11 books4 followersI was born in Glasgow and I've lived in Dublin since 1981. I have been writing short stories and poetry for many years.
“Canticle,” my first novel, was a winner in the 2016 Irish Writers’ Centre/Greenbean Novel Fair and was published by Turas Press in May, 2018. It's a historical detective thriller, set in Renaissance Spain, based on the life of the Spanish mystic poet, St. John of the Cross.
Breaking News! My new collection of short stories, "What to Put in a Suitcase" will be published on October 5th, 2022.
Poetry: I have four collections of poetry: “In Flight” (Lapwing, 1996); “Snow at the Opera House” (2002, New Island); and “So Long, Calypso” (Turas Press, 2017); "Learning to Tango" (Turas Press, 2021).
In 1999, I was overall winner of the Sunday Tribune / Hennessy New Irish Writer of the Year Award for her poetry. I've had short stories and poems published in Ireland and the UK and
