Of all the horrible things I've been through, waking up to a world where the past months didn't happen is something I don't think I can bear. The guys, my friends, my family, have no recollection of who I am. But I am determined to do everything in my power to get my life back no matter how many enemies come at me, and this time I'm going to do what I didn't do before: complete all my connections.
***This is a reverse harem novel. ***Be aware there may be possible triggers
Sadly I didn't enjoy this as much as book one. Blake's character is so well defined in the first book, and that is really just thrown away here. Some of her choices are just utterly illogical. Blake still could have accomplished the goals she sets out without remaining so isolated and vulnerable. The slow burn of the relationship development between Blake and all of the guys is totally thrown out the window in book 2, which was also disappointing, as was her repeated assertions she was just friends for now with some of the guys. That's just in congruent, if you want to have her jumping their bones then write that story, if you want them to develop the relationships so this doesn't turn into just another sex focused book do that, but don't straddle the fence. I'm not saying that they need to be chaste, but take that time for those relationships. Also I'm super uncomfortable with a formally battered girl being written into a situation where violent sex is alluded to; that makes it really hard to like those guys. If she wasn't a battered child, that would be different, but I don't like seeing trauma's played out in the bedroom. It just makes it hard to find the guys endearing after that, and I like these guys, broken as a they are, so I don't want to dislike them.
DNF. It was too much detail and too many names for me to keep track of. I needed a diagram.
In this book, everyone but Blake has amnesia. No one, not even her six connections, remembers her in their lives. This "amnesia" continues until about 37% or so in the book, but everything is still revisited and questioned. It became redundant. We did not progress anywhere in the story. The heroine and heroes still have to reconnect with her. Some of the heroes still want to keep their girlfriends. UGH. This book was just frustrating. In book 1, I could handle reading about the heroes and their girlfriends because I thought that this was a different look at RH plots. That in this RH series, we would see the RH grow from the beginning. I was willing to give it a chance IF the heroes' number one priority was the heroine. However, that was not always the case. Perfect example, Drake and Rose.
I don't like reading about heroes with OW after they have made a connection with the heroine. However, in this book, the reader ONCE AGAIN has to read about all the heroes and their girlfriends. I love OW drama, but this was not just OW drama. Many times, the heroes were supporting or siding with the OW. It felt like a repeat from book 1.
I quit. As I mentioned there were too many names to remember. With all the connections and the connections' girlfriends and friends, it became too much. This book needs a good editor. Also, the story is too wordy. Every detail is described in full. I don't need to read what everyone is eating, reading, and doing.

Despite some hang ups that happened in book 1 with some OW drama, I actually really liked this book and this series!
At the end of book 1, we see that what Blake’s younger sister Ella, who has the gift of precognition, predicted came through. Memories weren’t erased so much as time was taken back a few weeks, so all the development she’d had with her guys went out the window. It actually ended up working out though, because she was able to start off their relationships with more certainty, so a lot of the OW drama went away. (I still wish that at least one of them, specifically Jaxson, had waited for her. I really hate that despite knowing they had a connection they were all connected to, they still needed to mess around and in some cases even fall in love.)
I really liked the action in this one, and that there were some twists and surprises I wasn’t expecting. I really like all the guys and Blake, I like her reactions to things.
There is a lot that could still be edited, a lot of spelling and grammar issues especially. Formatting is weird at times too, no mark to let us know it’s a different time or anything. Also, this is something that started to get on my nerves - there are SO many characters. She has six guys, four siblings, a best friend and her two connections, a father figure, band mates, etc. etc. it was just too much, and it grows more and more throughout the series.
Overall though, this series has stuck out to me and has been very enjoyable! I thought it was complete with four books, but as of 3/11/2021, the fifth book is still not out and it’s been almost two years since the last book came out so just be aware!
