I really liked this book, because it has a lot of drama. Hortense seems to be the "goody-two shoes" of her group at Saint Cyr. But as soon as she meets Simon, she changes and can't seem to eat, breathe or live without him. Before you know it, she and Simon plan to escape Saint Cyr and run away to his family. This is very unexpected because, normally, Hortense would never ever do that. The next chapters detail their adventures into the real world that Hortense hasn't seen in a long time, and their journey of escaping France.
I recommend this book to people who enjoy dramas and historical fiction with a bit of romance.
