One Part Witch #5

The Witch's Bones

Rate this book
Martine Cadet waited for many years with baited breath, for a bone marrow transplant. Then she waited with a cane. Then she waited with a walker. Now that she’s in a wheelchair, she knows better than to wait. She’s reconciled to living as a hermit, confined to her home, with her computer serving as her closest companion, as well as partner in crime – she has become quite a talented hacker!

In life, Lilith Hazelwood was the most powerful witch in Oyster Cove. In death, she is determined to find and punish her murderer. Once enraged by the fact that her body parts had been used for organ transplant, she now sees the beneficiaries as the best means of avenging her own death. If they would only stop being sidetracked by silly diversions like solving human murders and finding love.

The witch’s bones provide a miraculous match with Martine’s bone marrow. But the changes will far exceed regaining the use of her legs. Lilith’s talents for clairvoyance now give Martine a clear window into future events that she’s not so sure she wants. Especially when that future involves murder. What will prove to be worse – the frustration of being thought a nutcase or the DANGER of being believed?

*** Pre-order is for March 10th. But The Witch's Bones may be ready as early as Feb. 25!

If Iris Kincaid had magical powers, she would never abuse them at the poker table. Or ever change international flight prices to get cheap seats. And under no circumstances that she can think of right now, would she ever cast an inappropriate love spell. But she’s not inflexible. And these moral principles may be revisited at some future date.

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It has earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

"The Witch's Bones" is the fifth book in the "One Part Witch" series by Iris Kincaid. Martine has unique genetic makeup that has prevented her from getting a much-needed bone marrow transplant. As a result, she's stayed in her apartment for the last two years. Her luck changes when she receives a bone marrow transplant from Lilith Hazelwood. Now she's able to see into the future. Will it be enough to save the people that matter most to her, or will she become another Cassandra?
Overall, I enjoyed reading this novel. It was a great addition to the series.

I love this series and hope it last a long time. But just how many body parts does Lilith have left?
Martine Cadet is in a wheelchair and getting weaker and weaker every day. Then along comes the Doc with a chance at a bone marrow transplant. and we have another witch.
Martine can see the future. When someone overhears her talking about seeing the future she's sent to a shrink to get her head examined. If they only knew.
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyable

I have been sailing through this series (well through each book as I pick it up) and enjoy them a lot. Each one is interesting in its differences and I like to see previous recipients of "witch parts" in the books but also wish they showed a little bit more interaction between them.
Kind of hoped for a witch's hearing as a companion to Witch's voice but... maybe it will happen as I'm not sure is series is completely written as I've looked at future titles but not the synopsis.
Certainly curious how the witch's strength is transferred so I must keep reading.

Martine was subjected to a tremendous amount of pain while growing up and eventually isolated herself from the world. Morgan tried forging his own career path separate from the family business, while still being near family. When their paths crossed, love and hilarity abound. I laughed when Martine had to prove to Dr. York that she wasn't crazy. Lilith is finally getting some answers even if they aren't what she expected.

Just finished Iris Kincaid's 5th book and anxiously awaiting her 6th! Would love to see more from this author! I love her creative personal insights that she works into the light hearted cozy mysteries.
The colorful covers make me almost wish I wasn't reading them on the Kindle App.
Would like to see Iris have a website and social media so people will have a way to share her work via other outlets!

no bones about this

She has a future to work towards and never really knew if she wanted a future. In order to really to look forward to that she needs a bone marrow transplant. I guess the words should be careful what you wish for. She seemed to make many sacrifices for people and I guess she was prepared with this new gift.

These silly books are growing on me! I don't usually do cozy books, and these are VERY cozy, but so much fun! Just light, and silly and FUN. The very definition of an easy read.

Quick read

Quick read, not as amusing as the previous ones but still good enough for a quick afternoon reading session. On to the next!
