The Puzzle Master Trilogy concludes with Missing Pieces
Twice, Cephas has travelled through time … but once again, his time is running out…
The Final Holy War rages between Four and the Cult Hunters, and neither side is taking prisoners. As The Corps begins to spread its deadly new bio-toxin around the globe, Zip orders a full-out assault in an attempt to steal enough vaccine to save her followers. The bloodbath only serves to pit the remaining Christians against each other, with even Bethany House divided.
His small flock now scattered, Cephas and Martha race to solve the greatest puzzle of his one in which the missing pieces are scattered throughout his past, present … and future. With hope fading, even Cephas can’t recognize which of the dark days ahead represents the “Moment of Darkness” that Christ foretold he would someday face. As the pieces come together, and the picture becomes clear, Cephas is forced to face his greatest fear alone. In this puzzle, the final piece … is him.
Absolutely Fantastic book and series!!! I wish everyone could read this and discover the love Jesus has for them and what this life is about. I thought the author did a good job of keeping the books clean, and yet showing how Satan wants to corrupt all the good things God has given us. Things like marriage, sex, and the family. In fact, seeing how terribly Satan has corrupted those very things in the real world today, I'd say the author did an excellent job, especially since these were written before the homosexual and transgender revolution happened. I definitely recommend this book and the series.
Okay, I've actually got more to say... A few weeks ago, I was wondering when the third book of the series was going to come, because I've been looking forward to it ever since I finished the second. When I finally saw it available, I grabbed it straight away, but didn't start reading until I knew I'd have a bit more time, because the others have been hard to put down. Well, this was no exception - I devoured it in two days, when I probably should have been doing other things. So beware!
Having loved the first two books, I had high expectations for this one, and I was definitely not disappointed. The book is not a light read, but is definitely hard to put down, very much thought-provoking, and very well written. It draws you in and makes you feel for the characters, as well as pondering what you yourself might do in similar situations - and what Jesus would do, or want done. Overall, a book (and series) that I would highly recommend to all Christians - and one that I think non-Christians could get a lot out of too, if they were willing to read it with an open mind.
Note that, as a trilogy, the individual books really aren't complete in themselves, and should be read in order for the best understanding of what's going on. I think you could get quite a bit out of individual books still, but you won't know who half of the characters are.
Now I think I need to go back again and read the whole series all in order again, without the big gaps between while waiting for the next to be written. I'm pretty sure I'll get even more out of it second time around, and there aren't a lot of books or series I feel like that about. And to the author: what are you writing next? :-)
Fiction yet also nonfiction regarding the atheist world today. Sounds plausible (which makes it scary) but unless Christians stand up to the government atheistic theocracy in our country and the world...Christianity could be banned! I would recommend this book and trilogy to all Christians. Easily in the top 5 Christian book series!!!
This third book in the series is once again very well written and easy to get involved in. My main quibble is the way in which Cephas spends so much of the book avoiding violence – arguing that his attitude was necessary and for the best – only to explode in violence at the end when it seems the only way for him to win. Victory was more important than his principles. The puzzle master seemed to have missed some of the main points of Christianity and presented a deeply contradictory picture – which, for me, detracted greatly from the story. A pity.
Sometime, I might get back to giving a more detailed review.
This has been one of those series that at first all I can say is WOW! In this last book Cephas must try to figure out the last puzzle to try and save the Christians. It wasn't quite what I was expecting but in a very good way. This book was so emotionally charged I actually cried. If we tried to live closer to Jesus every day. Listen to the Holy Spirit and really live the way the Bible says, we could be such an influence and lead people to the Lord. We are so involved in this world that we ignore God way too much. This is a highly recommended series. plus, they're all free downloads.
The series was pretty well done, and well written. In general I don't care for first person pov, because few authors can pull it off, but McKenna does a decent job of it. My only issue is that towards the end, there were a lot more errors, as if the author was so excited to finish he rushed through and forgot too proofread the last few chapters.
Truly conveys Jesus ' message that loving God and others is our calling. Vivid description of the suffering of crucifixion that freed us was appreciated. The love expressed for us by that event is undeniable! Beautiful trilogy.
Once again McKenna captures the true identity of Christianity. This is a gripping take from page one of book one to the last page of book three! Great story telling and unabashed truths are the true pieces of this "puzzle"!
Just finished book 3 & it was the best one of all. If any atheist reads these books, he won't be by the time he finishes reading them! Mr McKenna makes it real! Book 3 is very moving and one can't put it down until you finish it!
