VioletI was an awkward hot mess all day every day. I wasn’t good at peopling. I kept my interactions with others to a minimum, but sometimes it was unavoidable like the time I met him. He made me feel like I wasn’t as weird as I’ve always felt I was. I came alive around him. A simple touch and I was shivering in the best possible way with intense, unfamiliar feelings. He demanded truth from me, but I was afraid to reveal that much of myself.RianI owned my own tattoo shop with one of my brothers, leaving my mark on people’s skin daily. I’ve encountered diverse types of people. I met her, and she was by far my favorite brand of different. I was mesmerized by her. Her honesty and innocence called to me. When I was with her, I couldn’t stop myself from touching her. I wanted her, all of her. I gave her my truth and asked for hers in return. The question was, would she give it to me?***Can be read as a standalone***

I was born and raised in Houma, Louisiana with a little time done in Texas when I was little. I’m an oilfield wife mother of three, one girl and two boys. Never a dull moment in my house. My mind creates another world. I love writing and creating, meeting characters along the way. I’ve written for a while as a hobby. As my kids get older, I let them know they can be anything they want to if they put the work in. I decided I needed to take my own advice and here I am. I’m an author. I want to share the words in my mind to the rest the world. I love adventures and this is an amazing adventure.

06/28/20 - I paid $3.99 for this book. It was not offered on KU. I regret paying $3.99 for the book.

I was in the mood for a story the involved a shy and timid heroine. Violet was both of those things, but some things just did not work. The writing did not flow. The verbiage was awkward. The swearing felt out of place. It did not work.

Violet works in a bookstore which is close to Rian's tattoo shop. She comes in one day looking for an ear piercing hoping it will help with her migraines. It sounded more that she forgot to eat and that was what was causing her migraines. It was hard to connect with Violet. She was all over the place.

The story is written in dual POVs. It should have been written in one POV. The author tried to make Rian sound j/p, but it felt forced.

“…and I swear to all that was holy, I knew she was mine.” ~ Rian
Who doesn't love a man who knows what he wants and goes for it.

I absolutely love this book. Truth is one of my most favorite books of all times. Rian and Violet has embedded themselves inside my heart and will always be a part of me. I have laughed, cried and smiled while reading this book.

Rian has the control of a saint. Violet is a hot mess but there is something that draws Rian in like a moth to a flame. I loved their story.
