Excavator's 123 and Bulldozer's Shapes are the third and fourth in the series of concept board books about the trucks of Construction Site, joining Cement Mixer's ABC and Dump Truck's Colors.

Rinker's rhymed couplets are sure to be a hit with fans of this series of books. In Excavator, the team is counting on him to lend a hand on the job site. In Bulldozer, Bulldozer and Crane team up to move dirt during the day, forming it into different shapes in the process. A few readings and the kiddos will have these two books memorized in no time. Ethan Long continues to do an admirable job of maintaining continuity of the digital artwork for the series, based on illustrations by Tom Lichtenheld. They seamlessly go together.

A must for fans of the series. Toddlers-PreSchool.

The popularity of the beloved Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site has spawned an entire industry of books featuring the trucks that work on those sites. Here, youngsters follow Excavator as he and his truck friends perform various tasks. Each double-page spread in this board book features a number, starting from one and going all the way to ten. The illustrations and rhyming text make this counting book just about irresistible for its intended audience. Teachers might want to purchase multiple copies since this one will be popular.

Easy reading board book for kiddos that like dump trucks and excavators. The counting piece is done well with the exception of a few pages that make it hard for little ones to lose place while counting.

For example, counting holes dug in a line of pretty easy - you can count them left to right. But counting 7 loads/piles of dirt in a dump truck is a little harder to lose track of where you are. It’s still good practice either way!

It only counts up to ten by the way.

My two year old absolutely loves this book. It helps with his counting and the words used are age appropriate, yet very descriptive to help improve vocabulary! We borrowed it from the library but it is going on our list of books to buy!

The words don't flow as well as they do in Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site. Even though the original book is much longer, Henry will listen to it a couple times in one sitting, but we are yet to make it through this board book. - 5/10/21

Less texty than some of the other Construction books, but there's no objective to accomplish as we count to ten. And in fact, there are 5 pipes that go into the 4 (plus magical 1 additional) rows that were cleared the pages before.

The pictures are wonderful, and my kids loved it, but it doesn't work very well as a counting book, as some of the picture choices for the numbers aren't very intuitive for small children.

My son loves it, but it's still a little confusing. Out of the three we have this is the best one.
