Sean is the sixth book in the, For The Love Of A Good Woman series. It can be read as a standalone, but characters from other books appear throughout the series. Sean is a love triangle romance, but is also a comedy.
“I’m not driving faster. It’s against the law,” Lillian said primly.“You’re with a cop!”“But I’m not an officer. I could get pulled over and then I would get a ticket.”I stared at her for a second in disbelief. “Are you kidding me?” I shouted. How did I possibly get stuck with the slowest driver in the world when I was after a suspect?“Shit. Where’d the car go?”“It didn’t go anywhere. It’s an inanimate object.”“What do you mean it’s inanimate. It’s moving!”“But only because someone is making it move. It doesn’t move on its own, therefore it’s an inanimate object. So, it can’t go anywhere. The correct way to say it is, ‘where is the car’.”“Just pull over the car and I’ll walk. I can’t deal with an English lesson while trying to do my job.”“I can’t pull over. There’s nowhere safe to do so.”“Then I’ll jump from the car.”“Now that’s just silly. Do you realize how injured you could get?”“At the speed you’re going, I could probably land on my feet.”
Sean Vira is every man's fantasy. She's sexy as hell and dynamite in bed, but I can't get her to commit to me. After finally seeing the light, I walk away, determined to move on. She's always there, though. She pulls me back in, making it impossible to walk away and always hoping this will be the time I'll change her mind.Lillian is prim, proper, and a grammar Nazi. She drives me absolutely insane, but under all that is a sexy teacher waiting for someone to help her let loose. She drives me crazy, both mentally and physically, but I'm not sure she's the woman for me.
Lillian Sean is exactly the type of man I need to avoid. I'm not everything I appear to be and if someone took the time to get to know me, he would see that. Sean isn't one to stick around, though. He's crazy about a woman that is the complete opposite of me. How could I ever hope that he would see me the way he sees her?
Vira I'm crazy about Sean, but he wants something I can't offer. No matter how many times he tells me he's through with me, he always comes back for more. Lately, though, he's been seeing another woman who is nothing like me. He seems to really like her and so do his friends. If I don't step up and make things right between us, I'll lose him for good.

Sean and Vira or Sean and Lillian...
Sean is totally in love/lust with Vira and wants an exclusive relationship with her. The sex is explosive and he doesn't have enough of her. Vira has serious issues and doesn't want a relationship, she wants sex and right after kicking the guy out of her house and moving on with her life until she gets horny again and wants to scratch the itch.
Sean is a poor bastard taken around by his dick by Vira.
She wants nothing to do with him but sex, until she feels threatened by Lillian.
Lillian is a woman of principles and moral values that totally clash with Vira's bitching. Lillian has class and ends up charming not only Sean but all of their friends.
Sean and Lillian start dating and everything is going well between them. They're hanging out and getting to know each other and talking a lot, which he's never done before with the women in his life.
But Vira decides to pay Sean a visit and the two have a crazy night of sex and Sean ends up forgetting that he's set up an early date with Lillian. Lillian sees Vira leaving and he confesses that he had sex with the bitch and confessed that he loved Vira but she left anyway.
Lillian is devastated and the result is truly hilarious.
Lillian is a very peculiar and lovely lady.
Sean went straight to my shit list and I was disgusted with Vira. She looks like a child who refuses to put down a toy, even though she doesn't want it anymore.
He should be bathed in bleach and rushed to a health clinic for a thorough examination.
Many things happen and I confess that I was entertained with the story until the end.
Our heroine is inexperienced and a virgin... At the end of the m*#@$f*cker gets an award despite being a cheater. But if it's good for her, it's good for me.

All stars go to the heroine who corrects people's grammar and when she gets drunk she speaks with a British accent a lot of British slangs!

Vira was one hundred percent against relationships. She’d had a boyfriend when I met her, but she insisted on it being an open relationship. The guy had been fine with it at first, but once he realized how amazing Vira was, he pushed for more, and that had been the point that she walked away.

When Vira was shot at a nightclub, I took her home and did my best to care for her, but even then, she didn’t want me helping her. So here I was, a year and a half later, still pining away for a woman that would never give me what I wanted.

That was one of the things that made our relationship so difficult. If I decided to move on, I would still see her at get togethers.

“I don’t have to be at work until ten. I can hang out-” “Sean, don’t do this. You know the rules. If you keep pulling this shit, we can’t sleep together anymore.”

“I’m tired of just being your fuck buddy. You know I want more, so you’re going to have to give me something if you want this to continue. I’m not asking for all of you, just give me something.” “I can’t.”

“What changed is that I’m not going to be the schmuck that waits around for you anymore. I can’t. It’s been a year and a half and I can’t get any more from you than a quick lay and a night at the club. You don’t even share normal details of your life with me.”

“This isn’t about me not getting my way. This is about me finally seeing that you are a selfish person that doesn’t care about anyone but herself. You may think you care about others, and up until a few minutes ago, I thought you did too. But now I see that you just don’t have it in you to truly care about how your actions affect others.”

I had yet to find a woman that liked the kinky shit that Vira and I did together.

I was ready for someone to be mine, and that was something I would never get with Vira. She slept with other men over the last year and half and I just couldn’t take it anymore.

Apparently, Sean and Vira, the beautiful woman he walked out with, were having a sexual relationship. Now I knew that no matter if I had accepted a drink invitation from him or not, there would never be any way things would go further with us. Sean was obviously a man whore and there was no way I could ever be involved with someone that treated sex so casually.

My breathing slowed and I finally opened my eyes, disappointed to see Frank and not the man I truly wanted.
“Sorry, Frank. I don’t do dates and I don’t sleep with anyone more than once, but thanks for the release.”

