want us to be like that" and it never happened.

Feels weird that Carr and Daniel have this bond, now that they're both mated to brothers... like what was the point of that? Wish it was a bit more flushed out by the author I guess.

Too much sexy time

There were way too many sex scenes the sex wasnt that good and they really distracted from the plot which was admittedly pretty weak. The resolution is pretty obvious from the begining so until the end everything just feels like a distraction

I liked the beginning and I liked the ending. The middle was a bit dull for me. 🥱 The story is okay, but I didn't care that much for either of the MCs.

The recycled plot has gotten old.
(Everyone has a tragic backstory.)
The gamma/beta: "I don't want to be mated"
The omega: "I need to be mated and pregnant."

👎 There was a build up to Reed finding out about Daniel being involved with Ben & Carr, which fizzled out. It's resolved in a few pages, which was a letdown.

I'm going to take a break from the series, b/c I need action, suspense, mystery and/or angst. Something that has me eagerly turning the pages. Explicit sex scenes with a side plot is no longer enough.
