Finding true love in a small town is damn near impossible. It’s either marry your high school girlfriend or pray someone new comes around so you can knock her boots off before anyone else does. If that fails, maybe the next town over has a good time to offer.
Unless you’re me.
I’m Brandt Kenshaw and I fell in love with the one girl I wasn’t supposed to.
My step sister.
She moved in straight from rehab and is now living on my dad’s ranch in the guesthouse.
My guesthouse. With me.
She’s a drug addict. Or she was. Covered in tattoos and pitch-black hair, she looks about as at home on this farm as I’d look in her big city. She sleeps all day, eats all my peanut butter, and refuses to help out on the ranch. Doesn’t matter though. Not much does when I realize she’s the spur to my boot and I don’t fight it for near as long as I should.
As if hiding the relationship from our parents isn’t hard enough, my crazy brother is determined to watch it go up in smoke.
We’re addicted to each other, but this is one addiction I hope she doesn’t kick.

Loved this Forbidden Romance!

A yummy, good-spirited cowboy.

A hardened, recovering addict city girl.

Both saddled with barely bridled attraction to one another (see what I did there?).

The twist? They’re step-siblings!

Watch the attraction and mayhem unfold as you read about Brandt and Jo! This book is super hot and angsty as Jo and Brandt try to navigate this touchy situation. Jo’s estranged-newly-reacquainted mother is walking on eggshells as she ties to mend her relationship with her daughter. Brandt’s father is old school cowboy. A romantic relationship such as this is sure to bring hellfire to the ranch.

Read it today!

"For some reason, a rude chick moves into my house, steals my peanut butter, and is mean to me every chance she gets even when I'm trying to be nice and hospitable. You'd think I wouldn't care, but I do."

First off....cowboys, 'nuff said. Complete opposites and I found myself cracking up while enjoying the growing heat between these two. Brandt is absolutely adorably sinful!! Let me tell you, there are some incredibly hot moments in this one, not even kidding. It had a good dose of angst, although at times Jo was becoming a little tedious, but understandable given her past. I fell in love with the group of friends, so I can't wait for their books either. Fun, flirty but evened out with real, gritty, and dangerous undertones...great start to a series! Don't be put off by forbidden, it was written well, so nothing was weird. I thank the Authors for providing a copy to review!

"You're new here, Jo. I'll give you a few days to accept one thing about me, " I say., then lean down closer to her, simply because she smelled great last night and I need another hit. "I have no boundaries, sweetheart."

Hold on to your cowboy hats and get ready to meet the men of Kenshaw Ranch.

Brandt Kenshaw is going to be your new book boyfriend. And if you have your book boyfriends sorted into groups, add Brandt to your favorite Cowboy BBF list. I put him on mine. Hell, I already have Bo and Chase there and I haven't gotten their stories yet!

Jo isn't your typical girl. She's from NY. She's a city girl. She doesn't want to move in with her mother and step-father at all. And when she hears there's a step-brother in the picture? Well, let's just say she's less than thrilled. If she could be more aloof, I'd be hard pressed to learn how. She's the perfect girl for Brandt. And that probably sounds stupid, but she's perfect because he brings out the best in her. It may not seem like it, but he does. He pushes her out of her comfort zone, he pushes her to live her life.
And living isn't what Jo is accustomed to doing.
She's content with not leaving the confines of her room.

Brandt will have you dropping your panties and panting for more. He'll have you bent over a hay bale in no time. He'll have you keeping secrets and he'll have you stealing kisses behind closed doors.

And most importantly, he'll be there to protect you as you fall for him. Because you will fall for Brandt Kenshaw. I know I did.

Give me Bo, Piper Frost. I'm not satisfied with only one cowboy!

This is an intense angsty read and I loved every page of it. I loved what a rough exterior Jo had and Brandt is just the perfect cowboy. This book took me on a complete roller coaster ride of emotions from humor, swoon, angst and steam. This is a book that has a quick pace to it and left me completely understanding the situation the characters were in and rooting for them

