Virtues Of Sayyedah Fatimah

Rate this book
A collection of authentic traditions on the virtues of Sayyedah Fatima (RA), the blessed daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon her) from whom the prophetic generation started. The status of Sayyedah Fatimah is so great that those who are oblivious to it are not only doing injustice to themselves by depriving themselves from her teachings but are also unknowingly showing disregard to the Prophet (peace be upon her). At a time when Muslim women are flooded with so-called female role models, who rather than encouraging a modest and pure lifestyle, practice and preach the contrary, it is indeed time for Muslim women to adopt the lifestyle of Sayyedah Fatimah (RA) who received divine praise for her morality. People will be shocked to learn of the high esteem which she was held by the Prophet (peace be upon her) and how divine commandments were revealed to the Prophet (SAW) which were specifically regarding Sayyedah Fatimah (peace be upon her)

The book contains an authentic collection of Ahadith about the status of Bibi Fatima. There isn't much commentary or explanation, so it further opens the doors to self reflection.

Rasool Allah (saww) once called his beloved daughter and whispered something to which she cried. He (saww) whispered again, and she started laughing. Bibi Fatima later told others that the first time he (saww) whispered, he had said that soon he would return to Allah, and she cried. Then he (saww) told her that she will be the first amongst Ahl e Bait to meet her and that she is the leader of believing women in this world and the next and then she was happy.

There are a few reflecting points I would like to share. Bibi Fatima's worldly life was of 18 or so years, and yet her level of piety and connection to Allah is beyond our imagination. She knew life after Rasool Allah (saww) wouldn't be easy, but the thought to be reunited with him (saww) made her happy. There's no match for her Sabr and the things she went through. There's a lesson for each of us in every step of her life journey.

It's a great collection of hadith narrations. The problem is actually reading through the entire collection is a bit repetitive, since some of them differ from one another by only a few words. Still, a very valuable book to own, especially due to the Arabic and the chains of transmission.
