Girl Talk

Rate this book
Autumn is stuck in a rut. She's been on many first dates but is beginning to wonder if she'll ever experience happiness -- or a second date, for that matter.

When she gets a new phone, she receives a call from an "Unknown Number." The person's first words are, "So. You were going to tell me how wet you are." Autumn is stunned -- because the caller happens to be a woman.

Over the next few months, the mysterious calls continue, and the "girl talk" gets more and more personal.

But Autumn is straight . . . isn't she?

I'm a longtime reader of romance, erotica, sci-fi and horror. Having a vivid imagination, I'd always thought about writing. Finally, I went for it! On Valentines Day 2018, my first release, Girl Talk was released. It's a feel-good #lesfic romance, largely about coming of age and finding oneself!

My second LGBT novella, Awakening, was quite a bit darker. After that came Game Night in February 2019 -- a year to the day after Girl Talk! That one was based upon my non-adventures with a real-life "crush" whom I met through my day-job. And by that, I mean I was too chicken to make a move. (blush)

I'm a baseball fan, and I drew upon this for my first full-length book, Team Mom. This one is more toward the erotica end of the spectrum, and wanders out of the #lesfic category a bit. Research was especially fun -- I visited Marlins Park, Wrigley Field and a number of minor-league venues!

Other than my sister, who is my best friend in the world, my family doesn't know I write -- manuscripts of Girl Talk and especially, Awakening would probably not be well-received at Easter Brunch. Same holds true with the "day-job" profession I'm in -- so I keep those circles at arm's length when it comes to my writing.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy playing board and card games -- the real, physical ones. Although my sister Allison and I do play Words With Friends and I even let her win a few. I love to travel, and in May I made a trip to historic Wrigley Field to watch my beloved Marlins get trounced -- all in the name of research for another of my upcoming books. One hundred percent tax-deductible research, of course!

I also like to cook, often prompted by seeing something delicious posted on social media. I'm deathly afraid of heights and won't go near the railing at the mall, but I've actually jumped out of an airplane. So go figure.

I look forward to taking my readers on a journey!

Holy smokes, this was hot. Like a five alarm blazing fire. Take note, people, this is how you write f/f erotica.

This definitely has an element of fantasy about it but the execution was on point. The leads, Autumn and UNKOWN CALLER, are both sympathetic and likable. Though the fantasy element exists, they also felt like real women.

For lesfic readers, both women are bisexual (presumably) and there's some reference to m/f but really the focus is on a developing f/f relationship...and we do get a satisfying ending.

This little novella has it all. Seduction, check, good feels, check, romance, yes, amazing sex scenes, check, humor, check, fun, yep, well written, absolutely.

Recommend? Hell, yeah.

*stares at last page* What The Actual F*ck?!

Does anyone here work at Merriam Webster? If so, can they please add this author's details to the word "tease". To be fair after reading lov2laf's review I knew what I would be in for but still this book has left me speechless after it ended! It's the kind of read that makes you need one of those pretty white jackets that allow you to hug yourself all day.

After reading Telanu's Truth & Measure at the beginning of this year I honestly thought there is no way I will read anything that's nearly as good. Allow me to eat my words while downing a shot of pineapple vodka. For a relatively short book this is packed with fantastic dialogue, scorching hot moments and some pretty awful and funny first/blind dates.

For me personally there were a lot of relatable moments when reading from Autumn's POV.
This date would be so much better with her. Check.
I'm still straight right? Check.
You're not like my other girl friends. Check.
Have women always sounded this hot? Check.
Marry me Jessica! CHECK!

Do yourself a favor whoever you are.. read this! @ Cassidy Storm guess who just got a new fan!

Tips
1. Read this in bed
2. A well stocked drawer does not hurt
3. If you don't have ⬆️ , please check your nails or these days deliveries are really fast, discreet and reliable.
4. Switch off your smartphones. Trust me, the possibility of a Jessica to call you is really slim and you don't want anything to dampen your 'me time'
5. Inform your family members / friends - the ones that always drop in without notice + the ones who have fetish for doorbells that you're not in.
6. Remove the bloody doorbell.
7. Deactivate the smoke alarm - until you're done with the book.
8. Dim the bedroom lights
9. A bottle of water, at least the 5OOml on your bedside table, keep yourself hydrated.
1O. Make sure you have the number of a 24 hours pizza joint.
11. Mattress pad is a must

Girl Talk is one of the steamiest book I have ever read, and it's not 1OO% smut - there's humor, swoonworthy romance, date tips, a game of truth or dare followed by baking session and one of the best ending in the history of romance. Highly recommended.

