A short story from the UK's worst-behaved city, Ordshaw.
She wants to ask for directions.
He doesn't.
The argument goes too far.
The Wrong Way uses rich imagination, dark humour and a touch of horror to explore a scenario that's been troubling long-term relationships for time immortal./i>

As a long-term teacher and tutor of advanced English, he runs the popular website “English Lessons Brighton”.
Phil lives with his wife by the coast in Sussex, UK, and spends a great deal of time walking his impossibly fluffy dog, Herbert.
Such a fascinating short with this background air of horror that adds some interesting spice. A couple out on the road are having the age old fight of stopping to ask for directions. The directions they get don't work out and the end location may result in death and dismemberment, or may result in some fear and discomfort.......we don't really know. That doesn't stop the story from ending on one last note of married snark. The only thing we do know for sure is they definitely went the wrong way.
Even though this is a very short story, it could easily be made into a full length novel or even the start of it's own series. I could not imagine what was going to happen in my wildest dreams. The author is not only a fabulous author who has created a fantastic story he is also an artist as the descriptions for some of the characters are truly remarkable!! Definitely a hit with me.
A couple in need of directions get more than they bargained for.
Amusing how familiar the main couple are. An odd little intro into... something. There's an unusual urban fantasy with humour and a very British tinge being hinted at, though as a teaser I'm not sure quite what to expect.
-I recieved a free copy of this short story in a giveaway-
He refuses to ask for directions and when he does because she demands it where they end up is simply beyond description and even on the fate of death neither will agree to be wrong. Quite amusing, really short quick read!
Very short (obviously... ) but nonetheless realistic story, even if the landscape is unusual... Most readers will recognise the two characters and if homest will admit to being one or the other.
Well then that certainly took an unexpected turn. Especially the stubborn need for being right that is honestly accurate, even faced with not so tiny dillema.
Women always win... well most of the time. Sometimes you need to put your foot down in more ways than one. A great little tale with a dark secret. A must read for all.
This is a very short story, but it has everything it needs. It is like a mini thriller. Suspense, arguments, and can still throw in a tiny laugh at the end.
