I think I have built an interest in reading ex-military kind of novels and that’s why I chose to give a read on this. I would say this book didn’t disappoint me. This novel was really simple in language and easy paced.

Well the blurb itself will give what the story holds for us but I was really addicted how the story was absorbed all way down to the last page. The story started off really that simple but slowly the thrill was introduced and kept me involved. This is a very short thriller novel to get you glued.

But why there were less action sequences? I felt that the action were too easy and finished off soon or it was skipped. I would have loved if it was there.

Coming to the characters, author has done an handsome job. Ben was totally like a darling to me. He absolutely rocked the show. His act of love , responsibility and his dutiful side everything was fantastically knitted. The mystery was nice and sort of engaging. I was glued with Ben that I forgot to guess ,so the twist was catchy and surprising. But still I was expecting action sequences more (may be I am influenced by Hollywood kind of movies)

Overall Ben O’Reilly is a fast paced thriller but with less action novel which finishes off neatly. I would like to see Ben more in author’s upcoming novels.

A compelling and gripping murder mystery...

Author Adam Peled weaves a compelling and gripping murder mystery, with intriguing twists and turns that will easily captivate the reader’s attention from the beginning. The author paints a suspenseful and riveting tale in a very vivid and convincing way. In addition, the characters are drawn with great credibility and conviction. It’s a quick fast-paced novel that will keep you engaged from the first page to the last.

The story had every element a good story should have. An exciting plot, attention to detail, but best of all fleshed out, well-written and well-rounded character development. There’s an abundance of well-illustrated scenes that make you feel like you are right there in the story, and that’s something I really look for in a good book.

The book description gives a sneak preview; ‘Ben O'Reilly, divorced and in his 40s, is a member of an elite reserve combat unit who has lost his faith in love and relationships. He finds himself added by an unknown individual to a mysterious WhatsApp group. The only group member known to him is Eddie, who once was his best friend but became his enemy. Now, if that’s not enough to whet your appetite, I don’t know what will. But if you want to find out what happens, you’ll just have to turn the pages for yourself! However, I will say it was well worth the read. It’s my first time reading this author and I must say I was very impressed.

Captivating and commendable, this work had me immersed from the beginning. The story flowed from scene to scene with ease, and the author shows exceptional ability when it comes to storytelling. There are plenty of attention-grabbing moments in this page turner that will take the reader on a truly mesmerizing journey!

It’s one of those books that come along occasionally that makes you want to read it non-stop until you get to the end. I’m giving nothing further away here. And this, I hope, will only add to the mystery and enjoyment for the reader.

If this book is anything to go by, I’ll certainly be looking forward to reading more from Adam Peled in the future. I would recommend this book and would love to see it adapted for the Silver Screen. I honestly think it would make a fantastic movie. A well-deserved five stars.

Adam Peled’s “Ben O’Reilly,” what a ride. This suspenseful mystery was very unexpected. Literally, I was not ready for it and I could not put it down. Ben, a highly decorated soldier, with immense experience in special ops gets a mysterious invite to a WhatsApp group and people start dying. Peled takes you on an adventure to solve multiple mysteries that are intertwined.

This book felt real as if these events could are probably have already happened. Reading Peled’s profile you see his counter-terror school influence throughout the chapters. What made this a great read for me is the action and mystery combined. With each introduction of new characters, who by the way were quickly explained and also held a little personal comedy in the explanation, I was able to feel as though Ben were speaking directly to me. A+ on the character development Peled.

The chapters are short and each chapter builds on the mystery. I greatly appreciated this, while I did not wish to put the book down, having short chapters gave me great stopping points to actually get work done in my regular life. I also appreciated the slightly quirky love story. It added to the story without taking away from the main plot.

This truly was a great read and I hope you continue to write more in this genre.

I read 42% of this book before I DNF’d it. Even though the concept of the book was good the execution was poor. It jumped around to situations and wasn’t a smooth transition at all which led me to be confused. (Which doesn’t take much LOL) I was sent this for review and definitely disappointed

I ended up finishing this book and it was just a hot mess. I can’t even begin to tell you what even happened.

Ben O'Reilly by Peled. WhatsApp messages abound and Ben is added to the discussion group without his permission. Then members of the group disappear from the list. Full of action. Peled uses his counter-terrorist experience to good story telling.