Book Review: Addict
Author: Piper Frost
FIVE STARS
This is a book written by two authors collaberating together. M. Piper and H.Q. Frost. A true page turner. I started and finished this book in approximately 3 hours (give or take) I did have to work and sleep in there, but total read time was around 3 hours.
The story line was fabulous and the characters were great. This is a Young Adult book, Jo and Brandt are both in their late teens, early 20s. This is also a forbidden love, Step-brother/Step-sister romance.
Even though the 2 of them didnt know each other when their parents married, the relationship was almost off limits. But can you honestly say you can turn your back on true love?
The ups and downs, highs and lows, love and loss, fear and happiness, it will all have you on a roller coaster of emotions. Jo is a very strong willed young lady and she does what she has to do to survive. A recovering addict and homeless teenager, can she ever find it in her to forgive her mother for neglecting her as a teen?
Brandt, has spent his entire life working on his fathers farm, he knows nothing else, when he finds love he wants to hold onto it forever no matter the cost.
I loved this book and highly recommend it. I can't hardly wait for the next book to come out so that I can read about Bo's story.

A Spicy Taboo Cowboy Romance.

What a story. Piper and Frost did a excellent job creating fun, likable, addicting characters.

Brandt and Jo have a chemistry that can't be tamed..
Brandt is a sexy carefree country boy. Jo is recovering addict who has spent the last few years running from her mother, living on the streets of New York. Now fresh out of rehab she finds herself headed to a small country town with the one person she tried so hard to run from and a new family, but Jo wants nothing more than to be left alone and to sleep her days away. There is only one problem. She has a very persistent step brother.

I always get so giddy when these two authors get together because I know they are going to create something epic and Addict was no exception. There isn't a single thing I didn't love about this book!

Yeeehaaaa! It’s been too long since I’ve read some Piper Frost! Holy mother of all things hot and steamy! This book was just... wow.

Brandt. Can you say swoon? This sexy cowboy will have your heart racing. He may be young, but he knows just how to make a woman feel special - even if said woman is someone he shouldn’t be falling for.

Jo. The city girl and recovering addict. The girl who just wants to be left alone to wallow in her own self pity, and fair enough too, she’s been dealt a crappy hand. But how can she resist the good natured man who is determined to help her take her life back?

This book has everything. Sexy cowboys, bubbly girls, aggressive a**holes, jealousy, lust, love, and a whole heaping helping of steamy sexy times. You’ll fall in love with Brandt, and probably Bo too 😉 Maybe even Chase. Okay, so they’re all freakin hot and swoon worthy! You’ll love them all!

I cannot wait for the next books in the Kenshaw Ranch series!

I love going into a book and finally realizing when the title and cover all make sense! I was annoyed, I laughed out loud, and I even gasped a few times. Their was just enough drama and the perfect amount of sexy time! So be ready to have Brandt rope you in and make you swoon so hard you’ll be dying to add him to your long list of book boyfriends. Addict is the first Piper Frost book I’ve had the pleasure of reading and it won’t be my last!

Brandt Kenshaw is the sweetest guy. Who wouldn’t fall in love with him? Jo aggravated the HELL out of me at first but won my heart in the end! I felt all kind of wrong reading this love story between step siblings. It felt so wrong and so right and completely screwed with my brain and I loved it! Sexy cowboys are my new fave, who woulda thought?

Holy hot cowboy. Who knew? I mean, I didn’t. Cowboys were never my thing, but there is something about Brandt that makes me want to go buy a cowboy hat and ride a horse, and maybe him.
Jo is an addict. Addicted to drugs, peanut butter, and cowboys. Well, at least now she is after moving home and meeting her housemate. The relationship of Jo and Brandt is taboo on some levels (spoiler: they live together and not because he was looking for an angry roommate. Their parents are married.)
But Jo isn’t the only one with a past that could ruin them. Crazy read and I very much enjoyed it.

A young cowboy who has never known anything but life on the farm meets a goth, addict, city girl. They are thrown together because they are “family” – step-siblings to be exact. But what happens when you spend so much time together that you start liking each other, even loving each other? Well that is what you get in this story about Brandt and Jo.

I love this story. Brandt is so sweet and good-natured. He always tries to do what is right, even if he does not agree with what his dad says. He is trying to become his own man, especially when it comes to Jo. Meanwhile, Jo is brought back to live with a mother that did not want her and she is just marking time until she can leave, while trying to stay clean. She does not want, or feel that she needs anyone. But Brandt starts to break down her walls in little ways going to the creek, brushing his horse, and even helping with the baby chicks. But it gets difficult for them when they want to spend all of their time together and keep it secret. I think this story is very relatable to some blended families.

Take a chance on this cowboy, you won’t be disappointed!