“Vira, you know I love you, but you have to stop this. He’s loves you and you’re stringing him along.”

“Then you should do the right thing and stop seeing him. He deserves to find someone who wants the same things as him and as long as you’re in the picture, he will always want you. It makes it impossible for him to move on.”

Then I thought of Vira and how simple things were between us for the most part. I got everything I needed sexually with her, but she kept me at a distance, never wanting to share herself with me.

“Vira. I thought we both agreed this was over?”

This was my chance. I needed to reign Sean back in. He was trying to walk away from our arrangement and I couldn’t let that happen.

Two hours later, Sean had me panting on the dance floor. Not from dancing, but from the way he was running his hands over my body and whispering in my ear all the dirty things he wanted to do to me later.

“Here we go with this shit again. Vira, I tried staying away from you for two months. Neither of us was happy and you know it.”

“Yeah, I did, but then you showed up on my doorstep. This can’t happen anymore. I need to stay away from you so I can move on.”

“I won’t come back to you because you’re a selfish bitch.” “I believe you said that last time also.”

While I liked hanging out with Lillian and I was extremely attracted to her, I wasn’t sure I could hold out for her. I still craved Vira and even though I had told her we were over, if she just came to me and offered more of herself, I would be with her in an instant.

“Vira. What are you doing here? We’re over. You shouldn’t be here.”

There was no denying my attraction for her. I was getting hard just looking at her and it had been too long since I had touched her.

“Well, it’s not everything I want to know, but it’s a start. Are you sure you want to do this? There’s no turning back from here. Once you’re mine, I’m not giving you up.”

“Sean, fuck me. You know how I like it, so give me what I want.” “Anna-” I flinched at the name.

“You are so damn sexy. I tried to push you out of my head, but you were always there. You were under my skin from the moment I met you and I don’t think there’s any way I could ever work you out of my system.”

“I love you, Vira. I’ve been waiting for you for so long.”

“I offered Sean more and then he made love to me and told me he loved me and I ran.” “You did what?” I heard from the doorway. I turned to see Logan standing in the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest. He looked pissed.

As mad as I was at myself, I was even more pissed at her that she would come here and offer something only to run away. I told her she would be mine and she didn’t tell me no. I had to be done with this.

“Sean. Please, just tell me the truth.” “Yes, I slept with her.”

“I don’t understand. Did you ask me to come here so that I would see her leave? Did you plan this?” “No. I swear I didn’t. It was all a horrible mistake.”

“The reason I kept going back to Vira was because I loved her, or at least I thought I did.”

“Why would you date me if you were in love with another woman?” “I wanted Vira, but she kept pushing me away. Then I met you and you were just so much different. You were open with me and I was attracted to you. I wanted to know more about you. I didn’t think about Vira at all when I was with you.”

“But you still slept with her when you were dating me. All it took was her coming over here for you to decide I wasn’t worth it.”

“Well, I hope you two will be happy together.” “You don’t understand. I told her I loved her and she ran. I don’t think she would ever accept what I wanted to offer her. It’s over.” “How can you be sure?”

“That may be, but you also destroyed whatever was happening between us.”

“Do you honestly think a few dates will make it up to me? You chose a woman who used you as a play thing over a woman that wanted to build something honest with you.”

I feel sorry for you that she messed with you and treated you like you were worthless.”

“I was dating a good woman and we were doing well, but then you walked back into my life and pretended like you wanted something-” “I did-” I held up a hand to stop her. “You played me again. I told you that if you and I got back together, you would be mine. You didn’t deny it. You didn’t tell me no. Then you ran out of here and left me.

“Vira and I are over.” “Yeah, I’ve heard that before.”

“How do you know? When we were out together, he seemed to really like you,” Harper said “And yet he slept with another woman.” “Touche.”

“How can you want me back? You just told Vira you loved her and now you suddenly want to be with me. I don’t understand it.”

No rating, skim-read
The h is a pathetic doormat
No pride, ugh
OW gets her own PoV chapters. Nice 🙄
OW and H had more connection/chemistry
H and h had zero chemistry
h was naive, boring and a fool
No grovel
Unconvincing romance

Rant 😠:
H/h spent enough time getting to know each other and he was pursuing her. But when the OW he was obsessed with came back to him, he dropped the h like a hot potato and had sex all night w/ OW. He begged her to finally give him a real relationship. The only reason he ended up with the h is because the OW rejected him for the 100th time and he didn’t trust her not to do it again. So to me, the h was a consolation price and not even a great one at that…
Because what they had wasn’t passionate or exciting like what he had with the OW. No grovel or redemption, in fact, he treats her like crap later on. He wouldn’t have treated the OW that way. Epic fail.

Edited 7/4/2023…. Once again this popped up on FB, at least this time I checked before starting a reread.

Nope, just no. Immature characters, really ridiculous story. I’ve got to stop getting recommendations from FB. This was just painful.

Reread January 2026 This book still puzzles me as to how many sex scenes there were with Vira and how in love Sean was with her for 50% of the book. Lillian the fmc is a 28 yo straight laced virgin school Teacher. Sean is hot for her but just as a time filler while he tries to get Vira to love him. His internal monologues say it all. He has sex with Vira multiple times while putting the charm on Lillian. He takes Lillian on fun dates etc. He tells her to meet him for a date one Morning but he forgets all about her when Vira shows up and they have sexcapades all night long. He gets Vira to admit she belongs to him and he’s ready to Ride off into the sunset until he wakes up the next morning and Vira has once again dumped him
After sex. When Lillian shows up for their date at 7 am she sees Vira leaving. I considered it cheating because he is seriously wooing Lillian.. but she just forgives him
Immediately and gives him
A second chance.