Ben O'Reilly by Adam Peled - A Story With Multiple Layers of Suspense #BookReview

I call Ben O'Reilly by Adam Peled a modern age story. The story has everything you can ask for in a murder mystery thriller. There is suspense, murder after murder, bomb blast, divorce, conspiracy, an attempt on life, backstabbing, gang-war, and what not. Every page you will find something pacing too fast and moving you towards something different. In fact, every sequence in the story makes you sense there is something that is yet to disclose. You feel as if there is something that is about to happen that you can't imagine. You try to make a guess but you fail when you face the reality. That is the beauty of this gripping story. Ben is living a real bachelors life in his 40s. But then he knows that he is back to his bachelors days back after an unsuccessful marriage with Pam and a divorce thereafter.

Pam and Ben had two kids before their divorce. But Danny and Lily are with their mother. The Couch, the first chapter of Ben O'Reilly by Adam Peled might mislead you to believe it as a porn book. But that is not the case. That is just to create the atmosphere and indicate what life Ben is living after his divorce. He brings a girl home to enjoy for a while and then she leaves. But she doesn't forget to save his mobile number in her handset before leaving. The story takes a new turn in the second chapter Ben gets a WhatsApp message right in the middle of the night when he is asleep. The beep breaks his sleep and he notices a message on his phone screen that he is now a member of a new discussion group. The message has come from a strange unknown number.

Ben has an army background. After the divorce, he loses faith in love and relationship. The story of Ben O'Reilly by Adam Peled takes some strange turns. Ben finds only one familiar number in the new group. That is his old best friend but now enemy Eddie. And then Sharon comes into his life whom he starts admiring. But meanwhile, something strange starts happening. The members of that particular WhatsApp group start vanishing one by one. There are a lot more actions in store in the story. The interesting point is how Ben plans to cope up with the threat to his own life. Does he decide to mitigate the risk to his life by fighting against the culprits?

Social media is a dangerous place. At least it makes a good thriller.

Whatsapp has taken over Facebook. Mark Zukerberg was so terrified of it that he bought Whatsapp at exorbitant price.

Whatsapp group are funny things. Anybody can add you if they have you number. Ben O’ Reilley our protagonist (the book is named after him) is added to a mysterious Whatsapp group. Only known member is Eddie. Then she meets sexy and beautiful Sharon. Members of group starts getting murdered one by one. It is up to Ben to solve the mystery and save him and Sharon.

The book is fast paced and has short chapters (like James Patterson’s novels). This keeps the proceedings quick and moving. Language is simple and the suspense is nice. You keep guessing the next move of Ben and his opponents. 3/5 stars.

**Free copy in exchange of a honest review

Ben O'reilly by Adam Peled is a fast paced thriller that has casual sex and swear words thrown in which is definitely not the kind of book I read. But the mystery was interesting, the plot twists ample and quick, an easy read, and thankfully unpredictable storyline. Definitely deserves 4 stars for keeping up the pace till the end of the book. Whatsapp groups are indeed fast becoming stranglers, and Adam Peled has put this technology to create a realistic appeal to the story.

All in all a worthy read and a very promising suspense thriller containing bomb blasts, disappearing members of a mysterious group, attempts on life of the protagonist and what not.

The concept of this story intrigued me. Being randomly added to a WhatsApp group whose members start disappearing.
By the time I was a quarter of the way through, I really couldn’t see where it was heading. The story jumped around without clear direction. Part of me wanted to stop reading as, although an avid reader of difficult plots, I felt lost.
I did like Ben. His character was well fleshed out. It was because of the development of Ben that I persevered through the book.
The story had too many side stories that went needed and the author used a lot of oddly worded comparisons when trying to make a point. It is because of the development of Ben that I gave this 3 stars. I received a complimentary copy via Voracious Readers for my unbiased review.

I received this ARC for an honest review. I really struggled in finishing this book and almost decided not to finish it, but I did. I found the book quite confusing. There was a lack of coherent structure and the flow of the events was chaotic. It was like jumping from event to event and missing a big piece in between the jumps. How did I get here and who are we talking about now. I could make no connections with the characters, and although there were some moments, overall I was in a state of confusion.

This is one of the most confusingly written stories I've read in a long while. The story itself was quite interesting, but only if you could follow it. The character development was lacking, but after awhile the main character kind of grows on you. Good suspense, when you were aware of it. And good action, when it came through the cloud of confusion. Editing wasn't the cleanest, but in all the confusion it didn't really have an effect on the story.
