Big business might be ruthless, but Lucie Rizzo learned to take the heat from the best: her mob boss father. Except instead of cooking the books, she’s mixing up her next moneymaking expansion. But her BFF-turned-partner isn’t sold on the idea. Ro is the creative genius—not to mention the boobs—of their operation, but Lucie has the discerning business palate. And this venture smells like sweet success. All they need is the right investor.
French chef Antoine Durand made casseroles sexy again. His closely guarded secret recipe built a billion-dollar empire. He’s got the cred and the cash to turn Lucie’s dream into a reality. She gives him a taste of her proposal and Antoine’s about to bite, when a fire breaks out in his restaurant. And in the chaos, his priceless recipe is stolen.
The number one suspect? Lucie. Because a girl can’t shake her criminal connections in this town. She might be a mob princess, but she’s no thief. And she’s certainly no blackmailer. Someone has beef with the chef. The Rizzo crew needs to find out who, before Antoine puts Coco Barknell out of business…and Lucie behind bars.

Another fun mystery with Lucie and the gang! This time we get to see O’Hottie get involved in the screwball investigations too. Dog Collar Cuisine by Adrienne Giordano is the 5th book in the series and they just keep getting better. I will admit sometimes I get frustrated with Lucie and her decisions but they always end up entertaining me and I am usually laughing or smiling as the story unfolds. Everything always works out in the end. In Dog Collar Cuisine I started to understand Lucie a little more.
Lucie is accused of stealing and blackmailing one of her clients. Of course she is not going to just wait around and let the police figure out who stole the recipe from Antoine, the famous chef. She is going to find out on her own to clear her own name. This time she pulls in her family, friends, and detective boyfriend, Tim. It is a hoot!
Giordano does a fantastic job with this series. Each story is hilariously original and will have you literally laughing out loud. She sprinkles in some heartfelt family moments along with fun romance. The characters in this series are unique, quirky and downright lovable.
If you are looking for an entertaining, witty, mystery, give Dog Collar Cuisine a read! While it is part of a series, each book has its own plot/mystery and is solved in one book.
Book 5 of the often zany antics by the mob princess with a dog walking business, family, friends and the cop boyfriend. Mystery series with a bit of humor and bumbling investigations that somehow always seem to pay off.
This book has a few sections told from the view of Tim but always written in third person. It's nice to understand his view of situations but prefer Lucile's convoluted thinking. I love Joey. He has a big protective streak but also a big heart.
Excerpt: “Lucie’s phone rang. She glanced down to see O’Hottie lighting up the screen. He complained about the nickname, but down deep, he had to like it. Lucie sure did. “Hiya, handsome.” “My girl. What are you doing?” Tricky business here. Tim didn’t like her involved in what he termed screwball investigations. Sympathetic to the plight of her cop boyfriend, she chose not to put him in awkward positions by filling him in on every detail. Right now, this firefighter thing hadn’t quite materialized into anything and, in Lucie’s mind, wasn’t worth irritating her beloved. Yes, she’d protect him from this. What a crock. Protect herself from a lecture was more like it. She flicked a gaze at her laptop screen. “I’m working on a spreadsheet.” So she’d left out a few minor details.” Excerpt From: Giordano, Adrienne. “Dog Collar Cuisine.” iBooks.
Lucie Rizzo is known as the Mafia princess as she is the daughter of an Italian mob boss. Coco Barknel is the company created by Lucie. She is thinking of expanding with a dog food line. Lucie decides to consult with a famous chef whose dog she walks. While she is at the chef's office a fire breaks out. Lucie manages to save his dog but then finds herself accused of stealing the chef's famous recipe written on a blue card. This calls for action to clear Lucie’s name. Her faithful crew which consists of Roseanne ( Lucie’s best friend), Joey (Lucie’s brother and current boyfriend of Roseanne), Irish Detective Tim O’Brien and her father, Italian mob boss, Joe Rizzo plus his friends even Lucie's mother gets in on the action. What a combination of characters to help prove Lucile's innocence!!! Feisty, vivid, colorful and well created cast of characters get involved in well plotted mystery. The story is mixed with danger, intrigue, suspense, some romance with lots of humor. This is book # 5 in the Lucie Rizzo Mystery series. It can be read as a stand alone. It is a page turner that is a fresh and unique cozy. You will enjoy the dogs and the trash mouth parrot involved with Lucie's dog walking business. I volunteered to read this Advanced Reader's Copy. Thanks to the author for the opportunity. My opinion is my own.
