Kristen Banet has a Diet Coke problem and smokes too much. She curses like a sailor (though, she used to be one, so she uses that as an excuse) and finds that many people don’t know how to handle that. She loves to read, and before finally sitting to try her hand at writing, she had your normal kind of work history. From tattoo parlors, to the U.S. Navy, and freelance illustration, she’s stumbled through her adult years and somehow, is still kicking.
She loves to read books that make people cry. She likes to write books that make people cry (and she wants to hear about it). She’s a firm believer that nothing and no one in this world is perfect, and she enjoys exploring those imperfections—trying to make the characters seem real on the page and not just in her head.
She might just be crazy, though. Her characters think so, but this can’t be confirmed.

Ok. Here's the thing. I have no idea what to write in this review. I've been pondering it for a while, and it's just a complex thing and I have no idea what to say. So I'm just going to start writing.

As a culmination of a trilogy, I'm not sure I've read better. The characters reacted and grew consistently throughout the series. You see their relationship form, personal challenges dealt with, and surprises that challenge everything. The world starts off tiny, hints of how big it could be, and by book 3, we see how big and encompassing it is.

I'm not sure I can do it justice, so I'll just say this is the perfect ending to a great series. I started off really wondering how I felt about Riley, how I felt about the boys. Everyone started pretty 2-dimensional because we didn't know them yet. By the end of the third book, they were more real than some people I've known for years. I could imagine their reactions and the resolution made me cry happy tears because it was beautiful.

Not everyone is going to like every series. But please give this one a try. It's evolving and encompassing and went from "this is a pretty good book" to "holy crap this might be one of my favorite series and my heart is full and what the hell do I even say." Leaving it there because even a month later, I still don't know how to review this. Because it's not the book. It's the series. There's no reviewing this book without taking the rest of the series into account, not for me at least. Maybe other people will be more descriptive, more book-specific. But I can't. And I hope whoever is reading this has the same experience because it's beautiful and special.

AHH this book, i have no words.
The ending was so satisfying, perfekt and beautiful! I really felt with all of them when they where hurting the most, i got scared in a moment that one or two of them would die

But i had wanted Riley to get a baby at the end even tho i know she wanted a kid after like 5 years from now one. It could have been an epilouge with that or something xD

Well. Damn.
I have no idea how I'm supposed to sum this one up and to put all of my raging emotions into words.
At first, the Pride faced a few petty tricks from other shifters, that seemed like nothing more than a nuisance, a way for other prides to be annoying. But it all escalated pretty damn quick and blew out of fucking proportions. And all I wanted in those moments was for the guys to fucking obliterated their enemies. They thought the Kingson pride was weak? Boy, they were in for a rude fucking awakening, that's for damn sure.
“this is survival of the fittest and it’s time for you to reclaim your spot at the top of the food chain.”

You thought you knew these characters pretty well, right? Well, think again. Because even the sweetest members of the Kingson Pride have a vicious, violent streak the likes of which you did not, could not expect. And even the most strong and controlled of them could be vulnerable and break down when you least expected them to.
“We are, at our most basic level, the animal inside of us, not the human skin we wear”
The last book shows us a new side of every character in the story and I loved it. I damn well relished in what I read.
Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up the story. And while I'm sad that it's over, I had a fantastic time reading these books.

Oy.

I'm sitting here rather stunned (and not a little wrung out)...and damn, what? Confused? Wiped? Disappointed? Satisfied? Upset? All of the above maybe... Emotional wreck? Yep.

Though that could be, at least in part, because I stayed up most of the night finishing this ;)

But I just can't decide what to do about this review. I can't quite decide how I feel about this book. So forgive me if this review is even more rambling than my usual as I try to figure it out.

First, I have to give Kristen Banet credit - she doesn't shy away from really digging into her characters and what makes them tick. Nor from then pulling the proverbial rug out from under them (whatever their rug or Achilles heel might be). And she does a very good job of connecting the reader to that. Part of why I feel so wrung out - a strong emotional connection to the characters.

