In this thirteenth charming book of The Adventures of Sophie Mouse series, Sophie hosts the very first Silverlake Art Show!
Sophie has a brilliant idea: she’s going to host the very first Silverlake Art Show! After all, she loves to draw and paint and she likes looking at art too. With the help of Hattie Frog and Owen Snake, Sophie puts together the whole event. And when the big night comes, she expects to be the star of the show. But she gets a surprise when she realizes…she’s not! Who is this mystery artist that everyone is chirping and buzzing about?
With easy-to-read language and illustrations on almost every page, the Adventures of Sophie Mouse chapter books are perfect for beginning readers.
Poppy Green can talk to animals! Unfortunately, they never talk back to her. So she started writing in order to imagine what they might say and do when humans aren’t watching. Poppy lives on the edge of the woods in Connecticut, where her backyard is often a playground for all kinds of wildlife: birds, rabbits, squirrels, voles, skunks, deer, and the occasional wild turkey.
We all (my 7 year old son and daughter and me) LOVE Sophie Mouse. The stories are a good length for early chapter books, the plots are interesting enough and the writing smooth enough that I enjoy reading them aloud. The illustrations are adorable. Some otherwise great kids' books are drudgery to read aloud but these read well for all of us.
A sweet return to the adventures of Sophie Mouse! It's been awhile since my daughter has wanted to read one of these- we both enjoyed this one. I appreciated the exploration of jealousy, creativity and community!
Read aloud to the younger kids. It had been a few weeks since we had a Sophie Mouse book to read, and it was so fun to be back in this sweet little world. I love how Sophie has real feelings, specifically jealousy in this one. She has wise people in her life who help her to work through her feelings and encourage her to do the right thing.
I just love this series. So sweet and charming! The kids are supposed to come up with a community service project so Sophie organizes an art show. She realizes the reason why is because she was seeking praise for her artwork so she starts to feel jealous when someone else gets more attention. However, she realizes thats not necessary and everyone has different gifts.
"I liked it because I am making an art show! Write down this noise (*shakes tambourine). I really liked when she put up a sign that said 'write your name, draw a picture and come to the show'. She got a lot of people to sign up but I havent gotten anyone. I said next Friday but we're going on a family vacation sadly :("
Super cute! Sophie Mouse is excited for the Silverlake Art Show. But soon discovers what happens when her art work is not in the spotlight. A cute storyline with black and white illustrations. This is the second book I have read in the series and it continues to be enjoyable! 💕🐭
I liked these books because I love all animals, and mysteries. (P.S. especially talking animals.) I love reading this book with my grandma every morning. 🐭🐸🐍📚
My 6 year old daughter loves Sophie Mouse and so do I! The books always have a good message. I really liked the story in this one. I love that every page has a picture.
Miss Wise, Sophie's teacher, makes them do a community service project. Sophie is doing an art show - she thinks she is the star of the town, but is she really?