Dog Collar Cuisine by Adrienne Giordano A Lucie Rizzo Mystery #5
Lucie finds herself unwittingly and unwillingly in trouble again. While helping out a customer she becomes the target of someone maliciously accusing her of thievery and she knows she is not guilty SO in Lucie’s inimitable style she starts sleuthing for the real thief. This leads her to questionable behavior – at least in her boyfriend’s mind. Why questionable? Well, because Detective Tim “O’Hottie” O’Brien is an upholder and not a breaker of the law and sometimes Lucie bends and even slips across that line he upholds in his job.
There are escapades and situations and suspects and dogs and romance along with family and caring and romance and sharing. This is a great addition to the series with Tim and Lucie growing closer together as a couple while figuring out how to be just Tim and Lucie without the influence of his job and her familial ties impinging on their relationship.
Thank you to the author for the ARC – this is my honest review.
I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, suspense, and heartbreak.
If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first: Dog Collar Crime (Lucie Rizzo Mystery, #1) Dog Collar Knockoff (Lucie Rizzo Mystery, #2) Dog Collar Couture (Lucie Rizzo Mystery #3) Dog Collar Chaos (Lucie Rizzo Mystery #4)
This is more of Lucie's story. Lucie is trying to grow her business but she is still having trouble. When she lands a dog-walking gig for a high-profile person she thinks it could be the start of something good. That is until someone steals a very secret recipe and they think it was Lucie. When she realizes they will not believe her she knows she must solve the case herself. Can she solve the case before she gets in even more hot water? Or is Lucie all about the trouble? Is anyone going to be able to keep Lucie out of trouble?
I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Another fun ride with the Rizzo gang and the long suffering Det. O’Hottie aka Tim. Even mother Rizzo got in on the action this time. In the midst of negotiating a business deal with a billionaire chef dog walking client, a fire breaks out in the kitchen and a valuable recipe goes missing. Of course Lucie is suspect #1. Between trying to clear her name and ward off a lawsuit, Lucie has to negotiate her relationship with Tim. This was a fun, humorous, quirky, quick read. At times Lucie can be irritating with her thought process and decision making, but there’s no question the family loyalty that exists and the growing relationship between her and Tim.
First off I just love the cute and adorable cover of the book.
I love the Lucie Rizzo and her crazy family stories. Never a dull moment. The characters are amazing and work so well together. They just draw you into the story with them. The story is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing and laughing. I always hate to see the stories end. Hoping there will be more Lucie Rizzo stories.
I received a copy of the book for my honest opinion which I have done.
I felt the latest installment of the Adrienne Giordano Dog Collar series was not as entertaining as her previous ones. This one, Dog Collar Cuisine, finds Lucie Rizzo embroiled in a heist involving a client of hers who happens to be a world-famous chef in possession of a top secret recipes…think the recipe for KFC original recipe chicken, or maybe the original formula for Coca-Cola. When the recipe disappears from the chef’s restaurant office, Lucie falls under suspicion as the thief. An outraged Lucie goes on the offensive to discover the identity of the real thief, bringing her brother Joey and her BFF Ro along for the ride. I really liked the plot idea – we all know of the lengths some people will go through to protect certain intellectual secrets, but I felt the situations Lucie and Ro find themselves in really stretched the imagination. It made me think of old I Love Lucy episodes where Lucy and Ethel get themselves into the most ridiculous situations imaginable. I can’t understand why they would continue to get themselves into situations they knew would create problems with Lucie’s boyfriend, Tim, the sexy Irish detective. Time and again Tim tries to save them from themselves but to no avail. It also seemed the romance between Tim and Lucie stalled a bit on this book. Even when they tried to get together romantically, Lucie’s exploits were enough to derail any plans the two could make. Overall, the book was ok – not my favorite in this series because I felt the situations were contrived and the humor forced, like slapstick humor instead of the more clever things we’ve seen in other books. Still, I am looking forward to the next in the series to see what mischief Lucie can get into next.