The first book in this series was riddled with errors, so it was nice that this book didn't have near as many, but still had some. This is still such an interesting storyline and I am fully invested but the writing could use a lot of work. It is convoluted and difficult to follow. Just does not flow well? I'm not sure how to describe it. Also really frustrated that the MCs keep ignoring/forgetting about important things they are told that could save them. But still, even with all these frustrations the actual story is Just so dang good that I HAVE to continue the series
Even more bombshells than the first book. Poor Blake wakes up in a world where NONE if her family even remembers her. She recalls every second iof her real life, and now has to figure out how on earth she arrived in the past and with everyone with the wrong people. How did her world get so utterly messed up? Having to pretend you believe all these lies. About her life is tough. Especially when she's supposedly living with her "boyfriend" Colin, who in reality she's never even dated! Trying to remain safe and avoid letting on she knows the truth... Plus running into all her connections who have no clue who or what she truly is to them is heartbreaking. Luckily she makes an ally with someone she'd met briefly in her real life. Can they become the dynamic duo and fix all this mayhem? Will she get her family and her life back.... And where oh where is her beloved sister Ella? Ohhhhh Horatio and all his evil minions will pay tenfold if Blake has any say in the matter. My money is on this fiery little spitfire This series is absolutely addicting.... I read book one and two in less than a weekend, and am already in withdrawals LOL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed book 3 will be out soon. Take the hour journey with Blake... You WON'T regret it!!
After the first book I had to at least read on. The first wasnt awful and had potential.
This book though....Holy hell talk about a convoluted book with an increasingly insane number of characters. The relationships and character personalities aren’t ever flushed out before a whole new group is added.
The editing is horrible. These books could really use a good editor who removed at least a quarter if not half of the book. There are pages and pages of the same repeated thoughts. The characters have abilities that are forgotten for ages but suddenly remembered for a different reason that could have helped 100 pages ago. My biggest gripe is why can’t Ella just share her dreams with Alex since Alex was now show to be used as a conductor of sorts. Nooooo instead we have Ella drawing and then then MC completely forgetting to look at them.
I gave up after yet more charters were introduced and more MC/harem drama happened. How do these books have such high reviews. Yikes.

Im writing this like 25% inti book 3 i love this series. Picks up where the Cliffhanger left off and what a cliffhanger that was it doesn't take you too long 4 things that you want to happen to start happening which is good. The first book is definitely my favorite really enjoying the third book and I love you so I can focus well I will say that if you're someone who really into grammar that this book had a little more errors than others but it's well worth it for this Five Star Story and it's five star read an amazing series is the sixth star series.
Enjoyed how they handles noah in this one and dealing with other girls(i think it made sense for book one though that didnt bother me)
And SPOILER ALERT ABOUT MEMORY FOR IF YOU NEED TO KNOW you need to know yes eventually they will more and more start to remember (the guys) cause its hard not knowing
.... and learn how to proofread. Seriously, this is the second book where every single paragraph had errors. Using an incorrect name, a word missing mid sentence, "your " instead of "you're" among other homonym misuses and just flat out wrong words like "at" instead of "in". Then there were the plot holes, having characters repeat the same action twice ( like taking a shirt off) followed by different dialogue that was never edited out. I don't care enough about the story to continue to fight my way through the writing itself. It's sad really, the premise had potential but was underserved by the author.
Was nervous about the whole memory loss and time tinkering plot. It worked itself out fairly well. However I miss some of the things we got in NJ ook one that are now bbn lost forever becausenof the plot. At times I felt this book got a little over the top with attempted abductions and near death experiences. I also struggle with the main character still having 2 Connections she hasn't "sealed the deal" with yet.
DNF - quit at 72% So definitely both content editor & proof-reading editor are needed. I also think it needed some beta readers to help with some of the stuff that didn't work as well as it should have in the plot (loads of plot holes!). I hoped the series would improve as I went. Book 1 held my attention enough to consider book 2, but now I regret the decision to even pick up the series in the first place. The flow is super erratic. I ended up skimming places a lot. At least the first third of this book is centered around everyone but her -had their memories wiped & time reversed roughly 2-3 weeks prior to book one. There are way too many new names/characters introduced that I couldn’t figure out who they were or how they fit into the story. There’s also to heavy a load on useless descriptions, repetitiveness or things that just bog down the story. Too many issues with stuff not jiving in the story to be believable or work (not talking about the “gift” aspects though), with loads of teen angst (which I hate) as well as other women drama with too many of the men in her RH. Also, why do 2/3rds of the other female characters that appear in this authors books all seem like raving lunatic bitches? I realize there’s always going to be a few of those, but it’s too high a percentage in her books, which is exhausting. The RH guys are too wishy washy, & their “connections” felt so forced, if I had been the FMC, I’d have run screaming & totally sacrificing everyone’s powers rather than enter into relationships with the 6 douche canoe men. I really couldn’t get to a point where I liked any of the men in the RH enough to want to continue. It was also disturbing that this series centers around a not quite 17 year old girl still in high school. I realize life experiences make her more mature, but still, she’s still to young to be entertaining a permanent RH relationship.
