The Devas of Creation depict the energies of the cosmos, both invisible and material. This ground-breaking new Oracle deck shows us ways in which we can work with the Devas, the "Shining beings" described by Sanskrit mystics 6000 years ago. Conceived and painted by Cilla Conway, creator of The Intuitive Tarot, these remarkable cards offer gateways through which you can roam, to share in the wonder of these multi-dimensional beings, the blueprints of creation. Glimpse the unimaginable power of the Source, as it creates the universe and the holographic beings that inhabit it. Encounter the angelic powers as you have never experienced them before. Learn how to communicate with the Devas, find answers in their resonances and profound interpretations and--by aligning yourself with their high level frequencies--begin to manifest the life you were put on earth to live.
The Devas of Creation is an exquisitely crafted deck that focuses on primordial energy work and theory. Devas are a Sanskrit theory but I think that the concept can be applied to a variety of beliefs (I work with the primordial Greek Gods, so I find a lot of the themes overlap).
The artwork in this deck invites you to really study each card since the majority of it is very abstract-based. I've had my deck for around a year and a half and I still see something new in each card and that's a big part as to why I love it so much. Personally, I really enjoy working with abstract decks, especially when it comes to examining energies. This deck features some of my favourite art work ever and I find it a real pleasure to work with. You can use it to do a daily/weekly draw or even combine it with a tarot reading to get a sense of surrounding energies; it truly offers a lot of versatility.
The accompanying guidebook is also really well done. There are colour pictures of each card (something that is very rare in a guidebook) and it's actually full-sized rather than just a flimsy LWB. Cilla Conway does a brilliant job of eruditely explaining the Devas and even provides some worthwhile meditative techniques. There are also unique spreads included which is something I really love to see.
In terms of physical design, the cards are around the same height of a standard tarot deck but they are significantly wider. I don't find them particularly difficult to shuffle, though.
The only thing that holds me back from giving this deck the five stars it deserves is the cardstock. The backs are a grainy matte that chip extremely easily. When I first opened the box and did my first shuffle, I chipped a card and had to fill in the chip with black nail polish. Over time, all of the cards have chipped at the sides and bottoms--it doesn't matter how gentle you are, it will happen. Lovely artwork deserves lovely cardstock!