Well, throw me a cowboy hat and saddle up my horse, I'M GOING COUNTRY!!!! Piper Frost did an amazing job delivering us the best opposite attract story! The heat, humor, drama, and suspense was the perfect recipe for an afternoon read!

Not only do we get this opposite attract story but also throw in a little-forbidden romance makes this book hard to put down. I loved the characters, Jo was feisty from the very beginning and never gave that up throughout the entire book. Brandt was a smokin hot cowboy who never gave up on what he wanted. These two together were like fireworks on the 4th of July....explosive!

I really enjoyed the story. There was a lot of things happening that make the story entertaining from start to finish. There was never a dull moment. If you are looking for a hot cowboy who tames (kinda) the city girl, this is it!

5 stars ~ Erin

This book was AAAHHH-amazing!! I was hooked from the start. The only downside I could find was that Brandt didn't have enough friends to make the series longer!!! This duo never fails to take my breath away. I devoured every word of this story. I laughed. I definitely cried, big ugly tears. Day 43. OMG!!! Definite sobbing on that one. Ladies, you have a way with words that truly astounds me. I am never disappointed with your books, as your characters always settle in and call my heart home. I will be waiting, not so patiently, for Bo. Maybe bring along some of his rodeo friends as well!!

4.5 stars ~ Tatia

This cowboy is a whole different brand. I kind of expected a cocky, arrogant cowboy. Instead we got one that's polite and considerate. The heroine on the other hand. She's the hard hitter. She doesn't want to be there, but she didn't have many options. They're an unlikely pair. Heck, you'd never even think these two ran in the same crowds. A city girl next to a farm boy? Nope, not even in the same dimension. But there's something about Brandt that breaks down Jo's walls, crumbling them piece by piece. I fell for these two as well as some of Brandt's closest friends. The more I read the sadder I became that the story was coming to an end. The only thing that saved me from a breakdown is knowing that we get more of them all soon. At least it better be soon!

Addict, aptly named because from the first chapter, Jo had me hooked.

Jo is literally thrown in our face from moment one.  She’s brash, throws open punches, and has a screw you attitude…a product of being dealt a crap hand and nothing worth checking or folding, so she goes all in.  I wasn’t sure how I felt about Jo at first but she led me on a journey where I felt myself not only rooting for her to get ahead but protective of her.  I wanted to make her life better.  She was tough, tattooed, and in her mind tainted.

And then there’s Brandt, her step-brother (ooohhh, that taboo…but handled so perfectly here).  She doesn’t meet him as much as allows him to seep into her soul, her very being.  He’s the cowboy boot wearin’, Stetson tippin’,  younger man lol.  But there’s just something about Jo that Brandt can’t let go of, that makes his simple farm life happier.  But her past as well as his past and present won’t let go.

These characters were incredibly fit together in this story.  Hard to soft, easy going to standoffish, and open to closed.  But as different as they were, they both became a redemption for the other.  The storyline and background will gut you knowing that it’s an absolutely viable situation in today’s society.  Be prepared to be offended, swoon a bit, fear for the safety of the characters, angry, and yes, a tear or two may fall.  This story allows you to experience it all.  If only we could choose our own destiny, our path to happiness as opposed to the road to destruction…what if!!!

Side note here…Jo did not much like the country and its intricacies and after learning her name was Jolene, I wondered if that way intentional.  I admit that I kept waiting for a reference to Dolly Parton and this song.

I voluntarily received this ARC.  This is an honest, personal Review.

You've read the blurb and several other reviews before finding mine, I won't bore you with another synopsis, amiright?

To be honest I read most Piper Frost books with one eye closed because I am afraid they are going to rip my guts out at any moment, they're like that, but Addict is a breath of fresh country air. Aaaaahhhh! No but ripping at all, okay it was a bit angsty in parts and there was a bit of high drama with the evil/crazy brother. It was a completely engaging read from 0 to 100%!

I loved Jo! She's a smart mouth New York street rat who isn't afraid to back it up! She is who she is, take it or leave it and F you too! She is not one bit happy to be with her mother on her ranch after her stint in re-hab, but hasn't got any other options. There's a lot of well earned anger there and she's making everyone pay until she starts to warm up to her hot as heck roomie/step-brother. Brandt is working over time to get the knife tongued anti-social goth girl out of her room and into the sunlight or at least to the family table for a meal. His good nature and looks are working in his favor to crack her crusty shell as he takes her verbal abuse with a smile and a wink. The pair are great together even when they aren't getting along.