I also have to point out that she crafts a very solid story with very credible and fully realized world-building. It is believable, grounded - a world you can picture living in. That adds to the immersion she is able to sustain through an entire series.

Well, for most of it - I struggled at the beginning of each of the books. Or the second two anyway. The first 20-30% in both books 2 and 3 required a bit more patience and dedication because Banet has a slightly annoying need to let the reader in on everything.

E V E R Y T H I N G.

She seems to need all the i's dotted, t's crossed, and everything in a tidy bow. And for some reason, she does this in the first portion of the last two books instead of at the end of the book. (As in, kind of puts a wrap-up of book 2, filling in all sorts of details, at the beginning of book 3. Things like that. And come to think of it, the same thing in book 2 - a wrap up of book 1.) It makes the next book hard to get into, and honestly, didn't add a lot to the story for me.

Now, by 'wrapping everything up in a tidy bow' I don't mean every little thing happily ever after (as in a fairy tale). Actually, she goes out of her way to make sure everything is not quite perfect (and that's part of where the emotional heft comes from). But she does have a tendency to wallow in the 'wrap-up'. And the end of book 3 had a lot of HEA wrap-up (though thank god it wasn't as cliche as a trip down the aisle and babies!).

I think what frustrated me most about this book was it felt like it should have been book 2. This one had a lot less action. It was mired in fathoms of shifter politics. It had plenty of flashbacks to reveal the childhoods and past of the Kingson Pride members. It had a lot of emotional growth and therapy. And was very much about relationship building. A lot more cerebral than the first two books. And it was interesting and intense because I was invested in the characters. But...

But.

It kinda meant that the trilogy didn't peak in book 3. Which is a mistake in my opinion, if the author wants the reader to come away from a series blown away. Now, I am going to get into some serious spoilers here, so skip the next section if you haven't read the series yet.

Overall, I have to say I think this trilogy is WELL worth a read if you are a RH fan, especially of shifters, and you aren't averse to some (okay, a lot) of explicit sex, and some dark stuff. Give this one a go! It is mostly very well done.

Update notes:
30.0% - *sigh* Okay, I am still loving these characters, their dynamic, this world...but why in the hell did the author feel she needed to spend more than 30% of the book in the house having flashbacks to the guys' childhoods? It wasn't important through two books...why the hell now when it should all be building to the finale? Serious pace-us interruptus here :(

A large part of me is sad to say goodbye but I cannot imagine a better ending for Riley and her guys.

Throughout the series we have watched them grow and develop as people as well as in their relationship.

From dealing family and political drama to watching the character find their way through ptsd tragedy, Kristen has made her characters human and relatable despite their fantastical world.

It was wonderful to get so many POV from the guys younger days and learn more about their history.

No review can do this book justice, I can only hope we see glimpses of these amazing characters in future books.

What a beautiful ending 😍
I loved this book, the action, the angst and fear for the survival of the pride kept me on my toes
To read the love, the trust and companionship between them was an experience I will always cherish.
My heart is full of love for these people.

Thank you for writing this story. It will always have a special place in my heart.

And I wouldn't mind reading about Thomas, his friends and the doe!!! That just sounds like a good time 😄

I felt like this was the perfect conclusion to Riley and her guys' story. They finally figure out who is pulling the strings and they need to take drastic measures to make sure they can live a happy and normal life with no more assassination attempts. That ending, though, it was perfect! They all went to each other's back to surprise each other—it was so cute!

Wild Souls is the final book in the Kingson Pride series. Was it awesome? Hell, yes. Was it action packed? Yup. Did it give us sexy scenes with all the boys? Damn, right it did. Was it badass? Fuck yeah.

description

It’s no secret that I love this series. Not only the dynamic between the five men is exceptionally written, but their dynamic with Riley is sexy, deep, and so well developed. Each and every one of the characters has their own individual personality that mirrors their animal. It’s great!