Oh and the " Can I borrow a cup of sugar " scene, might just cause you a serious tummy ache from laughing.

Wow, what a terrible book. From the beginning, I knew this would be too good to be true. There are good mf and mm smut novellas out there but I haven't encountered a single good ff one. I volunteer Haley Cass to write one. I didn't enjoy a single sentence of this book. Things like the quote above were just so 🥴🥴 juvenile and immature.

➥ Autumn (h) the fmc is so dumb like 😭😭 whiney, annoying, stupid...the list goes on.

➥ Jess (h) was presented as being more...the love interest, where Autumn was more just eyes for the reader to see out of. But, I didn't like Jess at all what 🤣

Maybe it's a me thing but phone sex is one of the worst things I've ever read. It's like the perfect opportunity for authors to write bad dirty talk. And they played "truth or dare" (🙄) and this girl goes to her window and presses her boobs into the glass and it's supposed to be like idk interesting because it's dangerous because someone might see her? Also, another dare was going to her downstairs neighbour and asking him for "a cup of sugar" (which is meant to be obviously flirty ig?) and we get this bitchy loud latina girl who is apparently his girlfriend to show up and be annoying.

So, on top of this book being ASS I would say it was borderline xenophobic. And I think I remember the fmc calling the latina slutty or sleazy too or something. The only other latina (yes! two badly written latinx characters in a 100 page book) is the hotel housekeeper/room cleaner and her dialogue is written so that it appears she cannot speak english properly. Like, my question is, why. There was zero need to write latinx characters so badly, I wish she hadn't written them at all.

Now, the smut was gross. Like actually terrible and I hate it.

She took a sip of her coffee. “Do you work, Jessica?”
“Yeah. Although I’m off today.”
“Nice. You’re up early, then?”
“Because I like talking to you.”
“Oh. Well, that’s... sweet.”
“You’re sweet, Autumn.”
“Thank you.” She bit her lip. “Um... you too.”
“Eh.” There was a pause for a few seconds, followed by a moist slurping noise. “Mmmmm. Yeah,” Jess conceded, “pretty sweet today.”

Are you kidding me? 😭😭😭👎👎👎 Stop this nonsense immediately!!

So the thing is, these girls like to talk about Autumn's bad dates together and in one, Autumn tells Jess that one said that she looked like his favourite porn star (what the FUCK?) and Jess proceeds to look it up and say that she's hot and that she's love to get head from someone that looks like that porn star 👎 (weirdo).

In conclusion...no thanks 😊!

i hated that this book ended. It's one of those ... "what do you mean I'm at 99%?!?"
I need to know what happens now. I want to know more about these women. It's like someone gave me a bite of cookie then took it away. I'm gonna taste that cookie all day now damn you.

Smut Christmas (or whatever holiday) came early! This is hot, sweet, interesting, and has qualities that I've always wished for in other books. One of those qualities being phone sex. We get LOTS of it. This pleases me.

Really fun, really raunchy and descriptive. It doesn't skimp on sex and after reading the first page, expect what comes (lol) ahead. Now, we do get some cute fluff moments, which only enhance the experience. This story has what I consider over-the-top fun sexual fantasy, meaning in real life, it would rarely go this far. Though in fiction form, you can suspend your belief and relish their porn-ish world.

It's f/f, but quite bisexual. I read quickly past most of the male sex conversation (not a huge part of the book) because of personal preferences. I respect the loyalty to their open/fluid sexuality. Also, I think the story could've been formatted better for Kindle. Some slang words had quotes that didn't seem necessary and that'll probably change as the author puts out more work. Please, Cassidy Storm!

Got some time to get really hot? Check it out now!

“Girl Talk” is a very steamy story with a terrific narrator, but with really terrible audio quality.

MC Autumn receives an erotic call from a unknown woman, with the telephone number listed as “unknown”. Over several months, Autumn continues to receive calls from MC Jessica, and Autumn shares hilarious stories of her truly bad dates. Over time, the women become friendly, begin flirting, engaging in phone sex (really, REALLY terrific phone sex!) and finally agree to meet.

Autumn panics at what would have been their first meeting, but things go quite nicely when they finally get together!

I should have reviewed this months ago when I first listened to it, but I’m glad to have had a reason to listen to it again! Despite loving the book, and listening to it twice now, I’m recommending “Girl Talk” with 4* not 5* because the technical audio quality is often maddeningly terrible.