First read May 2023
This could have been better if Vira the OW was not so
Much in the picture… I did not care about her POV…. It takes away from The romance. I think the author just loved Vira too much.

So, as these 1 star reviews come to my attention, I'm still leaving an honest review but I want to encourage authors who are willing to write my catnip trope to keep trying! We've had so many reviewers leave hate reviews for the trope, not book, but tropes or the author themselves. Most of the time they've not read the book or have just out right stolen the book bc these authors aren't seeing the money that that many reviews would suggest they would have in sales. It's gotten so bad, I have a hard time even logging on to GR or engaging with others. What a damn shame bc that's just another way of banning a book you don't like on principle or "morals". But we seem to be in the age of "if I don't like it, you can't either".

Edit 3/24/18
I took the commenters suggestion to heart and finished the last 10%. It didn't change my thoughts, at least not in a positive way, so my review still reflects how I feel. :)

Ok, in the interest of honesty, I technically DNF'd at 90%. But I still think that gives me the right to rate it. At 90% the h does someth so stupid the term TSTL can't even START to describe it. I didn't care for the writing, either. Also, I realize this was supposed to be a love triangle, but when there are 4 or 5 sex scenes (I can't remember) and they are ALL between th H and the OW...........well, not really seeing the triangle here folks. Like I said, I read to the 90% mark and we had yet to see the H & h in an intimate setting. I realize the h was a virgin and wanted to wait until she was married before she had sex, but it needed to be handled better than this because I really wondered if the author just changed her mind and stuck the virgin as the h at the end.

I have seldom read a book with such little passion between the hero and the heroine.
Bad? No, worse. The hero is basically raging in love and lust with a woman for a half of the book, that I thought was the heroine, until I understood that she was ow.
They’ve been having sex for one year and a half, and he’s madly in love with her, but she doesn’t do serious so when she refuses him again, he ends things with her. Ok, this happens at least four times in the book. And he’s already dating the heroine. He meets her at a school, and the writer would like to give us a character like a hot sexy prim teacher, but she’s quite plain in personality and too boring.
He dates her because he wants a relationship with a serious woman, not a mad crazy one like ow, but every time ow turns up he dumps the heroine to have sex with ow and when ow tells him she wants to try to do serious he’s so happy and tells her he loves her. Then ow is scared and runs again, so the hero decides it’s over for good and starts dating the plain. Boring. Safe. Heroine.
Jezuz the romanticism.
There’s a would be mystery that I didn’t care about.
The heroine is a virgin because she doesn’t believe in sex before marriage. But she’s not the cutie pie other authors like Lynne Graham writes about, she’s quite self centered and not believable.
I never felt passion between the, not the kind he had with ow, and I never felt love as he had for ow. Ow was not evil or bad, she was scared and not ready for a serious relationship. So it’s quite impossible to hate her and to feel empathy with the heroine.
I didn’t like this book, it was weird, not consistent and left me also cold ….i could not even muster up some anger or sadness.

OW only piss me off when they feel like the real h. Here, OMG, the OW sex was hotter (making me feel it would always be hotter than with virginal h), the H was in love with OW then convinced himself he wasn’t cuz OW rejected him, the OW plot was way more interesting, and OW HAD HER OWN POV…just, no.

Grrrrrrr…2 stars.

I won’t ever read the OW book. She’ll be like the h for me in Raven’s Place I hated her for how she fucked up the plot-lines of other H/h couples :/

Should’ve listen to the other AngstHos and skipped this…the h is a doormat, the OW is way more the H’s speed, and he’s stoked the h will never be with anyone but him, KMN

This has been on my TBR forever, and I actually realized mid-book that I’ve already read it (even had highlighted notes), but never wrote a review. Love triangles aren’t really my thing. I LOVE OW drama (dead ex, wannabe ow, etc.) and don’t mind the competition… I just don’t want my H to be hard core wavering for most of the book, and I want my h to be the #1 girl/clear winner.

Like… maybe the OW got a head start, but I want her out of the race completely before the final laps. The blurb gives most of the plot away, but I’m tagging the rest, so stop if you want zero deets.

Happy doesn't even cover the way I was feeling when I started this book. Do you know that feeling of wanting to keep reading and reading? Well I just thanked my lucky stars to have the complete series waiting for me.
Giulia Lagomarsino is the author in question. Her previous books had showed me that she's a very versatile writer because she can write a romance, a sweet story and next she's writing a thriller or a suspense book. Just get ready... Just saying.
Sean is the sixth book from For The Love Of A Good Woman and tells the stories of Sean, Vira and Lillan.
Sean's a cop that loves his job and he's very good at it. For him, to be able to help protect others is a privilege. But your career shouldn't be your only goal...
Vira is a firecracker. She's feisty, stubborn and loves one night stands. This girl is used to have things done her way and that's that. When she meets Sean she thought that she had found her fuc... Buddy but...
Lillian is a teacher that enjoys her work. Her love life is on stand by because she can't find a guy that could treat her with respect, that would be kind and simple but when a stunning cop entered her school...
Omg... I can't stop smiling. This book was so sweet and inspirational.
The plot was perfect, well written, super engaging and powerful. The interaction between the characters started bumpy but soon it evolved into something more intense.
The way the story progressed left me wanting to slap someone but at the same time I wanted to hold them.
This book showed us that if we truly love someone we will do whatever it takes to make him or she happy.
Love, friendship, loyalty are feelings that are very present in this book but drama, crime and madness will be in here to.
I'm even more in love with this series that I thought I would be.
Giulia I'm speechless. I'm so happy to have discovered you. Can't wait for the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Let me begin by saying two things:
1- I live for a good love triangle. When it’s done well, the angst and indecision makes for a riveting read. The readers feel torn and ping pong between the two options of the main character’s desire by examining the lust, and chemistry between each one.
2- this was billed as a standalone novel, so being it was the 6th of 7, I’m hoping some things were simply lost in translation.

