The only negative thing I have to say about this, is that it is way too short!

I love this series, it is so original and packed with so much action, secrets, mysterious characters and there always a good taste of humour and romance

No matter where she goes, Amel always seems to play a big part in any situation. She has been threatened by many powerful people, asked to pledge her loyalty to many, and forced to keep secrets that could get her and her beloved dragon killed.

And now there is more at stake, Savette is mentally injured with magic, Leng is seriously hurt but sent to do more work. Amel is finding it really hard to keeping her friends safe. But after being rescued it seems that her enemies are not who she should fear.

Amel is brave and clever, she has grown so much since the beginning of this series and it seems she will continue to grow more.
I have a really soft spot for Leng, and I understand why he has to keep Amel and their growing relationship away for now. But every gesture and every touches they make, makes my heart sing!

But the one who I'll always love and respect is Raolcan, her dragon. He is wise and clever, but so sassy and funny too. I'm loving this series!

Received a copy for an honest review, thank you!

Although Amel just rescued Savette and Leng from the Dusk Covenant, with the help of a few friends, they're not in the clear just yet; in fact they are far from it. Not only could they be facing expulsion from Dragon School for going out on their own and against their Grandis' orders, one of Amel's friends' life is hanging dangerously on the line and the only thing it seems they can do is wait it out and put her care in the hands of strangers.

Amel has people on all sides of her demanding her loyalty, and once again she is put in a position where she has to pick a side. But which one should she choose? Her main priorities are keeping those she loves alive and safe, stopping the Dusk Covenant from doing any more harm and making things right with Dragon School so that she may reach her next rank, as sworn, and then hopefully to color.

Luckily, when they think theres no where left to turn, they are found by a few fellow dragon riders that just happen to know Leng. When they are taken into their hidden head quarters to heal and discuss everything, Amel learns about another secret group called the Lightbringers, but who are they really? On top of that, she meets a famously known purple dragon rider, and he offers to take her on as his apprentice. If she agrees, she would be gaurenteed sworn and might not have to worry about facing Grandis Elfar's wrath (or her strange new attitude). However, she would also be put on much more deadly missions than the average purple dragon rider would be, and there would be no backing out - ever.

Amel has a lot to think about, and some very important decisions to make. Can she stay true to herself and to those she loves, while picking a side in this (possible) upcoming war? She's the "center of the storm" and every choice she makes impacts those around her greatly - so which path will she choose?

Sworn is the fifth episode in Sarah K. L. Wilson's Dragon School serial. This is a fast paced YA fantasy story.

A LOT happens in the previous novellas, but I feel like SO much more happens in this one. I said before that The Ruby Ilses was my favorite thus far, but Sworn quickly replaced that. Amel is being pulled in all directions by people who either want her loyalty or want her dead: Dragon School, Prince Rakturan, the Lightbringers, her friends, the Dusk Covenant, Herself... But it's done in such a careful, yet exciting, way that I never felt confused by any of it. This is only the fifth novella out of twenty, but I feel like this episode really brings us deeper into the Dominion and how everything works - to the core of the story. I'm in awe of how Sarah K.L. Wilson can fit SO much in so little space and do it as smoothly as she does.

We meet a couple of new characters this time around: Ephretti and Dashira (sister dragon riders) and Hubric Duneshifter (he and his dragon Kyrowat are considered legends). We finally get to meet the Dominar, instead of always just hearing about him, too. All of these characters are interesting in their own way and they all add something more to the story. I have a good feeling we'll be getting to know them better in the next novella, and I can't wait to see what they do.

I've mentioned the romance between Amel and Leng, and how I felt it was too rushed and didn't think they fit together well. In this installment, the two of them grow closer in some ways, and while I'm still not totally sure on how I feel about them as a possible couple I'm starting to accept it more. I love that they are choosing to wait (though mostly it's because neither of them want to lose their titles, haha), and I would like to have more time seeing them interact and bond. I'm still a little mad at Leng for always treating Amel like she incapable of being a dragon rider. I loved that she confronts Leng on this in Sworn and I hope he starts seeing her in a different light.

