The first time I read this was years ago when it first released, i loved it then and love it now. This couple have been through so much already but life can be cruel especially in the MC lifestyle and throws more their way. It's hot and steamy, it has a lot of angst and some twists that hit out of the blue but both are stronger now more mature and they learn to talk. I have followed Nina Levine since this book published and she has just got better and better with each book but this is where it all started and my love for the characters has stayed just as strong as they are. This gripped, it was emotional, tear jerking and romantic.
Scott and Harlow are my favourite couple, Scott I claimed way back when this first released, he is stubborn, alpha protective, he can be a pain but when he loves the recipient is consumed by it. It takes a lot for him to fall but once he does that's it he is all in. Harlow is great for him she doesn't let him boss her unless he explains the reasons, she stands up to him, she will sass him, understand and support him and love him unconditionally. There is some action and some violence as part of this plot, the club are dealing with some issues but it's all in the right concepts to the story. The heat is a high sizzle with sparks, but also has some sweet moments. This is a re-read for me and it enthralled just as much as the first time, it is no wonder I've stayed a Nina fan from day one and this book/series is still one I happily reccomend to any that ask. I totally love, love, love Scott and Harlow.
Emotional, raw and powerful follow up to Storm. This is J and Maddison, both strong willed, independent and both have tempers, but the love they have for each other is soul deep and it would take a major catastrophe to even put a dent in it. Saying that they have to put work in and talk, which is something J struggles with mainly because some things are difficult to tell her, he hates adding to any pain she may feel. So we get so angst and a whole lot of steamy heat, we also get romance and family. I am absolutely loving reading these again and connecting with one of my very first MC characters, still as fabulous as the first time and so worth waiting patiently for the chance to start them all again.
Nash always comes across as a cocky flirt where the ladies are concerned but for him its a one and done, he's been burned and broken and it haunts him. Velvet also has a past that is full of pain and she swore off relationships as a result, her friendship with Nash though is different and good until things change. There was a bit of push pull and angst, but the bond based on friends helps them open up and grow stronger, ultimately it's Velvet strength, support and forgiveness that allows Nash to work his demons out and find something very special. The plot running alongside the romance is complicated and twisted, causing lots of issues and having readers wonder just what the outcome will be especially when a few don't know who is trustworthy. Emotional tear-jerker with some fabulous banter, families connecting and lots of loving. Thoroughly enjoyed 're reading this beauty, just as good as first time around with characters ive followed on for years, seen them grow and get stronger. Amazing
Storm Storm definitely had the potential to be great MC book. Unfortunately, it was all lost in the mix of underdeveloped plot twists, repetitive lines and annoying characters. Well, to be honest, at the beginning I thought I would love this but right in the middle of the story, the interesting twist was buried under many layers of flatness. Instead of gritty, raw MC genre we got some wannabe biker who bought his bike only to get some girls and when he couldn't remember where he parked it, he had to ride his sister's pink bicycle.
Fierce Fierce was definitely better the first book in this series. I quite enjoyed it despite still having a few issues with it—calling anybody "baby! is weirding me out and since I am binge-reading Nina Levine's book, I've read that a lot—but all of them were mostly insignificant.
Blaze I am sure if I read about Madison and J first in Blaze, I would have not rated their first book so low. This novella was truly interesting to read. I love when we are able to peek into the "after". Madison and J had an intriguing chemistry. If you put those two in front of me, I would have never pointed them out as a couple but they work together. And on top of that, I can wait to see what will happen next with Storm MC.
Revive Revive was full of interesting revelations. We've finally learned something about Velvet and look deeper into Nash's life. I loved both of them together. But the stuff that was happening in Storm MC had turned my focus off of them a bit. I can't wait to see when the real shit hits the fan...
I read these 4 books Revive, Blaze, Fierce & Storm centred around Storm MC by Nina Levine when they were first released & it was time to revisit these old friends to reaffirme that they are still as good as I recalled. I have to tell you that they absolutely are brilliant & so is Nina Levine, an Australian writer who lives in Queensland (like me) and while I might be a tiny bit biased, it's still true. If you already love MC stories, then you need to read this series from the start & this box set is a great way to do so. If you are new to the MC world, these Storm books are a terrific introduction to this world. Either way, Nina will pull you into the lives of these characters & you'll love them as much as me! This is a "must read" series
I enjoyed the entire series, and will be getting the rest. The stories for each character and their choices are wonderfully written, and a series I will re-read at a later time just to go back and feel the same about each character again.
I read the first book, but it just wasn't pulling me into it. I found myself skimming most of the first book hoping it would get better but it just didn't.