The other woman in this book was clearly the heroine preferred by the author. She got all of the best scenes of sexual tension and attraction with the MMC. Their spicy scenes and chemistry were explored at least FIVE times, and exploded off the page. Too bad she was a raging BITCH who was both selfish, and unfeeling in her treatment towards the H. She was worse than a child who drops a toy in a room full of children and expects it to be right where she left it when she decides to pick it back up.

The “h” , Lillian is a prim, naive and puritanical 28 yr. old virgin who loves to correct people’s grammar and embarrassing herself by (supposedly) making it to nearly 30 years old having never kissed a man, or even gone on a real date….but yeah, she’s hot and just managed to escape everyone’s notice for 3 decades. 🙄

The H seesaws between hiking and fun day dates with the h , and sexing up the OW he claims to love mere moments before the h is supposed to arrive for an outing.
I was honestly confused for the entire book. I didn’t know where it was leading, but not in a suspenseful..
“oh, who will he choose?!!” 😬Nail biting way.
More or less, how is he gonna leave both of these women and go to therapy to work in himself and decide what type of person best meets his needs of fulfillment and intimacy. Cause these girls… they aren’t hitting on much.

Sean, a detective for the local police department, has been chasing Vira for awhile now. While they connect sexually, Sean keeps going for more and Vira is not willing to offer him more. Enter Lillian, a buttoned-up prim and proper elementary school teacher who is not interested in casual flings or relationships. Sean finds his interest and desire for Lillian growing and then Vira decides she wants more.

Now, I usually appreciate a good love triangle, and usually, I can appreciate both sides of the story, but I'm going to be really honest here.... I hate Vira. She's a manipulative wench, and I don't think I can ever see her as a serious contender for a relationship, a love story, or a romance novel.

Despite my hate for Vira, I enjoyed this book. Giulia Lagomarsino does it again with an easy to read romance that sucks you in and holds you close. You don't know what's going to happen until it's over

I'm going to be completely honest, I'm not a big fan of love triangle stories but since I've been reading this series, "FOR THE LOVE OF A GOOD WOMAN", I decided to give this book a chance... I wasn't disappointed in the outcome ending of this story but I do have to be honest, there were some parts I didn't agree with... Not spoiling it! You'll just have to read this book and decide if you agree or not.

I do understand though that sometimes thinking you're in love with someone can lead you to make big and sometimes stupid mistakes, which was Sean's case but when a forgiving soul like Lillian comes along your way, you hold on tight and never let go of that type of woman because it's hard to find nowadays...

Lillian really is one in a million and I was completely rooting for her to stay with Sean and be the one to win his heart, even after the mistakes Sean committed... Like I said, we're all human beings and we all make mistakes because honestly none of us are perfect and some of us, including myself would not agree with Sean's decision making, he somehow rectified his errors and saw the error of his ways.

Now, Vira, she's part of the love triangle plot and I must say, I hated her so much! She was a total B&tch! She strung Sean along for over a year and then she sees him trying to move on and BAM... there's one of Sean's mistakes made... Lucky for him, Lillian is not a resentful type of woman and has inner strength even if she doesn't realize it because I know, I wouldn't have been so forgiving and I definitely would have made him work REALLY HARD for my forgiveness!

Now, not everything is drama guys, there are some funny moments in this story, especially when the whole gang gets together and it was nice seeing them be there for their friends :)

Also, as always, there's angst, betrayals, some scary moments some ow/om drama because hello!? This is a love triangle story but at the end, the better woman won Sean and he should always be thanking his lucky stars that he finally saw the light through the dark tunnel and got his happy ending with the right woman <3

SO this book was so frustrating!!!!! I have been team Vira and Sean seen Logan when Vira and CeCe were scheming them to get back at Logan and Vira ended up seeking Sean's attention to keep him distracted. I for some reason hoped and hoped and even PRAYED that Vira would change her wicked ways, but sadly that didn't happen. When Sean started to show interested in Lillian I kept thinking to myself "DON'T YOU DARE GIVE UP ON VIRA, SEAN! DON'T YOU EFFING DO IT!!!!" BUT at the same time I was sooooo mad that Vira wouldn't just admit that she felt something for him and they could work out their shit! The whole time all I could think was "Vira you idiot, just tell him how you feel before you lose him to another woman! JUST. FUCKING. TELL. HIM. ALREADY"
When she FINALLY decided to tell him her issues and say that she was in love with him, well it was too late because Lillian had stolen this mans heart. Well SO LONG VIRA, MOVE ALONG YOU MISSED YOUR CHANCE! Now I'm not saying that I don't like Lillian, because frankly, I do. That issue will be addressed a little later. Back to it, I just always picture Vira and Sean to live happily fucked up ever after. Knowing now that that isn't going to go down, I have came to terms with it.
Now back to Lillian. At first all I could think about was why in the hell would Sean have any interest in her over Vira? I understand Vira wasn't the most forth coming with her emotions and sadly it took another woman loving Sean to make her realize that "Hey, made I really do love Sean in my own fucked up way."
What I didn't expect from Lillian was how proper and priss she was. Once Sean had gotten her to loosen up some, man was she ever a hoot! Once Vira was out of the way I instantly turned team Lillian & Sean! (I know I can't make up my own mind but meh whatever," When Sean did what he did to Lillian and when Vira walked out I was speechless! That was her chance to get him back and that was Sean's chance to start over with someone who could love him right!! I kept thinking to myself "Maybe Sean should be with Vira after all, seeing as he hurt the one person who was willing to give Sean everything but one thing.. Her virginity!" This book just has me a hot mess!!!! I was so taken by this book and I couldn't figure out at times if I was team Vira or team Lillian.
Now that I got that out of the way.... I felt this book was AMAZING! Yet another book I loved by Giulia Lagomarsino! I have been extremely about Sean since he appeared in Logan and was the "distraction" Cece and Vira needed to keep him away from the situation.
Everytime I picture Sean all I can think of it someone from Magic Mike dressed up as a cop! This book was hilarious! Sean has got to be one of the funniest books I have read in a very long time. His bantering in the car with Lillian about her grandma driving is priceless!

