AMAZING, inspiring and titillating, this emotive romance will touch your heart but leave you smiling. Couldn't put it down!
“Collaring Brooke” is a beautifully written and compelling erotic romance that is both down-to-earth and titillating. Author Becca Jameson’s latest offering will lure a reader down a path of emotional highs and lows as its compelling story unfolds its characters deepen and develop. Add to that the ease of Jameson’s prose and readers can rest assured they are in for a treat. She uses flashbacks to develop and deepen the story and characters, in the manner of a master storyteller; she takes the reader through the experience, rather than just telling us about it. Thereby, enriching the reader’s involvement in the story’s plot. The emotional toll paid in understanding or identifying with the characters of “Collaring Brooke” is costly, but I cannot imagine any reader unwilling to pay it. In “Collaring Brooke” Jameson takes her readers through the hope and elation of first love, the ecstasy of first lust sated, and first loves initial completion and then drops them into the despair of jeopardy and hope torn. And still, this reader was compelled to turn the page to find out how this could end with an HEA. Brooke, an emotionally and physically abused child, was a woman who only felt “normal” after cathartic pain, a pain she hoped to attain from the BDSM club she cleaned. Carter falls for Brooke, but despite their explosive chemistry he knew he could not cause Brooke pain, or “give her the pain she needs”. A seemingly insurmountable chasm? Were they merely toying with a future one hoped for with all her being and the other knew he could never be. . . just saying, ‘Have your tissues near.” I was given an ARC to prepare this honest voluntary review, and I must report that if it was possible, I would give “Collaring Brooke” six stars or more. It is that good, that exceptional! A true MUST-READ for those who relish a battle between the gritty and dark with idealism and light. So, with my highest possible rating, “Collaring Brooke” is going on my favorites shelf. It does deal with some darkness and the serious issues of abuse, so if that makes the reader uncomfortable, this novel may not be for you. It also has the most thought-provoking explanation and insight into BDSM, so if you have shied away from reading books which include light BDSM, then “Collaring Brooke” is a great place to start. I STRONGLY recommend you buy your copy of “Collaring Brooke” today. Let me know if you love it, too. Happy pages! 😉
