Charlie
In the business world, I’m known as the bastard you do not f**k with.
In the kink world, I’m known for my precision with a whip.
In both worlds, women want me in their panties… to give them what they need.
I am never vanilla. EVER. I’ve never gone RAW with a woman.
I don’t want a long-term relationship.
I‘ve never been in love and I certainly don’t want children.

A trip to Vegas changes all of that.
With my brothers and best friend in tow, I meet her.
My Vegas Random who turns my life upside down.
She shows me what I’ve been missing and gives me everything I never knew I wanted.
To be wanted just for being me.

Kate
I have a broken heart and my extended family sends me to Vegas!
The one place in the f**king world I didn’t want to go.
I was happy with my life. My kids and my animals.
I loved work even though Brian works me like a slave.
Then I see him, Ian, our eyes meet and I know I am f**ked.
Sexy on top of sexy. If he comes over, my knickers are going to fucking go up in flames.

I don’t have a chance in hell of turning him down if he’s as smooth as he looks.
But he isn’t the one who approaches me.
His brother Charlie does.
There’s just something about them…
They might just be the hottest men I’ve ever met.
I don’t want to be in love.
I’ve been hurt in the past and lost the love of my life.
But a holiday romance with these two? What could possibly go wrong… It’s not like I’m going to fall in love…

The Vegas Random is a standalone, full-length tearjerker novel that does not contain cliffhangers. It includes a lot of steamy scenes, dark elements, and a guaranteed HEA.

OMG this is Ellie Gerrard’s debut book and it is amazing. Ellie takes you on an emotional journey you will never forget, this book will make you angry, happy, burst into fits of laughter and make you cry your eyes out. But with all of that being said you will be left breathless by the story that Ellie is telling you. All of the characters in this book are so loveable (well except for one) and you will fall in love with Charlie the main man. Kate is an absolute firecracker and you can’t help but love her tenacity and strength, she lets nobody stand in her way and has no fear of standing up for what is right. When these two meet it is in Vegas where Kate has gone for a break and Charlie is there with his brothers Ian and Richard and friend Ben instant attraction between Kate, Ian and Charlie set the scene for this incredible story.
I never give spoilers because I don’t like them myself all I will say is that you must not miss this book. It is one of the best things that I have read for a while. Ellie Gerrard has an amazing future ahead of her and I will eagerly await to see what she does next.
Do yourselves a favour and give this debut author a chance you will not be disappointed.

Fab read from start to finish it keeps you locked in with everything that is going on. throughout this book i have laughed, ohhh, awww, cried, oh my so many different emotions, but loved it all the same.
Charlie is a 40 year old man that runs is own company, but finds out he has cancer ,with only weeks to live. so he decides he is taking his brothers and his friend away to Vegas. Katie works with her brother in law Brian and he decides that its time she has a holiday so he sends her away. Wow,it's hard to believe that this is Ellie Gerrard's first novel. A great book that will tear at your heart so be sure to grab the Kleenex. Kate is nursing a broken heart and has been working her self to death at her brother in law's company. So her brother in law sends her to Vegas for a little break. She meets up with Charlie and his brothers. Charlie has terminal cancer and has taken his brothers and a friend for a goodbye trip. Charlie has never been in love and had no desire for children or a relationship. This story was pretty amazing and it's hard to say more without being a spoiler. You'll love it and you'll experience a range of emotions reading it. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

I really love this book for its escapism. Not particularly close to real life but that’s why we buy books. This is Ellie’s first book and what a debut. I was a little nervous at first as to Big “C” and a “bucket list” premise. It’s all handled well to not be depressing. There are a lot of characters, which at times I forgot who is who. Mostly though it revolves around three of them. I love how Charlie seems to grow as a person, finding things that with his old attitude he was missing out on a lot of the good things in life. Shorty is a wonderful mix of strength, brains and a sensual woman who has a lot on her shoulders. Ian is a huge support to Charlie as everyone tries to come to terms with Charlie’s diagnosis. It is a beautiful love story involving these three people, but is a lot more than that. The ending was totally unexpected, leaving room for further books to be written. There is a HFN ending. I hope Ellie writes more about Ian and Shorty’s life. There are also some others characters that demand their own books. I was given a book by the Author and gladly leave my honest opinion.