With this final book, I was expecting the conclusion of many things that were left over from the previous books. And were they? Some yes, some no. The book did end with most of its issues resolved and finalized, but it also left some room for further books... Which I’m all for it!! I do, however, wished for more sexy scenes with Riley and all the boys. The author teased about it in the book, but it was never done. But that’s just me being greedy.

The secondary characters (the wolfs) were a constant presence in the story. I do hope they get a book for their pack, not only because they were introduced to a girl they grew rather fond of, but also because they are awesome.

Wild Souls has a story that kept me at the end of my seat the entire time. It has a lot of scary scenes where the boys and Riley are in danger, but together they manage to overcome everything and every enemy they have. They are all badass. Kristen does an amazing job making sure her book is not too cheesy and has just the right amount of action, danger, and sexiness.

It was an awesome ending to a great series, but I do want more. I want more books in this world, in fact, I NEED THEM!!

PROS
*This is the kind of reverse harem I want to read. The author does not tease you the whole time with back and forth "will they won't they." The heroine is indeed romantic with all five heroes. Bonus points also for the steam factor
*The heroine doesn't suck. She's a bit of a special snowflake but can hold her own, fight for survival, and not be a pushover.
*It's a good take on feline shifter prides. I'm a shifter pnr junkie, so always love something new.

CONS
*The storytelling lacked finesse in the sense that I was just getting bored. I read Books 1 & 2 back in 2017 and honestly had no idea what was happening here. It just didn't stick with me after reading apparently, but I wasn't motivated to go back and re-read.
*There is so much conflict and action. It takes up about 95% of the story in Book 3. Everywhere the pride turns they have enemies and they're at peril and someone gets attacked and it never stops and I couldn't keep it all straight.
*This lead me to skimming aggressively. Again, the premise as a whole is solid. It was just too much to keep track of. I could've used a touch more romance, maybe some comedic relief, or just less drama.

With that said, this author has another duet out and I am interested in giving it a shot. Eventually.

This was a WONDERful ending to the series.....but is it really the end??? This book had me on a roller coaster of emotions. First I did not want the series to end so I was apprehensive about that - but the author has left us with so many possibilities of future stories to come....oh how I love Thomas the wolf and I am not ready to leave Wild Junction. Second, we get more of the backstory of they guys' relationships and how they came to be - we not only get their POV's in present day but a few POV's from when they were younger this really filled in all the gaps and then some. Third there is some action that leaves you on the edge of your seat and holding your breathe as to the outcome. Fourth we get some much needed revenge.....and downright badassery. Finally we get an ending that gave me all the feels and left me with a book hangover. So yes I REALLY liked this book - Thank you Kristen Banet for knocking it out of the park once again. On a side note - the sexy times in this book.....HOT!

The end....kinda

The final book of Riley and her guys' story is emotional. While the first two had emotions and violence and all of those things, this book multiplies all of that. A fitting end to their story as the main leads.

We once again see Riley and the Pride in this book alternating POVs. I don't want to dip too much into them because I don't want to risk giving out any spoilers. We also get to see the wolves, Sherriff, a bit of the Fox and Abbie plus some other characters in small bits along the way. Each POV is clearly labeled in a chapter header so it does not cause confusion when there is a change.

The plots wrap up in this final book, although it does give us a few hints into what may come in some of the other stories about the citizens of the town that will have their own series. It is a wild ride and it has a fitting end.

Overall I would recommend this book(but read book 1 & 2 first or you will be lost a lot).

