Alicia Roper has worked in the general store at River's End Ranch for a long time now, and she's seen it all - romances, weddings, daring search and rescue missions - and she's not surprised by anything anymore. Well, until someone from her past shows up on the candy aisle of her store one day, someone she never thought she'd see again.
Oz Burton has taken any number of odd jobs over the last several years in a search to keep himself busy. He doesn't like tying himself down to any one place too long. Seeing Alicia again just might be enough to make him change his mind, but there's a pretty big obstacle standing in their way, and it will take the love of a family to see them through. Of course, add a little rabbit into the mix, and you never know what will happen, especially so close to Valentine's Day ...
Amelia C. Adams is a wife, a mother, and a novelist. She spends her days dreaming up stories and her nights writing them down. Her biggest hero is her husband, and you might just see bits and pieces of him as you read her novels.
She loves all things historical and enjoys learning about days gone by, but she's glad she was born more recently (she won't say how recently or not recently) because the Internet is awesome, and she's glad she doesn't have to wash her clothes by hand in a galvanized tub. She has hit Amazon bestseller status twice, once for A Clean Slate and once for A Clear Hope.
I loved how some of the story took place in a flower shop, I was a florist for over 35 years. Great job Amelia Adams! All of your floral part of the story wasn100% accurate. The story is cute. I loved the characters!
Hero: Oz/ florist delivery - Heroine: Alicia / works at the general store 4.5* : I enjoyed reading this absolutely adorable story that grabbed me and would not let go until the end. The story progressed steadily, has well developed characters with witty/humorous dialogue and a fun developing plot. Jaclyn and oz's conversation and his retelling it to Alicia had me laughing out loud. This story has a very happy and satisfying HEA!
Candy Crush is another charming, enjoyable, lighthearted addition to the River’s End Ranch series, although this time with a slightly more serious undertone. The choices we make in life matter, not only to ourselves but to those around us – even strangers. This is something that the people in this story will discover along the way of falling in love.
Oz and Alicia each had super crushes on each other back when her sister was engaged to his brother. They were awkward teenagers then, neither ever let on how they felt, and one brother’s actions changed everything for everyone. When their siblings broke up, in a rather nasty way, Oz and Alicia lost touch for one family’s anger was very fierce against all members of the other’s. Time passed until they each found themselves working at River’s End Ranch – and what was meant to be would find a way.
I enjoyed this couple very much. Life moves on, and when we know the truth about something important, life can also change. Loved the introduction of one very special rabbit. And, hopefully, something good – like maybe a future romance – can come out of one man’s careless actions, time will tell. I had fun with Candy Crush and would definitely recommend it for any Contemporary Romance reader who loves a good, solid romance with believable characters.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I absolutely fell in love with Oz's character he was so amusingly funny charming charismatic romantic caring considerate you name it Oz had it, and Amelia made me fall completely in love with him. Alicia wants things to go slowly and Oz agrees but sometimes life never goes to plan. I am not giving any spoilers away but this Rivers End Ranch Series I am into, its a contemporary western and I normally read historical western but this series just pulls you in and once you read one you will want to read the other character stories believe me I am addicted.
This is as sweet a romance as can be found. Not too sweet, but just sweet enough. And Amelia Adams has written in the best definition of marriage i have ever seen in fiction. It's all about choices. Not just marriage, the book itself. Loved reading it.
I'm delighted to see a Jewish character has finally made it to River's End Ranch. Maybe someday it might be a person. Wouldn't that be nice?
Thanks for a lovely evening in my fictional second home.
This was not my favorite of the River’s End Ranch series. It was cute, and I loved Herschel the rabbit. But the story happened so quickly, for someone to have held a anger/distrust for someone as long as five years to be totally over after one dinner was a bit far fetched. As always I do love Jaclyn and all her matchmaking and common sense. This is still however my favorite book series for reading when I am down as they stories are always full of sunshine and possibilities.
Alicia & Oz When Oz runs into – literally runs into her and sends her and candy flying - the girl he has had a crush on since high school, Will he be able to finally find out why she dumped in high school? Jerk brother shows up and is not at all sorry for the pain and trouble he causes in the past, resulting in an accident seriously hurting her friend, is there any chance at resolving the past? LUV THIS BOOK
What isn't to love with Valentines and a bunny. This book is funny, sweet, and just such a feel good story. But it also has difficult relationship issues and words of wisdom mixed in. I love the humour between the main characters. The fairies and Jaclyn are busy here.
Oz and Alicia fell out of friendship when Oz's brother cheated on Alicia's sister. As fate would have it, they both end up working at River's End. Discovering that there was still a special bond topped off with a Jewish bunny from Jocelin leads to another successful match.
This story covered many areas we encounter as life unfolds. The story ended too soon. Did the brother heal, mature and become a better person? Did the costume designer heal and continue working? How did the movie work out for the ranch? I see more books written with some of the new characters in this story
Loved the story, just wish it was longer. It ended way too soon. I will look forward to reading the next book in the series. Thank you Amelia C. Adams for another entertaining book!
I really enjoy the RER books, each and every one. I anxiously look forward to the next one. The ranch would be a wonderful place to live. In the stories it is a great place for love.
This is a great story with amazing and adorable characters and heartwarming moments that will touch your soul and teach you about love and forgiveness too.
Well I'm shocked at the faries telling Jaclyn to give hershel to oz , But was it was meant to be. Like your 1st crust and 5 yrs later your living in the same place.you work things out and rediscover each other
Alicia Roped and Oz Burton knew each other years ago. They lost touch due to a misunderstanding. They are reunited at River's End Ranch. Add little Herschel a bunny Jacqlyn have to Oz and much fun ensues!
This was a really sweet story with a lot of fun characters. I like the chemistry between the two main characters and how they took care of each other and even a very Troubled brother. This was a sweet, clean romance.
Alicia and Oz were friends five years ago. When they ran into each other in the general store, old feelings both good and bad popped up. Could they become friends again? Would it work out this time? It was a quick, fun read to find out.
Amelia Adams writes a charming love story including rabbits and fairies. I love that Alicia and Oz’ story is creative and romantic without being overly sweet as the title alludes, though there is a sweet tie in. I can’t wait to read more of this series!
Not a thrilling romance. There was little to no chemistry between the H and h. Miles of narrative, very little conversation. Billed as a romantic comedy, but to me, it was neither romantic, nor a comedy. Not a favorite for me.
What a fantastic story. Could not put this book down. Lots of great life lessons and lots of laughs. Thanks for a great story. Can’t wait for the next book.
What a sweet book. I loved it. Oz and Alicia were both fantastic characters. Sweet, charming and just two people you could see yourself being friends with.
Really nice addition to the series. I have enjoyed all of them. Can not really say I have a favorite. Nice flow to the stories. You can relate that this is a community of people connected but seperate too.
