"I didn't choose to love you," I whispered. "But now that I do, no storm is strong enough to keep me away from you."

Nyah Hunter has always believed in love at first sight. When she first sets eyes on James Parker, ‘Big’ to his friends,
Nyah realises he’s the man she’s been waiting for all her life. The only problem is, Big doesn’t want to know. He has
his reasons for keeping the beautiful blonde at bay, but Nyah won’t give up without a fight. How can he make her see
that the safest place for her is as far away from him as possible?
For Big, loving Nyah means risking more than just his heart. It means confronting a past too painful to process and
recalling haunting memories too bittersweet to share.
Intent on protecting those he loves, Big sets out to defeat his demons, once and for all; a battle that’s likely to see
him perish in the process. Only, he hasn’t counted on the unusual collection of individuals willing to work together
for the greater good.
With fresh hope in his heart and an unlikely army by his side, Big dares to dream that this time, he might get to live free.
However, has he underestimated just how far his enemy will go to destroy him?

Favorite Quotes:

My hair hurt; I had no idea your hair could hurt, but apparently after a night on tequila and Jäeger it really could.

I decided that I could live my life on an almost romance. After all, a fantasy couldn’t hurt your feelings, and an illusion wouldn’t break your heart. If I had to make that moment last for a lifetime, I would.

The closest I’d ever got to sneaking around in bushes was when Dad had me track Mrs. Hozier’s stalker, and that was not a situation I cared to remember.

“Eh, hello,” Demo called, “Bad guy about to perform something nasty. The least you could do was give me your attention.”

My Review:

Reading this story was like working out at the gym, it required effort with some of the movements being rather difficult and less than enjoyable, but it was a worthwhile and beneficial endeavor and I’m usually smiling with a sense of accomplishment by the time I finish. I recall having similar difficulties with the first book in this series as this cagey author seems to enjoy tossing the reader into the middle of the story and then slowly filling in the gaps with her steamy intrigue. Despite my petty frustrations and vexations with her pacing, Ms. Cooper has churned out yet another action-packed, cringe-worthy, and intriguing tale with lots of sexy yet filthy talking alpha males who cannot speak without expletives, sizzling sensual scenes, heartbreaking and tragic backstories, gruesome sadistic sociopaths, and lots of peril with several plot twists thrown in to keep us on our toes.

Oh wow, where on earth do I start?

I was looking for a good MC romance to read and not only did I find one but I got so much more ..

I loved the characters who are maturer, older. Nyah is in her late thirties and Big is in his early forties.

Two people who have loved and lost, been through hardships, hurt, heartache, and not really looking for love but Nyah despite her bad experiences in love still believes one day she will find her prince charming. Nyah just didn't expect her prince to ride a harley and carry a chip on his shoulder.

There is so much to this story, there's highs and Lowe's, heartache, danger, angst, blood shed and lots and lots of action.

When Big finally submits to his wants and admits he wants Nyah but is afraid to let her in due to past experiences and not wanting her harmed for being with him, the thing he fears most creeps out of the darkness and an old enemy rears his head just when he begins to consider letting someone into his life.
Big had stayed away from Nyah to keep her safe fearing this day would come.

Big is a nomad biker but with danger and threats in the air returns to his old club for help.

So much action in this and with Nyah being a Hunter her ex service man father and his boys are along for the ride too.

SOLACE is thrilling and gripping and just when you think there's going to be some happy times something else happens, it sure was a rollercoaster journey and I loved every minute of it.

I haven't read the first book in the series, I was drawn to this book for the MC content but I would definitely read more in this series and from this author.

The sex scenes aren't descriptive but Big and Nyah definitely didn't lack chemistry. Everything was brilliantly balanced out and I didn't lose interest once in fact I read in one sitting.

"I didn’t choose to love you,” I whispered. “But now that I do, no storm is strong enough to keep me away from you.”

Told in dual pov and leads to a swoonworthy hea. Available in KU.

I have been patiently waiting for this book for a year, and what can I say. It was so worth the wait.

SE Cooper manages to capture your imagination from the very moment you start reading, the story flows beautifully and oh my Big!! He makes you love him and be infuriated all at the same time!

I was so absorbed in the story I didn’t see it coming.... I am a self professed master at ‘seeing it coming’ so bravo to the author for that gem!

With any good romantic suspense you want to know what happens but you never want it to end..... this book does that and more.

I can’t wait to read the next instalment, which in any series makes me excited.

If you can’t tell already I recommend this book, highly. Get involved with the Hunter Series you won’t be disappointed!

Solace was OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!
S.E Cooper knows how to extract ever emotion from a reader. There is tons of angst and there is something for everyone In this book.
Big and Nyla have off the chart chemistry that will curl your toes, but there are things from the past that keep creeping up, threatening to take what happiness they've found away for good.
Extremely intense story that will leave you falling in love with all of the characters.