The pair have an undeniable sizzling chemistry that they are putting to the test despite having to keep it on the down low. Nobody is going to be cheering on this couple, no matter how great they are together. There is plenty of outside influence trying to keep them apart.

I loved all the friends in this story, they rounded it out and gave it depth that I appreciated. I'm thrilled that we'll get to see some of them in upcoming books.

All right, ladies, put on your cowgirl boots and prepare to have Piper Frost boot-scoot across your heart with Addict, the first book in an exciting new series. We meet Brandt (guaranteed to be your newest book boyfriend), a sweet, Southern, "farm boy" who always tries to do the right thing, even if it is at odds with his daddy's views and Jo, a tough, inked, in your face, pull no punches kinda "city girl" who just doesn't care. She was abandoned by her mama four years ago when mama sought C & W stardom. Instead, mama married Garrison Kenshaw. Brandt's daddy, and is attempting to atone for the way she treated her daughter by hauling her down to Texas from New York following a lengthy stint in rehab. Jo and Brandt are thrown together in the guest house and that is when the real fun starts. Yup, Piper Frost explores the slightly taboo subject of step-siblings developing feelings for one another. Brandt's unfailingly cheerful disposition and Southern charm are a lethal combination!
Ultimately, this is a story of uncovering secrets, breaking boundaries, shaking free of the past, redemption, and salvation. Just who is saving who?? Be prepared to laugh, to cry, and finally, to cheer Brandt and Jo. Addict is a stunning debut book for this series and I can hardly wait for the next episode. Ooo-wee, y'all will be dreaming about cowboys long after you finish this book!

Well hello there sexy cowboy. Add in a bit of a taboo love story and bam you got a winner. I mean hello how can you not love cowboys and well lets face it step sibling romances? Yes I said it hot as sin cowboy and step siblings. Picture city girl meets country boy and you get holy of all hotness coming off these pages. Addict is amazingly fabulous. Brandt the sexy oh so sexy cowboy has a heart of gold and damn does he make even peanut butter sexy. Add in the arrival of former addict and homeless Jo into the mix and damn these two bickering chemistry is off the charts. I mean come on how can your through two sexy adults that her step siblings in one house on their own and not expect anything to happen. You get hot sex and add a few fights plus warring brothers and clueless parents and you get this amazing book. I mean I love the fight in Brandt and how protective he is of Jo. Jo is strong in her own way and is a survivor through and through. Addict not only made me all hot and bothered and swoon but it also made me shed a few tears there along the way. Oh the feels the beautiful and hot feels. I'd expect nothing less from Piper Frost. They sure do have an addictingly hot new series on there hands that I can't wait to see where they go with these cowboys.

I don't rate a lot of books 3/5. Usually it is a 5 or 4 or a dnf and I rate it a 2. I save the 1s for the absolute worst, should not have been published books.(very very rare!) Books that are just so so usually end up as dnfs because I just don't care enough to finish. And that was almost thd case several times with this one. I made it through though. This book was just alright. Definitely won't continue with the series.

The book had promise but it just didn't deliver. The situation with her mother was never addressed. A confrontation between them would have been emotional for the reader and made the book more authentic. I kept waiting for it, but it never happened. The preoccupation with them being step siblings was a bit much. They just met- it wasn't like they grew up together! Not telling anyone about Cash was stupid. Garrison not saying anything about Cash's death was a huge omission. Jo killing someone and it never coming up again. It just happened and then was forgotten was weird! The ending, Jo starts a salon with no training or experience except when she did her mom's makeup and hair when she was a kid...please! Writing all this, I'm shocked I managed to finish it!

Ohhhh this taboo cowboy has stolen my heart! I haven’t read too many Cowboys books lately but this book shows why I love them so much. Not only that, but the step sibling aspect and the amazing writing from this author duo has made this a truly amazing book.

Jo and Brandt couldn’t be more opposites. The author really made these characters unique but close enough that they would be a perfect match when they let them selves feel and accept. I loved them so hard.

The suspense aspect had my blood boiling. I was scared and sad and so many of there things. I didn’t expect some things to play out the way they did but I was pleased with each turn.