Adrienne Giordano continues to entertain with this series! Lucie Rizzo and her Chicago Police Detective boyfriend Tim,along with the rest of Lucie's wacko team of characters, are once again drawn into another of her "investigations". How can anything go wrong when your Dad is a mob boss on parole along with his own crew of characters, her newly Independent Mother, Joey her brother with anger management issues, and her BFF Ro whose "walking shoes" are just slightly lower stiletto heels? All trying to find out who is behind setting Lucie up as the thief of a multi-million dollar recipe of Chef Antoine Durand. Add the addition of the dogs Lucie's company, Coco Barknell, walks and nothing ever seems to go as planned with hilarious results!
I like Lucie. She presents herself to the world as a strong woman. Inside, though, she has all the insecurity and flaws as any person. But her Dad taught her to fight for what is right even though their paths to those goals are definitely different. And Lucie takes her reputation very seriously! She has been trying to prove to the world that she is Not the Mob Princess she feels everyone sees. Being called a thief and then being sued will not be tolerated. Tim has learned that helping with a Lucie investigation is easier than being blindsided by them. Her determination is one of the things about her he loves best.
The whole series is very entertaining and is best read in order for maximum understanding and enjoyment. The characters are well developed and continue to evolve as do real people. The "who done it" is well hidden until the end of each book. Some of Lucie and Tim's loving, also Ro and Joey's relationship antics would probable best be rated as PG-13.
The characters in Cooked are the stars of the book, as they should be; they are warm and often hilarious. I love that Adrienne Giordano allows these awesome people to grow and changes in both romantic and personal relationships, just one more element that make the series special. The plot is unique and fun as well as complex. I discovered Ms. Giordano through her outstanding romantic suspense novels, and she has carried her delft handling of mysteries into the lighter cozy series while remaining true to the genre. Lucie is accused of theft! Those familiar with the series can image how she, her family and friends react to that! After years of battling the mafia princess image, no way are they going to let anyone challenge her integrity. The problems is that she is the most reasonable, apparently the only reasonable, suspect. On top of her personal horror at the idea of being accused of something that she would never do, she faces other issues that could destroy her. She fears that the impact that the accusations alone could have on her police detective boyfriend could be the last straw for him! Chef Durand whose recipe was stolen can literally wipe out her business with only a few words if he decides to go public. If he decides to sue her she would have no way to pay without turning to her father for help, a total nightmare for her. I read this book under the original title, Dog Collar Cuisine

In her usual funny and quirky style, Adrienne Giordano brings us the next book in the Lucie Rizzo Mystery series. It's fun, it's sweet and it's an all around good time! If you love a little romance, a lot of mystery and a quirky cast of characters that will keep you smiling, this is the series for you!
Lucie Rizzo just doesn't seem to be able to stay out of trouble. If you've read this series, you know the antics she and her pals and family have been up to in the past, and the fun continues with this book. Lucie is going strong with her relationship with Detective O'Hottie as her BFF Ro christened him. Chicago Detective Tim O'Brien doesn't like the trouble Lucie seems to draw, but he still cant' resist her or stay mad for long!
Lucie is excited to have a dog walking job with one of Chicago's renowned chefs, but as usual trouble follows her home! When his prized, top-secret casserole recipe disappears just after Lucie was in his office, heads are going to roll! Lucie hates that her family's mob reputation taints her no matter how much she tries to show that she's above it, so when she hears she's being accused of stealing, she's fit to be tied! As her loyal gang of family, friends and good-hearted mobsters rally around her, she sets out to find out who the true culprit is!