WOW just WOW,If i thought book one was off the charts fantastic, book two just freaking blew me away, this was the best MC story i have read in a long time,i just have no words to describe this author, as this is only her second book to date but her story telling and her world building is phenomenal.

This tells the story of Big (James Parker)an ex MC of the Redeemers Club who left that life ten years ago but they still help each other out in a crisis.Nyah Carter was drawn to Big from the first moment she laid eyes on him, but he is having none of it and trying to keep his distance because of his past events with the MC Club that he doesn't want to get Nyah involved in.

Nothing ever pans out as big wants, as Nyah is a strong woman and she has set her sites on Big and nothing is going to get in her way. This had all the feels with how the story started to unfold, but just when you think everything is going smoothly BOOM this author changes the goal posts that leave you reeling and totally gobsmacked. My emotions were all over the place through out this story and the events that unfolded which, bugger, i never saw coming at all. This had me bawling in a few places along with happy tears as well.

What i also loved about both these books is that the secondary characters are really likeable so i am hoping we get to have some of there story's at a later date.
What a fabulous, powerful, gripping thrilling, heartfelt, emotional story this was,the story was action packed through out where you didn't have a clue what was going to happen, this is my kind of read.I love this authors writing,i can't get enough of her books,i have already pre-ordered the next book, but boo i have to wait till end of Jan.If i could give more than five stars i would as this deserves so much more.Pure Brilliance.

I was so excited to read Big and Nyah's story. Romantic suspense books are my favorite to read and SE Cooper is a great voice in the genre. Solace is the second book of the Hunter Series but may be read as a standalone. The author gives enough background on the characters and the past action to get new readers up to speed and previous readers a nice recap. Ms. Cooper's characters are well-developed and her fast-paced plot pulls the reader right into the story and makes them fall head over heels in lust with James 'Big' Parker.
Big is a man who has had life kick him in the guts. A boy who grew up in a horrible home, only to be rescued by a group of violent bikers, the Vultures. Realizing this is not the place for him he finds his way to the Redeemers and a more peaceful life, or so he thought. Ten years later he is still haunted by his past when he meets Nyah Hunter, who he doesn't realize is the key to his future.
Nyah grew up with a loving family but her fairy-tale life didn't emerge as she hoped. Helping others to their HEA is her life in her bridal boutique, but something about the burly biker who rescued her calls to her heart. The witty banter and humor throughout the book adds to the pleasure of the story and really sets up the relationships of the major players in the book. Oh and lets not forget the sexiness that is James Parker, he invented sex on a stick and the love scenes are smoking.
Their journey is fraught with roadblocks and danger. Intrigue and suspense abound and the passion and love is palpable. Ms. Cooper hits all the emotions with this couple: pain, longing, trust, anger, lust and above all love. This author has a knack for letting the reader think things are all well and good and BAM something unexpected happens. She also does an excellent job of showcasing the other characters and catching up the readers of Silhouette on what's happening with the previous couple.
One click this book now, you won't be sorry. I do believe there is one Hunter brother left, and Kerr's tale should be another exciting journey.

Nyah Hunter is living her life just the way she wants to, now that is. After what was to be her fairy-tale life went down the drain. She has the love of a super strong family to help her through. Sure they have their share of heart ache and pain but they always seem to pull through. The only thing she is missing is her prince charming. When a certain big bad biker, tattoo artist catchers her attention it is all over.

Big has not lived an easy life. Finding himself at the hands of the Vultures MC, only to be rescued and taken in by the Reedemers MC. Running from his past after the biggest loss imaginable. He has rebuilt a good life working at the tattoo shop, making wonderful friends in Dex and Jazz. He has kept everyone at arms length not wanting to put anyone else in the kind of danger he has brought to people in the past.

There is an electrical charge between Big and Nyah from the very first meeting. Nyah is determined to get Big to notice her and give her a change. Big has noticed her and know very quickly that this could be dangerous for all involved. Will their desires and wants win out over fear of danger and heartache? Will the past come back to haunt them? Can they have their HEA?

The author does such a wonderful job of drawing many emotions out of the reader throughout this novel. The characters and addition of some pretty amazing secondary characters have you feeling like you are part of the story. Add in a high level of suspense that keeps you on your toes, looking around each page carefully as you don't know what you might find. I cannot wait for more of the Hunter Series.

'Big has a complicated past. There are things I can't share...It's not my place but he's been hurt Nyah..hurt in a way that won't ever heal...' ~(Ari)

As with her debut book,Silhouette,I had the privilege of being a BETA for this story, and SOLACE will always have a special place in my heart,as the character of James 'Big'Parker, being a topic of discussion ever since his appearance in book 1,I've claimed #BigIsMine (which is acknowledged by SE herself I might add)...what to say without giving much away...well
Honestly, with how this story progressed from start to finish,I am yet again blown away and extremely proud of what she had achieved, the beginning giving a connection to events of the previous book, yet it is easily read as a STANDALONE as there is enough to recap without a total re-telling.Told in mostly DUAL POV,The chemistry between both leads is obvious,we get heat, humor, new characters introduced along side established ones from before. There is also suspense, action, moments that I found myself going OMG-I didn't see that coming, and an emotional side to both 'Big' and Nyah again that I didn't expect, but it all rolls into an amazing read.

