For over a century, Ripley’s Believe It or Not has been shocking crowds and fueling curiosity with bizarre stories and unbelievable facts! I remember the first time I went to a Ripley’s museum. It was with my papa before he passed, so I was probably about 6 yrs. old. Talk about fascination! I assume this is partially what led to my everlasting thirst for knowledge, interest in other cultures, increased awareness, and a constant desire for exploration.

I had so much fun going through this collection. It’s loaded with mind-blowing facts and stories and full-page color photos.

But it meant so much more to me than just the source material.

I received this book for free as part of a larger cause – the fight against banned books. Apparently, earlier in 2024, Ripley’s books were subjected to review and removal in the state of Florida and banned by a school district. This sparked a fight for intellectual freedoms during which Ripley’s offered Florida residents a free book to join/support their efforts. 17,500 Floridian residents, including myself, participated.

Remember reading and gaining knowledge is power and freedom! Never stop supporting and fighting against banned books!!!

I was so excited to get this brand new edition of this amazing series. My kids were totally pumped too! There is so much to love about this book...the pictures, 1,200 stories from all over the world and so much more. I love the ALL TRUE facts, features and pictures. I find is completely fascinating. I have been looking over this book and reading all sorts of tidbits. I love that you can read it cover to cover or, like I am doing now, bit by bit. There is something for everyone in this book! A must for your home library or for you school classroom!
