She doesn't need anyone. He's not going to let her go.
Eris Vance, salvager and loner, is happy with her life in the remote fringes of the Empire with just her AI for company. An abandoned ship could be the find of a lifetime, but it's not nearly as empty as she thinks. And the hulking man left behind kindles a heat she's never felt. But will he stay through the coming storm?
Connor is the perfect soldier - He's been made that way. Waking up to the destruction of the world he knew disturbs him almost as much as the gorgeous woman who found him. Her scent, her touch distracts him, and just this once, maybe he doesn't care.
The Daedelus is filled with secrets and the results of genetic experiments to breed the perfect soldier... and now that she's awakened him, the mystery of its destruction will hunt them both. Can the growing bond between them survive?
Bonded is the second science fiction romance novel in The Star Breed series. No cliffhangers, HEA guaranteed!
Just like the first book, I was disappointed at how quickly Eris was willing to jump into bed with Connor. No chase and she knew nothing about the guy. And, just like the first book, an interruption prevented her from going all the way. I did like that she didn't let him boss her around. Am going to jump to a couple books on my tbr list but will probably come back and give next book a try

This story was only okay for me. I enjoyed it enough, but not enough to say I liked it. I can't exactly say why either because there were a lot of interesting things going on here. I just never really got all that into it.
I knew going into this that it was book 2 of a series. Usually, even with stand alone books in a series, I find myself thinking things would have been clearer if I read the previous ones. But with this one, that was not the case. Nothing that I could tell was truly linked to the first book so that it had me wondering what had happened then. So that was good.
Eris is a true loner. She has no desire to be around people at all and only needs the companionship of her ship's AI. She makes a living by scavenging ship wrecks and taking anything useful or worth something. She's gone a little farther out than most do and thinks she might have found a good payday in a huge ship she finds that has obviously been in a fight and lost. What she wasn't expecting was to still find somebody alive.
Connor is a pretty much a scientific lab experiment. The one that created him (and his "brothers") mixed different DNA to make them. Questionable in legality and morality, but she actually wasn't a crazy mad scientist type. She just wanted to do what she was passionate about. She even promised a rebel group an army of these men just for funding. Though she never planned to deliver. Connor was in stasis healing when the ship was attacked and his brothers all fled. And when he's awoken by Eris he's understandably angry and confused.
I really liked how Eris decided to help Connor despite not having to and the danger to herself by doing so. Immediately these two but heads, so it was very jarring when all of a sudden they only care about the safety of the other and wanting to be by their side. I didn't so much mind that, but the speed was too unbelievable.
When Connor's ship is attacked by hunters, they have no choice but to flee in Eris's. Despite her best efforts, they're followed and shot down onto a planet. A planet that has seemingly one colony, an array of creatures that can rip them apart, and is frozen snowy hell. Let's just say that Eris is not happy. Fortunately for these two, they crashed close enough to the colony for people to find them and help them. This colony has its own secrets and a bad guy in their midst (which was sooooooo easy to figure out) which drums up the action. And when one of his plans fails, he tries for another. This time Eris in the one in danger and Connor will destroy anyone in his way of protecting her. The ending was rather predictable, but that didn't bother me here because it worked for this story.
I don't have any of the other books in the series right now, and I'm not sure I ever will. I suppose if they're free like this one was, I would consider buying it. I didn't love this one, but it wasn't bad. Plus I am curious about his other brothers.
Hot love, heart-pumping action, and a great series
WOW! The mystery deepens in Bonded, Elin Wyn's second novel in her Star Breed series. The rogue genetic lab ship, Daedalus, is destroyed, the mysterious Head scientist is dead, and the secret supermen she has created have escaped to ? Only Connor is left, stuck in a stasis pod, until salvager Eris and her AI Nixie inadvertently free him. Eris is ticked, because now space law obliges her to rescue him and abandon her salvage claim. Connor is disoriented, puzzled, and smitten with Eris. Iris finds him attractive, but isn't looking to change her freewheeling space vagabond lifestyle. But something - someone - is hunting the Daedalus' survivors, and when an attack grounds Eris and Connor on a remote, sparsely settled ice planet, they form a bond and a partnership destined for HEA - if they can survive beast attacks, kidnapping, betrayal, a never-ending communications blackout, and the loss of Nixie the AI. Eris is as bright as she is tough, qualities that endear her to Connor and the reader as well. Connor is a little more hard to characterize - which works for a male who was made, not born, and isn't exactly totally human. Crazy action and adventure, steamy romance and danger, quick fists and quicker wits pop off the pages and rev the readers heart rate - superb entertainment!

I enjoyed this story which had a great mixture of drama, passion, betrayal, triumph and ended with hope. It was great to get a bit more information on the star breed and understand a bit more about what happened to them and why. Just like a whodunit I definitely want to read the next story to unpick the details a bit more. Easy to read and understand. Contains some sexual content.
Standalone with HEA. More story than smut, despite what the cover art might lead you to think.