At my age (60), life is way too short & my time is too important to force myself to read a book I'm not enjoying, especially when there are so many other books out there waiting to be read.
This one had a lot of the elements that were missing from book 1. Things weren’t glossed over as badly, things were explained more. But the plot still took forever to move forward. There are some instances that haven’t come through, I never realized that Will was Jace’s and Jaxson’s father. I didn’t realize that Will was the connection to their mom, but it is still weird bc it made it seem like Will was with their mom and her sister but they called her Aunt. It was weird. Idk the dynamics aren’t well fleshed out and they happen later in the book and can get muddled by confusion.
I liked this book more but I still don’t understand why they don’t utilize Blake more. She had this ability to compel people, but they didn’t utilize her on the bird looking lady to get more information after she refused to give them info? It’s weird.
The scenes are still jarring to figure out when a scene changes. Yea there is a paragraph break but not enough of one to know that it’s a brand new scene. It either needs a full paragraph gap of space or to have some sort of art between differing scenes like other books do.
The relationships are good but things did get confusing when talking about the time altering. Luckily we aren’t separated from the guys for long at the beginning of the book.
Still I do like the book and I want to know what happens but there are still wrong words used. Correctly spelled words but words not needed in the story or weren’t completely erased. Like make instead of made, them instead of than, things like that. And extra word here and there. It can be edited and still miss all this because it needs to be read through completely.
I really enjoyed the book. It flowed naturally as did the first one. It did give me anxiety in some parts but thankfully it ended quickly. The whole kidnapping thing is getting old. Blake was kidnapped a few times in this book, and thankfully she survived each one. I hated that she had to relive the same chapters of her life, doing things differently. Thankfully, she treated her connections better so they were able to form their relationships smoother, and less bumpy. Blake started showing jealousy as some of the guys still held back and she wasn’t sure why. It disappointed me to read that her musical talent was hardly even mentioned in this book. It was such a large part of the first, and Blake just wanted to ignore it in favor of other things. I didn’t understand why she was so underweight. It was a complete shock and I think was just something extra thrown in. If it was never mentioned, we never would have known. I wish the guys or even Drake would stick up for her against the vicious women in their lives. Besides those things, I really did enjoy reading the book. There was a few scenes that broke my heart, and made me really feel for Blake. I felt her pain as my own. I’m so glad, that she found love again, acceptance, she found her sister Ella. Convinced the Liar to switch sides. I loved how when the guys figured it out, they all took her seriously. It wasn’t long before she was able to complete the connections and the heat was 🌶️🌶️🌶️! Loved the length! Cant wait to read the 3rd one! Enjoy!
I’m disappointed, honestly. I’ll try to explain it without giving any spoiler. First of all, I didn’t like the approach towards the “connections”. I usually have no problems with fated mates and stuff but It seemed like in this book (and the previous) the link felt like an obligation, a burden. I understand that it’s overwhelming and all of them had their lives before, but it still felt like such a bad thing even though they say they’ve been waiting for her all their lives. And also they had no choice but to accept it because they could loose their power? Even if ONE of them didn’t accept it? You see, it just had a negative feel to it. And I think most of it is because Blake and her men have no chemistry whatsoever. They don’t even have a strong relationship development. And I’m not even talking about the OW drama (which is still strong and pisses me off), but I just don’t feel it. One minute Blake is insecure complaining about feeling left out (which I understand based on their behavior), the next minute she’s naked having sex as if this is “getting to know each other better” or making the relationship deepen in any way. And besides all of this there’s the fact that there’s sooooooo much going on and so many characters and yet at the end I felt like nothing important happened at all.
And YET, I gave it 3 stars. Why? Because I just can’t stop reading this thing!
I realize now, these series have a "show don't tell" problem. That is why I can't connect to the characters. Author talks a big game but when it comes down to executing...either erotic scenes, action sequence or any kind of conversations, it falls flat. Big useless time jumps to events that only "talk" and never ever "show". Description after description of what they eat, wear, do etc. MC always thinks about how much she needs to communicate with guys and she doesn't! The only important conversation to have in a book is mentioned, marked as 'done' and the next scene we have is a low rated erotic scene. Lame one at that. S.M. Oliver's conversations come down to "catty enemies" comebacks where MC doesn't even shine and where main love interests very often take OW's side. Yeah. I am not that masochistic.