“Why are you accelerating so slowly? A grandma in a car ten years older just passed us.”
“It’s not safe to accelerate quickly. That’s how accidents are caused.”
“Lady, you’re going to cause an accident if you don’t put your foot down on the gas.”
“Don’t swear at me. I didn’t sign up for car chases.”
“What car chase? The car isn’t even in sight anymore and you have to be going at least the speed limit for it to qualify as a car chase. At this pace, a turtle would outrun you.”
“I’m going to take you to the station. You can have someone else look for your suspect.”
“No, I need to catch this dealer or you’re gonna have a lot more drugs in your school.”
“Fine.” She pursed her lips and we finally picked up a little speed. We were just about to pass a gas station when I saw the suspect pulling out from filling up with gas.
“Seriously, he had time to stop for gas. That’s how slow you were driving.”
“Whatever. I’m going the speed limit.”
“You are now, but it took you five minutes to get to that speed. Drive a little faster. He’s putting some distance on us.”
“I’m not driving faster. It’s against the law,” Lillian said primly.
“You’re with a cop!”
“But I’m not an officer. I could get pulled over and then I would get a ticket.”
I stared at her for a second in disbelief. “Are you kidding me?” I shouted. How did I possibly get stuck with the slowest driver in the world when I was after a suspect?
“Where’d the car go?”
“It didn’t go anywhere. It’s an inanimate object.”
“What do you mean it’s inanimate. It’s moving!”
“But only because someone is making it move. It doesn’t move on its own, therefore it’s an inanimate object. So, it can’t go anywhere. The correct way to say it is, ‘where is the car’.”
“Just pull over the car and I’ll walk. I can’t deal with an English lesson while trying to do my job.”
“I can’t pull over. There’s nowhere safe to do so.”
“Then I’ll jump from the car.”
“Now that’s just silly. Do you realize how injured you could get?”
“At the speed you’re going, I could probably land on my feet.”

GAH this part made me damn near pee all over myself! There was SOOO many others but this one just stuck out and this honestly was the first thing I read when Giulia posted her "teaser" for the book. Just from reading this little bit above had me wanting MORE! Well she sure gave me more and I am soo excited for her next book Ryan and then her spin off series Reed Security!
Keep em coming Giulia, I cannot wait to see what's next :D

Sean and Vira or Sean and Lillian. Sean and Vira have been "together" for over a year. She is hard to tie down, stubborn to a fault, and fiery. Lillian is a teacher, loves her job, looking for a good man who will treat her right. Love story at it's most frustrating point. It makes you ant to get inside the book and lay hands on someone. In other words it will keep you entertained and turning pages.

Lillian is the star of this book

This book gave me so many emotions and literally had me laughing out loud unexpectedly, especially when my hubs was trying to sleep. I started this book first- but now I need to go back and start at the beginning of the series. I really want to know the rest of the crew.

I dislike reading romances with love triangles, other women drama and sexual sharing of any kind. So I chose this book as I wanted to test my preferences so to speak. Do I still feel the same way?

YES I DO!

I liked Lillian. 2 stars because she was true to herself and cared for others deeply. I thought she was sweet and kind, too good for Sean to be honest. Her reaction when she saw Vira leaving Sean’s house was pure class. She cried, she was firm and stuck to her beliefs, and she left. I liked that.

But aside from the triangle bit, which I knew going into the book, what I absolutely hated was:

* The author made Lillian clownish. The scene at the pub after she saw Vira leaving Sean’s house the morning she was supposed to have a date with him, was utterly stupid. Why make her a poor sad pathetic drunk that Sean needed to take care of?! Why not have her grieve in her own classy way and make him grovel? Have her go on dates with other men, have fun - despite her sadness over Sean! She’s a virgin but she doesn’t need to sit at home all the time!

* I hated Sean and Vira’s detailed sex scenes, those could have been left out - it was just too intimate. He wanted her so much and that’s why on to the next point...

* Vira was a bitch here, she decided to go after Sean even though she knew he was getting to know Lillian. And I disliked Sean. It just made me feel horrible that he could kiss Lillian, ask her out on another date and then sleep with Vira that same night.

* I was also bothered by the fact that Sean slept with Vira without condoms!

And...

* I hated that he asked Lillian to leave after she took care of him for two weeks.

* I felt that Sean didn’t do much to get together with Lillian - she gave in to him so easily every time.

But thankfully...

* Loved that he made the effort for her with her birthday, decided she was worth waiting for, finally got how she made his life so much better by just being in it, and was clear that what he felt for her was so different compared to Vira. The last 40% saved the book for me.