There have been so many secrets, hidden agendas and true loalties that have come to light, but there are so many more that have popped up and are waiting to be unveiled. It's on to the next for me!

I’ve never been a big fan of serial stories, much preferring one big chucky book I can devour over the course of a couple of hours, yet when I started the Dragon School series I told myself I would be sticking with it. Unfortunately, I slipped off the wagon for a while. I managed books one through four, then slipped. A couple of months passed, but I finally made myself go back and jump into the story again. After all, I was enjoying it so much and I need to see how these things came together.

I will be honest and say going so long between the stories left me a little bit confused at first, unsure if I was remembering details correctly. This is very much a series where you get the best enjoyment through reading them as they’re released – or waiting until there are multiple stories to read and devouring them back to back. Fortunately, my confusion lasted a very short time period – it wasn’t long before I was sucked back into the story.

Each instalment of the Dragon School series brings us new information, sucking us ever deeper into the world. In Dragon School: Sworn, the world expands in the most wonderful of ways. Obviously I’m not going to give details, just know it opens up plenty more possibilities for the future of the series. The details that come to light promise lots of fun in the future, and you’ll be rapidly turning the pages to receive all the details.

Having been reminded how fun this series is, I plan not to fall off the wagon again. In fact, upon finish Dragon School: Sworn, I jumped straight into the sixth instalment, then the seventh, and then the eighth, desperate to get up to date.

Sworn was probably the most action packed book in the series so far.
So after a huge cliffhanger we find Amel was able to safety save her friends! However she might not of been fast enough to save Savette mentally from everything her kidnapper put her through. WE learn of a mysterious group called the Lightbringers which turns out Leng is a part of. The Lightbringers are a group of dragon riders that fight in secret against the Dusk Covenant. Amel knows too much about their organization to leave and must become a Lightbringer too. Hubric Duneshifter is one of the leader of the Lightbringers and also a purple dragon rider take Amel as an apprentice. While Hubris and Amel are on their way to see the Dominar they encounter the lovely Prince Rakturan (still not sure how i feel about him lol) anyways needless to say he isnt very happy with Amel after she rans way from dragon school to save Savette. Well hes back with the threats in full force threatening both Raolcan's life as well as her own if she doesnt become his spy. Hubric know what the princes wants from Amel without she saying anything and makes her swear her loyatly to him as well as the Dominar.

We also finally find out why Leng and Amel arent together ! ugh im dying here. Come to find its inappropriate for full dragon rider to have a personal relationship with trainees. So what lol she wont be a trainees for much longer lol

So a lot happens in this book. We meet new people. We have a lot more questions. I agree with Amel on not trusting people but I guess at some point you have to trust someone and hope for the best. The more answers Amel finds out, the more questions pop up. I am having so much fun reading this series and following along with Amel.

This was the most exciting installment so far. And when I was finished, I wanted to scream in frustration for not having the next book to continue. I have no idea how the author does it, making it better and better and more exciting and more action-pact and more intriguing... I love all of her series, but this one is special favourite of mine. Not just of her books but in general, in my top five of all times.
The story picks up exactly where it left off in the previous book, Amel's situation and future are quite uncertain, as she is being threatened from all sides. Interestingly enough, some of the treats become partnerships as the interests align. Savette and Leonora are back, and three of them embark on new adventures together.
A very interesting and unexpected turn of events bring Prince Rakturan in the forefront of action as the uneasy alliance with Amel forms. Amel is brought into the spotlight, as is her new mentor Hubric. Hubric is an amazing character and I can't wait to see more of him. And there is Dominar! In person. Most intriguing character of all, especially when he shows interest in Amel.
The best part of this book is not Amel's progress, as she was absolutely in perfect sync with her dragon from the first moment, but the evolution of others' perception of Amel. It is amazing to watch how everyone else went from pity, hatred, dismissal, underestimation to slowly recognising Amel's strength, value, bravery, skill, compassion, kindness, and finally giving her proper respect and acceptance that she deserves. I believe her new crutch symbolises that respect and acceptance, as does Dominar's reaction.
And of course, there is Amel's beloved Raolcan, the most amazing dragon of all, and theirs is the most amazing connection ever shared between a dragon and his rider. I often wonder how the other dragons and riders connect. Is their connection as profound as the one between Amel and Raolcan or are these two special?
This amazing series only makes sense if read in order: Dragon School: First Flight (Dragon School #1), Dragon School: Initiate (Dragon School #2), Dragon School: The Dark Prince (Dragon School #3), Dragon School: Ruby Isles (Dragon School #4), Dragon School: Sworn (Dragon School #5), Dragon School: Dusk Covenant (Dragon School #6) and more books have been announced.

