The Hunger Games meets Cinderella. Happily Ever After is only beginning.

Winning had never been the plan. I just wanted to go home. I still do.

Now, I'm in too deep. With my conversion only days away, the count down has begun. When it hits zero, I lose.

My only hope is to rely on the one who brought me here in the first place. A few unlikely friends might make all the difference between the Fold winning and a revolution. If I can stay alive that long.

Erin Bedford is an otaku, recovering coffee addict, and Legend of Zelda fanatic. Her brain is so full of stories that need to be told that she must get them out or explode into a million screaming chibis. Obsessed with fairy tales and bad boys, she hasn’t found a story she can’t twist to match her deviant mind full of innuendos, snarky humor, and dream guys.

On the outside, she’s a work from home mom and bookbinger. One the inside, she’s a thirteen-year-old boy screaming to get out and tell you the pervy joke they found online. As an ex-computer programmer, she dreams of one day combining her love for writing and college credits to make the ultimate video game!

Until then, when she’s not writing, Erin is devouring as many books as possible on her quest to have the biggest book gut of all time. She’s written over thirty books, ranging from paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and even scifi romance.

Also, third person is really weird when writing about yourself. Just putting that out there.

Audiobook version:

This series is a great new spin a dystopian PNR Cinderella story. I love the characters- well... I hate some of the characters but only because they are pure evil! The plot line is unique. I like that what once started as a Cinderella story has morphed into something much much more and nothing like you would have expected. I was riveted and can't wait for the next installment.

Narration is a dream! Melissa lends such soul to the characters she narrates for. She brings them to life and gives them voice- and what a voice it is! Absolutely a pleasure to listen to.

The plot thickens but subpar writing.

So vampires, didn't expect that but it's very well done.
We learn the history of Alban in book 2 and a bit more of the mysterious Fold and Patrick in particular.

It was a very short book and I felt like the story was a bit rushed. It could have been expanded on. The relationship between Clara and Patrick was going really good in book 1 and the start of this book but I felt again that this relationship could have been deepened and they needed more scenes just by themselves.

I know I have his name wrong but he annoys me so it's fine lol Marsh? I like him in book 1 but his character for me just nose dives and he becomes really annoying, possessive when he has no right and then confesses his love??? I think he was written this way for a purpose but I was kinda like WTF.

So I think this is a great story but this book could have used some more work.

Now that Clara has become a vampire herself, she’s more determined than ever to bring them down. Clara grows up in this final book and is able to set events into motion to right wrongs. Until Dawn is a satisfying ending to Clara’s story. I voluntarily reviewed this book.

This is the second book in the Crimson Fold series and pretty much picks up right were book one left off. As always the writing style is smooth with plenty of suspense, action and betrayal. I can not wait to see what is in store for us in the third book of the series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from the publisher

Learning the partial truth cannot prepare you for the living with the monsters.
A painful discovery for Clarabelle, for sure. She knew what was at stake and thought she knew what she stepped into. However, her confusing feelings for Patrick make her head spin, her loyalties seem doubtful even to her, and her plans have serious holes. Even more, nothing could have her prepared for what the Crimson Fold have in store for her.
I absolutely enjoyed this book. Strong and feisty, Clarabelle is a heroine very easy to connect with and feel for. Her inner fire and determination drive the reader forward through the whole book, and I finished the story in one sit thanks to this drive. Her relationship with Patrick is a mess, and their coming back and forth is actually really amusing. Marsha screams nothing but trouble, and Zara's presence is as harmless as of an furious viper. The culture and history of vampires in this world is very well built and only slowly uncovered through the details provided here and there, but right from the beginning it hinted at a complex and well-working world (in a way, if we don't think plotwise, since Elle could have objected this claim).
I must also say that the way the book ended keeps me on toes and desiring the next book immediately, since my curiosity what happens next is somewhere above the atmosphere. Great and quick read.
PS: re-reading this series brings to my attention the difference between book one and book two. This one is actually much better than the first one.