Overall, though the ending was lovely, I would have liked to see him grovel for her more. I would have loved it if the author had her take a step back and play it cool. It’s not playing games - it’s making it clear that he needs to earn her back after what he put her through.

So that marks the end of my ‘test’ with regards to reading romance novels featuring love triangles. I’ll stick to my lovely sweet alpha safe heroes who don’t see or want other women once they meet their heroines!

I’m honestly not sure why I read this book or kept going. It was entertaining but in an immature dramatic way. Two of these three main characters need STI lessons. They were each kind of nasty which does not endear you to the MMC at the end. It is not a believable ending or a believable couple in anyway so it falls short of a HEA.

First, we have Sean, a cop, who seems to be in love with two women. He’s unhealthily obsessed with Vira. He’s been fucking her for a year and a half and caught feelings despite Vira telling him many, many, many times she does not do commitments and does not want to have a relationship. In fact, when he met her, she had a boyfriend (but open relationship). She does not date, does not let guys stay over, does not hang out with them outside a group.

The entire relationship between Vira and Sean is that Sean comes over, they bang like bunnies and then he’s supposed to leave which of course hurts his ego and pride. So of course, both Sean and Vira sleep with other people while sleeping with each other. To each their own but NOT what I like reading about as a main male character. And yes he’s our MMC. Walking talking ego with tattoos. He’s also not a believable cop because he constantly breaks the law and bends it to his will while chasing “corrupt” cops which again… irony.

Vira is the “other woman” but not really because she was there first. Due to her past traumas, she truly sees nothing about relationships she likes. She doesn’t do commitment, ever. She likes to f*ck a lot and does it quite frequently. She has some feelings for Sean but she doesn’t love him in any way. She just likes that he tries hard with her and is obsessed with her. She flirts with other men, makes out with other men, and lets Sean think she’s screwing other men so he doesn’t get “too attached.” This changes at some point when she really does sleep with other men.

She’s kind of a selfish brat, a lackluster friend, a mean girl and is super catty while being entertaining. She only wants Sean when he starts dating someone else. We get her point of view WAY too often in my opinion because she is not the female lead. While interesting, the author could have cut her parts in half and I would have enjoyed it way more. I also did not need the sex scenes between her and Sean through the entire freaking book either.

Lillian- a teacher who is a bit too naïve for the real world. She was raised religiously so at 28 she is still a virgin waiting for marriage (rolling my eyes, this trope is SO played out). She meets Sean during a drug bust at her school and the next night while she’s on a date with someone else, he flirts with her and talks dirty to her in which she turns him down. He gets pissy and leaves with Vira. (Yeah. He’s that clown.)

She becomes friends with Sean’s whole group of friends by accident so starts frequently being around. She’s not weak persay but she’s that character with minimal backbone that never stands up for herself. She’s too kind and doesn’t have many friends. She’s also TOO naïve as in she’s only been kissed before, doesn’t understand sexual chemistry, has never seen porn, doesn’t what’s happening when she gets “wet”. It’s so overexaggerated that she’d have to be living under a rock to not understand what being turned on meant by almost thirty years old. She gives off that boring repressed secretly hot teacher vibe. The author has her talk, act, dress like an old woman. She’s so uptight she may has well be an ironing board. Again, mildly annoying with the character choices here. There’s religious, then there’s making it seem like she was in a cult without access to the outside world which makes no sense if she has a Masters degree in English and teaches middle school students.

The book basically goes Sean lusts/loves Vira. Vira refuses to give in. Sean is intrigued by Lillian. Lillian does not want to be intrigued by Sean but is. They annoy each other. Eventually they’re thrown together more and they start dating. They fight frequently because Sean is an overbearing manwh*re asshole (Before he finds out Lillian is a virgin; he keeps calling her a tease because she would not sleep with him right away and he constantly insults her and her beliefs). Vira comes back to fuck with Sean’s head on multiple occasions. They have sex. Multiple times. Even while Sean is “dating” Lillian. Sean still loves Vira. Tells her he loves her. Vira walks out. Sean is heartbroken and decides he wants Lillian. Lillian and Sean get together in the end.

Throw in some added dramatic plot like drug dealers, car chases, corrupt cops and threatening behavior from bad guys and you have this book.

Again, absolutely NO need to write a romance with more sex scenes, more thoughts in his head and more internalization from the third party in the book (OW) than the actual FMC and MMC. This read like a cheating book (well it was) from beginning to end and let me thinking Sean would 100% cheat on Lillian in the future.

It should have been a book about Sean and Vira where they live unhappily ever after until they both die. They deserved each other more in the end since they’re both selfish assholes. I absolutely believe if Vira snapped her fingers at her side, Sean would run to her again.

She turned toward me in her seat. “Fine. I have a question for you. What’s the situation with you and Vira?”

“There is no situation.”

“But you dragged her out of the bar the other night, and your friends made several comments about the two of you not being together anymore.”

“We were never together. We were fuck buddies. I wanted more and she wasn’t willing to give it. That night was a slip.”

“And how many times do you slip?”

“One other time, but she’s made it perfectly clear where she stands.”

“So, even though you’re sleeping with another woman, you’re still flirting with me and trying to get me to sleep with you. That is the problem with relationships nowadays.”

“What is?”

Literally, that’s basically the whole book’s plot ^^^^^^

This was better than I expected based on some of the reviews. I thought Lillian was going to be a doormat, but she wasn't. Sean did work to prove himself maybe not long enough but books can't go on forever. Lillian made me a little nuts with how naive and innocent she was. I get she came from a religious/conservative family, but I truly find it hard to believe that someone her age was THAT unaware of anything sexual and was that strict about EVERYTHING. And I hated when she pulled the crap about his job. She came across as condescending, judgy or morally superior, which annoyed me. And she seemed a bit contradictory to be so innocent and clueless yet she had no qualms confronting Sean when she saw Vira leaving his house and then sticking to her guns about not getting back with him.

