I live in my past because the future doesn’t exist for me, not anymore.
So, I chose to embrace my past and build a life around it,
creating a new regime along the way.

I think I saw the author promote the book somewhere and I added it to my TBR.

She pretends there's no future yet she can hear it scream 'future' and it looks like glitter?? what? What did she decide? Is she planning a coup or is she just talking about exercise?
I can barely read... whatever those words are supposed to mean. My guess is the book would be even worse...

Since I have offically dubbed Rion as Cutie, Zach is now Snuggles.
I'll say is again since I said it about book one:
If you're looking for spice, instant connection, and a fast pace story. This is not for you. (Yes, the book pace does pick up half way through, but it's still well paced and keeps the plot going nicely.)
This story is the definition of enemies-to-loves. They HATE each other, until that hate turns into something else. And that something else slowly evolves their relationship and chemistry as they interact and work together.
Nita is very headstrong in my opinion, and loves rebelling against rules. (You see this right off the bat in chapter one).
Zach is very...in what word I can put to him...poetic. (Don't judge me. If you compare Zach to Rion, Zach is the more implusive one, but man can sure melt the panties off someone.)
The way I devoured this book...🫦🫦🫦...welp I'm off to Kain now!
Highly recommend to anyone looking for thick book with tons of plot and character development.

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review.
The story is totally different from my usual romance reads but I loved every second of it. There was a lot of anticipation and building up to moments which kept the story enticing, even though I did get a little confused on the plot at times which cleared up quickly.
Zach and Nita meet under very strange circumstances and from that point forward the story is a rollercoaster. It starts with quite the slow burn but coming toward the middle things start to heat up.
With how difficult of a scenario they are both faced to be in and many other issues circulating around them and their lives, it doesn't help the hateful relationship they form.
As they progress spending more and more time together their hate turns into something a lot more lustful and there is no denying in the chemistry between them.
It's a great read, was very enticing and if you've read the first book you will see characters making appearances, other than that it is a great standalone mafia romance read!

K. R. Ruth continued the Immortal Mackay's series with Zach and Nita's heated romance.
I couldn't put this book down until I was on the very last page. With a slow simmering hatred transforming into an undying love. You'll be wishing you had your very own Zach to rollercoaster through life with. Though with an imperfect encounter things grew and morphed into an experience neither ever saw coming.
Jump into the world of the Mackay's and allow yourself to fall in love with the complicated world they come from. The mafia isn't an easy world to live in but with these sexy characters you'll be craving the idea for yourself! With all the twists and turns you'll find yourself in your enchanted until the book is over!

This is such a great read. I highly recommend reading this series. The first book is such a great intro to this world and Zach is even better in my opinion. I can’t wait for more from this series.