Once again, Amel is underestimated and she becomes the hero. Amel does what nobody else seems to be able to do, yet everyone else believes her incapable of doing. That being said, everyone around her seems to be threatening her for answers and trying to turn her into a spy or worse. Amel isn't really sure who to trust, and she hasn't even learned to trust herself. The only one she DOES trust is her Dragon, Raolcan. Even though she's surrounded by enemies, people she's unsure of, and friends she has to keep secrets from and for, she has to rise above her physical disability and show everyone what she can bring to the table. I think, personally, that the fact that they keep overlooking her due to her disability is going to work in her favor. They seem to be convinced she can't be the one saving the day. Either that, or she's going to gain the attention from some very powerful people. Either way, she is the Hero every little girl can aspire to be. I like that she refuses to lay down and give up, no matter how hard things get. Even when given the option to go into hiding, or take what the harder path which may result in a shorter, but honorable life, she doesn't take the easy way out. Amel stands for what is right, no matter what it costs. I will always root for the underdog, especially when the underdog never gives up.

If I hadn’t been behind I probably would have a love - hate relationship with the cliffhangers in this series. Just like an episode one part of the story is finished, but ready to move on to the next part as the rest of the story is yet to be told. And it reads really well.
This book specific had a slower start for me after the action at the end of the previous book. At the same time information was welcoming but like Amel I was a little impatient with the characters who informed her. The information and especially the ending more than made up for it. I love how we slowly get to know more characters, more of the world and more of everything is going on. I love the build up, but I do miss some characters that “left” quite quickly. I really started to like some and their relationship with Amel. I do hope we will see some later on in the story again.
And now I’m struggling with the cliffhanger until I am able to continue reading again. Did I forget to say the love/hate relationships with the clifferhangers at the end is already present?

There was a lot of action in this one! Lots of things happened, new characters (I already really like Hubric, despite being grumpy, but he's straight forward, I appreciate that). I love how Amel's self secureness is growing every time. Her bad leg is for her nothing more than a (negative) trait of herself, like we all have. And partly because she doesn't see herself anymore as the crippled girl, but as the Dragon Rider who happens to have a bad leg, others tend to see her that way as well and respect her for what she is. I love it!

Poor Amel. She has so many things coming at her from so many directions and she's just trying to hold it together. She's kind of lost in this one trying to figure out how to do everything and keep herself safe. I liked how the author wrote her struggles and worry.

Finishing "Ruby Island" i just had to go on. with that dramatic ending, I needed to know.
Not that the ending of this book "Sworn" is not dramatic, it's even more.

This series is just what i love, and loving dragons as well.
And that Amel is crippled and she is doing all the things out of her good heart. she just has to help and so she is coming more into trouble.
I could say more, but others have done that.
Get it and find out, what the amazing girl, Amel is doing with her amazing dragon.

So far, this is my favourite book in the Dragon School series. I love the character development and the twists I didn’t see coming too. I hardly know who to trust even though Amel must pick someone to trust. I love the magic system in this world Wilson has created too. It is fun and extreme and unstable. It’s everything you could want in a fantasy series! Can’t wait for the next book!!!

Okay, one small complaint

I could have done without the awkward romance between Amel and Leng. Points for addressing the age difference, power imbalance, and putting it to the side, but I was enjoying a fantasy adventure.

