I have read quite a few of Mr. Brandon’s books. They are smart, captivating and unpredictable. I wonder why he’s not more famous. This one is one of my favorites due to the dark Viet Nam Veteran element. It had a taste of the superhero in it. Elizabeth was also quite a hero herself. Brandon consistently writes strong women even if they are not the main character.

Very Good; woman witnesses a mob killing and a police captain works to keep her hidden and safe while he tracks the killer; at the same time, her son arrives back from Vietnam prison camp and starts to look for her himself.