Fantastic!

A very sexy sizzling story and I had a blast reading it. It all starts with a call. As the story progressed, I wondered constantly when it would happen and how. The passion, the wanting oozes off every page. I simply devoured this book and this is definitely one you should read. Now I can't hardly wait for her next book.

Autumn is tired of going on dates with men who let her down and is starting to wonder if she could ever find Mr. Right. One evening she receives a phone call from an ‘unknown number’, a woman, who starts talking to her seductively. Despite Autumn’s assurances that she is straight, the sexy phone calls continue, increasing the innuendo and the heat level up to a point in which Autumn begins to fantasise about this mystery woman. Will she give this fantasy a chance?

I chose this audiobook as it’s in LezReviewBooks list of best lesbian erotica. As part of my new year resolution, I decided to read more new authors, plus the book blurb caught my attention. ‘Girl talk’ is Ms. Storm’s 2018 debut novella and I have to say that I’m delightfully surprised by the result. It’s far from being perfect but considering that the main characters are apart most of the story, the author managed to turn that potentially negative situation into a very, very hot tale. This is a testament to Ms. Storm’s ability to write natural-sounding dialogues and varied phone sex scenes.

It’s not hard to guess that this is a challenging book to narrate, in my opinion, Ms. Wilder did a good job but other narrators would have done better. I haven’t read the written version but I would have probably rated it higher. Written in first person just from Autumn’s point of view, Ms. Wilder’s narrative tone sounded on the flat side. I wasn’t convinced by her narration of the phone conversations which sounded read more than performed. Surprisingly enough, the sex scenes sounded much more convincing than the dialogues and it makes the audiobook worth listening to.

Overall, a sexy lesbian erotica audiobook, 4 stars.

Well helloooo Autumn and Jess! What a fun, light, titillating 3.5 star read! Ms. Storm kept me *ahem* engaged throughout this wee novella. I don't think any of us can compare to Farah's review, but I will give her a shout out for her list of "tips" while reading this, some of which were very useful.

Suspend all reality, don't ask practical questions, this is fun erotica that isn't super crass.....just roll with it. Good times, looking forward to more from Ms. Storm!

5 stars. The bisexual rep. 🔥 The chemistry. 🔥 The writing. 🔥 The characters. 🔥 The smut. 🔥🔥🔥 Good grief the smut! *dabs sweat off of forehead* Everything about this book was fantastic. It’s funny, there’s no angst, has a lot of self discovery from our main character, Autumn and it’s incredibly sexy. Like, really, really sexy.

Is it realistic? Absolutely not. If some random chick I didn’t know called my phone talking like that she would’ve gotten blocked with the quickness but Jessica is everything. Ugh! My bisexual queen. She’s cocky and charming and funny and just so dreamy. I was more than a bit obsessed with her by the end of the book.

Autumn is just as amazing. Her development is really well done and seeing her fall for a woman for the first time and her inner struggles and emotions felt so real. She opens up to Jess and lets her guard down the more they grow closer together and it is just so perfect.

Overall, this was a fantastic read and I can definitely see myself re-reading it. If you’re looking for great bi-rep with characters who are cute as buttons falling in love then I’d highly recommend this. Doesn't hurt that the smut is off the charts (have I driven that fact home enough for you yet?). I'm looking forward to reading more by this author.

Gosh, what a lovely Sunday morning read. The author did a good job in making me smirk and laugh. Pure fun and fantasy but who cares. Interestingly, I felt that the author still established an emotional connection between Jessica and Autumn even though the book was meant to be more of a sexual frolic. Enjoyed very much.

This is probably one of the strangest sentences I’ve ever written, but…that was the cutest smut I think I’ve ever read.

The book centres around Autumn who is currently dating her way through a bunch of guys trying to find ‘Mr Right’. One night she received a call from an unknown number and when she answers the person on the other side starts the conversation with a very explicit and erotic greeting from a woman. Autumn is intrigued and lets the conversation develop with the mysterious caller and agrees to talk again soon. This progresses into a nightly conversation between both women but Autumn is straight so why is she letting this woman arouse her? She isn’t developing feelings, is she? Because ultimately Autumn is straight… right?

This book was just sexy and fun. It was written extremely well for a first novel and the scenes on the phone knocked my socks off… so unbelievably hot. Adding to that though was a level of intimacy I didn’t expect from a relationship blossoming through the phone, but it was there and very present in the second half of the book.