Wow this book was just so good!! I felt like it expanded upon the world of Dragon School. I know I complained that the last book seemed convinent and moved pretty quickly, but after reading this book; I am glad it did. So many things have occured and as always that ending; wow what a cliffhanger!! I have so many questions!

I honestly do not know how to leave a decent review because my head is still spinning with all that occurred! lol. But basically, here we have learned about the lightbringers - a secret society of dragon riders whose sworn goal and mission is to fight against the Dusk Covenant. And Ling is a part of the Lightbringers. Meanwhile, the Dusk Covenant is obviously a malicious group in the shadows, who for whatever reason, seem to fight and go against the Dominion, the ruling force of the Dragon School world.

Additionally, Amel has also finally sworn before the Dominion - to be always loyal to the Dominion and her people; for the rest of her life to fight and defend this cause.

Now that ending was just whoa. There was a huge explosion that seemed to take out part of the city. And right before the Dominion, the Dusk Covenant makes their move and attacks; killing many with our heroes barely manging to escape. I found it very surprising how among his own people, the Prince of Beijang, seems to have members in the Dusk Covenant. They tried to kill him and nearly succeeded! But thanks to Raoken, he survived and flees with our group, despite his motives still being questionable since I'm not sure what his end game is. And thus, the book concludes with the Dusk Covenant aiming to take control of the city, and most likely they will succeed.

Again, I have many questions! What is the goal of the Dusk Covenant? What are they after? What do they want? Why go against the Dominion? And then there's the Prince of Beijang. What is he playing at?

I am quite excited to see what happens next!

Things are heating up and Amel is right in the thick of it! I like how we see a little of the politics going on behind the scenes and I always enjoy Amel’s interaction with Leng. Amel is now hoping to get sworn in, but it’s not like she has much of a choice. So along with that, we get more threats and spying opportunities and dare I say, a good new look at the Dark Prince. While I wasn’t sure if I liked him, I can see him growing on me and am interested in what his motives really are. I can’t wait to see what’s going on with Savette too. As always, I totally recommend this series to any young adult fantasy lovers. I love how each book is packed with non-stop action.

Dragon School: Sworn is the fifth book in the Dragon School series.

I voluntarily received and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Dragon School: Sworn sees the return of Amel and her purple dragon Raolcan. They have just managed to rescue Savette and Leng and escape the Magika who were torturing them. The danger isn’t over though as now they are being hunted, and Amel is still looking at being kicked out of Dragon School. But Amel is about to learn some secrets of things that have been going on. Amel meets some friends of Leng who help them out. Savette is broken in ways that will take time to heal, but there is more to her now. When she touched the magic, it affected her and has potentially changed her as well. Now, the possibility of her being a danger to herself and others is all too real. Amel now has to worry about her friend, her feelings for Leng, and will soon meet a legend among the dragon riders.
Dragon School: Sworn is book five in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon School series. True to form this book keeps you engaged from start to finish. I love that this story picks up right where Ruby Isles ended. This book introduces us to new characters, new secrets, and even some unforeseen dangers. Amel has got her work cut out for her, but she will have help taking on the challenges that lie ahead. I like how the story continues to develop and evolve with each book.
There isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. Amel continues to develop as a character, and I like that we get to see the romance develop further. Though I have to say the twist concerning the romance is unexpected, but interesting.
I am rating this book 5 out of 5 stars. If you have read the first four books in this series, then I highly recommend you pick this book up and read it. I look forward to reading the next book in this series and continuing the journey with Amel in her quest to save those she cares about and become a full fledged Dragon Rider.

Aaaaah! I really never knew that books could have the exact same effect as some of my favorite series have on me! But, these books, this series, it totally has it. Part after part it keeps on delivering. It keeps on expanding the rich world. It keeps on expanding on the politics. It keeps on introducing new amazing and exciting characters and more and more layers.

My love for Raolcan and Amel is endless. I've given them a huge place in my heart and it seems they're not gonna leave any time soon. Raolcan is funny, smart, caring and loyal. Amel is more and more become the person she can be, even though she's stuck in the middle of situations and worlds where she shouldn't have been and where she didn't want to be.