I loved the storyline for this book so so much. It’s a great twist, and for the most part the characters are pretty great.

However, I am finding Clara increasingly annoying. Her actions are erratic and often don’t make sense. For someone who’s looking to start a rebellion, she is not making the smartest choices to support that. She’s super wishy washy, never listens to anyone and just assumes she knows best. She behaves in increasingly childish ways, no planning to support what she wants to happen. It was so incredibly frustrating. She was constantly being told that she had to play the game to make the changes she wants, but she would behave in a manner completely at odds with that.

Besides that, her relationship with Marsha doesn’t really make sense. She’s overly trusting and protective/jealous in regards to him, but then admits that she’s only seen him as a friend.

Honestly, if I didn’t love the actual events of the story so much I wouldn’t continue this serious simply because Clara is so very annoying.

I was very happy to read Until Dawn and see what would happen next for Clara. The story is unfolding slowly, yet so much happens that it was hard to put down. Now I can't wait for the next book.

What I liked:

All the interactions between Patrick and Clara. Ohhh the attraction makes me all giddy. I love it. I love the conflict Clara feels whenever she's around him, although she ignores the attraction she feels and never acts on it. Her body is a whole other story. I can never get enough of Asher. All scenes are better with him in them and he is a great friend to Clara. The things that happened in this book were all great. I like and sometimes disliked how much she challenged Patrick and things he does. While I love her for calling him out for things he lets the Fold do, she doesn't ever hear him out because things seem to be more complex than him decreeing something and it's law. Plus, her rash decision with Marsha gets them both into trouble and she had the nerve to blame him.

What I didn't like:
Clara's character is a lot more annoying in this book. I like how she challenges Patrick, but she never stopped yelling at him to listen to the position he was in. Obviously his position isn't cut and dry, but she thought with the snap of his fingers people did what he wanted without consequences. Things that happened in this book that Clara wasn't happy about was a direct result of her actions yet she tried to blame Patrick for them. It was completely unfair. My biggest issue with this book was how annoying and irrational Clara was being. She's not thinking out what her desire to expose the Fold will create.

Regardless I still liked this book. I do wish it was longer so I spend more time with these characters. Mostly Patrick and Asher. The way this one ended I can't wait to see what will happen next.

Well, this was still an easy read, but the hardest part was dealing with Clara! (And you’re telling me that this far into the dystopian future people still equate “Clarabelle” with cows!?) don’t even get me started on what reason the author could possible have for naming another character after a female from the Brady Bunch!

Clara... some moments she’s mature and others she’s a petulant child throwing tantrums. It’s frustrating to read. Like, “I’m gonna be strong and save my people in the Glade” but also, “no! Need change immediately, I’m going to sulk in my room without showering for four days instead of starting the ball rolling!”

Next... Marsha, blissfully ignorant even though Clara tells him everything, to warm him... thinks getting blood drank is a “kink”? Not even putting two and two together, until he sees the same thing happening to Clara and suddenly he’s madly in love with her and can’t stop fighting until she’s free!? Even disrespecting her wishes. Dude. Clara makes me feel so frustrated because sure it’s a great idea to run off with Marsha and a kidnapped fold member...even though she wouldn’t even escape with her own father for better reasons??

The contradictions are making my head spin. It was like pulling teeth to watch Clara bumble around and make poor decision after poor decision.

I’m not even sure how to feel about Patrick...one moment he’s kind the next he’s a jerk. What should I feel as a reader? I don’t like feeling what Clara is feeling...which, I’m assuming, was the goal? Like what is going on.

Also. She’s going out of her way to save Marsha, only a friend, but she figures Violet is perfectly fine in the clutches of someone exactly the same!? Argh.