I loved the way Jess seduced Autumn. It was romantic, and you could genuinely read her feelings through the way she spoke to Jess and how (I won’t go into details) she looked after her on her birthday. It gave me all the feels.

My only fault (and it is minor) is the ending was too short for me or at least there isn’t a epilogue. It’s a selfish fault because I just wanted more of these characters together and being in love in the intense way they had built over the phone.

I really look forward to seeing what comes next from Cassidy Storm because I think she might be one to watch in Lesbian Erotic Fiction.

Do you want to play a game?

So, this was pretty much an entirely smutty book.

Sure, there was a story. But still.

I'm sorry, but there is no way I would continue to talk to some unknown caller who was as aggressive and crass. My mother taught me not to talk to strangers and that has served me well as I am still alive. I half expected Ghostface to appear with a knife. It seemed a bit creepy to me.

And how did Jessica know where Autumn lives? Autumn kept asking if she was local? How would SHE know? Maybe I missed where Autumn revealed her location...

Maybe this wasn't supposed to be so deep and I should just accept it as erotica. But I wish I would have seen more of an emotional connection. Because everything was so sex oriented, I was left feeling unaffected.

Wish I could have liked it as much as everyone else. It was just OK for me.

Really enjoyed this one... I wasnt sure when I saw the cover if it was a romance or more erotica... I was really pleased to discover it was both!.. The romance was brilliant and it was erotic, but not in that pornographic sense... the writer does a great job in leading you along with the characters as they get a little hot under the collar when their relationship begins to blossom!
Its very easy reading.. a lot of fun and worth it!

Girl Talk caught my attention with the awesome cover and blurb I read. This is my first f/f read.
From the first page I was hooked. The unknown female caller added the little something to the story. The endless string of male dates is making Autumn think she will never find someone.
The unknown caller has become her friend in more ways than she wants to admit.
Since this was my first dive into a f/f the slow way it builds was a great way to start.
It just goes to show you, love is love regardless of gender and if you find that person who makes you happy you need to let nature take its course.

I'm surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio version right before I went to bed. Didn't sleep until I finished. It was worth being a zombie at work the following day. The only reason I didn't rate this book five stars is because I wanted more. I felt like the story ended when it peaked. One more chapter and it would have been perfect. I would also like to know more about the characters. There was too much vagueness. We don't even know Jess's profession for instance. I suspect she was a doctor.

This book was so Hot! I listened to the audiobook and I was really quite surprised at the storyline for the voices that were in it at first they seemed quite young and I wasn't sure what to make of it but after the first chapter I was really invested in it and wanting to race to the end but saviour it at the same time and I gotta say hats off to the narrator her moans that chick should get an award for those alone! I think she totally cemented my decision to keep listening because her narration was totally on point with the whole book the shopping centre treats I adored it really stood out to me dunno if it was the kindness of it or the fun in something like that but Aubrey and Jessica's story is definitely one to read but to get the experience I just got I'd recommend the audio book
5 massive well deserved stars great book!

Enjoyed reading the book and can’t put it down till the very last page. A sexy read with many hot/steamy talk between the 2 girls, Autumn and Jess, throughout the book! Their ongoing banter definitely heat up your body! Only complaint is the ending - thus the rating. Would love a sequel to their story and where it takes them next.

Of course since I'd read this before I knew what to expect. It's pure fantasy :) But albeit very entertaining, lol.

But here I listened to the audiobook version. I wish I could have something nice to say about it. The voice actress has an almost valley girl accent and her flow is often stilted, stumbling past sentences. Then on the audio side of things, it was obvious that this was recorded in someone's den. The reverb was such that it was about a 20 foot space without sound proofing. Yes, I can hear that. Couple with what was obviously external household noises? I was flummoxed. Multiple instances of off level add in's and inconsistent audio levels throughout.

Listen. I'm ALL for getting as much lesfic out there tied to audio versions as possible. I've been going on and on about it for years. It's a severely underrepresented genre in audio books. But folks. Please. There are ways out there that would have minimized my astonishment and cringing throughout this audio. I spent a couple of hundred dollars in sound proofing tiles when I was in the dormitory in the Air Force. Sorted. Then actually READ the book before hand so you know what to expect so it doesn't sound like you're reading it for the first time. And for Pete's sake, if you have to edit the audio have it done by someone more competent than your cousin Jimmy.