HOT ISN'T JUST A WORD!!!
If you want a read that keeps you on the edge of your seat, eyes glued to the pages afraid to miss a word. Nail bitting is guarantee with nerves jumping at every sound. You'll laugh with the main characters and cry hard, but you will not want to put it down. Its above steamy. Its off the charts hot. This is the first time I've read Ellie's work, but she did amazingly well with the plot. The details of scenes are explicit and hot as hell. Good job Ellie.

BDSM-MFM.-FF (usually not my cup of tea but this books took me past all that. The characters were unique to me and their stories had me engaged. The story could get a little confusing in the beginning because there are so many characters that intertwined.
I was all over the place emotionally with this book. It had a little humor. It was erotic. There are moments of anger and frustration. it was sad and it was pretty amazing. the story is a maze of coincidences. All the characters lives touch each other is one way or another. The story tells of a relatively young man who has been give a harsh deal. Charlie is a self described bastard. He is tough in business and in his personal life. He is a dominant who likes pain and whips. Watching Charlie change and the effect it has on the people around him was a pretty fascinating journey. Each new adventure opened up so many closed emotions and new beginings. I highly recommend this book and can't wait to read more. the ending is open so we have more to look forward to.

The Vegas Random - Ellie Gerrard

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Well what an amazing little surprise!

Ellie Gerrard has just absolutely obliterated my emotions with this story and yes, I will admit that I was sceptical that it would move me to tears, but I’m not ashamed to say, the tissue box is now empty.

I’m going to need a drink, a cigarette and a good lie down to recover from the emotional gravity of this touching, but absolutely honest, funny and seriously hot story.

Ellie handles so many difficult scenarios in this story with absolute integrity and sensitivity. Her characters embrace the reader, bonding you to their world and then taking you on their crazy, wild journey.

No spoilers but holy cow, can’t wait for the next book from Ellie Gerrard. It’s going to be a corker!!!!!

A heartwreching love story

It surprised me to find this book, one so heavy with sorrow, yet filled with humour and raw passion.
Ellie Gerrard mixes themes which in all seriousness, should not be put together. A death sentence and a love story. Bucket lists and sweat inducing Vegas shenanigans. You name it, it's in here. Expertly crafted piece by piece.
An asshole no one should care about, who has to learn for the first time, money cannot solve his greatest obstacle. Yet the reader does care as he grows and learns, with the clock ticking away the seconds.
This book comes with an important lesson. Count your blessings, for no one knows what tomorrow will bring.

A HEARTACHINGLY BEAUTIFUL READ!!!
Title: The Vegas Random
Author: Ellie Gerrard
Designation: Full-Length Contemporary Erotic Romance With Elements of BDSM & Suspense, Can Be a Read As Standalone, HFN,
Reading Platform: Kindle Edition
My Rating: Three Sexy Stars***
*Due to explicit language, graphic violence, and sex scenes, both consensual and nonconsensual including rape, this book is not recommended for readers under 18.
After receiving a recommendation for The Vegas Random in a newsletter from an author I follow, I decided to check it out. Ellie Gerrard is a new-to-me author and had no idea what to expect, but I liked the cover and, more importantly, was intrigued by the blurb, so I made my purchase and dove in. Although I rated this book only three stars, I can honestly say I was impressed with Gerrard as an author. I truly loved the premise and found it to be captivating, creative, imaginative, gripping, and highly emotional, but the execution left much to be desired. This author show a tremendous amount of promise, but the entire book was littered with syntax problems including incorrect grammar, punctuation, verb tense, use of homophones, improper shifts to third person perspective in a first person narrative, run on sentences and fragments, as well as weak story structure and exposition. Despite the mistakes, I couldn't stop reading. I found myself completely captivated by the characters and the unique story arc. This book had so much potential and could have been truly great with a professional edit and proofread. I checked Amazon and discovered The Vegas Random is the only book listed for Gerrard, so I assume this is her first release. I understand the challenges and difficulties a new indie author faces to publish a book, but shortcuts can destroy a promising career after only one book. Some readers may decide not to purchase again from an author after a less than satisfactory experience, especially since the market is currently being flooded with a plethora of new authors offering so many options. If you truly want to have a successful writing career, please consider having your books professionally edited, and not by friends or family who love you. This story could have easily been extraordinary, rather than just okay.