The timeline is messed up. Nothing adds up. The whole situation is stupid. How she handles it, who she turns to or why the hell "evil people" placed her right there. The allies and enemies. The whole 'magic' system is empty and underdeveloped, 'the school' is lame, lessons are weak. You could do so much about it... delete 70% of the book and write only half of it but with gusto and it would change the whole game. All of it is absolutely slopy. I won't continue.
Another brilliant instalment to this series. Blake has grew so much more throughout this book. It was a journey throughout this to get back to the happy place that Blake was at the end of the last book. Each of the boys didn’t seem to be as prominent in this book individually but more as a whole group. Connections are finally made but that was the part where I felt this book fell short. The previous book put sooo much emphasis on Blake making these connections and when she finally does - we were not told much at all. No explanation about extreme powers - we were basically left to fighter that part out for ourselves. I also felt myself get a bit lost between each of the boys and kept trying to work out where each of them were with8n each of the scenes. They tended to meld into one entity which was a shame because the first book had put so much effort into creating their individual personalities. Overall the storyline kept me interested and now another cliffhanger will be making me check out the next book.
We get answers then a thousand more questions! At the end of book 1, we saw Blake waking without her connections and housed with a man she had no reason to trust. Ella’s predictions came true... but Blake has a plan.
This novel carried everything forward, from the connections to the deepening intrigue spawned by Horatio. It’s a great addition to the series and definitely worth reading - though I did not find it quite as compelling as Book 1.
Pros: - How could the guys just forget her? Well, the author clears that up in less than 2 pages, and perfectly. Book 1 foreshadowed a gifted with the gift of time, after all... though I apparently didn’t catch the significance at the time. - Blake: Once again younger, but no less bada$$. - plot it intricate and wide sweeping
Cons: - some editing issues, detracts a bit. - Felt it could have been edited for content more, there was “filler” that could have been left behind. - Characters are not always clear - The sheer character count is rising, I need a spread sheet!
I don’t know why, but I can’t seem to find Book 1 in Goodreads. So, this review is for both Books 1&2. I really enjoyed these books. I was sucked in from the beginning and didn’t want to put them down. They both need a fair amount of editing, or I would have given 5 Stars. The story made it worth bumbling through all the corrections in my head, but it was still a frustration at times. That and the fact that the author occasionally seemed to go off on short tangents in the middle of something important happening.
Although, again, I do feel like the story was good enough that it was worth it. This book does end on a bit of a cliffhanger and there isn’t another book out yet. I will be watching anxiously for a continuation of this series. The books do have some content that might be a trigger for some readers. They also have some sexual content that I felt was fairly easy to skip over for those that prefer not to read those details.
This is just book two and my emotions are all over the place. I’m happy I decided to continue reading the series with this book. A lot happens and in some ways it was a do over but in the ways that mattered in my opinion it just felt like a continuation and a growth for the 1st book.
I love how every felt like it something that could be happening right now in our world as it is today. I felt deeply connected with everyone. I can’t wait to see when Rachel finds her own connected. I’m happy we learned more about Gavin. It’s funny that he is the center for his connections. I’m saddened by all the deaths that are occurring in this war of gifted people. Everything isn’t clearly right and wrong. There is a lot of murky reasons for why things are done. I’m interested in where this story is going next. Maybe even Pops will get the love he missed out on before.
DNF/paraphrased most of the book. This was basically a repetition of the first one and I did not have the oatience for it. Also there are waaaay too many characters introduced in this one. I have barelyyy made connection with her connections (right) and now there are like 50 more characters I have to get to know?? That also take time away from her time with the guys?? Also I disliked how the weeks were simply summarized... is like I don't remember if it was in this or the first book that troy had jace on a mission that ended up emotionally hurting blake and he's like "remember what I did to you WEEKS ago? Well Im sorry" and I'm left like -.o
Also I had no clue what was going on by the end... there was a gane for slme reason idk to win or prove idk what and ugh
Everything was all over the place... Im not giving up on the series but ughhh I should...