I have not went into any great detail as to all that happens,as it would spoil it and the book blurb gives enough to hook you into their story, for those who have read the previous, you will fully appreciate this follow on.

One of our own has done it again-Congratulations S E (Shaz) a fabulous continuation, and I look forward to the next adventure with Kerr's turn!

I don’t think any review I can give this book will do it justice.

S. E. Cooper’s follow up to Silhouette will not leave you disappointed. I wasn’t expecting the growth this new author has shown. The depth of her stories is amazing.

Big and Nyah were introduced in Silhouette and this is their story.

I loved Nyah. She is a woman who has experienced pain and came out the other side stronger and wiser. I loved that when she decided she wanted Big, not even he was going to stand in her way. She is confident, sure of herself and as much as she has known pain does not fear falling in love again. Nyah is so many of us in different ways and you will recognise yourself in her.

I fell in love with Big, I’ll admit it and if he lived on my street, I would have the biggest crush.

As Big’s story unfolds, you’ll find yourself with tears in your eyes for the pain he has suffered. You’ll also want to kick him in the behind, simply because in the beginning he is stopping himself living and loving because of his past. He knows Nyah is someone who he can give his heart too and she will keep it safe, but that’s it his fear. His fear is, can he keep her safe.

There is a moment in this book when you think, I’m on sure I could thank that person but S.E. Cooper guides you through and you come to the realisation that people sometimes do not act maliciously but with their best intentions with the information they have.

I am now eagerly waiting for the next book in the series.

The much awaited second book in S.E. Cooper’s Hunter series was bloody brilliant! She had a combination of romance and suspense. I was so glad to see her finally follow up with her amazing debut book, with what I would consider an even better book. She expanded her writing and was more in depth with her characters, Nyah and Big.

Big is a man with few words and a dark past. He likes to get right to the point, instead of beating around the bush. He comes off as he doesn’t want many near him, but he really does not mind. Being part of a MC, has Big feeling like he found some sort of family.

Nyah is a hardened woman from things she experienced earlier in life. But on the bright side, she has a better outlook on life and what’s in store for her. Nyah runs a bridal boutique and really wants find the love she knows is out there.

Big and Nyah are first introduced in Silhouette. Their story is filled banter, pain, trust, and love. Big has always shielded his heart from the prospect of love, until Nyah shows him otherwise. She is willing to put it all out on the line for him.

Can Big overcome his past to begin his future? Will Nyah be the person to help him? Does Big open up to her and her to him about their awful pasts?

I can’t rave about this book enough! I highly recommend it! S.E. has another book in the series scheduled to come out. I can’t wait to see what she will provide us with.

Although the second book in this series, and we come across Characters from the first book, Silhouette, it is possible to read this as a stand alone.

I have been looking forward to this book, and i wasn't disappointed.
James Parker (Big) a burly Biker and Member of "The Redeemers MC" although technically now a nomad. He's also man who has endured a past that would break the strongest of people. Yet there is something infinitely charming about him.
Nyah has survived a disasterous marriage, a strong girl with a super family behind her, and happy running her Bridal Gown business. When these two collide, sparks fly. Lets face it, "BIG" is sex on a stick, who wouldn't want to get up close and personal with him ! Neither are looking for a relationship, especially Big, he wants none of the danger that follows him to encroach on this beautiful young womans life. But he didn't forsee Nyah's determination to get her Man !!!!
I loved the relationship with both these characters. Even though nothing is going to be easy for them, their humour and love shone through. The relationships with their families and friends was captivating. Danger all around and this author keeps you guessing and in suspense !!!!!!!!! I couldn't get through the pages fast enough, to know what what going to happen next, Great Read!!!

Wow wow just wow!!!
Ok so we have waiting for Solace for a year following on to Silhouette and wow was it worth the wait!!!!!
This time it's the chance to get Big and Nyah stories... and what a tale they had to tell.
Growing up Big had a troubled background with an abusive father and he found himself being taken in by a local MC troop where he finally felt he found family and trust... not wanting to give too much of the story away cut to years down the line where some decisions made when he was younger come back to haunt him.
Nyah Hunter is the younger princess loving woman that Big wants to avoid as he doesnt want to bring drama to her life.. little does he know that shes not one to just give up what or who she wants easily.
Just like book 1 this story is absolutely jammed packed with pieces of their past... drama.. emotions.. hot alphas amd strong women!!
I honestly think Se Cooper has written yet another smash hit that everyone needs to be reading!!! And with promise of book 3 so we can get the story of Kerr Hunter then ill definitely be sticking round!!!
Absolutely love all characters involved with these stories and could read a book about them all!
Well done again on a fab read!!!