And part after part this book keeps on proving how great it is when it comes to disability representation. I love it how the writer is so aware of the impact Amel's disability on her life. I love how she comes up with all those small details and I'm so excited that we really get the chance to see her grow into a hero, but without forgetting that she is crippled and has trouble walking.

What I also really loved in this part is that Amel is not all of a sudden a great fighter. We got the promise that she will be taught how to fight, but she couldn't just do it. I can't wait to see how awesome Amel will be once she has learned how to master a sword. To me she already is a hero. I hope she can prove her world that she is one too!

I can't wait for March 12th!

The novel picks up from the cliffhanger of it's previous novel in the series, where we get to know that Amel has succeeded in saving Leng and Savette from the Magikas with the help of her friend Lenora and her trusted purple dragon Raolcan. Leng and Savette are injured badly and Savette is going through a mental trauma. Amel tries to take care of both of them as much as she can.
Amel is also taken under the supervision of Hubric Duneshifter, an old and respected purple dragon rider. Amel is presented in front of the Dominar to be promoted as 'Sworn' where Prince Rakturan of Baojang gives her the duty to spy on the Dominar and the traitors of Baojang Initiate an attack on the palace where the ceremony is taking place.
Honestly, this series is getting better amd better with each upcoming book. And did I mention how beautiful the book cover is!😍 The cover is just outstanding and it draws a lot of attention to the book. And finally my curiosity about Leng and Amel's relationship is answered. I wish Amel becomes a full dragon rider soon so that she can be in a relationship with Leng. Ahh! I ship them both❤ I really enjoyed this novel, so much that I read it in one day. Can't wait to read the next novel.❤

Amel and Leng are safe for the moment, after having rescued Savette. Leng is receiving treatment for his burns from the Magika, and Savette is in shock from her recent tortures and traumas. Leng and Amel are developing feelings for each other, but Leng warns Amel that it is improper for them to form a relationship since she is so far below him in training. His words hold hope that, in time, they will be able to grow closer.
2 secret societies are brought to light in this episode: one dark and one light; one good and one bad. Amel has fallen into the presence of the good society by virtue of being with Leng. Again, her advancement is hastened in this episode, with her being sworn- to her new mentor and two the ruler of the Dominion. Her Dragon, Raolcan, warns her Savette is in a bad way and she is needed. This occurs just as she is being taken before the ruler for the swearing in, which barely is completed before dramatic events occur. We are left with yet another dramatic save by Raolcan and friends of Amel, her new mentor and some of the others of the good society. Does Savette get saved yet again? Do the dragons also help the Dark Prince? Does the ruler of the Dominion safely escape as well? Once again, this episode ends with us hungering for MORE!

The fifth installment in this bite sized series, and I have to say that this was by far the best so far. It's thin on the grounds in terms of action, but the world building begins to play more of a part here and some of the aspects which have been held just out of reach are beginning to come to light.

I also felt that the side characters were far stronger here, with more time spent on them. This was true both for characters we have seen previously and for new characters like Hubric, who I suspect we are going to see a lot more of.

When the action comes, it comes with a bang and I really did feel like this was a far better balance of interesting world building and some climatic final action scenes. I was slightly disappointed that the first omnibus finished on the same cliff-hanger endings as all of the previous installments, but I admit I actively enjoyed this one.

My usual qualifier stands though; if you have Kindle Unlimited and like short, bite sized fiction then this is worth looking into. If you don't have KU though, it's an expensive way to get your fix.

This episode feels like being on a fun fair. Up and down on a rollercoaster, not knowing who is who like wandering through a house of mirrors. Amel meets a lot of new people and hopefully they stick around. But can she trust them? Can she trust anybody? And everybody seems to want to use her for his/her own objectives. Will Amel follow her instincts and heart?
There is so much going on and a huge political plot boiling up but the story so far was so action loaded that there was never a minute to catch a breath and find out more about the dragons and Raoclan. I would really like to know more about the history of the Dominion.
But for now, I hope Amel and Raoclan stay safe and they can save themselves and their friends... and maybe find a minute to take a breath and get some more background information.

