A Tale of Agony follows a few contracts in the life of a nameless assassin. She takes a strange payment in the form of golden crests and utilizes both magic and her unique sword, Agony to execute her targets. However, there is one condition that must be met after the contract is fulfilled. The one whom ordered her to take a life must hold the blade that took it.
This book makes me sad...so much potential but it's horrible and it didn't have to be but maybe the writer was in a hurry to publish it on Amazon. A few coins for Grammarly, or an editor/proofreader and some honest critiquing and some rewrites and this could have honestly been a really interesting book.
The final fight scene grabbed my attention and then it fell flat again. It ended suddenly...I kept thinking my Kindle was glitching and finally realized nope...that really was the end.
I never connected with the protagonist. I felt absolutely nothing for her. She was way too powerful throughout and only showed vulnerability when she was finally fighting the wizard
All tell and no show and riddled with typos. Flush out the story. Give us some details. Who is she? Who is V? Why does she do what she does? Too much teasing the readers eventually gets a reader bored and ready to move on. Don't bring it up if you're not going to give answers.
The typos and bad grammar is another killer. 41 pages and I was halfway through the story with 20+ typos. I stopped counting after that. Pay the extra coins for Grammarly or a proofreader. There's a free website....Hemingway Editor http://www.hemingwayapp.com/.