This is the second book in the Crimson Fold series. I have always enjoyed Ms. Bedford’s writing style, and I’m always glad to pick up a book by her. It seems whenever I read a book by her, the writing style is so smooth that I read through almost the whole book in one setting. This installment was that way. I love the setting of this series, and the characters are very interesting; I really like Asher as a side character. But I have to be completely honest: Clarabelle is starting to get on my nerves a little bit. I know she’s basically a teen, but she can be a little wishy-washy…maybe a better word would be immature. At one point, Patrick tells her they are at this point because of her actions, and she denies it. What he said, however, was absolutely true. She needs to wise up a little if she is going to set out to do what she wants to do, and she’ll have to be more mature about it to succeed. I’m vague only because of spoilers. Even with this tiny annoyance, I am really enjoying this series, and this was a great book. I can’t wait to see where Ms. Bedford will take us, and what will happen next. If you loved the first one, you’ll love this one! Highly recommend! Thanks to the author for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

“The Hunger Games meets Cinderella. Happily Ever After is only beginning.”

I really don’t like the dystopian genre as a general rule, though I do have exceptions. The Hunger Games series was one of them. It’s no surprise that the whole Hunger Games plus Cinderella (a true fave of mine) hook caught my attention when book 1 of Erin Bedford’s The Crimson Fold series, Until Midnight, came out. Lucky for me that worked out well as the book was totally enjoyable. Now the series continues with Until Dawn (book 2). This is another superb book which builds upon the wonderfully crafted world and characters of the first book and takes them to new heights. At this rate I may have to make an exception to my “generally dislike dystopians” rule, at least when it comes to a well done dystopian fairy tales.

Highly recommended.

Clara has won the Crimson Fold Annual Election Ceremony and so she wins Patrick Blordril who is the leader of the Crimson Fold. That is until she discovers what Patrick is and that all the Crimson Fold is or shall she call it a nest. She found a box about them and has been reading it, plus Patrick shows her the feeding room too. She won't feed him and everyone is wondering why they saw Patrick in the feeding room. That looks bad on him so Clara lets Patrick bite her and take her blood. She and Patrick have to married or her family will die they threaten. Then after the wedding ceremony and at the reception she is hauled off by two men who knock her out. She comes awake on a table and is tied down. Still only kissing in this looks to be a YA read. UUUGH I can’t believe I didn’t see it coming. This story is too good to end with book 2. There’s too much story left to tell. It isn’t working out like she had hoped and everything is all screwed up and now she may be putting innocents at risk. She has lost it all and learned too much. She doesn’t want to admit defeat even though she is at a cross roads and has no idea what to do. So much to loose. So much already lost.
I love the directional change of the story. When options are taken away and all that’s left is all there is. This author weaves a tale that has you spinning. Who to trust. Who to care for. What to do. Love the emotions and the people and the feels this story is full of.

This second installment is full of twists and turns and all about who to trust and who not. It was a non-stop ride from start to finish with a big cliff hanger that left me drooling for more. Clarabelle or Elle as she is mostly known is a strong lead character who is willing to do what is necessary even if she does go about things half-cocked. She could easily play the long game, but what is the fun in that? I'm still unsure of Patrick and his overall motives and hopefully they will come to light in the end. I have to say I like her better with him than I do with Marsha even though that probably goes against popular opinion. I volunteered to read this book.

I liked book one and was hoping that Clara would use more of her common sense and not just run blindly into trouble. She had some good options to make a difference, but she didn't think about things before she ran off half cocked. She was so whiney and self-centered I lost the connection I had to her. Not only did she risk herself, but the few friends she made too. I was angry at her by the end of the book. She proved herself selfish and untrustworthy. As if she didn't hurt enough people, she is putting her family in danger now, too. I hope she can redeem herself in the next book. Erin Bedford wrote a love story that was not the usual kind. Ella and Patrick are to be married but Patrick picked Ella. Ella has a feeling that things aren't want they seem. She's right. For five hundred years women and men are picked to go to the Core. This time Patrick the leader had to pick a mate and it was Ella. She went but when she got there she learned that the humans were no more then cattle to the core. Patrick says he wants change and Ella is the start of his plan. Patrick could love Ella but Ella just wants to save her people.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I have to say this series is a little weird. I knew going in they were vampires, but just seems to keep me wondering about things that are way off plot points. Clara is still playing the game and she knows that her time is running out. She wants to go home but she knows that she is in a little do deep for that even to be possible. She is wondering if Patrick on her side. I still have questions but I think maybe I am just not getting this series.