I received an ARC of this. I have been a huge fan since book 1! And now with book 5 the story is even more addicting. Never a dull moment! Lots of action and changes happening. And yet through it all Amel keeps on getting stronger and her spirit of never giving up always shines through. I absolutely adore adore her dragon Raolcan. He makes this story worth reading even more so. I never like to post any spoilers. Books are meant to be read and enjoyed and for each to find out what happens. I believe that is the best way. I can’t recommend enough how much this series is so awesome! Things are getting even more interesting and so much has happened. I can’t wait to find out what happens next in Amel’s journey.

Danger, Excitement and Adventure Follow Each other Page after Page

Even though I still do not like the idea of selling these short chapters as a book, I just admit I've gone from one short novella to another. Ms. Wilson has a descriptive but easy to read style that has all the attributes of a well written novel, easily bringing images of this fantastical land and its people's to mind. The main characters take on a life of their own, as mystery and intrigue slowly come unraveled, making one identify with these courageous Dragon riders. This series is suitable even for teenagers and adults, keeping one turning the pages for more and more.

Even more intrigue and even more excitement! I really am enjoying these books. Sworn starts right back up where the last one ended and we find out what happens after Amel took that leap through the floor. Some new characters are introduced and I think these may be ones that stay around for a while. The only problem is, just like Amel, I'm not sure who to trust. Raolcan is still my favourite, I love his relationship with Amel and I wish I had my very own dragon just like him! Am looking forward to reading the next part of this series as it really is exciting.

I binge read books 2 - 6 in one day this weekend. I am hooked on this series and the fact that there are dragons is a super plus for me. The characters are all entertaining, even the ones that don't last long in the books. The romance is slight but I really didn't mind. The action and Amel's relationship with her dragon, Raolcan, makes up for it. Love reading about the dragons and their types along with their riders - who are just as unique. The whole series is a five star for me so far. I received an ebook at no charge for which I voluntarily provided an honest review.

Outstanding fantasy read! The serials read more like long chapters. Think Harry Potter does Dragon School without spells. Move over J.K. Rowling, this is absolutely the best thing I've read from Sarah K.L. Wilson and she’s a darn good author! Yeah, it's that good! A very quick read that you can't wait to get to the end of the page so you can turn the page and get to the end of the page so you can turn the page and get to the next book, you get the picture. I can’t wait to read the next book, I've gotten behind so it's my next read!

Sworn, the fifth novel in the Dragon School series is yet again an action-packed novel that captivated me from start to finish.

Nothing about her training in Dragon School is easy for Amel. Her class was fastforwarded into action, with only a week of learning some basics. After her initiation she and all her classmates are assigned basic training in the field. Again, trouble finds it’s way to Amel and her purple dragon Raolcan. They are betrayed by their classmates and the magica’s that came alonge to help them.

In Sworn all the tension that has been building up comes to a conclusion!

This book had a strong sense of Game of Thrones to me, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Some of the secondary characters have kind of dropped off the map, which makes me wonder if they’ll be coming back, or if they were just passing through. Noone major is missing though, so it’s not a big loss. A lot of chess pieces are moving around which makes me wonder about the long-game. Which details are essential and which are just a part of the setting? It adds to the mystery and intrigue to keep you reading.

Awesome

Sarah Wilson is a master storyteller. As the Dragon School series continues, the author keeps the story fresh, exciting and fun. Amel and Raolcan seem to get into one mess after another but miraculously get out of it. Other characters I enjoy are Leng and Savette. In this book we are introduced to some new characters, some good, some very bad. This book was fun reading and I can't wait for book six!

Action, danger, mystery and excitement are jam packed in this awesome adventure that just keeps getting better with each episode. Loving the thrills and chills of this fight to save a magical world filled with intriguing and engaging charters. Two factions of people set against each other with no clear lines of who is really who and our Amel smack dab in the middle of it all. Looking forward to more of these short but action packed stories.