The Vegas Random is a heart wrenching, fast-paced, full-length contemporary novel filled to the brim with danger, drama, suspense, mystery, angst, heartache, humor, passion, erotic romance, and enough plot twists to give you whiplash. It can be read as a standalone and doesn't end with a cliffhanger per se but rather what I call a happy for now. Although I knew very early the story would not have a traditional HEA, I never expected the little grenade dropped by the author in the last few paragraphs of the epilogue. Oh my! That little nugget really blew my mind! No spoilers from me, but I will say this... A handsome dominant billionaire who had never been in love and had no inclination to ever do so-check! A charismatic dominant brother who'd suffered unbearable heartache after losing his wife and had no intention of ever giving his heart to another woman-check! A beautiful, brave, spunky, fearless widow and former soldier/medic/sniper who had her hands full with her two children, menagerie of pets, and current job as a private investigator/security expert-check! A shocking diagnosis, a bucket list, a trip to Vegas, a forced holiday, an unusual bet, not one but two once in a lifetime jackpots, a quickie Elvis wedding, an even quicker divorce, an unexpected turn of events, and a random pickup that not only irrevocably changed the lives of two brothers but also united two families-check! A large cast of wacky, intriguing, and endearing characters-check! Snappy dialogue, lots of humor, and a talking horse-check! (Yes, you read that right-a talking horse but after all, this is fiction, and this story will make you want to believe.) Danger, drama, heartache, mystery, suspense, a mysterious stalker, a special client, and a perplexing case-check! Immediate attraction, explosive passion, heartwarming romance, a steamy menage a trois, a serendipitous twist of fate, a generous splash of humor, a sprinkle of supernatural assistance, an unlikely but wonderful double surprise, and an ending that will tug on your heartstrings, rip your heart from your chest, but still leave you with the warm fuzzies and a big smile-you bet! That and a whole lot more! Interested yet? You should be! It's a wild ride!

Did I like this book? Yes, I did but it could have been so much better. One of my favorite components of the story was the characters, especially the three protagonists. I was instantly smitten with brothers Charlie and Ian Morrissey and adored Kate/Shorty. Everyone in this book seemed to be very open about their sexuality which I found that I liked, a lot. I'm an old bird and have read a lot of books in my lifetime, but Kate may be my all-time favorite heroine. She was brave, intelligent, selfless, kind, passionate, loving, and as loyal as the day is long, but such a little firecracker. She was perfect. I could feel the love between Charlie, Ian, and Kate, and they complemented each other brilliantly. Would I recommend it? Probably but not for readers under the age of 18 since it does include explicit language, sex, and strong elements of BDSM. Also, this story does contain graphic scenes and references to rape and violence which may be upsetting to some readers. Will I read this author again? I'll definitely give this author another chance, especially after the little bomb she dropped at the end of the story. And finally, was I entertained? Yes and despite the errors, I found myself on the edge of my seat, white-knuckling my ereader with my heart fluttering wildly in my chest as the pages flew. I snickered, snorted, giggled, fumed, sobbed, and flat out ugly cried through the entire book, but by the end I was happy, satisfied, and well entertained.

Life isn't always fair and you can't always get what you want. Sometimes you can get damn close though. Life is complicated and Kate aka Shorty is holding herself together for the sake of her twins Ryan and Ella. When a complicated case goes south, her family by bond send her packing to Vegas for a much needed holiday. Shorty is strong minded, bat shit crazy and totally unprepared for the twist she is about to be put in, and she might love every second of it.

Complicated doesn't begin to explain how events are turning out. Secret clubs, bucket lists, ex- military, steamy sex scenes and hearts that are going to be broken.

It was hard for me to get passed the use of male names that started with a "B", the story line seemed to get cluttered and there were some things that the editor needs to go through again. I loved the whole plot of The Vegas Random yet found it hard to accept that so many Doms would be under one roof. I also love Fifty Shades, but there seemed to be things that seemed too much like it. There was so much going on with the backgrounds of the characters, it almost felt too full. Kate seemed to be a little to lucky in Vegas, even without counting. There is no doubt this is a great book, I just need it to be less bulky and untwist the names of the male characters. I will be looking out for a follow up, especially since I never found out what would happen with Vince and Tammy, what will be the end game for Tammy and Ben and how Ian and Kate will turn out. I'd also like to know more on Chris and how Ryan and Ella came to be. the sake of her twins Ryan and Ella. Good news, if you're into that kind of thing, this contains every trope in the genre: alphas, bdsm, menage and sharing, long lost family, animals, kids, ceos, big families, suspense, ex-military, etc.