Like all the other books in this series my attention was held from page one until the end and I wanted it to just keep going! There are some real emotional parts in this book and I had big concerns for the Pride (will not give any spoilers). I love Riley in this book as we once again see her for what she is, part human but part animal and fully powerful. I love how she controls all the guys and you really see her confidence come back in this book! Of course all the guys are great in this book and it is great to read Troy and Gabe getting through their history and moving in. This book is a great finalisation if this series but it really leaves it open for more books with some of the supporting characters! If you love RH and shifters then you should be reading these books!! Highly recommended

Oh I didn't want this book or series to end! What a heartfelt book which had me in tears, it had me full of despair but it also had me full of hope. This book made me feel so many emotions throughout it that I'm not sure where my emotions are at now except for being a tumbled mess. One thing I can tell you though is that I'm happy with the ending and I felt it was the perfect way to end it for The Kingson Pride. I loved reading this whole series, even though it had some real heart in the mouth moments, but I think it's been beautifully created by the author throughout and I've loved it all. I sure am going to miss Riley and the boys, but I hope that we'll be able to see them again in the other books the author plans to write in Wild Junction. A tremendous five star read for me, I loved every minute of it.

And that's a HEA

This book was Rocky lots of suspense and trouble, while still having some humor and romance. It true trouble can build character and make you stronger and I think it did just that for the kingson price and their friends. Not to ruin anything but I will admit I was worried at one point and wasn't sure how some things would play out but I was satisfied how they did. This book did a great job tying a bow on the kingdom pride, while still leaving things open enough where we could get more stories about the kingson pride or their friends. So I would definitely say this was a satisfying HE A and would recommend. Also I really hope Thomas and his pack get a story with Abigail because that seems like it could be another great addition to the Kingson pride universe.

A rather anti-climatic ending to the series

It did mainly resolve the series . It had enough conclusion that it satisfied, but left things open for future related books. Feline shifters are my favorite type, so overall, I enjoyed this series.

I still believe that the Heroine could have been more personable and developed to a fuller extent. I just never liked her as much as I would have preferred. And there really wasn't enough actual shifting. I was SO looking forward to a big, final action scene that included fighting in their animal forms. After all, their final conflicts were against other shifters instead of humans. But no...just fists, knives, guns.

But I still liked the series enough to finish all three books. 3-1/2 Stars for me.

This is the final book in the Kingson Pride series and wow what an ending. Let me start from the beginning Riley found a pride and fell in love with them all. Hey have had their ups and downs. A lot of bad stuff happened to them over the series. This book showed more and how long of a game is being played. There is happiness but also the possibility of tears in this one. The book keeps you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Some things were expected others were so not expected. This book pulls you and doesn’t let you go. This is a must read. Come see what happens in Wild Junction. Would love to say more but hey don’t want to add spoilers.

great ending

I have fallen in love with this series and as much as I hated seeing it end, I loved it. I always respect an author who allows characters to end in a less than perfect state. I mean when you go to war, people get hurt and it’s highly unlikely every member of a group would come out unscathed so thank you Ms. Banet for not ending with everyone perfect; a lot has happened to this pride and their wounds are what makes them. I do wish there’d have been an epilogue many years down the road but I’m not too upset over not getting that. Now I can imagine what I want for them. I can’t wait to read more stories from this wonderful world

The culmination of the trilogy and a lot better (in my mind) than the first two. Enemies are all around the Kingston Pride and they are in grave danger of.not making it through with some of all of the.pride members alive. An insidious enemy is attacking them in their businesses and their personal lives, the Price is going to have to return to a time and a mindset they thought they had left behind in order to.survive. It's a deadly, vicious mindset they thought had been left behind but the shifter community never let's anyone just walk away like Reilly's men did. A price has to be paid...........