I did hate Sean for the crap with Vira. He wanted Lillian to give him a chance, but he also knew if Vira came crawling back and gave him what he wanted he'd ditch Lillian in a heart beat. With how innocent Lillian was, he shouldn't have done that to her. But based on reviews I thought he never loved Lillian and she was always second best, but I didn't feel that way at all while reading. I think Sean realized what he had with Vira was never real but his love for Lillian was.

And Vira... UGH! She was the worst. Each time Sean and Lillian got close, she came crawling back and gave him just enough more than usual that he thought things had changed. I don't care if she supposedly saved Sarah or whatever woman it was at the end; she was selfish and immature. She knew what Sean wanted, but she refused to give it to him or let him be happy with someone else. He was something comfortable for her; she didn't want him but didn't want anyone else to have him either. She just wanted someone who would come whenever it was convenient for her. I'm beyond disappointed with Cece for continuing to be friends with Vira after the BS she pulled on Sean and Lillian. How many times did Vira basically tell Cece that she might love Sean, but basically she just didn't want to lose him yet Cece kept being her friend. I'm sorry, but you don't allow your friend to treat another friend that way. Cece had to know Vira was just using him as a toy, but she never really called her out on it. And I don't care what Vira's childhood was like; that does not make it ok for her to treat other ppl like crap. Again I'm tired of this being used as an excuse for ppl being the way they are. Get yourself some therapy and be a grown up. Being treated like crap doesn't excuse you from doing to the same to others. In fact, you should be ashamed for not doing better since you know how it feels.

There were some funny/cute parts in the story although I did find the ladies a bit over-the-top ridiculous at some points, like the paint debacle. I loved the karaoke and Lillian rubbing off on Sean who also started correcting everyone's grammar. And the ending with Sean and Lillian drunk talking in British slang, so no one knew what they were saying, but we got the perfect clue to figure it out after they got home. Sadly, I can't read Ryan's book, which is the last in the series, even though I'd love to see more Sean and Lillian, even if it's just snippets. I refuse to read a romance book with no HEA. That being said I will definitely be checking out more books by this author.

Made me want to scream! Sean really made me want to pull my hair out at times. Sean is the sixth book in the For the Love of a Good Woman series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but should be read in order as each book is interconnected. Reading them all gives you the full experience. Sean is a little different than the other books in the series when it comes to writing style. This book has romance and heat, but it also makes you want to murder someone.
The plot of this book is interesting. I really liked Sean from all the other books so I couldn’t wait to get his story. Going into this book, I was totally team Vira. I liked whatever they had before and could see the potential of it becoming more. That quickly changed when I met Lillian. The plot of this book is all about Sean and who is he going to pick. You have bad girl Vira who he has a history with and good girl Lillian who is new, but is also offering him something he has always wanted. So who will he choose?
I really liked Vira in the previous books. She is an amazing friend to Cece and an all around good time. I really like how honest she is. I will admit that this book changed my view of her slightly. I still like her, but I think she has some more to be worked out in herself. Then you have Lillian. I didn’t think I could like who I viewed as the other woman. I was invested in Vira and Sean. Then I met Lillian and I loved her. I like her uptight and proper attitude. It was just what this story needed to spice it up. Then you have Sean. He is a protector at heart, but he is also dirty. I liked that about him in previous books. I liked how he still had some dirty, but how he also showed another side to him.
The heat in this book is all over the place. I will say that there is no cheating in this book. At least, I don’t view anything in this book as cheating. I will say that he goes back and forth between the two girls, but it is what is to be expected with a love triangle. He was never sleeping with both women at once. The heat in this book was perfect. I really liked how the heat between Vira and Sean was different than the heat between Sean and Lillian. It really showed how the chemistry between two people change the feel of the intimacy they share.
The writing style of this book is good. It is told from all three characters point of view. Sean is who we hear from most, which is to be expected. I liked the used of time jumps. The pace of the story is steady. I liked how each character had their own view. I marked this book down on writing style because I felt like the main plot was never really solved. I mean I suppose maybe it was in the authors eyes, but I felt unsatisfied.
Overall, this was a good book. I was happy to see Sean get his happy ending. After everything he went through in previous books, he deserved to be happy. I cannot wait to read Ryan’s book next. He is the only single one left in the group. I am excited to see where the author takes him. Great job.

My rating: 4 stars

What I liked: I really liked Lillian(h) and how quirky she was. I also really liked the side characters. I was laughing so hard at the part of them being arrested for smoking weed. I also loved how Sean(H) “married” her before making love to her even though she said she was ok with it.

What I didn’t like: Vira(ow), she wanted Sean to satisfy her sexually but for nothing else. I was confused about the part where she say she didn’t sleep with anyone else when she did at her job. Also, did the other guy Vira slept with use a condom and did Sean?? Because if he didn’t why wasn’t there a talk about STD’s or pregnancy.

How hot was it: 3 out 5

Triggers: OW drama and Cheating (they didn’t define their relationship but he was taking her out on dates and started having feelings for the h, so I say cheating others might not). H is with ow in the beginning of the book. They have fwb agreement because ow doesn’t want a relationship. H believes he is in love with ow and gets mad when she doesn’t want more since they been doing this for a year and a half. H decides to stop seeing ow. H meets h when looking into a drug deal at the school. H and h start going on dates. Ow realizing that she is losing H seeks him out and tells him she wants to try a relationship with him. Unfortunately, H forgot that he made a date with h and she comes over and sees ow leaving (ow left because H said I love you and she got scared). h confronts H and he realizes he messed up. He finally knows he wants h and he never loved the ow. He gets back with h, but then ow realizes she does love the H. She goes to H to tell him that she does love him and he tells her that he doesn’t want her and she leaves.

