Rate this book
CHAPTER ONE BOOK SAMPLER is an English language, independently-created, Kindle ebook that features the very first chapter (& first short story of short story collections) of fiction books / ebooks that have been published by individuals & publishing houses.

As you might know, that very first chapter / story is an advertisement for the whole book / ebook. The publisher pays us to be included. N.B. this is not self-publishing or vanity publishing or any type of publishing, really. It is a paid business advertisement to encourage customers to buy the book / ebook to benefit the publisher. We hope you enjoy reading the chapters and encourage you to purchase the complete books / ebooks.

Chapter One Book Sampler is assembled by former Skive Magazine's Matthew Ward (who in 10 years published over 800 writers). See our website for submission / contribution details.

Chapter One Book Sampler is an ingenious idea to showcase emerging and established writers’ work. It is compiled of either the first chapter of a published/self published novel or the first story in a collection of short stories.
As the editor Matthew Ward, the compiler explains:
“As you might know, that very first chapter / story is an advertisement for the whole book / ebook. The publisher pays us to be included. N.B. this is not self-publishing or vanity publishing or any type of publishing, really. It is a paid business advertisement to encourage customers to buy the book / ebook to benefit the publisher. We hope you enjoy reading the chapters and encourage you to purchase the complete books / ebooks.”
The chapters and one story are:
Kidnapped in Overtime by Ricky Ginsburg - a fast paced police drama set in Boston.
The Cary Grant Sanatorium and Playhouse by Will Tinkham - a screwball involving a disgraced Hollywood starlet.
Death at the Drive-in by Mary Vettel - divorced baby boomer trying to keep her head above water when she loses her murder mystery dinner theatre.
Thursday’s Child by Linda Visman - a 14 year old girl’s traumatic experience and struggle in the Australian bush of 1961.
Ralph’s World by Sue Pace - is the first story from the collection Driving Sharon Crazy.
Stuck for what to read next? Read all these samples for only $1.00 on Kindle.