This book was good but not great. I really enjoyed the first book - the characters, the setting, the plot. I liked the premise of this book but it just did not fulfill my expectations. I feel the character growth was not the same. It fell flat. I didn’t like the guys like I did in the first book. The relationship felt more forced this time. I was told about things happening more than shown it. I didn’t like the consistent drama because of the pack of communication.
Honestly, if I had not enjoyed the first book and the characters so much I would be happy and satisfied with this book. Other readers may like this book just as much as the first book. I still recommend reading it.
This definitely had me losing sleep as i couldnt put it down. I enjoyed the suspense, the mystery, i liked the trials they personally go through and the growth they get from them. It was very interesting to see vulnerability elsewhere also not just her own. I felt like i related to her so much more in this book than the first book, because of a few things she goes through that i have also, so to see it really impacted on me and took me back to my own experience. I felt like some things were repetitive, i wont say what as i dont want to spoil anything but they were short enough you didnt get frustrated with the story. Im really excited to see what book 3 has to offer.
I really enjoyed the first book, this one lost some love from me.
Blake has woken up and finds out time has gone back. She isn’t with her connected and Horatio has people watching her. She has to find a way to make her last two connections, find her guys and her sister, and the brothers she had just found out about from the first book.
The family is growing at an exponential rate so make sure you have all of the names and how they are connected straight in your head or you will be lost.
How the heck did time go back so many weeks?? And why didn’t Horatio just grab Blake instead of trying to make her think she was dating Collin.
I wish there were some things that would have been touched on more so that the flow of the story would have been smoother.
D*mn, this one was 10 times better than the last! I absolutely lucking foved this this book and can’t wait to see what happens next..... This is the continuation of Blake, Jax, Jace, Remy, Drake, Noah, and Troy’s story and d*mn if it’s not getting better and better the more I read. The story line is very original and extremely addicting, I couldn’t put it down I just had to know what happened next. And now I am soooooooo freaking sad it over and I have wait for book 3. This author has most definitely become a 1-click for me, I will be a fan for life!!! If your into RH then this most definitely a MUST READ!!!!
Wow! Another great read! I love Blake and the guys. I was so mad when I found out that Blake and the guys were separated and she couldn’t use her powers. I love the journey that Blake went on in this book and I love the new characters. They’re all so good and I cannot choose a favorite. I’m so happy for Jemmy! I can’t believe everything that has gone on in this book. There is so much action and so much romance and discoveries. I can’t wait to read the next book! SM Olivier has left me in so much suspense. I can’t wait to see what happens to Blake and the guys and the new characters and to see if we get some more new characters on the way. SM Olivier you rock!
This story just gets more interesting and intriguing as it goes along. I am truly loving the pace that naturally flows. An the way the Author has wrote the characters u can’t help but Accompany them on this amazing journey of discovery and danger.
***** 5 Star Reading Material I have read author S M Olivier’s work so I knew she is an incredible writer. I just was not expecting to be so absorbed into this unbelievable and creative story. The characters themselves add an endearing element to it that you just get more drawn in with every page.
I'm really into this series, the characters and their personalities have grown on me and I get sucked in quickly everytime I start reading again.
However, there are lots of technical errors: spelling, grammar, incorrect character names in some places, spelling errors that change the meaning of words. Those things bring me up out of the story with a jerk, as I have to puzzle out what they actually should be.
I would be happy to go through and help point them out so they could be re-edited.
Please keep the good books coming! Just need a good eye to spot the errors before publishing!😉
I am so invested in this series. Only book 2 but the story line is amazing, the connections are interesting and feel real. The only complaint I have are some small discrepancies where it was supposed to he Jaxson speaking but it said Jace and then back to Jaxson. Just some small things like that and some spelling or grammatical errors. Nothing major in that area just some things I had to go back and make sure I was following correctly but was easy to see it was just a small mistake. I love how the story has progressed so far and that the main plot has still been followed but has some side parts to keep you interested and yet not losing focus.
Let's all be honest the first book is in dire need of editing, putting a book up for sale in that disarray is not okay. In saying that the plot was interesting and seemed promising. I finished book one with the hope the author would pick it up in book 2.
Disappointment doesn't seem to cover book 2 The whole story is rehashed 4 - 5 times all the way to 48% I just got so frustrated I gave up. Why would having a shower and baking cupcakes take a whole chapter yet an important plot progression about her powers took a page and a half.
2 Stars because the writing doesn't throw you out as much as book 1