Totally different story and totally different characters than book one. Starts off in space, then boom crash, and they end up in an isolated, planetside mining settlement. Both leads were sweet and thoughtful and highly ethical.
There is a bit of instalust and the falling in love might strike some readers as too convenient and too fast, but the characters did have some time to develop awareness and appreciation for each other before falling in bed together. The kissing scenes are more numerous and graphic than the sex scenes.
CW: violence, including self-defense violence against predatory animals and a child in danger, suggestion of possible past CSA
This series is amazing. I think I enjoyed book 2 more than book 1 & that is saying something. If this standard is maintained throughout the series then it will be incredible. Eris & Connor are fantastic, both individually & as a couple. They face danger after danger & yet remain dedicated to their mission & each throughout it all. Connor about melted my heart - funny, brave, protective & smoking hot he is pretty much every woman's fantasy. Eris is incredibly brave, despite her phobia she does what needs to be done to survive and thrive & I loved how being with Connor softened her but also gave her extra strength.
Wow! There is so much going on in this series, I love it. The characters have such strong personalities you almost feel like you know them. The world building was interesting and the action is just enough to keep me turning pages. I thought Eris and her AI Nixie were quite a funny pair and adding Connor to the mix was just what Eris needed. He was so understanding and protective. I love the whole idea of Connor’s pack each finding acceptance and love. I look forward to the next book.
I just love elin Wyn's writing I have listened to a lot of her books and the first in this series. lots of action and a great strong h. she was gritty as well as feminine, smart and rather soft. the plotline was interesting and well paced. book 1 was a little more involved than this one but I enjoyed the story as it all came together. a bit of romance a bit of steam and an alpha H. it was a great scifi read. thanks Elin I've listened to Beth and Noel before, just so enjoy their narration
This book, the second in the series, is just as excellent as the first. The plots are well developed and the characters are outstanding. These books can be read as a stand alone, but they are developing a common theme and, in my opinion, are more enjoyable if read in order. If you like adventure, romance, remarkable characters, and books that you don't want to stop reading, then you will enjoy this series.
These men are addicting. Genetically modified they are running from a dark enemy and trying to piece together what happened to their ship. Along the way they encounter unusual women. I am enjoying these stories. The mystery of their origins and why they are being hunted is a great plot along with the easy going romances.
Even though Eris is totally human she kicks a$$. She and her ship AI are underestimated by everyone. Connor is an enigma, an experiment, but his heart is all human. When Hunters show up coming after Connor and his ship they form an uneasy alliance, and have an action packed adventure with a slow simmering romance.
Really loved Eris & Connor's connection right from the start. She is a real woman with real issues but nothing can scare him away from the fiesty Mechanic with the smart mouthed AI she designed to be her companion in space. See how they survive a hunter attack and a crash landing on a snow planet. DanaLynn
Unique story and premise. Easy to read and enjoyed to the last page.
This is the first book I have read by this author, but it won't be the last. She has a very direct, easy to read method to her writing. Loved the characters and the plot. Fun and entertaining!
Eris and Connor were a great couple and I loved how they worked out perfectly. The plot line thickens and the world building was outstanding. I would recommend this book. Now on to read the next in this series.
Eris and her AI work alone hunting salvage in space. They happen upon a huge derelict ship, turns out it isn’t completely empty. Someone has been left in a stasis tube.
Love the story and the couple. Hope we meet them again in future Star Breed books.
She's a salvager and what she finds is a man unlike any other. With her A1 they manage to escape capture only to crash on a icy planet. This is just the beginning of their story in this book. Read to find out more...
This is the 3rd book I've read, by Ms Wyn. Her world building is excellent: I am caught up in each story, her descriptions of places, people and events are vivid. Brava, Elin
What a fascinating story! Light and fun at times, not and sexy at other times, and lots of action to keep you guessing. I loved that little AI she could have a book to herself!
Second book in a series that is more than just bulging muscles and spaceships. Ms. Wyn gives us likeable characters with imperfections that don't give up. I am curious to read more of this series.
This series is getting good, I wasn’t sure how the author was going to be able to interconnect the storylines so far without using the same plot but they are making it happen and kudos to them. Off to the next one.
The characters throughout this book will drawn you into their story and take you on twist and turns throughout their story until you are setting on the edge of your seat.
This is a really good sci-fi romance. If it was a movie, no one would call it a chick flick as the adventure is to well developed. Worth missing sleep over.
Eris and Connor had quite a first meeting (yeesh) but not long after things straightened out (sort of). Landing on an ice planet didn't help but that's when the story gets really good!
All the elements of a good romance were there, but the execution was dull to me. I almost didn't finish it at 80%, so I skimmed to the last battle scene. It was an acceptable way to pass the time, but I'm looking for more pizzaz.
Predictable, in that the author basically bludgeoned us over the head with the clues to who was the bad guy. But the other element was an interesting twist. I hope I see this couple in future books.
The characters in this story are even better than the first. A few more hints to the backstory of the series but a whole new world and issues than the first.