What a fantastic end to a really good series. Book 1 was the authors first published book and she has come leaps and bounds since then. Book 3 was exciting and it was a very satisfying ending to an enjoyable series. There was more growth and realisation about the fact that they are half wild animal, and coming to terms with this. The resolution to her relationship with her father was nicely done. All in all a great way to wind up the series. I'm just hoping that we may get more from other characters in the future. Highly recommend this book as well as book 1 and 2

So emotional

The pride just can't seem to catch a break. With a reappearing father who doesn't approve of her new life, someone trying to kill them, and the feline world being shifty, they are taking hits from all sides. And man are they being hit hard. Have your tissues ready on this one. While this is the last book for Riley and the guys, it's not the last we will see of the wild junction world. I'm ready for the next adventure.
*side note* can I just tell y'all how much I freaking LOVE Sheriff!!!!

No I don’t want this to end!!!

Another great book by another author. I wish shouldn’t finish this series but alas. These characters definitely need a peaceful ending after all the shit they went through. This the end all finally that literally connects all three books and perfectly ties it off to a beautiful ending. I will still hope and dream of learning more about these lovely characters but like the author. I will leave them to their long earned rest. Thank you for the awesome ride!

I love this series so much, and i love this author. I came into reading Wild Souls both excited and sad. Sad it is the last book for Riley and her boys, and excited because i knew it was going to be so good. I was not wrong. So freaking good. Riley and her men have been through so much, and will continue to go through. But they are strong as a unit and are perfect for one another. We get action, revenge, back story, non stop hits from all sides, and yet they still fight. Loved it!! It was everything i wanted for their conclusion. And plus side, maybe it wont be the last for Wild Junction!

So good

So I just devoured this series in a day and a half! I've always been a fan of shifter romance but I loved the danger and intrigue in this series. I also like that the shifters in this series aren't perfect.

SPOILERS@@@@@
The characters in the series received injuries and while most stories have shifters healing without any ill effects, this one is more realistic. Andrew suffered long term effects from his head injury and Zachary dealt with his back injury for months.

AMAZING!!

Kristen Banet you took us on a journey and let us get to know all 5 of them instead of just the main character!! I'm So sad that there won't be anymore books for the Kingson Pride, but the way you ended it was awesome!! Thank you so much for your writing. It takes your readers to a place they can forget about everything else for just a little while. I so look forward to every book you will write in the future, as I'm sure they will be fantastic!!!

I really enjoyed this story and this finial book to the series. Everything came together and relationships were further developed and it was obvious how much they cared for each other. I would of liked to see the intimate scenes a little more in depth but there was a nice balance of intimacy and sex in the book. It would be great to have more books with some of the other characters in the book. I get the feeling that the author, Kristen might be thinking of that as well.

Loved It!!!!

So sad this part is over. I love love Riley, Brenton, Zachary, Andrew, Troy and Gabe. I have laughed and cried through all of it. Its hard to let go of great characters and their stories. I also love Thomas, so can't wait to read their duology with Abigail. This has been one of the best RH books ever. Funny after this trilogy and the Redemption Saga, how Kristen has become one of my favorite authors!!!! Keep up the great work.

I'm going to miss this series, its addicting.

I read the last book in Sept 22, so not a year ago but its not that far off. I fell into this straight away like there wasn't months between books.

All the characters are great. They each bring different things and I think that is why I like RH. You can have a good all rounder man built up by multiple men.

Will 100% be happy to reread this series again.

Love!!

This is by far one of my all time favorite series!! I re-read the first two books before reading this last and final book. Each one got better than the previous. I laughed, cried and sighed. A perfect group of guys 😍 and a MC you wish you were. Now I can't wait to read (hopefully) about Thomas and his pack with Abigail! Fantastic job Kristen Banet!

This book was seriously the ending this series needed. I teared up a few times and finally cried at the end. There are lots of things happening here that are unexpected...and you even kind of understand Keith (#HateKeith). This book might not be what the readers want, but it is definitely what the series needs. I highly recommend the whole series.

Conclusion

I could not believe these were reverse harem stories. In these they are usually short stories. I was so happy and they were cool. The girl was independent and could hold her own. The guys were supportive and even though at times I wanted to strangle them they were just learning. The progression of story made the conclusion great.