I have no clue what to say about this wildly addictive book. I couldn’t stop even I I had to. I was glue to my device and couldn’t even stop to enjoy one of my favorite shows. That has to say a lot. I can’t wait til Bo gets his own book. We see a lot of him in this book and I quickly swooned over him. 5 Stars #2OCCJD

Wow! This taboo step brother romance was one wild ride!

Brandt Kenshaw is the definition of sexy cowboy right down to his boots. He's young, but knows what he wants and goes for it, even if people think it's wrong. He's one fine "farm boy" I wouldn't mind getting under.

Jo is the complete opposite of Brandt. She's a "city girl" from NYC and a recovering addict. She has a take-no-crap attitude, lots of tattoos and dyes her naturally blonde hair black. When Jo is forced to move to the south to her estranged mother's ranch with her mom and her step dad, shes not expecting her hot as hell country step brother to get under her skin and in her heart.

Jo and Brandt go through some crazy stuff while hiding their relationship from their parents and when it comes out, all hell breaks loose. This book keeps you "addicted" from page one. So much craziness and excitement to keep you reading til the end. The sex will melt your panties off and the angst will keep you on the edge of your seat! I loved this book and can't wait for more of the Kenshaw Ranch boys!!!

Ride a Cowboy 🔥

With its hint of taboo, a smokin' hot cowboy, and a feisty city girl, I've become addicted to Addict!

Brandt and Jo couldn't be more different, but they might be exactly what the other needs. Brandt's easy going style and Jo's seemingly indifferent demeanor hide deeper feelings that come out when they're together.. Coming from completely different places in life, they try to resist their growing attraction, plus they're step-siblings and Jo's estranged mom is trying desperately to bring her back into the family. It's a touchy situation for everyone.
Regardless of the forbidden, Brandt and Jo's chemistry is scorching--who knew those country boys had such wicked bedroom skills!

This is story had just the right amount of drama, wit and sexiness to keep me glued to the pages from cover to cover...it's just so good!

Hardworking country boy (a cowboy) meets big city girl (a recovering addict who was also homeless for a couple of years). Did I mention they are also step brother and sister? He has a decent relationship with his Dad (maybe a bit fearful), she has a hateful relationship with her Mom. There are so many upfront complications to this story and the story takes awhile to evolve. He is patient and kind right from the beginning and she is really a witch. That's OK, because that slow burn keeps you turning the pages. Once the relationship starts you will need to hang on for a wild ride!

Excellent start to a new series by Piper Frost. Any taboo is usually not my thing, but I really liked this book and the authors did a terrific job with this story. I'm looking forward to meeting the rest of the cowboys in the Kenshaw Ranch. I highly recommend this book.

I like cowboys just like everybody else, but good lord, Brandt Kenshaw has win my heart completely. Hardworking, intense, resilient and so much fun in his daily life, it was a no brainer that Brant would take this personality traits to his love life. And what an amazing love story he builds with Jo. She is his exact opposite in everything. A woman who has suffered more than words could explain, who was just about to give up on life just to exist. But giving up is almost impossible when Brandt is around. He has enough energy and love for the two of them and will do everything in his power to inject the same feelings in Jo.
The topics treated in this story together with the love story and the hottest moments I have red in a while, are perfectly balanced and make this book a page-turner-can't-put-it-down one.

Cowboys are sexy.
Brandt totes lives up to this. He is very sexy. He works on a ranch. He sometimes works with out his shirt on. He gets hot and sweaty....ohhh sorry I was drooling there for a hot min. Anyway back to the book.
Jo comes to the ranch reluctantly after having a estranged relationship with her mother. Her mother now has a new life and new husband. She also has a new stepson.
Brandt is over friendly and just wants to make Jo feel at home. Jo wants zero to do with her new "family".
These two get hot and heavy very fast and from then on the horse is outta the gate and he ain't looking back.
There are some struggles...many in fact. How will they handle it? You have to read to find out!

And here is another reason that I love these authors... I mean who knew that step siblings could be so hot together, not me. But they managed to make a story about forbidden love into so much more. We get danger, lust, tragedy, regret and a love so deep that they are willing to sacrifice their own happiness.
When Jo is forced to move to the ranch where her mom lives, she is determined that it is only temporary but she was not expecting Brandt. Her new stepbrother has a knack for getting under her skin but she realizes to late that it is not a bad thing. When everyone is trying to keep them apart, how will they be able to survive together?
Seriously just pick up the book now to find out, you will not be disappointed!
