SO #7

Captain Jack’s mission this time is to buy some magic mushrooms from the black market. Of course the fungi is very bad and being sold to the highest bidder. Yes, the secret agent posing as a bad guy goes to a glamorous high end auction for villains, awesome! Jack is saddled with some unlikely accomplices and things are never as they seem.

I liked the idea of the Masters criminal haven being a heavily modified colony ship turned mobile space station. Jack having a convo with the Machinist Cognarch equivalent of Censor was chilling. Lots of fun stuff in this one.

I first became familiar with Jonathan Moeller with his Frostborn fantasy series from there I read his Ghost series and then devoured his Cloak series. He had never dissapointed me with his other series so I decided to try his science fiction series Silent Order of which this story is the latest addition and he still amazes me with his ability to create excellently entertaining stories with great characters.

The book starts with Jack rescuing another women, who then ends up accompanying Jack on his next mission. The story was enjoyable but I wasn’t really sure about the Superweapon.