Clarabell was picked to be somebody, everyone wanted to be picked for. She didn't want any part of being the Inner Circle and didn't want her friends to be also. But they liked pretty clothes, good food and servants waiting on them. Clarabell found out she was picked to be the Presidents wife of the Crimson Fold, oh no. Excellent story line, easy reading! While I will admit that this series is not my most favorite by Ms. Bedford, I still enjoyed it. This book has a "dark" vibe to it. Determining who to trust is almost impossible. Clarabelle at times is immature and idealistic. Patrick and Asher are hard to get a "read" on- not sure if either is the "good guy" or the "bad guy". It will be interesting to see what the next book brings.

Book 1 was on the dark side yet addicting and I found book 2 was even better. Less world building in this one and more emphasis on what Elle is thinking and going through. A few more secrets are revealed that made me think what a cool story line and love that twist. Even though it ends in a cliff hanger it is still a amazing story and concept. So love the fact that it is not the typical vampire story. Just an amazing book and series.

My fifth read/listen from author Erin Bedford. Another wonderfully crafted captivating read, the second in The Crimson Fold series, purported to be a re-written fairy tale, but I didn’t see it, whose storyline continued to reveal & evolve throughout the length of the book with a cliff-hanger ending that leaves no doubt that there'll be another in the series. The voice inflections of the narrator were such that I can’t imagine just reading it.

This is the third of Erin’s books that I’ve read. Her capacity for story telling and creating engaging characters is on point. I loved the world building in the beginning and also how she manages to capture romance between having a strong male and female lead. I read book one and two in a day and so I’m left waiting for the next instalment. The only bad thing I can say about the books is that they aren’t long enough!

Clara has found some of the secrets in the castle - she really wants to help - to change things for her people, and then to go home. But will she succeed? What will happen when it comes to her feelings for Patrick? Will Marsha do more harm than good with his good intentions? It seems that his jealousy may be the death of them all.

This is book 2 to The Crimson Fold and this is a continuation from book 1 Until Midnight. I really did enjoy this story but I do believe that Clara needs to grow up and she needs to know that there will be consequences for some of the stupid actions she takes. There is a cliffhanger at the end and I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3, it’s a great read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

The passion, the dedication, the edgeness. This book has it all. Clara and Marsha became stronger then ever and clara's emotions for Patrick went from love to pure hate. When Marsh and Clara tried to escape, the Crimson Fold caught them and their punishment was of equal dusturbance. You will discover hidden secrets and be taken on a journey of a vampire Human wedding

Until Dawn is book two in The Crimson Fold series and I definitely recommend that you read book one before starting this one. This is an interesting fairy tale with a vampire twist, intriguing characters and a cliffhanger that left me wanting more. Although Clara is a bit whiny and frustrated me at times I am still enjoying this series and I look forward to reading the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

We start where we left off in Until Midnight, Elle does irk me a little in this book but it is still engaging and i just want to know more about who to trust and what will happen. There are great characters along with a really good pace in the book and when you get to the end you want to read the next book straight away.

Second in the Crimson Fold Series. This book seamlessly picks up where the first book ends. I could not put this down. Its the characters and story that kept me reading until sadly it ended. Good thing I have the next book in the series already. Otherwise I would be going nuts waiting for the next book to come out.

This is the second book in this intriguing vampire series. A twisted version of the Twilight saga and the fairytale classic Cinderella. Ella, oops sorry I meant Clara, has started to show the steel in her backbone. Although how she can still spurn Patrick in all his alpha vampire glory is beyond me. I would have folded just like THAT! Ha ha lol. Anyway, it is not over yet. Until the next installment.