There's two things I can count on when reading a Lucie Rizzo Dog Collar series book...laughs and pure entertainment. Ms Giordano has upped her game with this latest story. All the usual players are present, with banter, lightning fast and witty dialogue, and the energetic hilarity that only Lucie delivers.
From the onset, the stage is set with Lucie embroiled in drama, with hilarious results. Lucie's efforts to come emerge from under the shadow of her paroled mobbed up father (which includes all his cronies) are normally met with questionable and often frustrating results...being Joe Rizzo's kid is no easy task for her (unless it serves its purpose...which it finally does here). With Tim on board to continuously rein her in...which is a fruitless effort on most days, disastrous the remaining ones...action and the resulting merriment abounds. The author has the unique ability to draw the reader into the midst of the action, constantly keeping the momentum moving at lightening fast speed. Sadly the story is over much too quickly...I love living in Lucie's whacky world.
As long as Ms Giordano keeps the Lucie Rizzo series going, I'll always be first in line to read it.

This is a great book; this book is the fifth book in the Lucie Rizzo Mystery series written by Adrienne Giordano. When Lucie lands a dog-walking gig for one of Chicago's media-obsessed top chefs, she knows his high-profile status might shine the limelight on her business as well. At least until the chef's secret and equally famous casserole recipe winds up in the wrong hands and Lucie is accused of swiping it. With her ties to the mob casting a shadow over her reputation, Lucie assembles her whacky crew of amateur sleuths and her sexy detective boyfriend to go on a hunt for the real thief. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night and you will not want to put this book down until you finish. This was such a great read and full of surprises. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.
Lucie Rizzo and her crazy family are at it again! I love theses stories. Lucie is talking to Antonio, his attorney Molly and and her assistant Annalise. Antonio has a secret recipe for his restaurant that has made him millions and he keeps it in the safe. The safe is sitting open while they are taking. Molly and Annalise leave the office. While Lucie and Antonio are talking there is a fire in the kitchen. Antonio leaves to check on the fire while Lucie gets his dog to save them. The next day the recipe is missing and Antonio gets a blackmail letter regarding the recipe. He automatically assumes Lucie is the one who stole the recipe. Now Lucie has to prove she is innocent. The fun begins!
I love Lucie and her cop boyfriend Tim's relationship. Tim puts up with so much from her family. I just love Tim. This is another funny story that is so enjoyable to read. I encourage you to read this book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.
Lucie is a strong and resourceful. She needs to be. After all her father is Joe Rizzo, a mob boss. Determined to be her own woman, she started Coco Barknell. Her dog-walking and accessory business is a success inspite of Lucie. She's a magnet for trouble. Her boyfriend, Tim O'Brien, is a Chicago police detective and he loves Lucie, but can he keep this feisty woman safe? I enjoyed Dog Collar Cuisine. The non-stop action pulled me in. I loved catching up with the Rizzos and with Ro, Lucie's BFF. They are a wild bunch. Lucie's doggie clients add their distinctive style to the story. While the Chicago winter is the perfect backdrop for the romance between Tim and Lucie. Who wouldn't fall for him. He's there for Lucie. Adrienne Giordano entertained me with Lucie's latest adventure. I can't wait to see what happens next.
This series just gets funnier and wackier with each new story (but whacky in a good way). Once again our crazy cast of characters is out to solve another mystery and of course it’s lined with all kinds of loony and not quite legal investigations.
In this installment of Dog Collar adventures, Lucie is accused of stealing a world famous secret recipe. Of course we all know she didn’t do it but Boy oh Boy the evidence sure all points to her. So who stole it and why? And why are they trying to pin it on Lucie?
Ms. Giordano has written a hilarious storyline that will having you laughing at the gang's antics and their zany escapades. 2 Thumbs Up for a great addition to the series; one that this reader highly recommends 1-clicking. Your funny bone will be glad you did.