Now the bad news. This needed an Editor to tell the author that switching POVs with each paragraph is confusing for the reader and that typical verbal conversations in your head do not translate well to writing. Proofreading gives you a better review because you won't have readers wondering why words are missing or when one sentence ends and another begins. Clearly Australian, the author doesn't realize that we call them Hotels in the US and uses some Aussie slang that I just did not understand. There is so much awkward writing in this book that it's hard to figure out what's going on.

This was one of those books that was such as train wreck that I couldn't stop reading. And generally Charlie's cancer puts a pall over everything. No one is making good decisions or fun ones to read.

SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT:
Wealthy Charlie learns he's dying, creates a bucket list which includes having a threesome with a "random" woman. His brother Ian spies her from across the casino floor and wants her. Charlie goes along with it, and then falls in love with her and she with him even though he's dying. This was really cruel. Getting her to participate in some kinky stuff and her ending up feeling dirty was AWFUL. Her marrying Charlie, divorcing in a day, then marrying Ian at Charlie's request when he doesn't love her (yet) is also cruel. There are a lot of women in this book who have been raped. It's so disrespectful how these rapes have been handled... it's like, oh yeah, I'm being stalked and oh yeah, he raped me and I'm just going to go on about my daily life as if it didn't happen. WTF?

Charlie is also a dom, so there's a lot of references to spanking and whipping even though we know Kate was tortured in the military. Cruel, not sexy.

And, it ends in a pseudo cliffhanger.

I really enjoyed reading this book. When I first started, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it. There were so many POVs that it had a tendency to be a little overwhelming. Once I dug in, I couldn't put it down. The plot was interesting and different from anything I've read. I loved how Charlie, Ian and Kate got together. All were well-developed characters and easily relatable. It was extremely touching what Kate did (I won't give it away - you'll have to read it to find out). I'm not sure many women would have done what she did. The overall feeling of this book for me was sad due to Charlie's circumstances. I loved how everything played out in the end. Have your Kleenex ready. You'll need it. I loved how Charlie ended up with peace. The ending also leaves you to believe we will see more of Kate, Ian and the rest of the family at some point....

I voluntarily read and reviewed a free copy of this book....

Let me start by saying this book deserves more than 5 stars.
When i read this emotionally charged love story, I felt it to the core of my being. I couldn't put the book down but I also could not stop crying. I felt like I was part of the characters and their story it touched me so much.
This book is so well written with a well defined plot and well developed characters and their individual roles in the story. I can't say say enough, it's indescribable how it made me feel.
And the love that comes out among the characters along with the amazing sex scenes.
This book should be nominated for the best book for 2018, that's for sure!!
This is the first book I read from this author but it definitely will not be the last. She's up there with my favorite authors!!

This author is new to me and this book was a bomb! Starts off with Charlie planning his bucket list after finding out he has terminal cancer with one month to get his affairs in order, which he does spectacularly! Even accomplishes things he swore he would never do, like falling in love, getting married, and having children. How? First he puts together his bucket list, invites his two brothers and his attorney and flies with them to Vegas where they are going to share his bucket list. First thing: randomly pick a woman to help him with his list! And that is how he meets his Vegas Random: Kate, Shortie, hero sharpshooter, jackpot! This book is full of adventure, tears, and giggles; also children, pets, and security personnel! You will love it all! Gotta one-click this one for sure, a 5++ star.

It is a romance love story with lots of potential. Emotional and loving story. Well written story with a nice storyline and plot. I like that the characters and how they develop. Especially the supporting characters are very well described. There is a group of three which I only loved. A passionate and emotional read with twists.I liked that the author has written a story where the characters stand up for their needs and wants in their sex life. I like the BDSM moments which are written with passion. A emotional rollercoaster with twists.

It is written in multiple POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. There is passion, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this amazing story.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Holy Cow... This is the debut book for Ellie Gerrard and let me tell you how impressed I am. When you take a chance on a new author, you never know what you are going to get. You hope the book, author and their writing doesn't disappoint and I can tell you with this book those three things are definitely not disappointing. This author is going to take you on a wild rollercoaster of emotions that will make you cry, laugh, put a smile on your face, at times you may get angry but in the end it will leave you sighing. The story is so well written and the characters are developed very well, it's as if you are right there with them. I'm looking forward to seeing what Ms Ellie Gerrard has for us next. Absolutely a must read. Enjoy

This book defies categorisation. It has some kink, some ménage, some family drama. It was a beautiful book, but you probably have to be slightly open minded in order to see it that way.

