Disease and cold rage across the world as Reese continues maneuvering chess pieces from the shadows, all while the survivors struggle against the increasingly disastrous conditions.
The Long Fall is a thrilling post-apocalyptic episodic series that follows the survivors of a global catastrophe that threatens the survival of the entire world. As each survivor learns more about the reasons and sources behind the apocalypse, they must work to save themselves and their families as they seek a way to reverse the disaster before it's too late. Written as a collaboration between Logan Keys and #1 bestselling post-apocalyptic author Mike Kraus, The Long Fall is a gripping and unique take on the post-apocalyptic genre, and one that will leave you breathless with every turn of the page.
The Long Fall will feature approximately ten episodic (25k-35k words in length) books that are full of action, suspense, emotion and drama as the survivors of a global disaster struggle to survive the end of days. Episodes will be published once per month.
Logan Keys says she’s not so much a writer as she is a soothsayer and preparer for those who are still blissfully unaware. Her stories aren’t dystopian but rather a warning for the next generation. When she’s not writing zombies, vampires, superheroes, and robots, she’s fighting against government over-reach and oligarchy using military tactics mixed with a little bit of poetry.
Logan’s currently on her little farm in Kentucky typing away on many projects at once.

I actually liked this a little better than the previous book. With less Reese, a lot of the other characters and story had a chance to take hold. Quite the cliffhanger at the end too.
"The killing cold." Author Mike Kraus is exceedingly inventive in creating apocalyptic scenarios and peop!ing them with the added dangers for and from realistic chzrzcters. This serial, The Long Fall, written with Logan Keys, is no exception Earthquade and encroaching cold make for a book to make one shiver. Quick and easy to read, this installment follows Luck man and Reese first seen stuck on board the Ocean Giant, stalled by ice off the coast of New Zealand as well as the small groups in the U.S.A. It is exciting imaginative - and too short. Do not attempt to read Darkest Storm as a stand alone. It is the third part of a zerial: go to the beginning.
3.5 stars. Darkest Storm is the third book in the Darkness Rising series. This can be read as a standalone but should not be. These are stories that build on each other and should be read in order written. There is a lot of violence, it is an apocalyptic thriller, so it might not be suitable for more sensitive readers.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat all of that info here. This is an apocalyptic thriller filled with people trying to survive in a world where things have gone crazy. This story includes a lot of twists and turns. As usual, everything is not as it seems. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
The third book in the series is again done in manner where there's three main characters and the chapters rotate around those three. Luckman manages to leave Antarctica and go to New Zealand but it's very difficult as the ice build-up gives ships a hard time. In New York Michelle and Bob are trying to survive as the power goes out. Reese's thugs attack them. Reese plays a more major role in this volume. Brittany, in Chicago, still plans to take the kids to their mother in New York but something goes very wrong for her.
Meanwhile we learn the extent of the destruction in the central U.S. The overall situation for survivors through the country has gotten a lot worse.
The two authors do a great job of keeping characters straight. I hope Luck Man wasn't killed off. Each set of characters in the story has their own set of survival problems compounded by the cold. I also wish there were more chapters to each book making it more enjoyable to read and not so frustrating. Tiffany and her group are still alive. Michelle and Bob and their group are alive for now. Cameron is holding on barely. Reese is losing what sanity she had left. The fourth in the series should prove interesting.
Loving this series, they author work so well together; this book is not a standalone but is book 3 in the Long fall series. It starts where book 2 left us really starting to like the characters, I feel for Britney she is still trying to protect the kids and get them to their mother the other groups are alive too. But things are getting worse and worse. It flows great I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
This, book 3 in the series The Long Fall, is well-written with many of the characters having become like old friends. There are several subplots that are reaching critical moments and since I’ve been up all night reading I’ve decided to begin book 4. I kept telling myself ‘just one more chapter’ lol. But, I am compelled to read more. I highly recommend the series and each book definitely needs to be read in the order written. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
If you start this series with the intention of stopping after the first book you willl be greatly disappointed with yourself. With all of the different threads tht weave together in this book you are bound to get hooked on different ones and even develop a favorite that will 'push your buttons' when intrupted to take up aother thread!
The world is falling apart...but Reese still think everyone must bow down to her. So many people perished, hoping a solution will be found before is too late.
Story is moving at a fast pace. Happy that I have already download the next book. Interesting topic. Moral of the story, don't mess with mother nature!
Another enjoyable instalment of the series (I have the box set). It carries on from the last where the numerous characters battle against the disastrous elements caused by corporate greed.
Well-written and fast-paced; a good story showing human behaviour at its best and worst.
This is the third book in the series The Long Fall. Action continues to mount. We see some of the scientists escape from Antarctica and more trouble on the US mainland. Very suspenseful, with some of the plots converging. An enjoyable read. I look forward to reading Book #4. Worth a read.