Final thoughts: I really enjoyed this book. Yeah the H is an idiot and I would have liked for him to have suffered more but at the end I truly believed he loved the h (especially waiting to make love to and “marrying” her when she was ready). I also loved the humor that was in the book. This was my first book from this author and I definitely will read more of her books.

I was really looking forward to Sean’s story and I found it to be quite the page turner. You know you’re enjoying a book when you lose all respect for sleep and have to keep reading.

As I’ve already read Sean’s sister’s story (Sinner) he was already a character that I liked but he has been one of my favourite characters in this series and I loved finally seeing things from his perspective. Lillian was a great character and I liked how she was very different to the other female characters so far in this series. Giulia does a great job of creating unique hero and heroines who are perfect for each other even if they don’t realise it yet. I was rooting for these two to sort things out quickly as I thought from quite early on that they were going to be so good together, if only Sean realised things sooner.

I’m not adverse to other woman drama in books but Vira is a character I didn’t particularly like in Logan and here my dislike only grew. I can kind of see her reasoning behind some of her actions but I really struggled to sympathise with her or not get annoyed by her. I think Giulia intended for readers to feel some of that, otherwise we would struggle with the ending of this love triangle, but I found myself rushing through the chapters that were her point of view.

Overall ‘Sean’ captured my attention and I couldn’t wait to see where things were going to go as feelings became more complicated. I think this is a great addition to the series and as there were only a few intimate moments between Sean and Lillian I really hope we see some more in the future.

Get your facts straight, there’s a HUGE MISTAKE IN THIS ONE, and a few smaller ones!

Okay, I read these books out of order. So I read Cara’s book first, before her brother Sean’s book. In Cara’s book, she is tortured by a man who is going to keep her, until he finds out her brother is a cop. So he wants her to die quickly, so he doesn’t get investigated. In this book, Lillian asks him why he became a cop. He says it was because his sister was kidnapped and tortured!!!!!! Hello????

This next niggle that I have isn’t so bad, it’s just annoying! I’m English and we don’t talk like that!!!! And yes I know it’s from a book of English slang, but we really really don’t!

Okay. I’ve got to say that this author can really write. When shes not making mistakes and some of the characters feel a bit…. Not whole? If that’s makes any sense? Take Lillian. Lillian is a teacher, but we never see her co-workers, never read about her children in class, what sort of school it is. Then there’s Sean. Sean is a cop, and again we never know his friends in the police, (does he not have a partner?) we don’t know his boss, or anything about what he does!

Yet, as I said before this author can really write. The way that she writes about all three of their emotions, is really really good. Vira is so scared of relationships and feelings that she can’t take the chance of being hurt. Lillian who is a virgin and is scared to death of her feelings but still wants to try.. and Sean who is torn between the two. Mix in some danger and it’s a really good read. If you ignore the mistakes!!!

Sean has been with Vira for over a year and a half, yet he cannot get her to commit to him. What guy wouldn't want Vira--she's incredible in bed and a little spitfire. Sean can barely get her to talk to him. The only think he knows about her job is that she hates it. He can't get her to open up to him. He finally walks away from her. Only she keeps coming back--he keeps letting her in.

Sean meets the quiet librarian looking high school English teacher during an investigation at the school. He continues to run into her. She completely intrigues him. Lillian drives him insane with constantly correcting his grammar, and her prim, proper exterior. He knows that there's a wildcat hidden underneath all those proper clothes. Does she even own any jeans? Lillian is the exact opposite of Vira in every way.

Lillian hates Sean from the moment she lays eyes on him. He is arrogant, cocky, and a womanizer. Why can't she say no to him? Why is she incredibly attracted to him? She has to decide if he's worth it since Vira keeps coming back. Vira gives him something that Lillian refuses to.

Vira usually plays the field--different guy each night. For the past year and half, Sean is the only one warming her up. Sean wants something that she can't give him. Yet, this new gal can. To top it all off, their circle of friends have completely embraced this new girl. If she wants to keep Sean she will have to give him what he wants--needs. Will it cost her?

Review by: Jennifer
(3 stars)

I was so not looking forward to Sean's book, and pretty much just read it as it was part of the series. This is my least favorite trope to read, but to my surprise I ended up enjoying Lillian's character, she had me LOLing and relaying her British slang to my bestie.

Since Logan's story, Sean and Vira have had an on and off thing, Vira maintaining that she is only in open relationships, nothing serious and Sean just going along with what she wanted, but wanting more with her. When Sean finally has had enough, he and Vira part ways. After a few months, Sean meets Lillian, and finally feels that maybe he can move past the feelings that he has for Vira. But Lillian is not like other girls, in fact, she is the complete opposite of Vira. When after some persistence on Sean's part, Lillian gives him a chance and the two start to date, what happens when Vira comes back demanding that Sean take her back, and that she is who he needs to be with? What direction will Sean go?

So, I will say that I really disliked Vira, and I didnt really like Sean all that better. I was happy that the author had him realize what a d-bag he was being. At one point Lillian deserved someone a whole lot better than Sean. He just came off as someone that had no clue what he wanted. I did give this 3 stars, as Lillian had me cracking up and that was worth the boost in the star rating.