I loved all the characters in this book, wholeheartedly and I can say without reservation that I bawled my eyes out. I NEVER cry - not even for real life things, but this book made me have big fat tears rolling down my face.

It does have some difficult subjects tackled within the book, with rape, stalking and assault all being tackled, but the biggest trigger is dealing with death. It’s a tough one but tackled with beauty and true emotion.

4.5 Unbelievable Stars!

My head is spinning! This book was unbelievable, and I mean that literally! But even with that and requiring a good editor, this book was absolutely entertaining to me. It made my head spin. It made me go ‘no way would men say and do this’, and no freaking way that woman is all that, but I still kept reading! This book is quite unique in the way it’s written and the voices of the characters. It was beautifully romantic and equally unrealistic but I loved the creativity in this story, along with energy, and all the twists and turns in the plot. So much going on and it kept me turning those pages.

I wasn’t sure where this was going, other than to tearsville!

Threesomes, spankings, billionaires and bucket lists... holy hell!

I SO didn’t want it to go where it did but the phenomenal writing, absolute creativity of timeline and execution was so on point it made you forget you were reading a story.

I was so wrapped up in healing the pain, finding the reason and losing the love make sense of the how’s and why’s that I became part of this intense, explosive and thoroughly enjoyable tale of love and loss, and the gamble we call life!

Let’s see how this amazing story goes in book 2 where we get more answers... or do we?!

I was immediately hooked and it was a roller coaster of emotions. It is a long time ago that I read such a great story. Be sure to have some kleenex handy when you read The Vegas Random!

Charlie, Kate and Ian come together in Vegas and the chemistry between the three is simply electric. Whew! But don't go mistaking The Vegas Random as some fluffy piece of steam, it's much more than that. You'll laugh, you'll cry, and you'll fall in love with the whole gang as Charlie and Ian find the woman for them. I probably sound cryptic, but I don't want to give away any spoilers, so just take my word for it - you should 1-click today and be prepared!

Without a doubt, one of the best books I’ve ever read. This is an excruciating journey to the end of a man’s life who truly never lived until he met his Vegas Random. You will need a ton of tissues as I cried from the opening scene until the end. The storyline is masterfully rafted; the characters beautiful yet flawed. It’s an emotional roller coaster from start to finish. Grab this book today! (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and was totally blown away by it.) ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Ellie Gerard, for an unforgettable read!

This is Ellie’s debut book. I’m speechless. I don’t know where to begin. This story was an emotional roller coaster ride. Kate is sent to Vegas for a rest from work. She meets up with Charlie, Ian, Richard & Ben. She has a family connection to one of them. There is an instant attraction to Ian & Charlie. No spoilers so I’ll just say this is a story that will make you laugh, cry, scream & wreck your emotions. I loved this book & look forward to more. With the oh crap ending to this book, I’m hoping there is a sequel to this story. Vegas Random, loves you.

The only thing that bugs me when reading any book besides holding my interest? Editing. I found the story ifantastic, deep and unpredictable. It made me happy that it didn't get too bogged down in sex and details but concentrated more on feelings. The blurb does however state there is no cliffhanger whereas it does. Amy needs to be caught. I would like to see a second book. I would love read more about Ben,Tammy and Vince.

Excellent book!

Ian, Charlie and Kate sizzle together. I started this book not knowing what it was about. I was just told to read it. I was so glad I did. I went from one emotion to another while reading this book. Any book that can give me the feels within the first couple pages is going to good, and this baby delivers big time. I don't want to give away to much except to say that for Ellie Gerrard's first book, she sure hit it out of the park!!!

I loved, loved, loved this book. It took me on a range of emotions from smiling, to being sad, to laughing, to shedding tears. The story of Charlie, Kate/Shorty and Ian. This was an unusual book as it had multiple POV's at least five. This story was well written and the characters were deep, well developed and had great personalities. The ending was a happy for now HFN, and it seems like or I hope that there will be a sequel to this book. I highly recommend this book.

Bravo Ms. Gerard! Vegas Random was nothing close to random. It is a dramatic, emotional, sexy roller coaster about the lives of Charlie, Ian and Kate. There’s so much packed into this story and it made it very difficult to put the book down. I can not wait to read more from this author! I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
