The demon war is coming.

On Enforcer probation after going against the Magister's orders, I'm in serious need of some action, preferably of the sexy vampire-warlock variety. But when a group of rebel mages forces me to break into the Blood Coven's castle and steal a powerful rune, things don't go quite as planned.

Now, the Blood Coven wants to hunt me down, my best friend has been captured by rebels, and the reports of demon attacks are growing every day. There's only one hope in all of this. The Witch's Blade, a weapon that can destroy the demons once and for all and save humanity from eternal damnation.

The only problem? To get it, I may have to betray my coven and everyone I love.

Interesting plot and dynamic between diffrent species like witches vamps and werewolves ect but writing and plot was kinda mid. Honestly just kept going through the series cause someone had a good review about the kind of romance but even that was mid at best and took an insufferable amount of time to actually get to the romance which would have been fine if it was slow burn but it wasn't even slow burn it was just the mc going "wow he's hot wait no he isn't and he's rude. Wait did he just flirt? No no he wouldn't flirt with me and I don't like him like that he's just objectively hot and I haven't had those needs met in forever! Im just going to keep lying to myself and shoving any and all feelings about him down and act like i hate him" Just denying herself over and over and on his end just little barely there hints and waits for her to make first move. Their relationship when they finally make it has no substance either. Honestly the romance between the bestie and her vamp gf was more interesting than the main pair and it was barely shown (both forbiden romance wise and because of the dynamics of the clans and species and the politics of said relationship, plus just better romance and connection all around) . The mc honestly sucked. It somehow was a carbon copy of every fantasy female main character but stripped to its basics. Low key felt like she didn't even have a personality. I tried so hard to enjoy the series and kept hoping it would get better, I read all 4 books. But it just didn't.
Also for some reason everand displays the series out of order. Probably not the authors fault though, just figured I would mention it.

Tldr: dynamic between different species/clans was interesting but writing and characters was boring af. Romance also BORING

The blade may be sharp, but the magic’s starting to lose its edge, and my patience is fraying like a worn spellbook.

Three audiobooks in, and I’m feeling the fatigue. Witch’s Blade continues the same supernatural rhythm, witches, vampires, demons, and Zoey still swinging her sass like a wand. Piper Goodeve’s narration remains solid, casting her usual charm over the story, but even her voice couldn’t fully enchant a plot that’s beginning to feel like a looped incantation.

There was a flicker of spice this time, yes, that kind, but it was more mist than fire. Soft, subtle, and barely enough to stir the cauldron. Romance continues to hover like a ghost in the background, present, but never fully embodied.

Honestly? I’m a little over this series. The enchantment that hooked me in book one has waned, and while I’m committed to finishing the final installment (it’s short, and I’ve come this far), I’m hoping it conjures something fresh before the last chapter fades into silence.

If you’ve been listening from the start, you might as well ride the storm to the end. Just don’t expect a thunderclap, maybe a whisper, if the wind’s feeling generous.

This is the third book in the Bone Coven Chronicles series. Zoe is tired of being on the sidelines with no action, and she doesn’t hesitate to say so. No sooner than saying it, her bar is overtaken by rebels who take the bar…literally. Zoe and Dorian soon learn of the treachery that is taking place in their coven, and they realize they may be the only ones who can stop it. However, Zoe may just have to let her shadow side out to play. I was sad to learn that after this book, there will be only one more. I have come to really adore Zoe and Dorian. They have such great chemistry, and this book really shines in that regard. Ms. Wolfhart really does a great job with romance and with characters in general in this one, and I can’t forget to mention how well-written this book is. Although this book didn’t have a much action as the other two, the plot was moved forward quite a bit in this book. This book was a great installment in the series, and I’m really sad and excited for the next, and last, one! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-book which I reviewed voluntarily.

The series really picks up in this third installment. Nothing stays peacefully for long for Zoe. Not only does she have to battle demons and covens but now a group of mysterious rebels appears that change everything. Nothing is as it seems anymore. Truths and lies come to light in this thrilling sequel.

I was on the edge of my seat from the first page. It was full of nonstop action and an emotional rollercoaster. I loved the characters and enjoyed learning more about them. I can’t wait to see where the story goes from here as things heat up.

I voluntarily reviewed an arc from the author.

Another excellent book in the series

This is a great UF series that will capture you from the beginning and you’ll want more when it ends. The world is complex with the usual mystery, politics and secrets that will keep you guessing. Dorian and Zoe make an excellent team and I look forward to their next adventure.

Just as it was getting really good

Just as the book was getting really good, it ended. It just seemed so short. The boon was good, don't get me wrong, but it just seemed way too short and like the end just cut off. Now, I'm left with a bunch of questions and already wanting the next book so I can see what happened after this book ended so abruptly.

This book was awesome. You start off with the entire bar being transported to an undisclosed location amd the action does not stop. We get to see the relationship between Zoe and Dorian bloosem all while they work toward their goal of ridding the world of the demons that Wagner summoned.

This series is just falling flat for me. I kept hoping it would get better but with each book I care less about what happens to the characters and the "romance" has no chemistry at all. Not even bothering with the 4th book in the series.

Alliances are changing, Zoe & Dorian have a lot of choices to make. Secrets are revealed, the fate of the world is on the line.
Will they survive to fight another day?
Will the demons break through the veil?
Will this be the cause of a witch coven civil war?

I like the world. I mostly like the characters. I want to keep reading to see where the story goes.
But...
the dialogue, especially between the mmc and fmc is so simplistic. Rather like their relationship, even though that is supposed to be complicated.

A good addition to the series.

Fun and easy read. It was also a fast one. I do feel like I'm missing some things but that can just be the first person narrative.

Zoe needs to grow up ... Zoe needs to listen up ... Zoe needs to woman up (about all the right things). I really don't think I would be friends with Zoe. 😒🙄😰🤬

Book 3 of 4

I’m pleased with this series so far. Though some of the romance seemed forced its a good read. I’m interested to see how it all ends.