The whole gang once again comes together to help solve and prove Lucie's innocence when she is accused of stealing a secret recipe worth billions. In their attempts to help Lucie things become hilariously disastrous and keep you on your toes guessing what wacky things might happen next. How many buttons will Ro pop to cause a distraction? Will Joey keep his hot headness under wraps or strong arm his way? Will Joe Rizzo scare the living daylight out of the accuser our will he submit to doing things the way Lucie wants? All of this plus Otis, the ninja bitches and Lucie herself makes a story you won't want to put down.
LOVED this book! Each book in the series is better than the prior book. I love Luci and her crazy antics as she tries to save her reputation and protect her family and BBF Ro. Even better, is Detective O'Hottie.......I love that nickname for him. Seriously, it's fun to read about Tim and Luci's relationship. He's a very rigid thinking police detective in love with the mob princess.....truly, so very funny.
This is a wonderful series and, if you haven't discovered it yet, you are really missing out. This is a stand alone novel, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

Cooked (formerly Dog Collar Cuisine) is another hilarious Lucie Rizzo mystery! When Lucie gets accused of stealing a secret recipe, she sets out to prove that she is innocent. Unable to convince Lucie to stop sleuthing, Detective Tim O'Brien, Lucie's boyfriend, decides to join her screwball investigation. When Tim teams up with Lucie and her crazy crew it is a recipe for disaster. I love all of the characters in this series! They never fail to make me laugh. I hope there are many more Lucie Rizzo mysteries. I always look forward to their next adventure.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy.
Here we go again with Lucie and her crazy family. While going to discuss a business matter with famed Chef Antoine, a fire breaks out in his building. After everything is taken care of, the only hard copy of his famous recipe is missing, and Lucie is accused of being the thief. Of course she’s innocent and is determined to clear herself and find the real culprit. In this book, her entire family is more involved than usual which makes for chaos and hilarity. I thoroughly enjoyed this latest addition to the series!
This is another winner in the Lucie Rizzo Mystery series with a well-crafted plot that kept me glued to the book from beginning to end and enjoying every minute. I love Lucie, her wacky family and friends and especially her boyfriend, Chicago Detective Tim "O'Hottie" O'Brien as they work to clear Lucie when she is accused of stealing a casserole recipe worth millions. I was so involved, I didn't want the book to end. I look forward to more mayhem from Lucie and Coco Barknell. I reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
Ms Giordano takes us on another exciting mystery in Dog Collar Cuisine. The life of Lucie Rizzo is never boring, with lots of drama in the Rizzo family, between her best friend Ro and her brother Joey, and her never ending attraction to danger. This time, she is being accused of theft and she goes all out to clear her name. From this story, it is extremely apparent that her boyfriend Tim really loves her. Why else would he put up with all the drama in her life. This book will keep you thoroughly hooked as there are lots of mayhem and and chaos as Lucie tries to clear her name.
This is such a fun series and I highly recommend it. Each book has you laughing out loud at the antics of the characters. She manages to get in the middle of so many interesting adventures. You always know she will get the one that is trying to put the blame on her. This one is a great addition to the series and you can jump in or read them from the beginning.
Lucie Rizza, ex-mobster daughter, owns a dog boutique called Coco Barknell. She is accused of stealing from a client, who happens to be a chef. Someone stole his hard copy of a famous casserole, handwritten on a blue card. Mob boss Dad, police detective Tim whom she loves, and the rest of the Rizzo crew show up to clear Lucie's name, much to her chagrin!
I just love Lucie and the gang. They are so much fun. They are all back and trying to clear Lucie's name when she is accused of stealing a recipe from one of her clients. Lucie spends so much time trying not to involve her boyfriend, but he still gets involved along with her crazy family and friends. So much fun. Love this series.
Any book in the Lucie Rizzo mystery series is always an enjoyable and entertaining read. The characters have great chemistry as they work together to solve the mystery. The story line is full of twists and turns but all is well in the end. Also love all the dogs! Great read.
