In the shadowed streets of Toronto, there exists a garrison of soldiers like no other—nine immortal warriors, half-Archangel/half-human, living unknown amongst the city, defending humanity from the Daemons of the Hell realm. - This is Kyrian's story
This one was even better than the first one. The story grows, the characters are more fleshed out and we begin to learn more of this world. I love this author, she has no problem with maiming and killing off characters. There's good fighting scenes and as the story goes on, you see that not everything is as you may have thought, there's bad in the good and good in some of the bad. I'm not very good at reviews but I just want to say that I'm beginning to feel like I'm part of this crazy and big family. This is reminiscent of the early BDB stories, the writing is. There is some really cool mythology and as more characters are added, they bring their own stories and skills. I wasn't sure how she was going to blend the 2 characters from very different worlds, but it was done well. Kryian and Cassia were great characters. Now, off to read the next one.
Outstanding job Ms Madore. The storytelling is absolutely fantastic. Loved the characters. Kept me hooked until the last page. Can't wait to read Danel's story. Continue blessings and success my friend.
Although it is obvious the author is influenced by the Black Dagger Brotherhood series this second book seems to be finding its own rhythm, it’s own unique storyline. I enjoyed the series so far very much and will definitely continue to follow it.
I loved this one! I think I liked it a bit more then the first. I loved the relationship he found and I think the opposite natures made it that much more interesting. The war brewing kept it exciting and suspenseful. Madore hasn’t disappointed me and this was no exception :)
Story seems to be still going strong. Didn’t find myself bored or anything of that sort. I will say I did find myself getting very frustrated at times and that is why I gave it a 4.
Cassiane was a good character. I felt bad that she had a huge role thrown upon her by the death of her father. She lead as best as she could even though a lot didn’t really believe she could. I like that she didn’t immediately just throw herself at Kyrian with the whole love thing. I know it a lot of books it happens which is fine, but if it happens every time I’m just like omg come on! 😂 I like the fact that she was like nah not gonna rush this.
Kyrian was another good character. I like the fact that no matter what the daemon thought of him he never once proved them right. He showed them that he was a strong, brave, and trustworthy person. Also a good guy and a gentleman! I also like the fact that he didn’t try to rush it with Cassi, and that it was kind of drawn out love.
The parts I got frustrated with is mostly Zander. I get Austin is his mate but dang dude! If something happen it was get the angels down here now, or if one thing went wrong he turned to his dark side, and was going to level the town. Some serious smothering going on there. And the reaction to the news with him and Austin saw that coming a mile away.
All in all it wasn’t a bad book. The story line is still good! Just frustrated with parts and was over the smothering!
While taking revenge for her fathers death Cassiane took Watcher Kyrian hostage with the plan of executing him for the crime. When Kyrian is saved and returned to his brother Watchers he is trying to come to grips to the fact that his beast has mated the Shedim leader who had ment to kill him. But when he is contacted that she needed him nothing stood in the way of his return to her side. Though he does not know how they can be together he wants to find away. All he needs is a little help from a friend and an attempted coup for a solution to his problem, now he will get his HEA and his wings. This is a complete book with no cheating or cliffhangers. I read this book in exchange for an honest review
I was really looking forward to reading the next book in the Watcher series, I did enjoy it, but.....idk, there's something amiss with it. I'm not sure what's wrong or out of place or I don't know. I did end up enjoying it & am going to read the 3rd book, I hope I'm more satisfied with it. Maybe I need to read the series a 2nd time, then I can figure out what seemed off with this book. Don't get me wrong, is still worth reading, but something just didn't flow right for me. I almost lost interest, but it caught my attention again. It's a haters to lovers, enemies to partners, fighting on opposite sides to fighting on the same side type of book. Misunderstandings, torture, lovers, betrayal, loving vs being in love, jealousy, war, etc.
Book two was slightly weaker than book one, but book three was awesome, so definitely read this novel in between. Clearly, author J.L. Madore likes to torture her ancient warriors. But then again, they are battling demons for control of the human cattle upon whom they feed. Gore, violence and regret are lead players in this installment. Plus, love seems to catch these guys when they least expect it. And Watcher Kyrian is not the only one redeemed. Enjoying this series a lot!
It seems odd to have the "mate with the enemy" book so early in the series, but I have faith in this writer.
Oh and if anyone lost respect in my reviews cuz I wanted a "little bit" of polyamory, then chillz. I like the reverse harems alright, but would like a series where it isn't all or nothing. Why not have a triad relationship in the middle of a long series? This author is pretty flexible with the types and levels of sex in her stories, so I'd like to see her break that mold. In the meantime, loving this series as much as her others!
I am enjoying this series and the author seems to be influenced by JR Ward's BDB, so if you enjoyed those books I feel sure you will also like these. The back story outside the love interest is also developing which helps to give the story more breadth. My biggest beef is the same as the first book in the series, there are some serious editing issues, with grammar, spelling and missing words occurring too regularly IMO.
Loved the story and the characters. It was fully developed and a great read. Entertaining all the way through loved the first book too and probably will the 3rd. The only thing that bothered me, and it did come up way too often, was the abbreviations of PDQ. why only that phrase? I think it messed up the flow and i cringed when i saw it . Save it for texts alone they don't belong in srories.
Watcher Redeemed is another masterpiece by J.L. Madore. If you enjoy fast paced novels with incredible storylines this is the series to read. Kyrian is a watcher who is half in love with brothers wife/mate who run into trouble with the Shedim Master Cassi. You don't have to imagine the problems ahead because it's major and J.L. Madore takes you a rollercoaster ride with this story.
Very good. Enjoyed all the story, the Watchers are intriguing and their guardian skills are extreme. Couple that with their immortality and deadly enemies from Hell and the stories are riveting.
This was like the Black Dagger Brotherhood and the Dark Hunters were cousins or something. It was decent, but very much like my other two favorite series.
I have just finished reading this story and I have loved every page and I look forward to reading more of them.I would like to say thank you for all your hard work and may fortune smile 😃on you always 😁from a bookworm
I liked this story as it shows thAt you have to work for love and it can be hard work, also goes to show that there are a lot of obstacle in a relationship
